S6 Screen Is Unresponsive To Touch

Problem: I have an S6 that will become non-responsive to touch. All other buttons function. I did a soft reset, phone comes back on with no change. This has happened once before, but over the course of the morning it became responsive again. Not the case so far this time. I attempted to use the Verizon repair suite, but my phone settings are not set to the proper USB file setting

Related Problem: In my Samsung Galaxy s6 at&t i’m unable to operate screen. power button and other physical buttons and back touch key all work fine but I am unable to operate the screen . this happens time to time and solves in self automatically but sometimes this happens for almost 45 minutes. If i hard restart the phone sometimes the problem persists and some time it is solved pls tell me what is the issue

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then you should try removing it as this might be causing the problem.

Troubleshooting the issue further, you should try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data which could be causing this problem.

If the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that you need to backup your phone data before doing this step.

Should the above steps fail then the problem could be caused by a faulty digitizer. You need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Unresponsive With Frozen Screen

Problem: My phone becomes unresponsive with a frozen screen I have tried hard restarting but that only last for a few seconds before the screen freezes and the process starts again. Straight of the the hard restart the phone is black screened with a blue light flashing, I don’t know what to do and the phone basically can’t be used

Solution: If the problem still occurs even after a factory reset then it’s possible that this is already caused by a faulty display assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: Hey, i have a question! i drop my phone accidentally at the floor and after that the screen was black..i thought it is just a lag but isn’t so i was waiting to finished battery to charging again but do anything..i tried the all tricks with the volume buttons and the power button and the home button but still do nothing! please give me some solution!

Solution: Since this issue occurred right after you dropped your phone then it’s possible that the display might be damaged by the drop. To confirm this you should start your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then this might just be caused by a software glitch in which case you need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this process will erase your phone data. If the screen doesn’t work in this mode then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Keeps Freezing

Problem: My Galaxy S6 keeps freezing and I have to restart it 2-3 times just to use it for 5 minutes before it freezes again. I haven’t had any problems with my phone before. I just use wifi. I have no idea what android version I have. Thanks

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data of the phone which can usually cause this problem. If this fails to fix the problem then your last option is a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S6 Black Screen After Falling In Toilet

Problem: The phone fell into the toilet and sat in rice for 48 hours then the phone just blacked out meaning you can do everything but you can’t see the screen.

Solution: It’s possible that the water has damaged the display assembly of the phone. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Randomly Restarts After Freezing

Problem: I wish you guys can help with my issue. I have a Galaxy S6 and at some point in the beginning of the year my phone suddenly just started to restart so many times a day, at some point more than 25! and it always freezes before restarting. Most of the time is restarts after freezing but sometimes it just powers off. So I tried to wipe the cache and boot it in safe mode, installed latest updates, uninstalled all my apps (Even preloaded apps) but to no avail. Suddenly 5 days later it stopped. Now after nearly a year later it started doing the same thing, but more intensely but it would usually stop or doesn’t freeze and restart much in the afternoon or night. I took it to Samsung they said it will have to be a software issue and there is a big chance of my phone becoming a dead cell (They didn’t even bother to inspect the device) i took it to 15 other shops and some said battery, some said processor, some said RAM and keep in mind no one inspected the device. It’s been a week now and i’ve done everything to fix it as before, but it’s just doesnt help. I noticed it doesn’t restart and lag as much as the first few days. Please help me! You guys are the best in the business! I dont have the financial ability to buy a new (or used) phone for at least 4 months! Thanks in advance.

Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to check if this is caused by an issue with the phone software. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to verify if this is the case. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does you should proceed to the next step.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Observe if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install an app in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. This could be the battery or the power IC however we won’t know unless the phone is examined. The best thing to do right now is to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Connecting to Bluetooth Headphones

Problem: I bought a pair of audio Bluetooth headphones for my Galaxy s6 and for them to pair very easily, but then I lost them. I have since purchased two more sets but the Bluetooth on my phone won’t recognize them. I have done numerous soft reboots, reset the Bluetooth connection, gone into the all Bluetooth apps and cleared the cache and data from them and have also cleared the cache in the Android recovery setting. None of this has helped. So I’m at a loss as to what to do next. I would really appreciate some help..

Solution: You should try if the Bluetooth headphones that you got can pair with another device. This way you will be able to determine if its the phone or the headphones that has a problem. If the headphones can connect just fine with another device then go back to your phone and connect another Bluetooth device to it. This way you can check if the Bluetooth feature of the phone is working properly. If this other device can connect then the phone might have compatibility issues with the headphones that you bought in which case you should consider getting another pair of headphones. However if your phone can’t seem to connect to other Bluetooth devices then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then one of your apps is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Keeps Freezing

Problem: My galaxy s6 keeps freezing and won’t respond to any command till it goes off on its own because the on-screen and other running apps in freeze mode have drained the battery. Also, it will heat up, it can barely be held. I’ve made several attempts to repair it but to no avail. What should I do?

Solution:  What you will want to do first in this case is to verify if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur when the phone is in this mode then there’s a possibility that it is caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with the following steps.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Responding After Drop

Problem: So, my girlfriend dropped her galaxy s6 down the stairs at our apartment and now it’s starting to choose not to respond to being turned on. If you try to charge it, the screen illuminates with the initial gray battery symbol and a lightning bolt in the middle. However 80% of the time it will never advance past this screen. Normally it will go to the screen where it shows the green battery cell being filled with green particles. When it does work that way, you can turn it on and use it. But if you move around too much it’ll shut off again . Any ideas?

Solution: It appears that this might already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a component that is failing to work properly because of the drop. This could either be the battery, the display assembly, or some other internal component. The best way to check if this is a hardware related problem is to backup the phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. In case the issue persists then you need to have the phone checked at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Flashing

Problem: My S6 screen is flashing from one screen to another e.g. from the home screen to the screen that has the app shortcuts all by itself. I have reset the phone, factory reset and still its changing from screen to screen all by itself… and ideas?? by the way there has been no spillages or knocks that i am aware off. Thanks for the free help (a rare thing these days)

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related issue already possibly caused by a faulty display. You need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Not Charging

Problem: I have a Samsung s6 all of a sudden my charger stopped working or so I thought. I purchased a new charge which has also been inconsistent sometimes it works but it hasn’t at all recently suggesting my phone is the problem.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord. In case the issue persists then the phone might have a faulty charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
