S6 Black Screen After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: Hi. I dropped my Galaxy S6 on the floor and it was as a door was closing but I picked it up before the door fully closed. IT was still in a “portrait” postilion and as I picked it up I noticed it was glitching. There were different colors and then none at all. MY phone became a black screen with a blue light that does not blink. Now that black screen is normal for me because one day my phone died and the power button became unresponsive and didn’t work. I never got it fixed and used the volume down and home button but the black screen and light was always what happened after my phone died. This time it isn’t working and every time I do it, it flickers for a second and stays black…any suggestions?

Related Problem: i dropped my galaxy s6 and can’t see the screen its black I have smart switch on my phone but can not access anything. I really need the pictures to put a dash back together I took pictures of at work pulling all the wires off everything,

Solution: There are two things that could have occurred after you dropped your phone. It’s either the connection between the display and the motherboard has loosened a bit causing this problem or the display itself has become damaged. What you should do in this case is to try to start the phone in recovery mode first. This is an environment separate from the main operating system. If the display works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. What you should do in this case is the following.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone.
  • Do a factory reset. Take note your phone data will be erased during this procedure so it’s best to have a backup copy first.

If the problem persists even in recovery mode then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Flashes White After Drop

Problem: I Dropped my phone today and the screen shattered in the top of the phone. The screen still worked after I dropped it but I started taking out the pieces of glass in the top left corner. As I took out one of the pieces the screen turned off. It will not turn back on but the bottom of the screen flashes white when I try to turn it on/reboot it. The phone has been hot for a while and the LED is solid blue and is not flashing.

Solution: The heat generated by the device is most likely caused by a short circuit related to the display which is a potentially dangerous issue since the phone might catch fire. Since the display has been physically damaged already the best thing to do right now is to have it replaced at a service center.

S6 Data Access When Screen Is Black And Unresponsive After Drop

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 fell and the screen completely cracked. I can see the notification lights, but the screen is black and not responsive to touch. I had not recently backed up my data, nor did I enable USB debugging. I have tried to remotely unlock via Find My Mobile, but that option is not active for me when I visit the site. Is there a way to remotely unlock my phone, or remotely enable the USB debugging option?

Related Problem: Hi. We have a galaxy s6 and the screen no longer works following being dropped. The screen is now black and touch doesn’t work. I am trying to back up the pictures etc but when I connect to the PC I can’t choose the option to allow access on the phone. Is there anyway to access the files on the phone in order to back them up? Thanks

Solution: There’s no way to access the phone right now and retrieve its data unless the display is going to be fixed. Your best option right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have the display assembly replaced.

S6 Apps Keep Minimizing After Phone Got Wet

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone in water yesterday, and since then any page I open or any app keep minimizing and returning back many times. there is no way I can read, write, watch, or do anything while my phone is minimizing and returning back repeatedly. I also noticed that it is heating up more now. I still can make a phone call fine, but the sensor is not detecting when my face is in close proximity, it is not turning black anymore. what should I do. Also, the phone keep trying to split the page and then giving me the message that “recent apps does not support split screen

Solution: It’s likely that water has entered the phone and is affecting some of the internal components of the device. What you need to do in this case is to turn off your phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside your phone. After 48 hours try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet Issue & Other Related Problems

One of the worst things that can happen to our smartphones is getting it wet. While the current flagship models mostly have a waterproofing feature the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 does not have this important feature. This is why owners of this phone should not let their device come in contact with water otherwise it might get damaged. What if the phone comes in contact with water? This is what we will be addressing today as we tackle the Galaxy S6 not turning on after getting wet issue & other related problems.

S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: Three days ago I dropped my phone by accident in water. I immediately removed it when I noticed it was in there and attempted to dry it off. I attempted to turn off the phone by holding the power button on the side but the screen started to glitch and then went blank and I was unable to properly turn it off. The phone continued to have the service light on flashing blue to indicate that I had notifications coming in. I attempted to again turn off the phone by pressing and holding the side power button it seemed to have worked because the lights did go off. I immediately put it into rice to try and wick out all of the moisture in it. The phone was in rice for three days and finally I removed it and attempted to power it back on and it did not work. I plugged it into one of my chargers and it was unresponsive. I am wondering if you have any advice as to how to get the device to turn back on. There are a lot of Irreplaceable photos on my phone that had not been backed up. I don’t care about the device I just want to get the photos off. I don’t know what version of software I have on my phone it’s a Samsung Galaxy S6 that was purchased in 2015 with all of its updates and all of the software updates up-to-date.

Related Problem: My phone got wet from the rain. I tried to dry it 12 hrs by putting rice. It turned on but whenever I charge it, it’s turning off. I tried to put it back on the rice, it turned on again. Now I can’t use it at all, not even charging and it overheat. What should I do?

Solution: Water is the biggest enemy of electronic devices. This is especially true if the device is on and gets wet since it will most likely cause some internal components to get shorted. When your phone comes into contact with water the best thing to do is to switch it off then dry it. Wipe the exterior of the phone first then once it is dry place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours to absorb the moisture inside the device. This is actually what you did which is good. Now unfortunately the phone does not turn on which means that some component has been water damaged. You won’t be able to recover any of your phone data if your phone is in this state. What you need to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. If the problem is caused by a damaged battery then have this battery replaced. If it is caused by any other component then have the component replaced. Once the defective component is replaced you will be able to turn on your phone and gain access to your data.

S6 Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: My galaxy s6 was charging and now wont come on it just blinks on and off the samsung galaxy s6 screen and then when i took it off the charger it shuts completely down and will not power on at all.

Solution: Here’s what you need to do in this particular case. First clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Next, charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its charger. What you will want to do is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Disconnect the phone from its charger then do a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone should restart after this. If the issue remains then try to start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the above troubleshooting steps fail to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Gets Very Hot Will Not hold A Charge

Problem: my phone gets very hot and will not hold a charge . I have not been able to find any help with this . in the meantime I will try your suggestion of a soft reset to see if that helps

Solution: If your phone gets hot then this could be caused by an app that is aggressively running in the background. To check if a downloaded app is causing this problem you should start your phone in Safe Mode. Is your phone still getting hot in this mode? If it isn’t then the problem is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could be caused by a hardware problem. You will then need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Not Charging Or Turning On

Problem: My New Samsung S6 won’t charge or came on. The only life I see is a small blue light every once in awhile come at the front top left of the phone.

Solution: For this particular issue you should try charging your phone first for at least 20 minutes. Once this is done disconnect the phone from its charger then do a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If your phone does not restart after this step then try to check if you can start the phone in recovery mode. From here you will need to do  a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the above troubleshooting steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Will Not Turn On

Problem: My galaxy S6 will not turn on. It will only turn on when it is on the charger but then shuts off. I tried everything yet it still will not come on.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Try to turn on the phone after this. If it still does not turn on then disconnect it from its charger then simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If the issue remains then this could be a hardware problem already possibly caused by a faulty battery. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Black Screen After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: I dropped the phone screen down and it cracked the screen. Screen is black but lcd light is pulsing. Will I be able to get it turned back on

Solution: Since the phone screen already has a crack then the best thing you can do right now to fix this is to have the display assembly of your phone replaced at a service center.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Screen Doesn’t Work Issue & Other Related Problems

The release of the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 in early 2015 marked the beginning of a new flagship design for the South Korean giant. Gone is the user removable battery and the microSD card slot. By trading in this two key features the company was able to achieve a very slick and modern phone design. As usual, the display of this phone still stands out. Using a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen this time with a higher 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, the phone is able to reproduce lifelike vibrant colors. There are however instances when screen related problems can occur on this device. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 screen doesn’t work issue & other related problems.

S6 Screen Doesn’t Work

Problem: My phone got water damage and the screen doesnt work at all. However when i use a charger on it (the wireless one that lights up when is charging something) it charges but still doesn’t show anything.

Solution: Unfortunately, since your phone got wet, troubleshooting this is a hit or miss affair. The best way to deal with a device that gets wet is to dry it out first. Place the phone in a bag of jar for at least 24 hours. The rice acts as an absorbent and will take out the moisture inside the phone. Ideally, the battery, SIM, and other removable parts should be removed when doing this to maximize the effect of the rice however this phone is sealed and can’t be easily opened so you will have to dry it out this way. Once the 24 hours are up check if the issue still occurs. Try starting the phone in recovery mode. This allows you to check if the issue is software related. If the screen works in this mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data. If the screen still doesn’t work then I suggest you have the phone checked at a service center as it could have some damaged components due to the water.

S6 Hot With Black Screen

Problem: Problems started today, at first it kept on crashing on snapchat then on whatsapp. Closed both and restarted then it seemed fine with whatsapp. Later on tried to use snapchat again and it just froze up then I got a completely black screen and now it’s really hot and I tried to turn it off by holding down the lock button then also tried resetting by holding the up volume home and lock screen buttons but still nothing and it’s still really hot what should I do? Plus I’m in the US visiting my auntie and I’m for the next month so I can’t just go in to where I got the phone from and have them fix it.

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to try a battery pull. You can do this by pressing and holding the Power key and the Volume down key for at least 7 seconds. The phone should reboot in this case and should start normally.

If the issue still occurs and the phone is hot then there could be an app aggressively running in the background or the phone could have a shorted circuit. In this case the best thing that you can do is bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Black Screen After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: I dropped  my phone at gas station getting out it didn’t crack the screen or anything and was all good. A couple hours later I pull it out and the screen was blue but could still see stuff on screen. Then it started turn setting on and off by itself and kept getting worse fast and started to go black. The whole screen is black now but it has sound and lights and charges turn on and off but is it a gonna

Solution: If you still hear notification sounds on your device then it’s possible that the display has been damaged due to the drop. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in recovery mode. This is a separate runtime environment from the main software of the phone and is useful to check if the issue is software or hardware related. If the display works in this mode then it’s possible that the phone software is causing this problem. You should proceed with a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data. However if the problem still occurs even in recovery mode then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that the display assembly needs to be replaced.

S6 Screen Flickers Under Bright Light When Auto Brightness Is Active

Problem: Hello! When the phone is under direct sunlight and auto brightness is on the screen starts flickering non-stop until I turn off the auto brightness or move to shade.

Solution: It looks like the phone is adjusting the brightness of the screen based on the lighting environment. The phone however should not flicker non-stop. This issue is either caused by a faulty sensor or a corrupt temporary data in the device. Try checking first if the phone software is causing this issue by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone just yet. Instead, proceed with checking first i the issue still occurs.

If the problem still persist then this could already be a hardware related problem. You can check the light sensor by accessing the dialer and tapping *#0*#. The diagnostic menu will appear on the display. Check on sensor then tap on the light sensor test. Cover the top portion of our phone with your hand then remove your hand repeatedly. The values on the screen should change. You should also check the light sensor with the phone placed under direct sunlight. The values should not change in this case.

If the problem is determined to be hardware related then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Camera Icon Not Working In Lock Screen

Problem: Lock screen has 2 icons, one for the phone and one for the camera.  Apparently I have to swipe first to “unlock” and then I’m given a keyboard for my password.  Fine (I can live with the new swiping requirement).  But I can’t find a way to get to the camera without unlocking by password.  In other words the camera icon is sitting there and there are no results when I tap. At least, after swiping, I’m given an option of making an emergency call or typing password.   But I get no option to use the camera through the lock screen itself.   It’s sounds more confusing than it is.  I just think the camera access is no longer available through the lock screen.    Thanks for any suggestions!

Solution: Did this issue occur right after a software update? If it did then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset as this could be caused by a glitch in the phone software.
