S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hello My Samsung s6 edge fell into water. I removed it and dried it and afterwards put it in a bag of rice for 2 days. I tried putting it on but it won’t come on. it doesn’t get past the Samsung logo while trying to on only if it’s plugged in. The battery meter shows 100% but it doesn’t even try to come on if it’s plugged. Nothing shows if it’s not charging but gets to Samsung logo and goes off if it’s charging
Solution: Your phone appears to be water damaged already. You can verify this further by checking the liquid damage indicator sticker which is located inside the SIM slot of the phone. Remove the SIM tray then check this sticker. If the color is red or pink then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
There’s also a possibility that the problem could be caused by a software glitch. So before bringing your phone to a service center try starting it in recovery mode then perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
Note 5 Will Not Charge
Problem: Hi please help. I used my husbands phone charger to charge my phone for about 15 mins. When my husband has come to use it later that evening his phone won’t charge at all. He has tried a different USB charger in a different plug socket, nothing. He has tried wireless charging, nothing. The phone will not charge up.
Solution: If the phone does not charge using a wired or wireless charger then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging IC. Before bringing the phone to a service center and having it fixed it’s best to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Try charging your phone and check if it charges.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone.
- Try using a different wall charger when charging the phone.
- Check if your phone charges from a computer USB port.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hello I have a galaxy S6 edge. last night before going to bed my phone had 1% battery i plugged it in and as i did this the phone turned off. I left it connected thinking that in the morning would be fine. Unfortunately the phone does not turn on. I went to the ATT store and they said the phone does not work and I need to upgrade. I know the phone does charge 1. because they put it on fast charge and the light turned on indicating it is getting some energy. Also, I put it to charge at home and after 15 minutes the phone was a little hot, but unfortunately after all the troubleshooting directions it still does not do anything. no light not safe mode nothing. I bought it on February 10, 2016 so the manufacturer warranty no longer valid, and yes you guessed it I did not purchase extended warranty. =(. Is there anything you could do?
Related Problem: My phone was getting low on battery and then shut off. Had at least 10-15% left. Will not turn back on and doesn’t seem to be charging either. Tried a soft reset as well as a hard reset and neither one will initiate.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular issue is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone which is why you will need to charge your phone again. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.
- Perform a simulated battery pull first by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that you see the charging indicator. You should also check if your phone heats up. If it does then stop the troubleshooting and immediately bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
- If your phone does not turn on then try to check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: i have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phone. there is no water damage or anything like that to it, however today when i was using Google maps i locked my phone without closing the app and when i went back to my phone 5 minutes later i couldn’t unlock it. it then when on to look like it was rebooting however all that i can see is the Samsung sign and a blue light fading. no factory reboot is working and i don’t know what else to do. can you please help?
Solution: It’s very likely that this issue is caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone should restart after this.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
- If the above steps fail then repeat steps 2 and 3 but this time with the phone connected to its charger.
If the issue persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Stopped Working
Problem: My phone’s screen stopped working out of nowhere. The screen is black and sometimes the bottom half of the screen flickers a white light. Or sometimes the screen shows a glimpse of how the screen should be but only for less than a second. I was wondering if there is anything that would help with my issue. Also, i dropped my phone a couple of months ago that caused my screen to shatter, but does it have to do with my issue? Thank you for your time.
Solution: If your screen is shattered then this could be causing the problem right now in which case you will need to have the display assembly of your phone replaced at a service center. You should however perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to check if other factors are causing this problem.
- Check if an app that you have downloaded is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the issue does not occur in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Edge Restarts Using Apps
Problem: Good afternoon: The problem I have with this device, is that every time am doing something with text msg or try to call someone the phone all of a sudden turn off and back on without doing restarting. Do you know how to fix it?
Solution: Try to check if the same issue occurs when the phone is running in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it’s possible that it is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem occurs in Safe Mode then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
