S5 Screen Flickers Yellow

Problem: I have Samsung Galaxy S5 and I have never had problems with it until maybe 2 months ago. As I’ve looked before on the forums and got some answer, it never worked so I’ll describe it here. When set at the lowest brightness setting, the ENTIRE screen flickers green and yellow lines. Along with this, when I try to unlock my phone, the screen flickers yellow then goes back to black, but if I touch the screen, I can still try to put in my pass code because it vibrates under my touch. It takes a long time and a few tries of locking the phone and then unlocking it again to try to get it to turn on and show me the actual screen. No clue how to fix this, and I don’t know if I have a warranty on my phone. I got it at Walmart and have had it since December 2015.

Solution: While Super AMOLED displays are great at reproducing colors there are instances when certain flickering issues can occur especially when the display is set at a minimum brightness level. This is most likely caused by the difference in voltage levels that arrives at each pixel of the display. Sometimes though the phone software is causing this problem.

For this issue that you are experiencing in your device try to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

The first thing that you should do in this case is to start the phone fresh. This way you can verify if an app you installed is causing the issue or if a glitch in the phone software is responsible. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the screen still flickers try turning off the auto brightness feature then set the brightness level to maximum.

If the screen still flickers or if it is unresponsive then you need to have this checked at a service center as the issue could be caused by the display itself.

S5 Screen Flickers Then Goes Black

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S5 has just started flickering when I press the power button to turn the screen on. After a few minutes of being off, the screen will flicker then go black. It will continue doing this for a few times, then the screen will come on just fine. But after a few minutes of being off again, it will flicker and go black again.

Solution: The first thing you need to do to in this case is to check if an app installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. While the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Check if the phone flickers in this mode. If it does then there’s a possibility that a third party app is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then the next step is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will delete the temporary system data which if corrupt can cause this problem.

One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

S5 Flickers Yellowish Green

Problem: Sorry to bother you but I have a Galaxy S5 and everytime I’m on it the screen goes down and then it starts blinking on and off and then the screen turns yellowish green. I did remove the battery and then put the battery back in and it still doing the same thing is it something in this type of model phone go through or is it like a technical issue I need to deal with Sprint

Solution: For this issue you need to follow the same troubleshooting steps that we have suggested above. Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if it occurs. If it does then wipe the cache partition of your phone then follow this up by a factory reset if wiping the cache partition doesn’t work.

If the above steps doesn’t resolve the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S5 Green Lines Across The Screen

Problem: My s5 suddenly began showing green lines across the screen one day. I had done nothing to it prior to it doing that. Now it takes me forever to get the screen to show. It either remains black and the bottom buttons turn on or it flashes green lines and goes black. It has been doing this for almost a week and it is driving me crazy. I have tried a factory reset, soft reset and starting it in safe mode. I have no idea what else to do. It’s either black or glitching green lines. I need my phone. Please help! It’s only 6 months old.

Solution: This is most likely caused by a defective display. Have this checked at a service center. You probably will need to have the display replaced.

S5 Black Screen After Phone Dropped

Problem: Hi, I’ve been having problems with my phone that are getting me worried. 2 days ago i’ve dropped my phone on the screen on the flat ground. It only started acting up yesterday (1 day after the drop) when i try switching on my phone the screen stays black and the back and recent apps buttons switch on only. When i power it on the samsung logo etc shows very faintly and it shows as if it’s red. I have tried everything but nothing works. I am scared that if i repair it will cost me as much as a new one. Please help me i really need your help.  Thanks for your patience and assistance

Solution: It’s very likely that this issue is caused by the drop. You can however check if the phone software is causing this issue by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. If the screen doesn’t work in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by a damaged display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S5 Not Booting Up

Problem: My phone not booting up.. It stucks on Samsung logo itself. Even I tried to soft reset and tried to run the device in recovery mode by using your method but I’m unable to get the recovery mode also.. The screen just flickers for milli seconds and boooom… And black screen appears.. Not even able to hard reset. But when I press Volume down  home key power button I get the custom rom window which I don’t really know…. Please I need the solution.

Solution: It’s possible that the phone software is corrupt. I recommend that you manually flash the phone with its stock firmware file. While this will erase everything in your device ( you will lose your data) there’s a possibility that it will fix this issue. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

It’s definitely a good choice for those who usually do a lot of multimedia tasks while on the go. Although the display of this phone is quite good there are instances when screen related issues can occur. S5 Green Flashing Screen

Problem: Hello, So I have been experiencing a green flashing screen on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I have taken the steps indicated by your site. I have tried my phone on safe mode and the issue persisted. I then completed a factory reset on my device, as you can probably guess this did not fix this issue either. I would like to note that this phone is only 10 months old and has never came into contact with water. I can not recall ever dropping this phone, and have had it enclosed in an otterbox defender case since its purchase. I also, have had a security system to protect my phone from malware and viruses. As you can imagine I am very disappointed that this issue has occurred within the first year of purchase. My question to you is what do I do to get this issue resolved? Regards

Solution: Since you have already performed most of the troubleshooting steps to check if the phone software is causing the issue then this may already be caused by a defective display or a loose connection between the display and the phone’s motherboard. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.

S5 Unresponsive Screen

Problem: Alright so I have absolutely no idea what could have caused this but basically this morning I started using my phone and the touch screen, as well as the buttons on the side, has become incredibly unresponsive, as in it acts as if i’m pressing down on the screen for a while when i’m really just tapping it lightly, e.g i’ll go to type a text and it lags and sends half the characters as ones with accents. There’s also similar issues with the buttons, e.g i’ll press the volume button once and it’ll turn the volume halfway up, as well as the home button brings me to the google search screen like it would if i held it down, and the things on the left and right of that button doesn’t work anymore. I’ve factory reset it and the same issues still occur, so any help would be hugely appreciated

Solution: If the factory reset fail to fix this issue then this is most likely a hardware related problem. Have you gotten your phone wet somehow? This issue usually occurs whenever a component inside the phone fails due to moisture or getting water damaged. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S5 Screen Does Not Light Up

Problem: Today i accidentally stood on my phone. After this the screen would not light up and remained blank. i know that the sound still works as i hear it when i turn it on and so does the touch screen as when i move my finger across the screen when the phone is on it vibrates as it thinks i am entering the wrong password. there seems to be a crack on the inside of the screen as i can see the crack but i can’t feel it. I’m not sure about my carrier or version because i can’t access my phone to check.

Solution: It’s very likely that the display has been damaged already. You need to have this checked and replaced at a service center.

S5 Black Screen After Phone Dropped

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy 5 took a hard drop on the ground, now the screen is dark, I can hear the phone working, but it will not turn off.  I have removed battery waited more than 10 seconds and tried to reactivate the screen but it immediately goes to on and I can hear it working but just black screen.  Love this phone but it is a pain in the neck.

Solution: You will need to have this phone checked at a service center. It’s either the connection between the display and the phone’s motherboard has become loose or the display has been damaged in which case this needs to be replaced.

S5 Screen Flickers When Unlocked

Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, when you try and unlock it the screen won’t come on or will flicker then go dark, it also flickers when the brightness is low. If I warm it up it fixes all these issues but then it gets cold again. I was given an iphone so have just started using that but I prefer the android. After I got the iphone I did a master reset on the Samsung but the problem still persists. Thanks.

Solution: Since the issue still occurs even after a factory reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center to pinpoint the exact component that’s causing this problem.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Screen Is Unresponsive Issue & Other Related Problems

The Super AMOLED display of the #Samsung #Galaxy #S5 is considered as one of the best in a mobile device. It has a size of 5.1 inches and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 432 ppi. Needless to say, images on the screen appear vivid and lifelike. While the display of this phone is expected to work without any problems there are however instances when some issue can occur. This is what we will tackle today as we aim to resolve the Galaxy S5 screen is unresponsive issue & other related problems.

S5 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: I got my phone yesterday and today for no reason the screen is unresponsive. The phone turns on and I can unlock it using the thumb scanner but it wont let me press anything after that.

Solution: It appears that the problem is caused by a software issue. To troubleshoot this issue try wiping the cache partition of your phone first from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data of the phone system and usually helps in this case.

Another factor that could cause this problem is a recent app that you installed in your phone. To check if this is the case you should start your device in Safe Mode. Check if the screen is now responsive. It the issue disappears then it’s possible that it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider if the issue persists is a factory reset. This reverts the phone back to its original condition when it was new. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone back to where you bought it and have it replaced ( if the warranty applies) or you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S5 Black Screen After Phone Dropped

Problem: I dropped my phone last night and now the screen is not responding at all it’s just all black it turns on tho because my alarm was going off this morning?!?! Thank you jane.

Solution: Here’s how to check if the problem i hardware or software related. Try to start your phone in recovery mode. This is a separate environment from the main operating system that allows you to run commands on the phone. If the screen is not black in this mode then the problem could be caused by the main phone software. If this is the case then I would suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.

In case the screen is still black in the recovery mode then the problem could already be caused by a damaged display. I would suggest that you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. It’s possible that you will need to have the screen replaced.

S5 Bottom Half Of Screen Flickers

Problem: The bottom half of my screen flickers but when i lock my phone for 30 min or so it’ll go away but every now and then it will come back.

Solution: Try to see if this issue is caused by a low screen brightness level by increasing the brightness of your phone. If the issue occurs even in maximum brightness then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone. Sometimes, a form of corrupt temporary data can cause this issue. Getting rid of this data is one way of fixing the problem.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Do a factory reset. This will revert your phone software back to its original condition. Take note that you need to backup your phone data before doing this.

If the issue still occurs at this point then you should have your phone  checked at an authorized service center as this could already by a hardware related problem.

S5 Screen Is Black

Problem: I smashed my screen a couple of weeks ago and everything was fine until today I was using it and then parts of the screen just went black and I could just see the top and then after I used it the whole screen went black I tried taking the battery and sim out but none of it works and I can still hear the phone being on as I hear texts come through and when I press buttons.

Solution: It appears that the display has now become physically damaged. As far as troubleshooting goes, what you can do right now is to check the condition of the phone when it starts in recovery  mode. If by a slim chance the screen works normally in recovery mode then the problem could be caused by the phone software. I suggest you do a factory reset in this mode. Take note though that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

If the screen is still black in recovery mode or if you are unable to access the recovery mode then chances are this issue is already caused by a damaged display. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will have to replace the whole display assembly of your phone.

S5 Soaked In Ocean For 45 Minutes Does Not Turn On

Problem: My Samsung s5 was soaked on the ocean for almost 45 minutes, the battery was drained. After 4 hours I think I tried to charge my phone and opened it, and yes it did opened but the screen was not functioning, so I decided to turn if off, when I tried to open it again, it stopped and just kept on vibrating when I’m trying to reboot it.. Visit a technician and he found out that the LCD was full of rust, I can’t open my phone now but it’s still vibrating..Please help

Solution: The presence of rust inside the phone is an indication that water has entered the device. This means that the phone could be water damaged which is the reason why it won’t turn on. If this is the case I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. Each component will have to be tested in this case and the one that is not working will have to be replaced.

S5 Screen Black After charging Port Replacement

Problem: I changed the charging port on my phone but when I turned my phone on right after the screen was black. Can you please help me with this? Thank you

Solution: Try to check if the cable wire that connects the phone display to the board is connected properly. You should also verify that the charging port is properly attached to the phone. If you are unable to find any problem then try to return the original charging port and see if the screen works with it.

S5 Flickers At Dimmest Setting

Problem: I bought a refurbished s5 (still not cheap) and when it is on the dimmest setting, the screen flickers. I am worried this is a sign the screen is going out and I can still exchange it for a few more weeks. So if you think this flickering is a problem I will exchange it. It does not flicker on anything but the dimmest setting.

Solution: Because this phone uses a Super AMOLED display there is a high possibility that it will flicker in low brightness settings. This happens because as you reduce the brightness of the device each pixel of the screen will get a reduced current. The reduction of the current will cause the display to flicker.

You can however try to check if this issue is caused by a problem with the phone software by doing a factory reset ( make sure to backup your phone data first). If after the reset the issue still occurs and it bothers you then you can have the phone replaced. Make sure to check if the flickering issue occurs with the new device.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Flickering Green Lines Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S5 is best known for its use of a Super AMOLED display that provides excellent color reproduction. Images and videos appear vivid and lifelike when viewed on this device. There are however instances when display related problems can occur on this phone which is what we will be discussing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will fix the Galaxy S5 flickering green lines issue & other related problems. We have gathered several issues of this nature that have been recently sent to us by our readers and have addressed them below.

S5 Flickering Green Lines

Problem: Flickering green lines across the screen right before going into stand by and when trying to wake it up I have done the factory reset but I am still having the same issue even before downloading apps it has been happening since the lollipop android 5.0 came in, could it be this?

Solution: You could check if the phone software is causing the problem by accessing the recovery mode of your phone. From here you should check if the flickering green screen issue still occurs.  It’s also best if you wipe the cache partition of your device. If the problem occurs in this mode then it could be caused by an issue with the phone hardware, possibly the display. If this is the case you need to have the phone checked at an authorized service center.

If the problem does not occur in this mode then you should check if the phone is running on the latest software version. It’s also a good idea to flash the previous software version on your phone to check if the update to Lollipop caused the problem.

S5 Screen Jumps Up And Down Then Freezes

Problem: As I am trying to use the phone, the screen jumps up and down the screen and freezes.  Especially when using the keyboard in any app and texting.  Sometimes just the status bar flickers and when it does this the phone is frozen and i can’t use it.  This is the second S5 to do this to me, the first time Telstra replaced the phone as it was under warranty.  So I know that restarting it, resetting it, clearing the cache etc won’t work as I’ve already done this.  I just want to know if anyone else has had this happen and is there anything you can do as where I live doesn’t have the Telstra shop in it.

Solution: If doing a factory reset doesn’t resolve the issue then the problem could already be hardware related.  Just to clarify, have you performed the following troubleshooting steps listed below?

  • Factory reset the phone then immediately check if the issue still occurs ( no apps or updates installed yet)
  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode.If it doesn’t then an app could be causing the problem.
  • Check if the issue occurs in recovery mode. If it doesn’t then the phone software is causing the problem.

If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S5 Black Screen After Phone Dropped

Problem: I dropped my phone and when I picked it up off the carpet the screen was black. It had a case on it. This is the first time I’ve dropped it. The bottom buttons don’t light up. It was on vibrate and still vibrates when I hit the power button. There is a blue flashing light in the top left corner that is typically the indicator to a text or notice. I’ve tried to remove battery and hold power for a minute with no luck. I’ve repeated this action several times. I’m thinking this may be the end of the phone. Thoughts? Thank you.

Solution: Try to check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If the issue persists in this mode then this is most likely a hardware related problem possibly caused by a defective display. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. You probably will need to replace the phone display.

If however you are able to access the recovery mode and can see the options on the screen then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be deleted so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

S5 Display Is Black When Screen Times Out

Problem: OK I just picked up a used galaxy s5 and randomly when the screen times out or is manually turned off the screen goes black. Sound and touch still work. There’s a tiny flash of the screen when trying to restart but solid black. But if I take the sd card and slide it out then in quickly 1 outta 3 times I will fix the problem. Fixing the black screen can be done when phone is off or fully up and running by sliding it in and out, Tried resetting factory reset but I’m guessing a physical hardware problem. Tried other sd cards and wipes plus resets.. Any suggestions

Solution: If the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then there’s a chance that this could already be a hardware related problem. If this is the case then I would suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center so the exact component that failed can be pinpointed.

S5 Screen Is Difficult To Switch On

Problem: My screen is difficult to switch on, I press the home or power button up to 20 times, all I get is a white line 3/4 away up the screen, although eventually it comes on. Have tried loads of suggestions after googling but none have worked. Am I right in thinking this is probably hardware related.

Solution: Have you already performed the various troubleshooting steps that checks if the software is causing this problem?

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. This allows you to check if an app is causing the problem.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device. This allows you to check if some form of corrupt temporary data is causing the problem.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. This allows you to check if the phone software is causing the problem. Make sure to have a backup of your phone data before doing this.

If you have already performed the steps listed above and the issue still occurs then this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

S5 Screen No Light After Phone Dropped

Problem: phone fell and now has no light on the screen but rings normally when someone calls. the screen is dark has has no display on it. screen isnt cracked. don’t know the android version since screen is dark and i can’t manipulate it.

Solution: It’s very likely that the display got damaged when you dropped the phone. This is what happens when nothing can be seen on the screen but you are still getting notification sounds. To verify if this is the case you should try to start your phone in recovery mode. If the issue still occurs in this mode then you will need to have the display replaced at an authorized service center.

S5 Screen Does Not Turn Off

Problem: Just received refurbished Galaxy S5 to replace a dead S4.  The power button turns off the display for a fraction of a second, and then it comes on again immediately.  The Stay Awake setting is not activated.  I am clueless how to put the screen in ‘sleep’ mode without having to turn the device off completely.

Solution: Try to check if the Smart Stay setting of your phone is enabled. If it is then try to disable it then check of the problem still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S5 Does Not Turn On After Exposed To Cold

Problem: hey i finished work yesterday and i went to turn my phone on and a grey screen came on and when it went away the screen wouldn’t turn on. btw i take my phone with me to work and i work in a factory where the temp is super cold.

Solution: Sometimes the phone battery can be affected by cold temperatures. Try to take out the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then connect the phone to its wall charge and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Check if you can now turn on your phone.

S5 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: After the update, my screen appears to go unresponsive after being locked for a while. It will not acknowledge attempts to access the camera, pin, or notifications. I can not even get the shutdown/restart menu to appear by holding the power button; though my phone will vibrate like it is going to. I have found that pulling the battery is will get the screen to work again, but then somewhere between 10 minutes – 2 hours the screen is doing it again.

Solution: If this issue happened just after the software update then it’s possible that it could be caused by data issues. Data from the old software version may not have been completely removed during the update and this is now causing the problem. To fix this you should first try to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This process delete the temporary data in your phone and usually helps. If the problem still occurs then it is highly recommended that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to create a backup copy first.

S5 Black Screen After Phone Dropped

Problem: Hi my mum dropped her s5 from no more than 2ft got a tiny crack in screen, the phone itself is still working as can hear notifications etc but the screen is black. Any idea how to fix this. Thinking it must be a wire or something. Thanks for your time

Solution: If the screen got cracked after the drop and you can’t see anything anymore but you can hear the notifications then there’s a possibility that the display got damaged.  You should however check if there are other factors causing this problem by starting your phone in recovery mode. If the screen is still black when trying to get to the recovery mode then this is already a hardware related problem caused by a damaged display. You will need to have the phone checked at an authorized service center. There’s a chance that the display will have to be replaced to get the phone working again.

S5 Screen Goes Black

Problem: My screen goes black. In order to turn it off, I have to take the battery out. Now when I put the battery back in and turn it on, I get a whole lot of colors on the screen in pixels and I don’t get a screen to operate anything at all. It goes back to black and that’s that. I get beeps that I have messages, email, but it just stays black. I cannot even see the screen to do a safe mode start or anything. It has always been in my LIfeproof case, so it looks brand new.

Solution: Just like the issue we tackled above this looks like a hardware problem already. Have you tried starting your phone in recovery mode? If you are unable to access the recovery mode then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. Since you didn’t drop the phone there’s a chance that this may just be caused by a loose connection. The worst case scenario is that you will have to replace the phone display.

If however you are able to access the recovery mode and can see the various options in this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to do this only if you have a backup copy of your phone data.

S5 Dropped Now Screen Is Black

Problem: I dropped my phone trying to unclip it from my otterbox clip it hit face down on the corner of a parking block and cracked the screen now it’s totally black can’t see anything can hear it ring it’s only a month old

Solution: If you are able to hear notifications on your phone then there’s a chance the display got damaged when you dropped the phone. The best way to proceed in this case is to have your phone checked at an authorized service center. There’s a possibility that the display will have to be replaced if it is found to be defective.

S5 Can’t Read Screen After Phone Got Wet

Problem: This phone advertises it is waterproof.  I had it in my shorts side pocket, with charger inlet fully closed.  Was walking on beach when large wave came up to my mid-thigh.  Pocket got wet, and phone damp on the outside.  That night I plugged in phone to charge it.  Next morning everything looked fine.  I left it plugged in for the day.  When I returned there was a mostly black, though some blue, mould like images on the screen.  As the evening progressed, this grew to the point where I could not read the screen, though I could see that as I swiped scrolling worked.  What could be the problem?  And what should I do about it?

Solution: One of the features of this phone is that it is water-resistant and dust-resistant . It has an IP67 rating which means that can be submerged under 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. There are however some conditions that needs to be met in order for the phone to survive a dunk in the water. First, the back cover must be secured and must create a tight seal. Press the back cover until you hear a clicking on the edges. You should also make sure to press the cover just below the LED flash. The USB cover should also be covered tightly to seal the phone.

Since this problem occured right after the phone got wet then it’s possible that the phone internal hardware came in contact with water. You need to take out the battery first and check if there is any sign of liquid or moisture in your phone. I recommend placing the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours then checking on it again. If the problem is still the same then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

S5 Screen Is Black After Battery Got Drained

Problem: I used it this morning to take a photo, and then put it into my bag. In the afternoon I heard it power off because the battery was drained. I couldn’t get to a charger until the evening. After I charged it and tried to turn it on, the phone makes the power up sounds and voicemail sounds, but the screen is completely black. I am not seeing anything, not even the android boot screen. I have tried pulling the battery, but the screen is still black. Please help, I have no backup phone and don’t have the money for a new one right now!

Solution: To fix this problem you need to take out the battery first then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then connect the phone to its wall charger. Let it charge for at least 20 minutes before turning on the device.

S5 Screen Flickers Black When Charging

Problem: After charging or during charging- the screen will not come back on. It will flicker and immediately go blank. It takes several attempts to get the screen to come back on. Can you help solve the problem?

Solution: Try isolating the charger first as this may be causing the problem by supplying an incorrect charging voltage. Use a different wall charger and charging cord when charging your phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode and wipe its cache partition. This deletes the temporary data in your phone which could be causing the problem. If at this point the issue still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
