S6 Charges Abnormally After Nougat Update
Problem: My phone charges abnormally after the nougat update. Firstly I need to connect and disconnect many times so that fast charging is enabled. After that it only charges till 81 % and then charging is stopped. I need to connect again to continue charging from 81 %. I tried wiping partition cache and master resetting my phone. Further I tried charging in turned off mode too. Then I thought maybe it is a dirty flash so I tried flashing nougat with Odin. After all this troubleshooting still the problem exist. Samsung support is telling that they have not received any problems with S6 till now. How it is even possible? Please guide me through this issue.
Solution: Since it’s clear that you have already performed all of the possible troubleshooting steps including a factory reset and even flashing the phone firmware to tackle any possible software related causes then we might be looking at a hardware related problem right now.
Listed below are the additional troubleshooting steps that you need to perform.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port as this can cause charging problems.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone.
- Try using a different wall charger.
If the issue persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery or a problem with the charging port. If this is the case then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Turned Off Not Turning On
Problem: I left the phone on the table and the battery was at 90%, when I came back 5 minutes later the phone was off and I can’t power it on. I’ve tried every button combination to turn it on, when it’s connected to a charger it gets warm on the back but still I can’t power it on. What can the problem be? Can the battery be the issue? Thank you!
Solution: It’s possible that this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty battery. You should however try to check if other factors are involved by performing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Use a different charging cord when charging your phone
- Use a different wall charger when charging your phone
If your phone still does not turn on then perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a failing battery. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S6 Not Turning On With Red LED Light Constantly On
Problem: I have the Galaxy S6. It won’t turn on and has the red led light on constantly. I have tried the various combinations of pushing the power, volume and home keys but still no joy. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Solution: The constantly on red LED light that you are getting on your phone means that the phone is charging. If your phone is not connected to a charger and the red LED light is on then this could be a hardware related problem. Start the troubleshooting by cleaning the charging port of your phone making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it. Once this is done charge your phone fro at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that’s tested to work on another device. If your phone still does not turn on then perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue persists then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Turned Completely Black
Problem: Hello I was using an app and my phone screen turned completely black on my Samsung Galaxy S6. The phone will still charge and turn on and off but I can’t see anything. I tried numerous steps and nothing works. What do I do?
Solution: Try restarting the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If the screen is still black the next step is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even when the phone is started in Safe Mode then try starting your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty display assembly in which case you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Power Button Stopped Working
Problem: Hi hoping you can help me, the power button on my s6 stopped working a while back and i stupidly let the battery die one day last week. Is there any way of getting the phone to turn back on?
Solution: Unfortunately, you won’t be able to turn on the phone unless you have the power button fixed. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring your phone to a service center and have this power button checked.
S6 Stuck In Boot Logo
Problem: In my Samsung Galaxy S6 Phone repeatedly logo flash and doesn’t go through this to turn on the phone. This issue come from yesterday in my phone. Please provide the solution of the issue if you have. Thanks
Solution: What you need to do first in this particular case is a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it is still stuck in the logo screen then perform the additional steps listed below.
- Check if the issue occurs when you connect your phone to its charger. If it doesn’t then this is most likely caused by a faulty battery or other hardware component. In this case you will need to bring the phone to its service center and have it checked.
- Start your phone in recovery mode. From here you need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
- In case the reset fails to fix the problem then your phone might be bricked. If this is the case then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website where you will also find instructions on how to flash your phone.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Locked Out After Nougat Update
Problem: Hey! My Samsung Galaxy S6 updated to Nougat overnight and now I am completely locked out. The phone is on and has power, and I can reach the pattern unlock screen, however when I enter my pattern it does nothing for a moment or two, before returning to sleep. I cannot unlock the phone through google or samsung online as these seem unable to find the device. I’d be really grateful for any help or advice. Thanks
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
S6 Keys Not Working After Phone Got Wet
Problem: I got my phone wet and put it in rice to dry out. It will charge and hold a charge, but my soft keys and home key doesn’t work! Is there a way to get around using those keys or is this a hopeless case?
Solution: If you have already placed your phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours to dry it out and the keys do not work then this might be caused by water damage. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
