Samsung Galaxy S6 Opens Gear Vr Service When Connected To Charger Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is the first model of the South Korean giant that redefined the way they made flagship models. While previous generation flagships were made mostly of plastic parts and had a removable battery this model is now made mostly of metal and glass and has a non-removable battery. The end result is a premium looking device that’s very nice to use. Ever since its initial release in 2015 a lot of people have been using this as their daily driver. Although it is a reliable phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 opens Gear VR service when connected to charger issue & other related problems.

S6 Opens Gear Vr Service When Connected To Charger

Problem: I need urgent help please! i am having annoying issue with my S6 at&t, whenever i connect charger to my phone it opens gear VR service showing a complete black screen with a sign “x” at bottom left or right side of the screen, then i have to restart it by pressing volume and power button simultaneously, i’ve tried around 6 to 7 charger but some problem exists, and if i charge my device after shutting down my phone colour bit changes and stop charging after 5 seconds, i am fed up of this now i have not used my phone from quite long time, please help me to solve this issue, i’ve searched it on google but never get any satisfying solution, please get this issue resolved. (Sorry for my bad English) if anyone of you can understand Urdu please let me know so that i can explain my issue more clearly, thanks waiting for your response eagerly..

Solution: Start the troubleshooting by replacing the USB cord that you are using to charge the phone. This cord gets easily damaged especially if it is constantly coiled and bent and the one that you are using right now might already be damaged. If possible try using an original Samsung charging cord. Before charging the phone make sure to clean the phone charging port using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck inside gets removed.

If the issue persists then the next step is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install any app in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Overheated Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: I left my Samsung s6 to charge overnight I woke up about three hours later to it being overheated. It was really hot. Now it won’t turn in it’s been about 3 hours. I’ve never spilled a copious amount of liquid on it. I have dropped it but it has an otter case and always works and is okay when I pick back up.

Solution: Try doing a simulated battery pull on your phone first by simultaneously pressing and holding both the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally your phone should reboot after this. If the phone does not respond then check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If you are able to start the phone in this mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If you are unable to access the recovery mode and the phone still does not respond then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure to check that the cord and charger you are using works with other devices.

If you still get no response or if the phone overheats then you need to bring this to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a component that has short circuited.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: I dropped my s6 at about knee high….it went off and I could not get it to power on. I then plugged it up to charger and it comes on but will turn off as soon as it’s unplugged. I have gotten it to stay on for about 5 minutes one time without being plugged in. It had a full battery when I dropped it.

Solution: This is clearly a hardware related problem already. It’s either the phone has a loose connection inside or a component has become faulty due to the drop. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Charging After Software Update

Problem: My mum is on holiday here in Oz. her phone started to update with no warning and now it won’t charge. I’m sorry, but I have no idea what the android version is.

Solution: Although software updates are meant to improve the phone sometimes some issues can arise due to the update. Since the phone is not charging after the update then try to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Turn off the phone then check if it charges while it is off. If it does then turn it on then check if it charges. If the phone only charges while it is off then this could be caused by a hardware issue in which case you should bring this to a service center and have it checked.
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris that’s stuck in the port gets removed.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If it charges this way then the charging port of the phone might be causing this problem. Have this checked at a service center.
  • To check if the phone software is causing the problem you should backup the phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stopped Charging

Problem: Hi there, i’ve saw almost all your posts about Galaxy S6 charging problem but didn’t found a well solution. My phone worked properly for about a year. Last week it just stopped charging. It didn’t shut off or something, just didn’t charged. when battery went to 0 i’ve tried again to plug it to the charger, and it showed the battery charging sign for about 5 sec and then it disappears. i’ve tried other cables or other ports, tried cleaning the charger and the phone usb port, tried soft boot by pressing and holding the Power button and Volume down button for at least 10 seconds. It didn’t helped. I don’t know how but when i left the phone, before went to 0, pluged with usb cable to computer for about 5 minutes, it started charging. when the battery drained again, it didn’t worked again. Now with some luck, sometimes it’s charging and sometimes don’t and only shows the battery sign for short time. Please, try figure out something.

Solution: It looks like your phone already has a faulty battery. Since the battery in this model is non user removable you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Won’t Stay Powered On Unless Plugged To Charger

Problem: Hello , My Galaxy s6 won’t stay powered on unless it is plugged in . The phone appears to be on %86 .If I don’t maneuver the cord a certain way it will not turn on only the charging screen appears. I did a reboot by holding down the  volume up and home and power buttons at the same time .

Solution: Whenever a phone does not turn on unless plugged into a charger the culprit is usually a faulty battery or a defective power IC. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Working Unless Plugged In Charger Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is one of the smartphone models out in the market that doesn’t have a user removable battery. While this makes the phone design sleek and solid it makes it difficult to troubleshoot any battery problems without sending it to a service center. Although this phone has a 2550 mAh battery that provides a long usage time there are instances when certain power related problems can occur on the device which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 not working unless plugged in charger issue & other related problems.

S6 Not Working Unless Plugged In Charger

Problem: So I was able to turn my phone on and use it this morning and then I left it on in my pocket while I worked moving some stuff. I took a break and found it was off and tried to turn it on and it took a couple minutes. When it turned on it was fine. Then a couple hours later it would show the Samsung Galaxy s6 active when you boot it up then turn off again.it kept doing this until I gave up. When I got home I plugged it in and it was at 91% so I unplugged it and it immediately turned off. I am unable to use my phone unless it is plugged in now.

Solution: You’ll want to make sure first that the phone software isn’t acting up and causing this problem. To do this just backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then there’s a limited troubleshooting steps that you can do on the hardware side which we have listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris in this port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty battery. I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not turning On After Drop

Problem: Hi there, I just dropped my S6 from about knee (possibly hip) height and it landed flat on its back, in a basic jelly cover on it. It initially went all black with a flashing blue light and the home/back touch keys lit up. It would then be able to be booted up by just holding the home key down for awhile. And then it would work for a bit, randomly turn itself off, no blue lights flashing, and then could be brought back to life. Well… now 3 hours later… it is just the black screen and flashing blue light (it like fades through the different shades of blue light).  I’ve tried holding: just the home key, just the power button, the up volume + power + home, the down volume + power + home. Nothing works! just more black screen and blue fading in/out light. What else can I try? Would that drop from a somewhat small height onto its BACK have caused such irreparable damage??  I hope you guys can help. Thanks

Solution: It appear that the display might have been damaged by the drop. It’s also possible that the drop might have loosened the connection between the display and the motherboard of the phone. Since the device needs to be opened and checked I would recommend that bring this to a service center that does board level repairs.

S6 Only Charges with Fast Chargers

Problem: My galaxy S6 only seems to charge with fast chargers! I have at least 5 different regular chargers at home that charge my husband s7 perfectly fine. However when i plug them up to my phone my phone doesn’t even detect that its charging it doesn’t say anything! But if i charge it with a fast charger it works ! Helpp its soo frustrating.

Solution: It looks like there’s something wrong with the charging port of your phone or with the charging IC. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you have to do for this particular problem.

  • Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first by using a can of compressed air. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris present in this port as this could cause charging problems.
  • Try charging your phone using different charging cords and see if it charges normally.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software.

If the above steps fail then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could be caused by a hardware issue.

S6 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: My phone will randomly turn off. I don’t believe it has restarted on it’s own. I’ll go to check my phone and it’s off, usually requiring me to press the power button several times to even get a response. I hasn’t been damage. But it is Straight Talk if that matters, ik you cannot get firmware update from these providers. But I just can’t stand it anymore. My phone shouldn’t just turn off.

Solution: The best way to deal with this issue is to check if the phone software is causing the problem. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this issue. Move to the next step should the problem still occur.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Try to check if the phone still randomly turns off. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data which could be causing the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after performing the steps listed above the problem still occurs then you should have this phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On After Overnight Charging

Problem: I left my phone on charge overnight. I woke up this morning; the green fully charged light was on however my phone isn’t. I pulled out the charger and the green light stays on but nothing happens to the phone – just dead 🙁 Please help!!

Solution: For this particular issue I recommend that you simulate a battery disconnect your device. To do this simply press and hold the volume down and power/lock keys for around 20 seconds. Your phone should reboot after this procedure.

If the issue still remains then try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed check if the phone will turn on. If it doesn’t turn on then try to access the recovery mode. If you are able to enter this mode then I suggest that you wipe the cache partition of your phone then do a reboot. If this doesn’t work then access the recovery mode again and do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Does Not Turn On

Problem: My samsung s6 suddenly got turned off and couldn’t turn on. tried using charger and it showed charging and led lights also was blinking. I also tried to turn on when connected to the charger it turned on and as soon as the samsung galaxy s6 appeared it turned off. And started restarting by itself repeatedly this is happening if i unplug my charger everything goes off.

Related Problem: i used my phone tuesday night all well placed on charge and left as normal. phone was working ok but when woke wednesday morning phone display would not come up a blue light was flashing every so many seconds. i tried to soft reset with power, volume  buttons but nothing worked later in evening blue light stopped and i now have no access to turn phone on it is just dead

Solution: It appears that there might be an issue with the battery or the power IC of the phone. You should however check if another factor is causing this problem by doing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding the volume down and power/lock button for at least 20 seconds. If all goes well your phone should reboot normally.
  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Check if the phone can start in recovery mode. If it can then I recommend you do a factory reset. Take note that this erases the data stored in your phone.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Battery Drain After Nougat Update Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 was one of the most highly anticipated Android smartphones of 2015. It is a departure from the usual plastic construction  flagship design of the company as this model is now mainly made of glass and metal. It is a sleek, powerful, and solid device that delivers a great user experience. Although it is already a two year old model it is still no pushover as it can still outperform some of the latest smartphone releases. A lot of people are using this as their primary driver right now and while it doesn’t suffer from major problems there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 battery drain after Nougat update issue & other related problems.

S6 Battery Drain After Nougat Update

Problem: Galaxy s6 major battery drain issue since nougat update and patches I eventually gave in and did a factory reset this solved the 20% ph drain but now my issue is when playing a game my battery will drain from say 42% to 16% and drains fast but as soon as I plug my charger in my battery jumps back to 42%! When checking my battery usage the drop does show on the chart but on the game usage only states 1%, I have tried safe mode but still the same. Any idea? Thanks

Solution: Try checking if any of your apps need updating. You can do this by opening the Google Play Store and going to the My Apps section. Make sure to update any apps that have available updates. Once this is done proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Try to check if the issue still occurs after this. If it does then you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try checking if the same issue occurs. If it doesn’t then the game you were playing might be causing the problem. If however the problem still occurs then your phone might need a new battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On Unless Plugged To Charger

Problem: My Galaxy s6 won’t turn on unless it’s plugged in I’ve tried all the tips that were listed and I have yet to receive any results . I’ve reset it multiple times and it still doesn’t work when it’s unplugged it’s completely unresponsive . Please help me

Related Problem: Yesterday, I dropped my galaxy s6 and it will not turn on unless it’s hooked up to a charger. When i unplug it, it turns off. Is there a way to fix this? Did i screw up the battery by dropping it? I’ve dropped it many times and never had this problem. Thanks in advance

Solution: If the phone does not turn on unless it is plugged to its charger then there’s a possibility that the battery or the power IC of the phone is faulty. Before bringing the phone to a service center for checking make sure to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below which is aimed at determining if the phone software is causing the problem.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Constant Reboot Loop

Problem: My phone is in a constant reboot loop, I have tried all of the above. I need to get my photos off it so I can do a factory reset. Are there any other options or steps? It won’t even stay on long enough to get the photos off.

Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then start the device in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then you will be able to backup your photos. Since it is very likely that if you disconnect the charger the phone will reboot again you will need to use a cloud storage solution to backup your photos. Try to use Google Photos.

Once you have made a backup of your photos the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform are as follows.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Not Charging With Original Samsung Charger

Problem: Hi! I recently started using a USB generic cable with my Samsung fast charger ( I had misplaced the original samsung USB cable). I then bought a whole new charger (with USB cable) from Samsung because the generic cable meant it was not fast charging. Now, my phone will not charge with the new Samsung charger or any Samsung charger at all. It will only charge with the generic USB cable. The battery charges very slow and I don’t understand why it will not charge with an original Samsung charger.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. Clean this port using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone again with the Samsung cord and charger. If the issue remains then try using a different Samung cord as the cord that you have might be faulty.

You should also consider doing a factory reset on your phone to eliminate any possible software glitches that could be causing this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data first before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Shuts Off Then Restarts After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my phone in the toilet. I got it out right away and powered it down. I dried of any excess water and put it in rice for 2 days. I did not know them that the battery could be removed. When I plug it in it shows the gray lightning bolt and then shows that it is 90% charged. It will turn on and the touch screen works but after 30 to 60 seconds the phone will shut off or restart. I am not positive what version it is, but it was current with updates as of 3 weeks ago.

Solution: You did the right thing by placing the phone in a bag of rice for 2 days since the rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. However, since you are experiencing issues on the device then it is very likely that some component has become water damaged. You can check if it is indeed the contact with water that is causing this problem by checking the liquid damage indicator sticker of the phone which is located inside the SIM slot ( you will need to remove the SIM tray to view this). If the sticker is pink or red then the phone has suffered from water damage. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: My galaxy s6 won’t turn on or charge when plugged in the screen comes  on showing the battery image but the green lights aren’t ascending . I tried the forced reboot it flickered but still no charging what do I do

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. To do this you have to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Try to check if the phone restarts.
  • Connect the phone to a charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then ty using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try to check if the phone charges from a computer USB port. If it does then the phone might have a faulty charging port in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.

Once the phone charges try to turn it on.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone when I was at the store but didn’t check to see if it was okay because it usually works as the phone case protects it. I checked about 5 minutes after it fell and it wasn’t turning on. Asked my mother to call to see if it had died but it didn’t go straight to voicemail. I plugged it into a charger but when the power battery shows up, it disappears after a couple of seconds and keeps on showing like its a glitch.

Solution: What you need to do right now is to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try to charge the phone from a computer USB port.

If the above steps fails to work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Turning On After Drop Issue & Other Related Problems

One of the most important things to remember when you own a smartphone is not to drop the device. This is because these phones are not really designed to survive drops from certain heights. The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 for example which is mostly made of glass and metal will most likely suffer some cosmetic damage if you drop it. Sometimes though if the phone drops from a certain height it can affect the way the device works which is what we will be discussing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 not turning on after drop issue & other related problems.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: Hello! I have an issue with my Galaxy S6. I have read through the troubleshooting answers that seem to fit my phone with no avail. My phone slipped off a curb onto the road (not even half a foot drop) and hit the top left corner in an Otterbox case. It stopped working and would not turn on. I took it to get checked out and they thought it was the screen. 3 weeks later I went to get the screen replaced and the new guy said it turned on when plugged in and it was at 88%, the screen works, no pixels damaged so its not the screen. When I took it home and plugged it in, it worked for the first 3 times for about 30 seconds each before switching off. Then it started just turning on and showing charging for 1 second before going dead.  Do you have any recommendations that could be this issue? I attempted to push the power button multiple times per one of your suggestions but it doesn’t change anything.  Thank you so much for you assistance.

Solution: Since we can now rule out the display as a possible cause to this particular problem then this problem could either be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have the said components checked.

S6 Takes Too Long To Charge

Problem: Hi there, I have a samsung galaxy s6. Recently I have been having problems when it’s charging it would normally take 1 hour to fully charge now it’s taking up to 5 hours or even 7. I’ve tried different chargers and it’s still the same. What else can I do?

Solution: Your phone should only take a little over an hour to fully charge from a drained state. If it takes 7 hours to fully charge then something is affecting the charging status of the device which we will be checking by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing each step proceed with checking if the issue still occurs and if it does you should proceed to the next step.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord.
  • Try using a different wall charger. Make sure that the charger has an output of 2.0A.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any app yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then your phone might need a new battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: I have a Galaxy s6 and about four days ago, I charged it and after I took it off the phone turned off and I have not been able to turn it back on. I’ve tried pressing all these different buttons at once and nothing. I read somewhere that using a different cable to charge it can cause this so perhaps that is the problem. I tried using the original charger but it won’t charge at all.

Related Problem: I have a galaxy s6 gold and i left it to charge overnight and in the morning i woke up and i didn’t turn on. I woke up at night while the phone was charging and it was updating and when i woke up and it didn’t turn on it’s been like 3 months and i’ve used like 3 different chargers and they all won’t work the the galaxy but will work on other phones.

Solution: If you didn’t use the original charging cord to charge your phone then the cord that you used might have caused this problem. Usually, these third party cords ( especially the cheap ones) have low quality and can sometimes damage the device. What you will want to do right now is to press and hold the power and volume down button first for at least 10 seconds. This is a simulated battery pull and your phone should restart after this. If you still get no response from your phone then proceed with the following steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its original charging cord and wall charger.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Battery Draining Quickly And Shutting Off

Problem: Hi I have been having problems with my Samsung galaxy s6. It has been showing my battery is draining really quickly and shutting off and when I turn it back on the battery has dropped by 50% then will shut off again and again

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if some software glitch is causing the problem by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded that is aggressively running. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • If the problem still occurs in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could be caused by a faulty battery that needs to be replaced.

S6 Went Black Not Responding

Problem: Phone went black and won’t respond/turn on at all. it has done this several times over the last couple of months but would always reboot/restart using the volume down and power keys. yesterday it did this several times in a short period and now will do nothing. please send explosives or a large hammer.. thanks for your time

Related Problem: my husband has a galaxy s6 that we got in February and today our daughter was playing a game on the phone and then it went to a black screen..I tried to shut it off, restarting it with the volume up key, home key and power key all pressed down…it shows the key lights but no display on the screen, the screen stays black…how could this be fixed?

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to charge the phone as the battery might be drained which is why it will not turn on. Follow the steps listed below for the procedure to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that’s tested to work on another device.

If you still get no response from your phone then try simulating a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: S6 fell in water and it came on as normal screen everything was working it was charging as well and I left it in a bag of rice overnight after I replaced the battery it charged to 4% it just cut off and did not come on

Solution: It appears that some component inside the phone has been water damaged, possibly the power IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: Hello! I have a Samsung galaxy s6 model. a few months ago I dropped my phone and was never able to turn it back on. I plug it to charge and the battery icon appears sometimes it states it 95%, other times it says 0%, when I try to turn it on, the welcome screen opens up but then it shuts off again and going back to the battery icon. I really just want to retrieve my contacts, I need a phone number urgently. I tried to use fonelab but it is blocked by the frp lock. I read one of your previous answers on how to remove the frp but it will involve deleting all data from my phone, which will be no use to me since I need a phone number that is stored. how can I retrieve my contacts from my phone? I very much appreciate your help.

Solution:  The drop might have affected the way a component inside the phone works resulting in this issue. The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that have been tested to work on another device. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not turn on then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Notification Sound Too Low

Problem: I have just gotten the Samsung Galaxy S6. I love it but notifications suck. I have an app ringtone for phone calls because I did not like the choices they have. That sound is fine. The ones I am having trouble with are the sound notifications for text message, email, and facebook. I thought I had checked all of them and from what I see, they seem to be set properly. Not being familiar with this phone, I could have missed something. I can barely hear those three. If I did not see the light blinking, I would not know I had a message from either of them. I have not taken the  battery out..did not know I could. Some phones won’t let you. If I should do that first let me know.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check the sound setting of the phone and make sure that it is set properly.

  • Tap the Settings icon.
  • Scroll to, then tap Sounds and notifications.
  • Adjust the volume for notifications and make sure that it is set to its maximum level

In case the notification is still too low then you should try changing the notification tones to a different one that sounds louder.

S6 Overheating Error After Getting Wet

Problem: Hey, I dropped my s6 in a bowl of water, then proceeded to shake the phone to get as much water out as possible. Then after awhile of use, the device said it was overheating, it said 60-70 degrees Celsius but sometimes it wasn’t to the touch but other times it was. I put it in rice for a while, maybe 20 minutes, I was never sure how long to leave it in there for, but I took it out yet it still said it was overheating, I then resorted to put it in the fridge because I wasn’t sure what to do, after that i put it on charge and it turned on, but it said it wasnt charging because it was still overheating, it powered off by itself after 10 seconds like it said it would for overheating, I left it for maybe one or two or so hours, when i tried to turn it on, nothing happens, nor when i put it on charge and try and turn it on, nothing happens, yet when I press the volume down with the home button and the power button to put it do download phone, it works fine.

Solution: It’s very likely that moisture is present inside the phone which is causing this problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done wipe the phone then turn it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the problem still occurs then a component inside the phone could be water damaged. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stuck In Call Modes

Problem: After making 1 call, the phone will think it is still on a call and no further calls will go through. When I use the volume button on the side, it will change the call volume, even when there is no call and i have media playing. Sometimes, when the sound seems to be working properly while using headphones, if I unlock the phone, the sound will skip, get quieter, and the volume buttons will again adjust call volume, not media playing. I cant play my recorded videos as it says “cannot play media during call” even though I’m not actually on a call. These all seem to be symptoms of the phone thinking it is on a call and thus sound and media controls behave incorrectly. This problem has persisted for well over a year and through many phone updates.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by some form of software glitch. Follow the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.

  • Clear the cache and data of the phone app then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Black Screen With Blinking Green LED

Problem: I got my phone in China almost three years ago. Last Friday morning, my charged phone had a black screen with the green LED light blinking, I try “volume +, power button and home button” together but did not work, when I took it to a store later that day, the LED light was off too. I charged my phone in the store for few minutes but nothing came out. They did a diagnostic test on it and could not do anything with it. Today, I brought it home and was trying one of the bottoms fix(maybe volume- and power bottom), the LED light turned on again but with a pink/purple glowing light on. Then I could not do anything with it again. The light is on all the time. (not sure about the android version but not the latest one).

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to first make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Connect the phone to its charger then charge it for at least 20 minutes. Once this is done disconnect the charger then try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not turn on then I recommend starting it in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Is Black

Problem: I’m sort of clumsy, so I’ve dropped my phone  a few times before. Recently, however, it just started randomly turning itself off or resetting. Just today, my phone turned itself off and when I try to turn it on, a colorful but concerning looking rectangle flashes on the left side of my screen for a moment. Sometimes the indicator light is on and sometimes the phone still vibrates, but the screen is completely black.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then perform a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue still occurs after this then you should have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S6 Takes Too Long To Charge

Problem: My phone wouldn’t charge with my alternate cables so I tried the original charger but it takes 7 hours to charge from 30%. I restarted the phone, tried two alternate cables, tried a different plug, tried charging on my pc and cleaning the inside of the phone but only the original Samsung charger worked and even then I had to wiggle it around for it to start charging. I also tried to speed up the charger by using fast charging but doesn’t work. Any ideas?

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by a faulty phone charging port. Have this checked at a service center and if it is found to be defective then you should have the port replaced.

S6 Shuts Down Doesn’t Work

Problem: My phone, samsung galaxy s6 shut down and doesn’t work. It was always trouble to charge this phone, sometimes it was charging so slowly, after whole night it was 26% and etc, but right now it is just dead Please help me to troubleshoot. It has reaction when i am blowing in a port and after that phone starting charging but turning off immediately.

Solution: For issues such as this it’s always best to start the troubleshooting by making sure that the charging port of the phone is clear of any debris or dirt. Clean the port using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger that is known to work. Check if the phone has a charging indicator and if the battery percentage increases. Turn on your phone. If the phone still does not turn on or charge properly then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Turned Off When Dropped

Problem: I read on your website that you can ask phone questions here. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 that turned off when I dropped it (this has happened several times. It will show that it is charging when I put it on the charger. When it got full, it would blink the grey battery icon, and it would go in intervals of 10 seconds between lighting up, following by two 5 second intervals between light ups. It cycles through this. I’ve tried various manual resets (power+volume down, pwr+vol. down+home, etc…) Any recommendations?

Solution: Have you tried starting the phone in recovery mode? If you can access this mode then I suggest that you perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the issue persist then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as some internal component might have been affected by the drop.

S6 Randomly Turns Off Or On

Problem: Hi. I hope you can help me with this. Recently I noticed my galaxy s6 (4 months old and no problems) was switched off – power fully off. I hadn’t switched it off and it had never done this before. I switched it back on, battery was 65%, then I switched it off again and left it about 3 hours. Next time I looked at it, it was back on again. Could this happen randomly or is it more likely that someone else has turned it off and back on? Thanks

Solution: If no other person has access to your phone then the problem could be caused by some phone glitch. Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then observe if you experience the same issue in this mode. If your phone works normally in this mode with no problems then the issue could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. What this does is it erases the temporary system data which if corrupt can cause this problem.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If after the reset the issue remains then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: The other night I dropped my galaxy s6 the blue notification light it’s pulsating from blue to lighter color. I’ve tried holding the power button and down button also with the up button and home key nothing has worked I got it to charge the slightest bit and have the charging light and Everytime I do hear it start up it cuts off in the middle of the sound and it’s still completely black, I don’t feel like this fall could have broke my phone because with my previous s6 it withstood so much more torture

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if a glitch in the software is causing the problem by starting the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so you should have a backup copy of it.

If the above step fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Overheated Won’t Charge

Problem: S6 says overheated and won’t charge. The phone is quite cold to touch. I’ve used several wires and 3 different plugs. doesn’t find phone on laptop. Plug In looks like charging then 5 seconds watercraft charge overheated.

Solution: Try restarting the phone then check if the issue still remains. If it does then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it.
  • Try charging the phone using different charging cords and chargers.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset don’t install any app yet. Check first if your phone will charge.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Turning On Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is a 2016 flagship model that offers several outstanding features. Built mostly with metal and glass parts, this device has a very slick and modern design. It does however come with a non-removable battery which means that you won’t be able to replace the battery easily. This won’t be a problem though since the phone has proven to be dependable as a daily driver. There are however instances when power related  issues can occur on this device. This is what we will address today as we tackle the Galaxy S6 not turning on issue & other related problems.

Galaxy S6 Not Turning On

Problem: I was Kayaking and a friend tipped our kayak. My phone was in a backpack but got a bit wet. Once back on the kayak I checked my phone and it has turned off. I tried to turn it back on it didn’t work, but the phone was hot. I went home and put it in rice overnight. I checked the trigger and it is still white,so it claims no water damage, but I still can’t get the phone to turn on.I tried plugging it into a charger it still was unresponsive. Now it’s sitting in rice again. I’m not sure what to do, I don’t care about buying a new phone but I want this one to turn on even once, just so I can get all of my information off of it. My phone has my whole life on it. Please help.

Solution: The fact that the phone got hot while it got a bit wet is an indication that moisture might have entered the phone and has caused some component inside to heat up possibly due to a short circuit. To troubleshoot this issue on your end make sure that the moisture inside the phone has been taken out first. Placing the phone in a bag of rice is a good start, make sure to leave it here for at least 48 hours.

Once the phone is dry you should clean the charging port using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could be in this port. Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes then attempt to turn on your phone.  If the phone turns on then you should proceed with backing up your phone data.

If the phone does not turn on then you should bring it to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that you might just need to replace its battery.

S6 Won’t Charge Past 70%

Problem: Hello. My samsung galaxy s6 won’t charge after 70%. I tried everything, the soft rest, safe mode, clear cache, different cables. It still won’t work. I don’t understand what the problem is and i can’t find any proper solution. I can’t replace my phone. I need a fix please. I can’t change the battery as S6 doesn’t have the option . Any help would be great. Thank you.

Solution: It looks like you have already performed several troubleshooting steps already to fix this issue. Since the problem has not been resolved try cleaning the charging port of your phone first with a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could affect the charging process.

One troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. I recommend that you have the battery replaced first as this might be causing the issue.

S6 Stopped Charging

Problem: the phone stopped charging and my friend contacted tech support and they said they thought it was the charging port. ordered and replaced the charging port, but all I get now is a steady white light..? tried button sequences to reboot/reset the device but get no response. What else could be wrong/can I try. my friend mainly wants to recover pictures etc.

Solution: Was the port replacement done by your friend and not at a service center? There might have been a connection or component affected during the replacement which is now causing the steady white light issue. Try connecting the phone first to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch. If it can be detected then the phone data can be retrieved.

If the phone is not detected by Kies or Smart Switch then you should try opening the phone again then retrace the steps that was done. Make sure that all connectors are secured in place as well. If possible you will also need to replace the charging port with the old one to verify if this is what’s causing the problem.

If the issue doesn’t get resolved then I recommend that you bring it to a service center so that it can be thoroughly examined.

S6 Freezes Turns Off

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s6 keeps freezing then turning off and is very had to turn back on. 2 days ago my phone froze then turned itself off and hasn’t shown any life in it whatsoever.

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. To do this follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw.
  • Charge the phone for 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.

Disconnect the phone from its charger then attempt a simulated battery pull by simultaneously pressing and holding down the power and volume down key for at least 20 seconds.

If you still get no response from the device try to check if you can access the recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I recommend doing a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: i dropped my galaxy s6 active on the floor and instantly went to a black screen and there is a blue light in the left hand corner that is still on since dropping it. I came home and charged the phone and tried to restart it or reboot it with no luck whatsoever. it won’t do anything

Solution: It looks like a component inside your phone was affected by the drop. The battery might have gotten loose or some component might have been damaged. To  pinpoint the exact cause of this problem I recommend you bring your phone to a service center since it has to be opened up.

S6 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: Since downloading and playing Pokemon Go, my fast charger no longer works, it appears to be an issue with the phone given it doesn’t fast charge (although will charge) on a confirmed to be working fast charger.

Solution: You can confirm if it is indeed the Pokemon Go app that is causing this problem by uninstalling it in your phone. Once the app has been uninstalled try to check if the phone fast charging feature works. If it still does not work follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Make sure the port does not have any dirt or debris present.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord.
  • Make sure the phone screen if off when fast charging your phone.
  • Check if the phone gets hot when attempting to fast charge it. If it heats up then fast charging won’t work to protect the battery.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 With Cracked Screen Not Turning On

Problem: I dropped my phone and the screen shattered. It was still working fine. After 2 weeks, my phone just turned off while on the charger. I tried to reset it and keep it on the charger and it still won’t turn on. Can you tell me what’s going on?

Solution: There could be various reasons why this issue is happening. One primary suspect is that it might be related to the cracked screen issue that you have. Try to perform the usual troubleshooting steps first that needs to be done when a phone does not charge.

  • Clean the charging port using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw.
  • Use a different charging cord
  • Use a different wall charger.

If the phone still does not turn on then you should bring it to a service center and have it checked.
