S6 Screen Not Responding
Problem: I am writing to add some info about the S6 screen not responding on the upper left corner. (Someone else reported the same issue on your site) My screen does not respond when i touch the upper left corner or use the a,q,w keys. This ONLY happens when my battery gets below 15% AND it happens in every app. The only way i can use those letters is to swype.
Solution: Try to check first if this issue is caused by an app you installed in your phone by starting the device in Safe Mode while the battery is below 15%. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run making it easier to determine if a third party app is involved. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then restart your phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of your phone. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset check if the issue is resolved.
S6 Display Will Not Come On
Problem: I recently knocked my phone off a desk. It landed face down, flat on the floor. Since then, the display will not come on. The notification LED blinks, the home/back/recent buttons light up when I turn off and boot up the phone, even preset alarms sound and go off, but no screen. Every now and the I can see a portion of the screen on the right side light up. I know that the connection between the board and the screen probably got jostled loose but my question is, is this fixable? I am acquainted with soldering etc. Is this something I can do? Or should I send it to someone?
Solution: The drop could have damaged the screen display causing this problem. You will still get notifications even if the screen of your phone is damaged since the screen is just an output component. There are two possible causes as to why the screen is damaged. First, the dorp may have loosened the connection between the display and the main board of the phone. Although this is highly unlikely it is still quite possible. Second, the display is already broken and needs to be replaced.
In my opinion it is best if you bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked since the display may need to be replaced.
S6 Touchscreen Not Working
Problem: It was raining badly, my phone got wet and i quickly dried it out with towels and rice.
Phone switching on but can’t use touch screen. Trying to get photos off phone.
Solution: If the touchscreen isn’t working after the phone got wet then the digitizer could be damaged. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked and repaired.
To get the photos off your phone you can try to use Kies or Smart Switch. Connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running. If your phone can be detected then you can backup not only your photos but other personal data as well.
S6 Screen Does Not Light
Problem: My screen will not light. Yesterday I was listening to music on my phone, which was connected to a speaker. The music stopped after a while and when I checked the screen, it would not come on. I thought the battery was out of power. When I got home and checked it, the phone would sound when texts and e-mail were received. I called the phone and it rang using my ringtone. Just didn’t light the screen for any of them and thus no way to use it.
Solution: Try starting your phone in recovery mode. This is needed for troubleshooting software related causes. If your phone can access the recovery mode then proceed with wiping its cache partition. This deletes the temporary data stored in your phone which could cause this problem. If the issue remains then I suggest you do a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete the data stored in your phone.
If you can’t access the recovery mode then the problem could be caused by a defective display. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Not Sensitive
Problem: The screen is hard to use like the sensitivity needs increased especially when it is cooler. Also I cannot talk on the phone and use the Internet or get on Amazon or check email or do anything online related while on a phone call. Is there a way to change sensitivity of the screen on the s6? And I have checked all settings and cell data usage is on for everything to use so any ideas as to why I cannot use internet while I am on the phone? I CAN use it if I am connected to wifi I had a s5 prior to upgrading and the sensitivity setting was easily changed but I can’t find it nor could the guy at the store find a setting to change it
Solution: The touch screen works best when you use your skin to touch the screen. Make sure you are not using gloves on. If your phone has a screen protector installed then try taking it out as this may affect the screen sensitivity.
The phone software can also be a factor in the screen sensitivity. I suggest you try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the problem is resolved.
S6 Top Left Of Display Not Working
Problem: Most of the time I’m not able to open the menu bar on the top left of apps….I’m not sure why because I can pull down the phones notification bar from right above there. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling…. this has not led to resolution of the issue….only able to select the menu button occasionally.
Solution: The problem could be caused by some form of corrupt data. Try starting your phone in Safe Mode then wipe its cache partition. If the problem persists then proceed with backing up your phone data and do a factory reset.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue then this may be a hardware related problem. Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it has then try to remove it. Another factor that can cause this problem is a faulty digitizer. If this is the case then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Auto Brightness Not Working
Problem: The auto brightness is checked on my phone, but after a while it quits working. It will not change brightness going from right to dark or dark to bright rooms
Related Problem: After it’s been on for a while, my galaxy s6 seems to lose brightness control. It does not change brightness when I move to an area that has a different brightness level. In settings, the auto brightness function is checked yet it does not change to adjust to a different condition
Solution: Make sure the phone display is clean, especially in the sensor part. If your phone has a screen protector or case installed then remove it first.
This problem is usually caused by a glitch in the phone software. To troubleshoot this issue you need to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Reboot your phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then the problem could be caused by a defective sensor. You will need to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
