S6 Won’t Power On After Charging

Problem: My S6 won’t turn on. I had it charged last night and the battery was in 40%. The next day, when I tried to switch it on, it just wont power on. I also tried to charge it thinking that maybe it has empty battery. But it doesn’t also charge and there’s no red LED indicator flashing at the upper right.

Solution: What you will need to do first in this case is eliminate the possibility that the charger is causing the problem. Try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes. It’s also best if you clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air before charging it.

If you still get no response from your device then try simulating a battery pull. Unplug the phone from its charger then simultaneously press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If all goes well your phone should restart.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Power Button Not Working

Problem: Recently my side power button on my Samsung Galaxy S6 has stopped working. Everything was going fine until my phone died and it can’t turn on without the aide power button. So I got some instruction from online and it told me to hold volume down button and home button then connect USB cable to a computer. It worked and the phone turned to a blue screen with a download mode. The instructions then told to press the volume down button and that will allow me to restart my phone but it’s stuck on this blue screen. I don’t know what to do at this point. Please help. Thanks!

Solution: There’s really not much you can do right now unless the power button is repaired. This is important as it allows you to restart the phone or access the recovery mode for instance. I’d recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have the power button fixed.

S6 Turns Off Quickly Then Goes To Boot Loop

Problem: Hello and thank you in advance. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. Out of nowhere it stopped holding a charge. When I plug it in to charge the battery indicator goes from 0% to 100% very quickly but turns off completely and is unresponsive when unplugged. Also, the phone will reach the att globe but never reaches the home screen before restarting. It continues to restart over and over but never gets past the att symbol. I’ve done soft resets, safe mode, and a heart breaking hard reset but to no avail. Thanks again

Solution: This particular issue appears to be caused either by a faulty battery or faulty power IC. To pinpoint the exact cause of this problem I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Charger Is Connecting And Disconnecting

Problem: Hi a problem just started. at first the phone started being a bit glitchy. then the charger started disconnecting, like connecting for a couple of seconds then disconnecting. so I thought i’d try to power down the device and start it back up again. when I turned it off it went to a download screen which didn’t change. It also had a little rom info in the top left corner. not sure what the problem is, the phone is still under factory warranty, should I just send it back or can I correct the problem myself?  Thanks

Solution: You can try troubleshooting this problem first by starting with a battery pull. Simultaneously press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the phone still starts in download mode then try to check if you can start the phone in recovery mode. From here there are two things that you can do.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone. This erases the temporary system data which could be causing the problem.
  • Factory reset your phone. Take note that all of your data will be erased if you do this so make sure to have a backup copy.

Regarding the charging issue you can try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should now consider sending the phone back.

S6 Will Not Turn On Using Power Button

Problem: Phone Samsung S6 will not turn by using the power button. Also, while on the charge the phone only shows 82% battery life. Phone will not stay on when disconnected from the charger. I have done a hard/soft factory reset and rebooted in safe mode nothing seems to have worked unless the phone stays on the charger. I was using Google search while at the store and it just cutoff . Ever since then the phone will not turn on by itself. Phone will not do any updates.

Solution: Since you have already done troubleshooting on the software then this issue is either caused by a faulty battery or faulty power IC. If this is the case then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: Hello I have a Samsung galaxy s6. The phone is nearly a year old and all of a sudden my phone went from 40% to 0% and died. I plugged it in, I have used a couple different chargers. The screen shows it is at 34% and leave it for a while and turn it on and it dies immediately. I tried to do a soft reset with no results. Has my battery just gone bad? Help!

Related Problem: I have the Black Samsung Galaxy S6, and I have had it for about a year now and it wont charge or turn on. It started out showing power and a certain percent then it drop dramatically and when I put it back on the charger it would go back up. Then I turned it on and it shut off and it wouldn’t charge again.

Related Problem: my phone one day just shut off then when I went to plug it in the phone would show its charging but then glitch out and the screen will go black. Then it will go through that cycle until I take it off the charger. When I turn it on it will show the Samsung logo then glitch out and turn black then do the charging cycle. I can get the phone to go to download mode but only when on charger. I have tried soft and hard reset but it’s not working. Please help

Solution: It looks like the phone could have a faulty battery. This, or the power IC of the phone is failing to work properly. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Turns Off On Its Own Even If Fully Charged

Problem: My phone turned off on its own last night even though it was fully charged. This morning I unplugged the phone from the charger but the “battery charging” light stayed on for 1 1/2 hours. The phone won’t turn on and won’t respond to any buttons pressed.

Solution: Can you try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the phone remains unresponsive then I suggest that you bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Won’t Turn On After Replacing Battery

Problem: Hi! I just replaced my samsung s6 battery myself but now i’m finding that the device won’t turn on with both the new and old battery. The red indicator light that indicates that its charging is on but when i press the power button, the buttons near the home button at the bottom flashes but nothing comes up on the screen.  what could my possible problem be? is it that i haven’t installed the battery correctly? Have i damaged the motherboard in some way?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Solution: There’s a possibility that you might have affected some component inside the phone while doing the battery replacement. There’s also the possibility that this might just be caused by a software glitch which we will be checking right now by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the new battery is installed in the phone.
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air, Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger that’s tested to work on another device.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the phone does not turn on then the problem could be caused by a hardware component that got damaged or it could also be caused by a loose connection between the battery and the motherboard. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Keeps On Restarting

Problem: hello, i have a galaxy s6 and my friend changed my EMEI and rooted my phone with supersu and then i couldn’t update my phone so i uninstalled the supersu after a reboot the device is not starting up it just shows my phone model and then restarts again. thanks

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then perform both steps listed below. Take note that your phone data will be erased in the process.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone
  • Perform a factory reset

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to flash the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: Samsung galaxy s6. Was working fine then just switched off. Tried charging but nothing shows. Sometimes red light comes on at top and sometimes blue. Gets warm at top. Sometimes white logos at bottom light up but then go off.

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

In case the phone does not turn on then you should try starting the phone from the recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Charging After Drop

Problem: I dropped galaxy s6, it showed no physical damage and was still powered on. It worked great for a while, couple hours at least. After some time it suddenly dropped to 0% battery and powered down. I plugged it into wall to try and charge it, it stayed at 0%. I thought it was broke so switched phones. Jump forward 2 weeks decide to plug it back in, it powered up, showed 100% battery and work as it should. After about a day of great performance the phone suddenly jumps back to 0% and does not change once plugged into wall. Please help if possible…

Solution: The drop might have damaged the battery or has loosened its connection to the motherboard. The best troubleshooting that you can do in this particular case is to first check if the issue is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will need to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above step fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be a hardware related issue.

S6 Not Connecting To Mobile Data

Problem: The main problem I am having with it is that it will not connect to mobile data. I’ll be somewhere where I know I have 4g coverage, but my phone says there is no signal at all. At the same time this started happening I noticed that the “Checking device status” bar at the top would never go away, so I would assume that is related. I’ve tried updating the PRL but it says that it can’t because a session is already in progress. I also tried a factory reset but that did not help either. My phone will also randomly restart itself and it will freeze and turn off.

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center then have it checked.

S6 Wi-Fi Not Working

Problem: I have tried everything from reboot to factory reset. My wifi connection states that it is turning on but after that does nothing. Now my phone is factory reset and wont let me get past the second part of connecting to wifi to finish the processing part so now i am stuck on the starting frame . Samsung galaxy s6. And i have no carriers.

Solution: It’s very likely that the Wi-Fi chip of the phone is damaged. If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Unauthorized Actions Have Been Detected Issue

Problem: My phone has the unauthorized error via samsung knox.  I purchased this galaxy S6 on eBay.  It is possible that the phone is rooted, whatever that mean.  Anyway, i am unable to find a solution to have it removed or disabled.  I have already tried a package disabler, no avail. “Unauthorized action have been detected restart your device to undo any unauthorized changes”

Solution: If you are able to manually check for an update then you need to do this and update your phone software. In case this doesn’t work then the best thing to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode and from here perform both steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone
  • Perform a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails then you will have to manually flash the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Turning On With Red LED Light Issue & Other Related Problems

What’s it like using the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 two years after its initial release? It’s still a great phone actually and with the release of Android Nougat to this model it has become a better phone compared to when it was first released. It can still compete and can sometimes outperform some of the latest smartphones today thanks to its hardware and software combination. Although a lot of people are using this phone as their reliable daily driver there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 not turning on with Red LED light issue & other related problems.

S6 Not Turning On With Red LED Light

Problem: Hi! My android was sitting in a desk drawer for a few hours today and when i pulled it out the screen wouldn’t turn on and the red LED was permanently stuck on. I tried to restart it by holding down the buttons in different orders, which i found online. Just wondering if there was something specific i could try?

Solution: When the red LED light of your phone emits a constant glow then this means that the phone is charging. If you haven’t connected the charger to the phone and this is happening then it’s likely that this could be caused by a software glitch or a faulty hardware component. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to perform for this particular case. After performing a step and the issue remains then proceed to the next step.

  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone should restart after this.
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any debris or dirt stuck in this port is removed. Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes then try turning it on.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You will then need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Gets Hot When Charging Not Booting Up

Problem: hi wondering whether you could help me my wife has a samsung s6 phone. the problem with the phone is when on charge or when using the phone, the phone gets very hot. now the phone won’t boot up at all. I’ve tried rebooting it but with no go , all so tried the os systems but that does not work at all. Can You Help. thanks

Solution: If your phone gets hot when it is being used or charged then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the battery. Before bringing the phone to a service center for checking you should perform the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue which are listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. Disconnect the phone from its charger then try turning it on.

If the above steps don’t work then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: Thank you so much for your service!! My s6 can’t turn on.. i’ve tried all ways as seen online to turn it on like hold the power button, holding power button with down volume key.. and with home button key.. nothing works.. it won’t budge. i went to the Samsung help centre and they just tried turning it on and concluded that i would need to repair my phone for $300+ and all the things inside would disappear.. that’s just exploiting man.. May i know what i can do? I want whatever is inside my phone. Thanks.

Solution: Right now what you can do is very limited since you won’t be able to open the phone yourself. You can try cleaning the charging port of the phone first then charge the device for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If you get no response from the phone then the battery might be faulty or the power IC might not be working at all. You will need to bring the phone to a service center that does board level repairs and have your phone checked.

S6 Shuts Off When Not In Use

Problem: My S6 shuts off when not in use. So as long as I’m active on the phone it doesn’t shut off. But whenever I’m not using it, even for a few minutes, whenever I attempt to use it I realise it’s off . It shut off when I had android version 5 and I did the software update to 7 and it still is

Solution: What you will want to do first right now is to check if the problem is caused by some form of software glitch. Perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Is Not Charging

Problem: My s6 is more than a year old but suddenly it stopped charging the battery showed the indication when the charger was connected bt it did not charge. instead the battery kept discharging.i changed the chargers and the switch too but even when the battery was 0 percent ,it gave the indication of charging but the battery remained 0 percent.and now even the indication of charging does not appear.the screen remains black on connecting to charger. Does the battery need to be changed or is there some other problem?

Solution: It’s possible that the battery of the phone is already faulty or the problem could be with the charging IC of the phone. The best way to determine the exact cause of this problem is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

You should however perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below before bringing in your phone for repair as the problem might be fixed easily.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.

S6 Touchscreen Is Unresponsive

Problem: Samsung Galaxy S6 touchscreen has become unresponsive after sitting out in the heat. However all other buttons work such as power, home and volume.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. Restart your phone after this then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then it’s very likely that the digitizer of your phone is damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Fast Charging Not Working After System Update

Problem: Hi, My S6 just had a system update on 9/29/2016. After this update the fast charging does not work any more. It now takes 5-6 hours to fully charge my phone (according to the estimate notice when plugged for charge). The problem persists after I make sure doing the followings. I had fast charging in setting turned on I used fast charging adapter I tried different fast charging adapters of my wife and kids, but same problem I tried restart and turned off/on after the system update on 9/29/16 Please help. Thank you.

Solution: The fast charging feature of this phone allows the battery to be charged quickly by increasing the charging power. There are some conditions that have to be met for this to work.

  • The screen or the phone should be off.
  • You can’t use the standard charger to fast charge the phone. Instead, use the Adaptive Fast Charging charger.

If you have already enabled the fast charging feature of the phone and have made sure that the fast charger is working then you should check if this problem is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from your device during the update. To do this just backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. You should first check if the fast charging feature now works.

S6 Slow Charging After Getting Wet

Problem: I was about to take a dip in the ocean when i brought my phone with me. I put in inside a sealed sling bag so that it won’t get wet. However, few minutes later, when I tried to use the camera, it’s blinking and I noticed that the bag already has moisture inside. So I immediate took it inside our boat. That time it turned itself down already so I just wrap in a cloth and soak in rice for 54 hours. i decided to try turning it on after such, it’s working normally. After 4 hours since the battery is already dead, I tried charging it. My charger is a fast charging one. Normally my phone is already full in an hour but this time it’s already 30 minutes and it’s still in 11%. I wasn’t able to make it to full charging because I was on a trip that time. I unplug it when t reached 26%. I turned it of again after such. Does this mean that something is wrong with my phone still? I soak it in rice again after 12 hours when I got home in the hope that the next time I turned it on, I will charge like the usual.

Solution: It’s very likely that water has entered the phone and caused some damage to certain components inside. One way to check for water damage is by checking the liquid damage indicator sticker. Open the SIM tray slot of your phone. The sticker should be inside on the left corner of the frame. You should view this with the display facing up and the power button facing you. If this sticker is red or pink with X marks then this is a sign of water damage. The best thing to do in this scenario is to have your phone checked at a service center that is capable of doing board level repairs.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Active from AT&T completely died today and shows no indication of receiving a charge on the fast-charger it came with or my old S5 charger. The power key and volume combination for a forced reboot worked just once on the old conventional charger but immediately turned back off and is now once again showing no indication of even being on a charger. I’ve tried multiple electrical outlets, even plugging the cable into my iMac to charge and still nothing. I just did the software update(G890A) to Android version 6.0.1 yesterday over a reliable high-speed WiFi connection, no issues with that, just this. Please help.

Solution: If a simulated battery pull fails to turn on the phone and using different chargers doesn’t work then this might be a battery related issue. Since the phone has a non-user replaceable battery I’d recommend that you bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Wireless Charging Not Working

Problem: My S6 has suddenly stopped recognizing wireless charging. The option isn’t even available in the settings mode. It’s like it’s disappeared. Any ideas?  I now have a wireless charger that’s useless.

Related Problem: I’ve had my Galaxy S6 for almost 2.5 yrs and suddenly the wireless charging has slowed down tremendously.  It previously said less than 2 hours to charge from about 20%, not it is saying 3 hours or longer.

Solution: There are several factors that can affect the wireless charging speed of your phone. The first thing to consider is the wireless charger itself.  Make sure to use a wireless charger that is known to work. If your phone has a case installed then try removing it as this case might be interfering with the charging process.

Another step you can try is what’s called as the Daydream solution. This prevents your phone from going to sleep when charging.

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap Display
  • Tap Daydream
  • Make sure that the Daydream option is turned on
  • Select your preferred Daydream visual
  • Select More in the top right corner of the Daydream screen
  • Tap Select when to daydream
  • Choose  “While Charging” or “Both”

S6 Losing Charge Even When Connected To Charger

Problem: My phone when turned off to put on charge loses charge rather than gain it and this issue has only started today, it was fine before that and the phone is only two years old though the rubber casing of the charger is starting to break but it has been like that for months and has had no impact as such. Since today, I put the phone to charge on 93 and it goes back to 57 even though it’s off. What should I do? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first since dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port can cause charging problems. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw.

When charging the phone try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the problem still persist try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: Have a Galaxy S6. When charging it used to show the words “Fast Charging” for about 1 year. Then all of the suddenly it only display “Cable Charging” and this charge very slow as normal charging takes about 5-6 hours. For fast charging used to be only takes about 45 mins. Note: this issue happened not too long after the new update. I tried many other chargers and still not Fast Charging, only normal charging is working. I’m not sure which android version but it’s the latest one in around August 2016. The setting is seen checked as Fast Charging on the phone too.

Related Problem:  Hi, I’ve been using my S6 for 1.5 years and currently experiencing minor charging issues. I’ve been looking around on the forum but could not find people with the same problem as me. My phone charged fine with the fast charging mode. However, when I turned the fast charging mode on, the phone cannot be charged. I first thought it was the cable or adapter issues, so I bought a new charging set from samsung. But, the problem still occurs. Any idea how to fix this issues?

Solution: There are several things that you need to check in order to determine why the phone isn’t fast charging. Before doing any troubleshooting I recommend that you clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air first. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that’s in this port as this could interfere with the charging process.

Follow the steps listed below to fix this issue. Move to the next step should the issue still remain after performing a step.

  • Try using a different charging cord. This cord gets easily damaged especially if it is constantly coiled or bent and the one you are using might be causing this problem.
  • Try using a different adaptive fast charger. You can also use a Quick Charge 2.0 certified charger
  • To check if the update is causing this problem I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Normal Charging Takes Too Long

Problem: I’m using a Galaxy S6. Whenever I turn off the fast charging mode, and use the original cable and plug given, charging my phone takes an extremely long time. (Typically 6 hours for 40%) Is there any way to fix this?

Solution: You will have to perform similar troubleshooting steps as the issue we have addressed above. The first thing you have to do is to clean the phone’s charging port. The reason behind this is that dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port can interfere with the charging process. Next, try to isolate the charger as this might be causing the problem. Use a different charging cord then check if the phone charges normally. Try also to use a different wall charger. If the problem persists then proceed with checking the phone itself. For now what you can do is to check if the phone software is causing the problem. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps yet in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem could be caused by an issue with the charging port of your phone or battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Water Damaged Works When Connected To Charger

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s6 has water damage for almost 3 months now. It didn’t work at all. But now when I put it in the charger it works after 20 min! But when I put it out, it will shut down. What is this and can I do something about it?

Solution: This is very likely a hardware related issue already that’s caused by either a defective component in the phone or a faulty battery caused by contact with water. The best way to assess the exact cause of this problem is to have the phone examined at a service center that can perform board level repairs.

S6 Turns Off When Not Connected To Charger

Problem: Hi, My samsung s6 suddenly turn off when I unplugged the battery.  I’ve tried to restart it by press the volume up & down button and screen off button at the same time,  previously it worked when I had the same problem. but now it doesn’t work anymore. the LED light keep turn on, but it doesn’t blink.

Solution: Does the phone only turn on when it is connected to a charger? If it does then the problem could be caused by faulty or weak battery. Since this phone has a non-user removable battery I suggest you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: my galaxy s6 won’t turn on and charge  after I left it on charging for about 20 min , then I looked at it , it’s very hot and not charged , I turned it off , and after a few minute I try to turn it on , but it won’t turn on

Solution: For this issue you need to simulate a battery pull first. To do this just press and hold both the power key and volume down key for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t restart then try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris gets removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try to turn on your phone.

If the issue still occurs then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Reaching 100% Charge

Problem: My samsung Galaxy s6 for past few days won’t charge beyond 89%, I use the original fast adapted plug and at 89% it states 1 minute until fully charges however it just doesn’t reach to 100.

Solution: There are three things that needs to be checked in this particular situation. These are the charger, the phone hardware, and the phone software.

Before doing any troubleshooting I recommend that you clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air as dirt or debris stuck in this port can usually cause this kind of problem.

  • Charger: Try using a different charger and charging cord. This allows you to easily check if the charger is causing the problem.
  • Phone: Right now what you can do is check if the phone software is causing this problem. For this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you have the battery checked at a service center.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Reboots After Starting Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is a former flagship device released in 2015 that started the trend of the company using glass and metal components in their high end smartphones. S6 Reboots After Starting

Problem: after having my phone run completely dead and then fully recharging the phone goes all the way through boot and is fully usable but only for about 30 seconds to a minute. in that time i can access apps etc. but will then reboot continuously only giving the same short amount of usage. will also reboot if no action is taken. I have tried soft reset, booting in safe mode, and clearing the cache with no change. Please help

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the reset does not complete because the phone reboots then ty connecting the phone to its charger when doing the factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Is Not Charging

Problem: I’m using Samsung s6 my charger in not charging . I have tried with other chargers my phone is working with them and even my usb is working but that fast charger adapter is not working so what should I do plz tell me it been only 9 months I have bought this phone plz urgent

Solution: If your phone charges when you use other chargers then the adaptive fast charger that you are using might be defective. Try using a different charging cord with this charger. If the issue remains then you will need to replace your charger with a new one.

S6 Software Update Does Not Complete

Problem: I done an update on my phone, the update gets to 31% then reboots. I have tried resetting but nothing happens. It keeps going back to the update. I can’t do anything in with the phone as its stuck on this update.

Solution: Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then proceed with a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should try updating your phone using Smart Switch.

S6 Unfortunately Gallery Has Stopped

Problem: In my Gallery, one album keeps closing with an error message that says “Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped”. I do have over 2k photos in this particular album (I use this for work), and I can’t get in there to delete any images. I have tried everything from deleting other entire albums to maybe create more space; I’ve cleared the cache; restarted my phone.. I don’t know how to fix this. I was wondering if I should attempt to clear data from the app, but I’m concerned that this may wipe my gallery clean. I could really use some advice ~ Thank you!!

Solution: The best thing to do right now to fix the problem is to clear the cache and data of the gallery app. You don’t have to worry about losing your photos as this procedure will not delete your photos as it will just clear the temporary data of the gallery app and reset it to its default settings.

In case the issue still occurs then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Apps Randomly Close

Problem: Everytime I use an app on my phone it closes itself. Or it all open other apps or the app settings. I checked all of it. I’ve done everything to clear it. I’ve even done a factory reset, and It is continuing to do this.

Solution: Try to check if your phone is running on the latest software version and if it isn’t then I suggest that you update your phone.

In case the phone software is already updated and the issue still remains then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Can’t Make Calls

Problem: I can’t call out or recieve calls. Service bars is present and if calls go through I can’t hear anything and no audio goes through the other line. My phone is a T-Mobile unlocked with AT&T service and brought it to at&t to check out. Everything looks good on their end and swapped out sim card. I can however text out and receive text.

Solution: If there is nothing wrong with the service or the SIM card then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Try to check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Display Unresponsive After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi,   I have similar problem like other. I dropped my phone in water and quickly dried it completely. Further, I stored it in a rice bag to absorb moisture. After charging the phone back, the phone is on but the display is unresponsive. Is there any solution to this. Thank you in advance.

Solution: If you have already placed the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours and the display is still unresponsive then try to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. This way you can check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. Take note though that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above step fails to fix the problem then it’s likely that the phone is water damaged. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Unresponsive After Getting Wet

Problem: I am not 100% sure that I have given the right android system because I do not know and I hope it doesn’t matter. My S6 with a cracked screen got wet and now the back and forward buttons as well as touch are unresponsive. The only buttons that works is the lock button and the volume ones. This has happened before but usually it was just the touch screen that didn’t work and it would solve itself over time. This time the forward and back buttons are not working either. The cracks are not deep

Solution: It appears that liquid might have entered the crack in the screen and has affected some components of the phone. The best thing that you can do right now is to turn off the phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: Hi, so I had set my phone down to sign some paperwork and by the time I was finished and picked it back up it was dead. I held the power button down and nothing – before it died it had 80%. Once I got to my car I plugged it in to see if my battery died for some reason. It started up how it typically does but once I got to my encryption code it started to just continuously restart. Eventually it just died and I’ve not been able to turn it on since. My husband tried resetting it but nothing still. Thoughts?

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Check if the phone restarts.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the issue persists at this point then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

No longer using a plastic construction, this phone now uses a more premium glass and metal material. Its finely crafted body makes the phone  great to hold and use. S6 Heats Up Randomly Not Turning On

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 started heating up randomly and it won’t turn on now. I tried all the hard resets, I tried plugging into the charger and left it for a while. It won’t even show the charging logo. However it does get slightly warm on the upper backside of the phone.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to  do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once you have made sure that the port is clean try charging the phone for a least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case thone phone still gets warm or does not charge then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Is Black With Blue Flashing Light After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone this afternoon and the screen turned black, with the blue light flashing. I tried to reboot by pressing the volume key, the power key and home key together, but it didn’t work. I also tried several other combination of keys, but it won’t turn on either. Two hours later, the blue light disappeared, but I was not able to charge the phone or reboot it. The screen stays black. What should I do? Is it cause by a screen damage? Oh, I am also not sure which version I have, but the system was updated a few weeks ago in September. Thank you!

Solution: It appears that this could already be a hardware related problem caused by the drop. If you are able to access the recovery mode then try to do so. If the phone starts in this mode then you should try performing a factory reset as the problem might just be caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Connected Charger Is Incompatible With Phone Error

Problem: I keep getting the following error message: The connected charger is incompatible with this phone. To prevent damage to your phone,  charging has been stopped. To continue charging, use the original charger and cable that were provided with this phone. Do not show again. But I don’t have it charging or even plugged in. It could have 50% or more battery and it still will show this message sometimes. Any ideas? It shows my battery in the top right corner with a big red X on it.

Solution: Since you are experiencing the problem even if the phone is not charging then what you will want to do is to perform a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by some software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the issue still persists after the reset then try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as sometimes dirt or debris stuck in the port can cause this problem.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a damaged charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Stopped Connecting To PC

Problem: Hi A few months ago my S6 stopped connecting to my PC when connected by USB cable but was still charging the battery. It is so frustrating when I want to upload photos to my laptop because now I have to email them from my phone to myself by gmail and then download them when I open gmail on my laptop. I have searched my settings and online relentlessly but can’t find a solution and need help asap. I have been using computer since I first started using DOS 2 in the 1990s so am fairly tech savvy to  a certain level but not an expert by any means but I say this so you know I have certain skills with technology…I even used to build and sell PCs and that was before the advent of plug and play when I used to have to manually install all devices and drivers individually. Hope you can help

Solution: To connect your phone to a computer you will need to make sure that the Media Device (MTP) feature is turned on.

  • Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cord.
  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
  • Press Connected as a media device.
  • Press Media device (MTP) until the function is turned on.

It’s also best if your computer has the Smart Switch software installed so that the necessary drivers to detect your phone is present in the computer.

In case the above steps fail to work then try connecting your phone to another computer. This way you can check if the current computer that you are using is causing the problem.

One last troubleshooting step to consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then the data pin of the charging port might be faulty. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: My Galaxy S6 Active just died after 2 successful years of service without a hitch. I normally charge it at night and the phone was already above 50%. Later that evening I noticed the green light indicating it was fully charged but left it plugged in anyway. In the morning I unplugged the phone and attempted to turn it on but the phone was deader than a doornail. After 4 days, it’s still dead, unable to turn on AT ALL. How can I get it powered up just long enough to get my data of it so I can transfer it to another phone?

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone still does not turn on after this then try charging it again for at least 20 minutes. This time use a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the phone does not turn on then it might already have a faulty battery. You need to have this checked at a service center in order for you to retrieve your phone data.

S6 Camera Takes Blurry Pictures

Problem: My Galaxy S6 camera has overnight started taking blurry pics. Close-up pics (20 cm) are completely clear but anything further or closer comes out blurry. It is as if the focus got stuck on one place.  I have reset all camera settings.  Please help!

Solution: Try cleaning the camera lens using a microfiber cloth. Make sure that the lens is free from any smudges. If the photos are still blurry then try checking if the same issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the same issue occurs in Safe Mode then proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then the camera module of the phone might already be faulty. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Use The Original Charger

Problem: My phone periodically displays the error message “not charging. unable to charge. use the original charger.” even though my phone is NOT plugged in at all. I tried cleaning the charger port out with canned air, and restarting the phone several times with no luck…

Solution: If cleaning the charging port does not fix this problem then this port might have some shorted connection since the phone is giving out the error message even if it is not connected to a charger. You will however need to determine if the issue is caused by a glitch in the phone software by first backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset has been completed do not instal anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might need to have the whole charging port replaced .

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: Hello, I have a problem with my s6, I try to charge it the last time and it drain the battery. suddenly it doesn’t turn on. I tried to hold the power button, volume and the home button, but still doesn’t respond.  I went to service center here but they quoted me almost 25k that i cannot afford now, since the price of the new s6 here is around that price,. it’s to unfair. i didn’t use my s6 too much that’s why i kept wondering why it became the motherboard issue. 🙁 I hope you could help me.. thanks a lot

Solution: There could be other factors that’s causing the phone not to turn on aside from the motherboard. It could be caused by a faulty battery or the power IC of the phone might be defective. I would recommend that you have this checked at another service center.

Before bringing your phone to a service center make sure to have performed the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue which we have listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger that is known to work.
  • Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes from a computer USB port. If the phone responds to the charging then one of the pins in the charging port might be defective.
  • Try wirelessly charging your phone.
  • Simulate a battery pull by simultaneously pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds.

S6 Won’t Charge After Overheating

Problem: Hi, My samsung galaxy s6 had suffered a overheating problem while charging, keeping in mind it was hot that day, and now it won’t charge. However, when i plug it in it displays this (continue to linked image) https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_LjsvMchBnU/maxresdefault.jpg i do not know what to do.

Solution: If the phone is constantly displaying the charging image without any change for 20-30 minutes then something is preventing the phone from being charged. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.

  • Simulate a battery pull by simultaneously pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Check if the phone charges normally.
  • Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Try charging your phone.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger that is known to work.
  • If you have a wireless charger then try charging your phone wirelessly.
  • To check if this is a software related problem you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete you phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a component that is failing to work.

S6 Not turning On After Drop In Water

Problem: hi, I dropped my phone in water for seconds, I dried it out next to a heater for 24 hrs it came back on briefly for a short while but then turned off again. Now it will not turn on and when I charge it, it shows the charging icon with lightning bolt but will not rise above 0% Is there anything I can do to save my phone? I have given my husband’s Email address for contact, because I have to log into computer to check my Emails. Oh I put that I have lollipop android version but this is a complete guess sorry as I have no idea. My sim provider is giffgaff. Thank You for your help.

Solution: In cases where the phone comes into contact with water the first thing you need to do is to dry it. To do this you will need to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone and hopefully after this the phone will work. This isn’t a guaranteed solution though since once a component comes into contact with water there’s a possibility that it will get shorted.

Once you have performed the step listed above and the issue still remains then it’s either

  • The battery of the phone has shorted
  • The power IC of the phone has shorted
  • Some other component has shorted

The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stuck In Bootloop After Getting Wet

Problem: recently was given a Samsung galaxy S6 that had taken a dip in a toilet.  it has been thoroughly dried and boots up but it is stuck in a boot loop.  I did a factory reset on it. and can get to the device activation screen before it shuts down and reboots again.  camera and sim and buttons and screen all seem to function well no cracks or damage. really would like to see if this phone is salvageable. it’s on the Verizon system.

Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix this problem then chances are it’s caused by a faulty internal component, possibly caused by water contact. You should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Cooling Down Error When Charging

Problem: Every time i use my Samsung galaxy S6 for 3 minutes or more at a time, also when i attempt to charge it, it stops charging, and informs me that it is “cooling down ” because the battery is too hot. I just received the phone and the battery was low. My phone will also not charge past 17%.

Solution: Try touching your phone and check if it is hot. If it is then this is the safety measure of the phone kicking in as it prevents the battery from getting damaged. One common cause why your phone will heat up is due to some app you installed that’s causing a conflict with the system or is aggressively running in the background. You can try to find out what app this is and uninstall it or you can simply just backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

If however your phone is not hot but you are getting this message then try to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem by backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then do the following steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try charging the phone with  a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the issue still persists even after following the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Shuts Down When Battery Level Is Low

Problem: Good Day. my phone is Samsung galaxy s6. the problem is that when my battery is 15%, my phone shuts down..then when i plug in my charger it wont charge..so i restart the phone then when it opens it charges and my charge becomes 60-70% already..from 15% to 60%…is the problem on my motherboard or battery? thank you..

Solution: Before troubleshooting the hardware of your phone try checking first if the phone software is causing this issue. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then there are two other possible factors that can cause this problem. First, it could be caused by a faulty battery or second it could be caused by an internal component ( possibly the power IC) that’s failing to work. In both cases you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Getting Dunked In Pool

Problem: Hi, yesterday I accidently dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 in pool. After I take out. The screen totally went black, without drying the phone I open it again. it comes out Samsung logo and turn to home screen. After few second it turns to black screen again. Then I dry it using a towel and charge my phone. It came out charging, but didn’t write how many percent of battery left. After that, the phone can’t use it. Try to charge it for few hours also cannot turn on. Now i just put inside rice bucket…

Solution: Since this model does not have any water protection feature there’s a chance that water has entered the device and might have damaged some components. You can check the liquid damage indicator sticker located inside the SIM slot of your phone if its color has changed. Just remove the SIM tray then look into the slot. If the sticker is red or pink then your phone has been water damaged.

You can try placing the phone in rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. If after 48 hours the issue still persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: I’m not sure what android version my phone is since I can’t turn it on to check under settings. My phone died and so I plugged it in to let it charge. I turned it on and then turned it back off so it would charge faster. When it got to 2% on the phone screen, it froze in the off setting version showing the 2% charging even when I unplug it. It has shown the 2% charging sign for over 2 hours and wont turn back on.

Solution: The first thing we should concentrate on for issues such as this where the charging sign appears even when the phone is not connected to a charger is the charging port. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris that could be present in this port is removed.

Next, try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging your phone using the USB port of your computer. If you have a wireless charger available use it as well. This way we can check if the phone charges from a particular source.

If the issue remains then try to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding down both the power key and volume down key for at least 10 seconds.

One last troubleshooting step you can do is to start the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I recommend doing a factory reset. Take note that this erases your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Doesn’t Turn On

Problem: The phone S6 doesn’t turn on. Previously drained fast, started overheat and froze. As I mention, now – no signs of life. i tried all available combinations on buttons without success. I need to extract data from the phone’s memory.

Solution: We need to verify first if the battery is charged. What you will want to do first is to clean the charging port of your phone making sure that it is free of any dirt or debris. Use a can of compressed air when cleaning this port. Once the port has been cleaned you should then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord from the one you are using. You should also try to use a different wall charger. If the phone doesn’t respond to then try charging the phone using the USB port of your computer.

Should the above steps fail then you might need to replace the battery with a new one. Since this phone has a sealed battery I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Blue Light With Black Screen

Problem: Galaxy S6 metro pcs, I have the blue light with a black screen (definitely off there is no backlight). I have tried the volume down and power button trick multiple times with no results and the factory reset. The phone has never been dropped and has very few apps on it. Is there anything else I can do before paying to have it fixed.

Solution: Try simulating a battery pull first by pressing and holding down both the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If this fails to work then ty connecting your phone to its wall charger and let it charge first for 20 minutes. Turn on your phone while it is still connected to its charger.

If the above steps fail then bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Slow Charging

Problem: I’ve had my Galaxy S6 for a while now, and just today I started having charging problems with it. I plugged it in to charge at around 15%, and it’s only been between 18-19% in the past two hours (dropped to 16% as I type this). I never had this issue before and it’s making me a bit worried. My friend suggests it’s a battery problem and I might need a new one.

Solution: Before trying to replace the battery of your phone you should first try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris in the port is removed.
  • Charge your phone using a different charging cord and charger.

If the issue remains then you might have a faulty battery. If this is the case then you should have this checked at a service center.

S6 Refuses To Power Up

Problem: Hi, My samsung galaxy s6 fell from a distance of 50cm, the phone landed on the back and it went off. It refused to power up but when i put it to charge, the battery symbol appears to show that its charging.

Solution: For this particular issue you should first simulate a battery pull. You do this by pressing and holding down the power key and volume down key for at least 20 seconds. If the issue remains then try charging your phone for a least 20 minutes.

If the phone still does not turn on then there might be some component inside that has become loose. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

For this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 won’t turn on issue & other power related problems.

S6 Won’t Turn On

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. About two weeks ago it started acting weird. The all open app button and the back button at the bottom of the screen quit working. Occasionally I would restart it and it would work again. Eventually it quit working all together. I have started it in safe mode and the issue still occurs. I have done numerous master resets and it also does not fix the issue. I’ve learned to live with it.  Now, just a few hours ago, my phone was in my pocket and when I took it out it appeared as if it was doing a download of some sort. I could see computer language at the top of the screen, seen the android icon guy, and it said downloading. I sat my phone on the night stand and fell asleep. I just woke up and my phone won’t turn on. I googled it and read to do a reset by holding the power button and the volume down button for seven seconds or more. It turned on but as soon as it loaded it immediately restarted. Once it was back up it shut off and hasn’t been able to turn on since. I have been charging it for a good twenty minutes now but it still won’t turn on and shows no sign of charging. The charger definitely works because it is charging my other phone when I plug it in. Before It shut off I did notice it had 30% battery.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Solution: This appears to be a hardware related issue already. You should however try to check if this can be fixed on your end first by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that this port does not have any dirt or debris present as this could interfere with the charging process.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.
  • Try starting your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this erases your phone data.

If the above step fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Charging After Using Wet Charging Cord

Problem: My phone charging cord fell into a glass of water while plugged into an outlet. Without thinking, I plugged my phone into charge about an hour after the cord was taken out of water. my phone will not charge with any charger now. A red x appears on the battery when I plug into a charger. It can be used if plugged in but battery is not charging. I have tried several chargers.

Solution: The wet charging cord might have caused a short circuit which damaged either the battery or the charging IC of your phone. The troubleshooting steps that you can do for this particular issue are listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Check if the phone will charge.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if your phone will charge.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Unable To Charge

Problem: Have had my Samsung S6 for approx 9/12 now. Purchased from 3 store.. Unable to charge phone despite using several different chargers. Screen does show symbol of charging and will turn on showing my lock screen but then immediately dims and shuts down once more. Have tried to reboot the phone by holding the power key and volume down button for approx 10seconds to no avail..Any further suggestions please..

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed as this will usually cause charging problems. Once the port is clean try charging your phone. Use different USB cords if necessary.

To check if this issue is caused by a software glitch I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem still persist after the reset then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: new galaxy s6 active that I just purchased the fast charging stand for from best buy about 3 weeks ago. it has been great until the past few days. now when I place on the stand it only says wirelessly charging instead of fast charging !!! if I unplug the cable from the stand and directly plug into the phone it fast charges fine. is there an issue with these new samsung charging stands ? not sure if I can return to best buy to exchange. thank you

Solution: Since the phone fast charges when the cable is connected straight to it which effectively bypasses the stand then the issue is most likely caused by the fast charging stand. You should however check if another factor is causing this problem by performing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then an app installed in your phone might be preventing your phone from wirelessly fast charging. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try to enable the Daydream option of your phone from Settings – Display – Daydream. Make sure to choose when charging. This will prevent your phone from sleeping when charging and could fix the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then it could be caused by the wireless fast charging stand.

S6 Charges Very Slow

Problem: Ever since the latest system update today, my phone charges really slowly. On all my chargers. Factory and fast chargers. They’ve all charged rather quickly until now. It is a problem.

Related Problem: Hi there , My S6 was not charging at all….I got a new battery fitted and a new charging port it is charging now but very slow…have tried different chargers that work fine with my wife’s s6

Solution: For this particular issue I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt present in this port. You should also try using different charging cords when charging your phone.

If the issue persists then have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: My s6 was working but suddenly went and turned black. I had a solid blue light for a while. Woke up in the middle of the night, and it was a blinking blue light. I tried holding all the bottoms as required but nothing happened. It’s still a black screen but with no light on at all. What can I do? Do they have a removable battery? It’s only 1 yr old

Solution: Unfortunately this model does not have a user removable battery. What you can do right now is to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then try to turn it on. If it doesn’t turn on then try to start it in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this action erases your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Will Not Turn On Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 might have all the bells and whistles of a high end smartphone but all of its features will be useless if the device does not turn on. S6 Will Not Turn On

Problem: Phone had a 46 percent charge I set it down on table dry…notching wet. Picked it up and it was shut off. Would not turn back on. Plugged into charger and nothing happens. Screen don’t light up or nothing

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to simulate a battery pulL. To do this you need to press and hold the volume down and the power key for around 10 to 20 seconds. Once this is done connect your phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Turn on your phone. If the phone does not turn on then try using a different charging cord when charging your device. You should make sure that the charging port of the phone is clean by blowing a can of compressed air on it.

If it still does not turn on then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try to wipe the cache partition of your phone in this mode.
  • If wiping the cache partition fails then boot your phone in recovery mode again then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy available.

If the above steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Won’t Charge Past 65%

Problem: My phone wont charge past 65%. I tried troubleshooting the problem but none of that works, every time i charge my phone the time for charging says 40min until fully charged but after about a minute it says 1 min until fully charged but it will only be at 65% still. I reset the cache partition because i read that would work but it didn’t. This is also the 2nd S6 I’ve went through within a week that has had a problem from the update.

Solution: There are several factors that could cause this issue on the phone which we will tackle one at a time. I’ve listed below the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to do in this case.

  • Start fresh by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this. By doing this you eliminate any software related issues that could be causing the problem.
  • Use a different charger and charging cord. Sometimes the charger will not provide the correct output anymore properly charge the phone. The charging cord could also be defective already which could cause this problem. Replacing both will eliminate any charger issues.
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Presence of dirt in the charging port could interfere with the charging process.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Unresponsive After Charging Overnight

Problem: I put it on charge last night, everthing perfect, awoke this morning and it was unresponsive, a little green light was lit in top right corner. I found out i had to force start it by holding all button for a few seconds and it booted up. Been working fine since but not sure what problem was /is. Its never been dropped/wet and only month old.

Solution: This issue could be caused by some form of software glitch . It’s best to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This procedure deletes the temporary data in your phone which if corrupt can cause this problem.  Observe if the issue still occurs.

S6 Shuts Off Does Not Turn On

Problem: phone shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. finally turned back on and began flashing and turning purple. then black with white and green lines appeared. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: For this issue I recommend you try to start your phone with the charger connected. If the issue still occurs then proceed to starting the phone in  recovery mode as it looks like the phone software could be corrupt. If you are able to access the recovery mode then you should do a factory reset. This procedure deletes everything in your phone so make sure to have a backup copy of your data.

If you are unable to access the recovery mode then you should consider flashing your phone with its stock firmware. Instructions on how to do this can be found at some of the popular Android forums online.

If you are unable to flash the phone software then there’s a chance that the problem could already be hardware related. If this is the case I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: I connected my phone to my bluetooth first thing this morning.  It connected.  When I received a call, I touched the wrong button and declined the call.  I tried to call the person back but my phone was completely dead.  I turned my bluetooth headset off.    I have it plugged in now and get the red dot on the top of the screen and when I push the power button, it shows that the battery is at 36%.  It also has written on the screen, “This phone can also be charged wirelessly.”  I haven’t ever seen this before.  I have tried to hold down the power button and the down volume button for 7 seconds, but nothing.  thank you for any help you can give me.

Solution: If a simulated battery pull does not fix the issue then try charging your phone using a different charger. Make sure to also use a different charging cord. Check also if you are able to start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then it’s possible that the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. From the recovery mode I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy prior to proceeding with this step.

S6 Won’t Charge After Getting Wet

Problem: I just dropped my phone in water there was no water damage to the screen.  When I try to charge it up it says the phone is too hot and cooling down and won’t charge I need all my important pictures out of it what could I possibly do what’s my options ?

Solution: First, make sure that the phone is dry by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture in the phone.

To access your data try connecting your phone using a USB cord to a computer with Smart Switch running. Using this software you will be able to backup your data.

If you are still unable to charge the phone then it could be water damaged. If this is the case then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Will Not Charge

Problem: Hi, I have a Galaxy S6 that will not charge. Initially, the phone would not turn on at all.  When I plugged the phone in with its original fast charger, I got the dead battery symbol showing 0% charge.  There is a flashing green LED light below that battery symbol right above the home button. I have tried a soft reset on the phone. I was finally able to get the phone to turn on, but it still does not charge.  I tried booting in safe mode, still does not charge. If the phone is powered down, all I get is the battery dead symbol with the blinking green LED above the home button. I have had the phone since September of last year so unfortunately it is no longer under warranty.  Can you help? Thank you.

Solution: Have you tried using a different charger and charging cord? If you already have then try booting your phone in recovery mode and if you are able to access this mode then do a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in this process. If the reset fails to fix the problem then the issue could be caused by a defective battery. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
