S6 Edge Wireless Charging Stops

Problem: I am trying to charge my phone wirelessly.  It seems to get started but stops after a minute or two.  How do I fix this?  This is my second Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.  I broke the glass on the last one and just received this new one.  Please help me. Thanks!

Solution: What kind of wireless charging pad are you using? If it is a third party charging pad then try using a Samsung branded wireless charging pad. You should also try using a different charger to supply power to the charging pad.  If your phone is using a case then try removing it from its case before wirelessly charging the device as the case might interfere with the charging process.

Another method to fix this issue is to try placing some paper or cardboard between the phone and the charging pad to raise it a little as there might be a certain gap where the charging becomes stable.

One last troubleshooting step you can do is to implement what they call the daydream solution. What this does is it prevents your phone from sleeping while it is charging.

  • Tap Settings
  • Go to Display
  • Go to Daydream
  • Make sure that the Daydream option is turned on
  • Select your preferred Daydream visual
  • Select More in the top right corner of the Daydream screen
  • Select “Select when to daydream”
  • Ensure either “While Charging” or “Both” is selected

S6 Edge Won’t Turn On Or Charge After Screen Got Cracked

Problem: Hi today I have managed to crack the screen on my s6 edge. I think I may have put it in the same pocket as my keys in my hand bag. The phone has worked fine all day. I put my phone down about half an hour ago after having only been on it minutes before, it had about 30% battery and it now won’t turn on or charge. I have tried resetting and this also won’t work as no s6 edge sign comes on the screen, it also doesn’t indicate it is charging either

Solution: Have you tried using a different charging cord and charger when charging the phone? Make sure to also try charging the phone through a computer USB port. If the phone still remains unresponsive then the damaged screen might be causing this issue. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Dead Android With Triangle And Exclamation Mark

Problem: I have a S6 Edge that keeps Optimizing Apps and then rebooting. Over and over. Until the battery dies. I followed all your suggestions, deleting cache, factory reset but now it goes to a blue screen with the Android guy and then shows a dead Android guy with a exclamation point in a yellow triangle. Please help!

Solution: It looks like the phone software has been corrupted. You will need to flash the updated firmware file back to your phone to fix this problem. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S6 Edge Charges Slowly

Problem: Samsung Galaxy s6 edge is slow to charge. Some days it could be fully charged in an hour, now for example I plugged In my phone over an hour ago and it’s only charged it 2%, the same yesterday I had left it a few hours, came back and it had only charged a couple of %. I have noticed the part of the charger that connects to into the phone gets so hot when plugged in, do you think it’s just a problem with my charger? Phone is just 1 year old!

Solution: It could be a problem with the charger. Try replacing the charging cord that you are using as well as the wall charger. Before charging make sure to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Se to it that any dirt or debris present in the port gets removed.

If the issue remains then the next step is to check if the phone software is causing this problem. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the charging issue gets fixed.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Shuts Down Randomly

Problem: Hi, I have Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. I upgraded to marshmallow and since then my phone shuts down randomly. I have followed your given steps of troubleshooting i.e. wiping out cache, resetting to factory settings. However, the problem still remains. Phone also shuts down on night clock. What could be the issue here and how can I resolve it? Looking forward for your positive response.

Related Problem: hi i have samsung galaxy s6 edge and it is rebooting/shutting down on its own in normal mode, i already try wiping data/factory reset didn’t work again, in safe mode everything is ok.

Solution: If a factory reset doesn’t fix the problem then we might be looking at a hardware issue caused by an internal component that’s failing to work ( possibly the power IC). I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Edge Will Not Charge

Problem: My Galaxy S6 Edge will not charge. It charged normally earlier today. But now it will only turn on for 1-3 seconds, says critical 0% battery, then the blue circle appears and it shuts off again. I used two cables, two wall adapters, and two wall outlets to charge it, and used everything on a second Galaxy phone to compare. Everything that was used worked fine on the second Galaxy phone. I tried a soft reset, it is completely unresponsive and a black screen. Please help.

Solution: If your phone won’t charge then the first thing you need to do is to clean its charging port. This port may have some dirt or debris in it that could interfere with the charging process. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw. Once this is done try to check if the phone charges.

If it still does not charge then attempt simulated battery pull by pressing and holding down both the power button and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then check if the issue gets resolved.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Charging Wirelessly

Problem: My wireless fast charger for my Samsung s6 edge drains my battery instead of charging. I paid a good 120$ in a good tech shop. I try several times putting it on the charger and taking off to see the red light on the top of my phone but that seemed to have disappeared after a couple of months usage on the wireless charger and it only seems to drain remaining battery every time. Please help. Is it a faulty piece.

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to check if the wireless charger that you are using i indeed working. Try using this charger in another device. It’s also beset if you use a different wireless charger on your phone. Once you have made sure that it is not the wireless charger that’s causing the problem it’s time to troubleshoot the phone.

First, make sure that your phone doesn’t have a case. The case might be interfering with the wireless charging process. Assuming that all connections are correct the next thing you should do is to try to turn off the sleep function of your phone. To do this you have to enable the Daydream feature.

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Display
  • Select Daydream
  • Now check to see that Daydream feature is turned on
  • Select on which Daydream visual you want
  • Select on “More” in the top right corner
  • Select on “Select when to daydream”
  • Then make sure that “While Charging” or “Both” is turned on

S6 Edge Only Charges On USB Port

Problem: I am being faced with a strange issue and seek your help. When I connect my phone to charge in electric socket it doesn’t charge however if I use the same USB on a computer it charges. I have checked the electric socket it is working if I charge any other device. What should I do

Solution: It looks like the issue is caused by the charging port of your phone. This port has different connections for high voltage charging ( using the wall charger), low voltage charging (using the USB port of your computer), and data transfer. The circuit responsible for recognizing the high voltage charging might be damaged. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. If after cleaning the port the issue still remains then I suggest you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Charges Slowly

Problem: hello, I’m having issues with my samsung galaxy s6 edge it charges for 6 hours when it used to charge for one hour. I have to turn it off to charge because while on with the charger it decreases the battery percent. could you suggest what I could do to fix the issue.

Solution: There are several factors that can cause the phone to charge slowly which we will check below. Perform each of the troubleshooting steps listed below then move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in this port. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.
  • Try charging your phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then an app you downloaded  might be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then this could already be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a weak battery. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: I turn off my phone for 5 mins and I try and turn it on and it wont power on. but at times I have the blue LED in the top left corner, I have tried pushing and holding the all buttons multiple times, as well as power+home+volume up then power home and volume down with no success.

Solution: Try connecting your phone to its wall charger first and let it charge for at least 20 minutes before turning it on.

If the phone won’t charge then try cleaning the charging port of your phone first. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the issue remains then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Won’t Power Up

Problem: I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone only once but it wasn’t a very hard fall. Nothing happened immediately after the drop but after a few days my mobile data became erratic and my sim card says emergency calls only. Even if that is classified as a network problem, today my phone switched off all of a sudden and it wont power up.I’ve been waiting for nearly 4 to 5 hours but it just wont power up.It just shows the SAMSUNG logo flashing brightly and fading completely. Nothing is happening beyond that. Please help. This is a new phone and it’s only been 2.5 months since I bought it.I’ve spent a lot of money on this phone. Please help.

Solution: Try to make sure first that your phone battery is charged by connecting it to its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. Next, try to start your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode you should wipe the cache partition of your phone first. If this doesn’t fix the problem then proceed with doing a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps don’t work then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
