S5 Does Not Power Up Properly
Problem: My phone does not power up properly. When I press power button, it power up by displaying the Samsung logo, followed by starting sound (Music). After few second it vibrates and restarts automatically. It keep on restarting automatically and I cannot power it off until and unless I remove the battery forcefully. I have done the factory resetting many times including wiping of catches. Please help me with this problem.
Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t then you should ty replacing the battery as your phone might have a faulty battery. If the issue still occurs even with a new battery installed then this is most likely caused by a faulty internal component. Bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Use Original Cord Error
Problem: I am using the original power cord and charger but all of a sudden I started getting messages that I wasn’t using the appropriate power cord. This is the same cord I have always used and it is not accepting it. VERY FRUSTRATING! Now my phone is dead and I know I need to download an update. I don’t have a landline so I am cut off from use of a phone. Why did my phone all of a sudden decide the cord I have been using for 3 years was not OK to use?
Solution: There are instances when the charging cord becomes damaged already due to wear and tear especially if it is constantly coiled or bent. You should try getting a new cord then check if the phone will charge normally. Make sure to clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air before charging it. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. If the problem persists then try using a different wall charger.
S5 Starts But Screen Is Dark
Problem: Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A AT&T Power up and blue led appears in upper left corner AT&T jingle audible I can hear volume go up and down when I press the sound button I can hear my device take a picture Two white icons appear in both lower corners (back button and page icon) The device will vibrate when it boots up The s5 will not display Samsung’s start up page, it is dark screen Device will not display home page Device will not show the boot up menu (safe mode, boot up now, recovery mode or hard restart) If I try any of these items I can not see what mode It is in because the screen is dark. I have tried to fix the issue with everything that is on the web. Battery out and replace, hold the button configuration and then replace the battery, SIM card out, SIM card in, external memory card both in and out. Nothing I have done will illuminate the screen. I wish I had the wisdom of King Solomon then I would not have to write this extremely long email. Please help. Thank You…..
Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty display assembly or a loose connection between the display assembly and the motherboard. Since fixing this requires that the phone needs to be opened I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Won’t Get Past The Samsung Logo At Startup
Problem: Hi My daughter’s S5 won’t get past the “Samsung” logo at startup. I’ve tried safe, recovery and just about any boot sequence I can try – on, home and vol up, on, home and vol down and so on, but none of them work. Does this mean that the only option is the bin or are there other fixes that can be applied? The connection to the laptop won’t enable either, so options are limited. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it first as sometimes a corrupt card can cause this particular issue.
Try to check if you have done the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
- Manually flash the phone with its updated firmware file.
If the above steps don’t fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Boot Loop
Problem: Hi, someone tried to ring me via facebook, I couldn’t pick up so tried to ring back on facebook and my S5 shut down, tried to re start, it beeps then get the Samsung galaxy S5 screen up, then a blue light top left hand corner, then after a while the screen beeps, goes black, then it beeps and starts the process again. Tried the soft reset, then tried a full factory reset still getting the same. Has the phone died or do you think there is a solution. Thanks in anticipation
Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t then your phone might have a weak battery which is causing it not to boot up properly. Try getting a new battery then check if the issue still remains.
The other troubleshooting steps you should consider doing should the issue persist are listed below.
- If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.
- Try removing the battery and microSD card of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone turns on.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Keeps Restarting Unless Plugged To Charger
Problem: My phone keeps restarting but if I plug it into the charger it does boot well. It just started yesterday. And today it got worse if I unplug my phone from the charger it will turn off suddenly and then it will keep restarting. I badly need your help. Thank you so much. I haven’t done factory reset yet.
Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by a faulty battery. Before replacing the battery try to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then try getting a new battery.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Screen Display Not Turning On
Problem: Hi, My problem with my S5 started with the screen just flickering when on low brightness but this was solved by just raising the brightness. Then it progressed to the screen display not turning on but the vibration feedback still goes on. I would work my way around the problem by pressing the lock button on and off repeatedly with a few seconds in between, then it would eventually turn on but he screen will flicker before it does. After a while, it would seem to take longer to do in colder weather. Then I noticed if I heat up the screen (body heat, a heater, etc), it would turn on after a few minutes!!!! Is there any solution to this problem??? Please let me know. Thank you for your time!
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to immediately check if a software glitch is causing this. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check if the display still does not turn on. If the problem still persist then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: Hello I have a Samsung S5. Everything was going well until today when i tried to use it. I had my normal start screen but then it flickered for a second and suddenly went black. After that when i tried to start it, it just went to the samsung s5 logo then went black again. I tried to remove battery, took out my sd card, wiped cache and did a factory reset. But nothing changed. Thank you for your help.
Solution: Try using a new battery on your phone and check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 No Response Does Not Turn On
Problem: I have a samsung s5, not sure which android version I have and cannot check as the phone will not power up. Won’t indicate it’s charging when the charger is plugged in, also tried a known good and charged battery. Tried holding all the button combos that are posted, i.e. power, home, volume down. The phone has no response of any kind. No damage, wasn’t dropped. Was put on charger the night before just fine, woke up the next day in this state. Hopefully you help, thanks.
Solution: This problem could be caused by a malfunctioning power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S5 Froze While Using An App
Problem: I have a galaxy S5 that was working perfectly fine until it froze while i was using an app. i did a soft reset but then it froze again, i couldn’t put in the pattern. I did again and was able to put the pattern in but froze again. tried the soft reset a few times with no luck. Help!
Solution: Try to check if you can start the phone in Safe Mode. From here you should uninstall the app that you were using when the phone froze.
If the above step doesn’t fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
