S6 Edge Does Not Charge After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi I’m kind of a novice at cell repair, but I’m trying to TS a major issue. This phone has a little history 1st the screen broke so replace the entire LCD . Works like a charm for about a month . Went to the beach with phone and got a little wet. Normally this would have not been a problem with the S6 , But I think because of the repair the factory seal was no longer there and allowed a little salt water in. After the phone did not recharge after a day. I ordered a new battery . Upon removing old battery I did notice the battery swelled so Was hoping this was the only issue . Have the phone put back together now but same problem . It lights up as if it’s charging and I see the display with Lightning bolt , But does actually never gives a percentage , And blanks out after a minute or 2 . Do you think my problem at this point is a faulty board , Or is it possible the battery they sent is defective.

Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular issue. We know that the phone got wet so some component inside got water damaged. Since the issue still occurs after replacing the battery then it’s possible that the new battery you got is faulty. If you have a multimeter you can easily check the output voltage of the battery  and see if it is working.

Another factor that can cause this problem is a faulty internal component which could be the power IC or the charging port. The best way to proceed in this scenario is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Switched Off Randomly Not Turning On

Problem: My phone was fine at the start of the day but by the end of the day it has switched itself off and I cannot turn it on? There is no error messages and if I connect the charger it does tell me it’s charging and has about 80% battery?? Can you help with this please?

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing the power button and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t restart then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hi my s6 edge fairly used won’t switch on. It just went off by itself and all attempts to switch it on have been in vain. I suspect the new nougat 7.0 update to be the problem as it never uses to do this before I updated it. The battery was charged when it went off. Please help

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If all goes well then your phone will restart after this. In case it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the cord and charger have been tested to work on another device. Turn on your phone.
  • If the phone does not turn on then charge your phone from a computer USB port for 20 minutes then turn it on.
  • Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If it starts in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Charging Overnight

Problem: Put my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge on charge last night and when I woke this morning the phone wouldn’t turn on but the charging light is still on even when I disconnected the phone, I’ve done everything to try turn it back on but no luck

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone will restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone again for at least 20 minutes. Before charging your phone it’s best to clean the charging port first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed. If you don’t see any charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging your phone from a computer USB port. Once the phone charges try to turn it on.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Placing In Water

Problem: I am having galaxy s6 edge SM-G925F. I put half of the phone in water to take a photo. suddenly it turn off and it won’t turn on. but when i plug the charger and start charging, in the screen the battery is charging but it won’t show the boot logo. so it won’t boot and can’t go for factory reset. this continuous when i unplug it turn off again..

Solution: It’s not a good idea to place this phone in water since it does not have any waterproofing feature. It’s very likely that the problem is caused by water entering the device. What you should do right now is to wipe the phone with a dry cloth until no more water is present in its exterior. You will also have to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present inside the phone. Onc this is done try turning on the phone. If it still does not turn on then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Charge

Problem: Galaxy S6 won’t charge. Battery is dead. No sign of life when plugged in a pc or a charger that works on other phones. Also no sign of life on a charging pad.

Solution: It looks like the problem could be caused by a faulty battery or power IC since you have already tried charging the phone through different methods. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Black Screen with Solid Blue LED

Problem: My phone is black screen frozen solid and permanent blue light (NOT BLINKING). nothing works, i hold down all the damn buttons for minutes

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone will restart after this.

In case the issue remains try charging the phone for a least 20 minutes then perform a restart. Should the issue persist then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S6 Edge Won’t Charge

Problem: Hi, Not sure what else to do but I still can’t get my S6 Edge to charge: – tried connecting phone to computer via factory charging cable – tried charging phone using my wife’s blackberry charger – tried hard reset of phone – tried plugging phone into different wall outlets – tried shutdown / restart of phone I’m getting an error from my computer saying the device is unrecognizable so I’m thinking it may be a device issue? Any ideas? Thanks, Kevin

Solution: If you are getting a device unrecognizable error then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by an issue with the charging port of the phone. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port as this could cause charging problems. If your phone still does not charge then you probably need to have the charging port replaced. Bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.

S6 Edge Stopped Charging

Problem: Hello, My samsung S6 Edge just stopped charging.  Nothing changed with the device.  When plugged in it won’t respond to any chargers and hard re-start isn’t working.  I’m not sure what android version my phone has on it currently.  What do I need to do? Thank you.

Solution: Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below which are recommended for this particular issue. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does move to the next step in the list.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Try to charge your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure to test if both work on another device first.
  • Try to charge your phone from a computer USB port. If it charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged. You need to have this checked at a service center.
  • Try to use a wireless charger when charging your phone. If your phone charges this way then your phone might have a defective charging port. Have this checked at a service center.
  • Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Overnight Charging

Problem: hi last night my galaxy s6 edge ran out of battery I left it to charge over night, this morning it said 100% took it off charge ,    20 mins later went to turn it on no response tried all the resets still no response ,    i’ve put it back on charge not even responding to the charger thanks

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull. To do this just press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this, If it doesn’t then try to connect it to its charger first for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not respond then try charging it from a computer USB port.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Edge Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: Dropped galaxy s6 edge in toilet! got it out to find my screen would come on but not unlock. Soaked it in rice and the next day was fine other than camera where I could see moisture. Well got that cleared up and all worked fine…now 2 days later I guess I tilted the phone and it went black not off just black I can’t see anything and couldn’t shut it off for awhile. I guess I finally shut down and now won’t do anything. What can I do?

Solution: Since your phone got wet and this particular model does not have any waterproofing then it’s very likely that water has damaged an internal component of the device. If placing the phone in a bag of rice for 48 hours does not fix the issue then you need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Charging To 100%

Problem: I have a Samsung s6 edge but it won’t charge too 100% it only charges up to 25% . I already rebooted my cell. What else can I do ? Thank you, Robert

Solution: Try using a different charger and charging cord when charging your phone as this could be a charger related problem. If the issue persists then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • To check if this is a software related problem you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then the battery of your phone might have an issue. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hi. My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge suddenly doesn’t want to turn on. I plugged the phone  to charge it using the original charger. Prior to that, I was using the phone, browsing and used Youtube app. I charged it when it was at 23%. After an hour, I checked the phone and it won’t respond, I pressed the power button multiple times to wake it up, but nothing. I unplug the phone and saw the LED indicator is still lit red even unplugged. I immediately tried the Volume Down+Power button, nothing. Tried Volume Up+Power+Home button, still nothing. I let the phone in the charger for a while, tried plugging it in the PC USB Port, tried a different charger, still nothing. Help. I had the phone for a while now, and this is the first time it happened. It was not exposed to water prior to the issue.

Solution: Since you already performed most of the initial troubleshooting steps for this particular problem which does not seem to work then your other option is to check if the phone starts in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the issue persists then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Problem: Hi I recently updated the software on my s6 edge but the phone does not stays on and the only time it stays on is only of plugged to charger I have done safe mode and all the resets but nothing worked can u help plz Thanks Jav

S6 Edge Unresponsive Not Turning On

Problem: Hi my daughters S6 Edge is totally unresponsive. On Wednesday there was an OTA update by Samsung (I don’t know if it was updating Marshmallow or installing Nougat). The Nougat update as far I can see is not scheduled until next week for Germany so I think it was the first. After the update she said the phone came on fine and she continued to use it for the rest of the day with no problems. In the evening she turned it off and plugged it into the charger, the charging light came on like normal A couple of hours later she noticed the light was out. She unplugged the phone and tried to turn it on but nothing happened. Since then I have had the phone. I have charged it myself. The charging light does not come on, it feels slightly warm not hot or anything like that when charging. I have tried booting into safemode. Even though it won’t turn on I also tried software reset, master reset but as it won’t turn on they didn’t work. I have made sure the charger is ok, used a different charger and also tried it via the USB port of my PC. I let the battery run out as far I could tell by not using it for 3 days and it felt cold to the touch. I then once again charged it and tried the above still same thing, no charging light or icon, very slightly warm at the back, no buttons working. The phone has not been dropped and no water damage.  My daughter can’t find the receipt so Samsung won’t repair or replace it under warranty. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem is already hardware related possibly caused by the factors listed below.

  • The battery is faulty
  • The power IC is defective

You should however try to check if other factors are involved in this problem by doing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Do a simulated battery pull. To perform this procedure just simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally your phone will restart after this.
  • Clean the charging port of your phone making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes.
  • Check if the phone can start in recovery mode. If it can then try to do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware issue. You should have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Battery Temperature Too Low to Charge

Problem: Hi My phone fell into the toilet and i put it into rice.(i know that i also should have turned it off and have the battery removed) However, i have a galaxy s6 edge, which is the reason why i couldn’t remove it. For some reason i wasn’t able to turn it off either, so i just left it like it was in the rice. I took it  out after maybe 12 hours or something and tried to charge it. At first everything was fine, it was a bit slow but ok, and at some point (maybe 30%) my phone decided that the battery is actually too cold to charge anymore.  The vodafone shop i went to is closed and i’m really desperate. If anyone has any idea how to solve that i’d be very thankful. P.S. i’m not sure which Android Version i have

Solution: The problem is most likely caused by a water damaged battery or charging port assembly. You should however check if this is caused by a software glitch by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Shuts Down Not Powering On

Problem: Hi. My Samsung S6Edge model no.SM-G925W8 was shut down all of sudden. I tried a lot to power on this device, but didn’t work. I thought it could be Firmware crash so I redownloaded Firmware using ODIN 3. But doesn’t power on even ODIN is showing that device has been passed downloading new firmware. This phone is not going beyond Samsung S6 Edge welcome note with black background. Only one thing is working now i.e. power key+home key+volume down.

Solution: Is the phone able to access the recovery mode? If it is then try the two steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone then restart the device.
  • Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps don’t work then try connecting the phone to its charger then check if it turns on. If it does then you may need to replace the phone battery.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn ON

Problem: Hello – I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. I have always good care for it. I didn’t always use it. No any water damage. I didn’t drop it down. two days back I tried turning on my phone. But it didn’t turn on. The day before I had turned off at the stage of 86% of battery. Then I allow to charge it. But charging icons and LED indicator didn’t display on the screen. Please help! Thank you

Related Problem: I was using my phone the other night, the power was low so had it plugged in charging. The app i was using must’ve been using more power than charge given cos my phone switched off. I left it overnight as normal thinking it was charging however the next day it wouldn’t switch on. I have tried other charges and none are charging the phone, no indication that it is charging. I have tried the different various reboots and none work as nothing appears on the screen

Related Problem: After installing the latest update a few days ago, I woke up to find my phone off and unable to turn on no matter what I do. It won’t charge and trying to hold down both the power button and down volume button doesn’t reset the phone. At a loss as to what I can do to get it to work. Please help!!!

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris gets removed.
  • Charge your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes.

If the phone still does not turn on then try performing a simulated battery pull. You do this by simultaneously pressing and holding down the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

If the issue persists then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Turns Off If Not Connected To Charger

Problem: I dropped my phone for literally 2 seconds down the loo. After retreating it and switching it off spending 3 days in rice My phone will now only work and be fully functional when I have it plugged into the mains. Every time I unplugged the mains it switches straight back off. Can you give me any advice! TIA Regards

Solution: There are two possible reasons why this is happening. It’s either the battery has been water damaged or the power IC got shorted. In both cases you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have the phone repaired.

S6 Edge Freezes And Reboots After Software Update

Problem: Hi Droid guys, Well this morning my S6 Edge receive an update from Samsung, I decide to install it and after that the phone starts working very bad, it freezes sometimes causing the system to reboot itself, then after several reboots, I decide to wipe the cache,, but the same issue continue, after that I went to the wipe data/ Factory reset and the issue continues. Then the phone decide not to turn on anymore. In this moment it is plugged into the charger but no led indicator nor screen turns on. What do you recommend before taking the phone to a technician? Thanks Guys

Solution: The first thing that you need to do for this particular issue is to make sure that the battery has some charge left because if it is drained then you won’t be able to do any troubleshooting. This is why you will need to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone making sure that any dirt or debris gets removed.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord.
  • Try using a different wall charger.
  • Check if your phone can charge through a computer USB port.

If the phone does not turn on then this could either be caused by a faulty battery or a malfunctioning power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Turns Off Randomly After Getting Wet

Problem: Phone fell into toilet I let it to stay off had it in rice and it wouldn’t work less it was plugged into the charger it would say it was 100% and work but it would turn off, I decided to blow dry it, i saw water in the camera and that seemed to helped once I put it to charge it was at 30% and seemed to be charging fine but now it will turn on it will work fine but it still will turn off at random times is there anything I could do to fix it or should I just go get a new one?

Solution: It’s very likely that the water has affected some internal component of the phone resulting in this issue. If you have already placed your phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours to dry out the moisture inside the device then you should have this checked at a service center. Sometimes the issue could just be caused by a bad battery in which case it needs to be replaced. However, if it’s already a motherboard related problem then you should just consider getting a new phone.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: i drop my phone on the toilet for maybe 3 seconds, it was like 11:47am when it fell inside and at 11:49am , I left it in a bowl but then I put it in a bag throughout the day I have tried 3 times to turn it on but it hasn’t . it is now 10:13pm I put it in Jasmine Rice , but would my Galaxy S6 edge dry even though I can’t take out the battery? and could there be a chance that when I wake up at 6am to school it will turn on ?please help thanks !

Solution: Rice is best known as an absorbent and when it is placed in a bag with your phone it will absorb the moisture that is present inside the phone. The problem right now is that your phone does not start which could indicate that some component got shorted out by the water. Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes. Make sure to regularly touch your device if it heats up ( if it does then disconnect it from its charger). Try turning your phone on. If it doesn’t turn on then you need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: My sprint samsung galaxy s6 edge is rebooting every 1 min 8 secs….phone DOESN’T REBOOT in recovery/download mode. I have successfully flashed the stock firmware via odin…but no progress..now it reboots in the app optimizing screen every 1 min 8 secs…Do you know the possible solution of this problem..??

Solution: Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then follow this up with a factory reset. If the issue still remains then this could be caused by a faulty internal component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge for close to two years. Did not have any battery issue thus far. Last night after I made a call, I noticed the battery level 10%. I plugged the phone using its original Samsung charger over night. This morning the phone was off and would not start the normal way. I tried the pressing the on/off button, and pressed the volume buttons at the same time, no sign of turning ON. It seems that is ALL DEAD. Is there a fuse in the battery which could be blown? What to do, where to have it fixed?

Related Problem: Hi guys: When woke up this morning, my S6 Edge did not turn on. I leave it every night charging and when I picked it up today, it appear the 100% charged sign and then black. I’ve tried every typical thing (charging, recovery…) and no button combination makes anything work. There’s no ‘life’ sign (lights, logos…) and the computer doesn’t detect it. I don’t know if you could help me or give me some advice, because I don’t want to loose all my data. Thank you for your attention

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to try to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, the phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. If you get no response then do the following steps.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord.
  • Try using a different wall charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Battery Overheating

Problem: Hi! I always have samsung but this is the first i have problem with my samsung 6 edge. I used this most of the time when while swimming in Blue Lagoon in Iceland. After a while when I was trying to charge the handset, a message popped up informing that the battery is overheating that the charging may pause. I turned off the phone for an hour to cool down but it is still not charging all. Waited for more than few hours, but nothing’s working. But when I plugged in the original cable with its plug, an icon of battery charging appeared. I leave it for about an hour but the battery is still drained. Does the steam from Blue Lagoon affect my phone? Can I still retrieve my once in a lifetime photos stored in the handset? Please help. All of my pictures in Iceland are in this handset. Thank you and more power

Solution: The most common reason why the overheating error will pop up in your phone is if some liquid has entered your device. Since you mentioned that you were swimming in a lagoon then the steam might have entered your phone which in turn affected some component. What you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone is dry by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours try to check if the issue still occurs. You might need to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If the problem remains then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked since it’s possible that the battery or power IC has been damaged by the moisture.

S6 Edge Charging Not Working After Snow Entered Charging Port

Problem: Hello, I may have gotten a pinch of snow in the charging port, speaker and possibly the aux port, Went home to charge my phone, and it charged for a little then my phone stopped charging. Thought it should dry a little bit before I try to charge it again. Waited like 15 min to charge it. When I tried the second time, I plugged in my fast charger, it vibrated a lot going in and out of charging mode which resulted in fast charging mode to not work and ultimately stopped charging overall. Tried 2 other chargers and get the same response. It will charge for 3 seconds then stop charging. Overall my fast charging wont work. What can I do?

Solution: If snow has entered the charging port then this is just the same as water entering the port. Since water is a good conductor of electricity then this might have caused a short circuit in your charging port. To fix this issue try cleaning the charging port first using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging your phone using different charging cords and wall chargers. If the problem remains then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello. A few days ago my phone was frozen. The screen was completely black but the blue light was blinking. I went to go reboot it, because this has worked for me before. It would not reboot my phone and now the blue light is no longer blinking and I can not reboot my phone by holding any of the buttons down. Nothing will pop up whatsoever. I have charged my phone more than one and even had it charge throughout the night and I still can not get it to respond or do anything. I’m also not exactly sure what android version my phone is but I’m guessing it’s the newest one. Please help me. Thank you

Solution:  It’s very likely that the battery has already drained which is why the phone will not respond anymore. You will want to charge the phone first by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port first using a can of compressed air making sure to take out any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Try charging your phone using different charging cords and wall chargers.
  • Try charging your phone using the USB port of your computer.

If the phone remains unresponsive then you should bring this to a service center ad have it checked.

S6 Edge Heats Up When Charging

Problem: Suddenly shut down while charging then would not turn on. I tried to charge it still but it heats up so fast on only one side. The power on side. I’m afraid it would explode so i did not tried charging it again.

Solution: Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone. If it still heats up and does not turn on then remove it from the charger. This is a potentially dangerous issue as the phone might burn you which is why you should bring it to a service center and have it checked immediately.

S6 Edge Will Not Retain A Charge

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy s6 edge and it will not retain a charge. I plug it in the wall charger and it turns on, gives me a  10-20 seconds window while it loads then tells me i need to charge it but even though it is connected to the wall the battery icon on the top left shows that nothing is charging. I’ve tried a hard reset but nothing has happened.

Solution: Try using a different charger and charging cord then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might need to have the battery replaced as it might not be holding sufficient charge anymore. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Overheating

Problem: Hello. My samsung s6 edge device is overheating right now I don’t know the reason why. I tried factory reset or rebooting but it doesn’t effective anymore for that. I feel nervous and worried also because its an very expensive one. Thus, always appearing on screen that it was overheating and I have to power it off and every after 15 mins I’d tried it again to power on just to try if it’s already works but it didn’t. What can I do to resolve it? Thank you! please respond.

Solution: If the issue still occurs even after doing a factory reset then this doesn’t appear to be caused by an app or a software glitch. It’s either the battery has an issue or there’s a shorted component in your phone. Ty to check the charging port of your device for any signs of dirt or debris. You should also check if any pins are touching each other as this will cause a short circuit and generate heat. If necessary clean this port using a can of compressed air. If the issue still persist then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: Phone charged to 100% one morning, unplugged from wall charger and laid down. When back to sleep and woke up tried to turn the phone on and it wouldn’t do anything. Took Took to cell phone repair shop and he told me the charging port needed replaced. I went to buy buy a buy a wireless charger to make sure the battery was good and the phone wouldn’t even charge. So had battery replaced and then called today and the dude told me that the phone wouldn’t do anything but a white light came on.. can you tell me what’s wrong please.

Solution: Since replacing the battery doesn’t fix the problem then it’s possible that the power IC of the phone has been damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

S6 Edge Not Fast Charging

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s6 edge is not charging properly- I left it to charge on the Fast charger and whilst it normally Takes around 30 mins to charge fully, it was only at 45% after leaving it overnight

Solution: There are several factors that can cause his problem which we will tackle below. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed and move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Sometimes dirt or dust embedded in this port can cause charging issues. Once the port is free from debris check if the problem is fixed.
  • Try using a different charging cord. This cord gets easily broken and the one you are currently using might be causing the problem.
  • Try to use another adaptive fast charging charger or any compatible quick charge 2.0 rated charger.
  • To check if the phone software is causing this issue you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then bring your phone to a service center and have the battery checked as this might be causing the problem.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On Unless Connected to Charger

Problem: Hey , I’m in trouble and i really need a solution.. my samsung galaxy s6 edge doesn’t turning on without connecting to the charger ,, it’s just working on the charger .. please tell me what to do .. I’m very sad

Solution: It looks like the battery might already be weak. Since this phone has a sealed battery then I suggest you bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hi, I charged my Galaxy S6 Edge overnight, woke up the next morning and the phone had died it now won’t turn on. I’ve tried Hard reboot and still nothing, no LED, no screen and it won’t do anything. Phone has been looked after and is only 6 months old. I tried putting it on charge again and this just made the phone get REALLY hot but still no LED or any other signs of life. Please Help.

Solution: This issue could be caused by a faulty battery or some component inside the phone that has failed to work. Since the phone gets hot when you charge it I recommend that you bring this immediately to a service center and have it checked. The heat generated by your phone even when it is off when you charge it is usually caused by a shorted circuit which should be looked into.

S6 Edge Will Not Charge

Problem: My Galaxy S6 Edge will not charge. It charged normally earlier today. But now it will only turn on for 1-3 seconds, says critical 0% battery, then the blue circle appears and it shuts off again. I used two cables, two wall adapters, and two wall outlets to charge it, and used everything on a second Galaxy phone to compare. Everything that was used worked fine on the second Galaxy phone. I tried a soft reset, it is completely unresponsive and a black screen. Please help.

Solution: If your phone won’t charge then the first thing you need to do is to clean its charging port. This port may have some dirt or debris in it that could interfere with the charging process. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw. Once this is done try to check if the phone charges.

If it still does not charge then attempt simulated battery pull by pressing and holding down both the power button and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then check if the issue gets resolved.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Charging Wirelessly

Problem: My wireless fast charger for my Samsung s6 edge drains my battery instead of charging. I paid a good 120$ in a good tech shop. I try several times putting it on the charger and taking off to see the red light on the top of my phone but that seemed to have disappeared after a couple of months usage on the wireless charger and it only seems to drain remaining battery every time. Please help. Is it a faulty piece.

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to check if the wireless charger that you are using i indeed working. Try using this charger in another device. It’s also beset if you use a different wireless charger on your phone. Once you have made sure that it is not the wireless charger that’s causing the problem it’s time to troubleshoot the phone.

First, make sure that your phone doesn’t have a case. The case might be interfering with the wireless charging process. Assuming that all connections are correct the next thing you should do is to try to turn off the sleep function of your phone. To do this you have to enable the Daydream feature.

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Display
  • Select Daydream
  • Now check to see that Daydream feature is turned on
  • Select on which Daydream visual you want
  • Select on “More” in the top right corner
  • Select on “Select when to daydream”
  • Then make sure that “While Charging” or “Both” is turned on

S6 Edge Only Charges On USB Port

Problem: I am being faced with a strange issue and seek your help. When I connect my phone to charge in electric socket it doesn’t charge however if I use the same USB on a computer it charges. I have checked the electric socket it is working if I charge any other device. What should I do

Solution: It looks like the issue is caused by the charging port of your phone. This port has different connections for high voltage charging ( using the wall charger), low voltage charging (using the USB port of your computer), and data transfer. The circuit responsible for recognizing the high voltage charging might be damaged. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. If after cleaning the port the issue still remains then I suggest you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Charges Slowly

Problem: hello, I’m having issues with my samsung galaxy s6 edge it charges for 6 hours when it used to charge for one hour. I have to turn it off to charge because while on with the charger it decreases the battery percent. could you suggest what I could do to fix the issue.

Solution: There are several factors that can cause the phone to charge slowly which we will check below. Perform each of the troubleshooting steps listed below then move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in this port. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.
  • Try charging your phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then an app you downloaded  might be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then this could already be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a weak battery. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: I turn off my phone for 5 mins and I try and turn it on and it wont power on. but at times I have the blue LED in the top left corner, I have tried pushing and holding the all buttons multiple times, as well as power+home+volume up then power home and volume down with no success.

Solution: Try connecting your phone to its wall charger first and let it charge for at least 20 minutes before turning it on.

If the phone won’t charge then try cleaning the charging port of your phone first. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the issue remains then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Won’t Power Up

Problem: I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone only once but it wasn’t a very hard fall. Nothing happened immediately after the drop but after a few days my mobile data became erratic and my sim card says emergency calls only. Even if that is classified as a network problem, today my phone switched off all of a sudden and it wont power up.I’ve been waiting for nearly 4 to 5 hours but it just wont power up.It just shows the SAMSUNG logo flashing brightly and fading completely. Nothing is happening beyond that. Please help. This is a new phone and it’s only been 2.5 months since I bought it.I’ve spent a lot of money on this phone. Please help.

Solution: Try to make sure first that your phone battery is charged by connecting it to its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. Next, try to start your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode you should wipe the cache partition of your phone first. If this doesn’t fix the problem then proceed with doing a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps don’t work then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Wired Charging Not Working

Problem: Phone started not charging from Port yesterday. It underwent a software update on Wednesday and charged fine that night, however charging via usb port does not work. It will still charge using the wireless charging pad just fine. I’ve cleaned out the port, done a soft reset, and wiped the cache, all to no avail. I’ve tried multiple wall and car chargers and plugged directly into a cpu, none will charge. In my experience, usually a loose connection will charge at certain angle or by wiggling the cable, though that doesn’t seem to be the case this time. Any additional trouble shooting recommendations are helpful. Current software update… G925vvru4cpd2

Solution: It’s either the charging port of your phone is damaged or there might be something wrong with the charging circuit. In both cases you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello, I was at work today and was using my phone as i use it a lot at work, i put it in my pocket (this is a loose pocket by my knees in work trousers) and went to visit a patient, when i looked at it a few hours later it was dead wouldn’t switch on. I assumed it had drained battery faster due to the heat we have just now but i have come home and it won’t charge either i get no repose from the phone. I am using the original charger and cable with the phone and have tried it in several plugs and plugged in my laptop but to no avail. I rely on my phone for work and also as we love in a rural village in the Scottish Highlands. Many thanks for your help.

Solution: It looks like the battery of your phone is acting up. Try doing a soft reset or battery pull. You can do this by pressing and holding down both the power and volume down key simultaneously for at least seven seconds. If all goes well your phone should restart. If the phone is still unresponsive then try doing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim here is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in the port.
  • Charge your phone using a different charging cord.  Use a wall charger in charging for 20 minutes. If you still get no response then charge the phone for an additional 20 minutes using your computer’s USB port.
  • Check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I recommend you do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: Hi there,  my s6 edge won’t turn on,  it’s not charging,  I tried with more chargers and cables  and nothing,  the red led it’s off,  won’t boot into recovery or safe mode,  only in download mode,  when the charger is connected the only thing it does its showing the charging icon for a few seconds and then disappears,  this repeats over and over,  do you guys have any ideas why is this happening and how to solve the problem

Solution: If your phone starts only in download mode then there’s a possibility that the phone software is corrupt. In phone’s where the battery can be removed the usual thing to do is simply to remove the battery then discharging the phone by pressing the power button for at least a minute. This however is not an option in this case since the battery of this device is non-removable.

The best option that you have right now is to try to flash the phone with its stock firmware. Take note that your data will be deleted in this process. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S6 Edge Shuts Off Does Not Turn On

Problem: I was using the phone to listen to music through an auxiliary cable connected to my car. I pulled the aux cord out and my phone froze and was stuck on the screen that says “samsung galaxy s6 edge” when you first power up. After reading through what it could be, I tried resetting it using the power and the volume key down. That didn’t work. At this time the phone was extremely hot to touch. I tried charging it and following all the steps to reboot it including the recovery mode which didn’t work. After I left my phone to charge for a while and retried the steps, the phone shut off completely and will not turn back on regardless of what buttons I’ve pressed.

Solution: I suspect that this issue might already be a hardware problem. The phone getting very hot could be caused by a short circuit inside the phone. To pinpoint the exact cause of this issue I suggest you bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Gets Hot when Charging Does Not Start

Problem: I was charging in the night with my laptop and on getting up in the morning to get my phone I just noticed that it was getting extra hot in the whole body and until now it wont come up or even give a sign that it’s charging whenever I tried charging. The phone won’t just start up, it rather would be getting hot whenever am charging it. Please kindly help attend to this issue. Thanks

Solution: You should start the troubleshooting by cleaning the charging port of your phone. The presence of dust or debris in this port can cause charging problems. To clean the port use a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Next, try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the phone still gets hot when charging and does not turn on then you should have the device checked at a service center since this might already be a hardware problem. The possible causes of this varies from a faulty charging port to a defective charging circuit.

S6 Edge Not Charging

Problem: My phone won’t charge and it is dead. I connect the charger to the phone and it’s doesn’t charge my phone. The battery symbol pops up for a few seconds but it still doesn’t charge my phone, and I can turn it on if it’s connected to the charger but turns back off because it has no battery.

Related Problem: My charging port is not working it’s been on the fritz for a while one day it says the charging port works then the next day it just stops working all together. The wireless charging works but I want the charging port to work. What can I do to fix this problem its been going on for a while now.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris that could be stuck in the port. When charging the phone try using a different charging cord as the one you are using might be defective. Try wiggling the cord from the charging port to check if the phone charges.

If the issue persists you should have the phone checked at a service center.
