Huawei P9 Screen Flickers Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Huawei #P9 is a flagship phone released in 2016 that’s best known for using Leica optics for its dual rear cameras. Leica is one of the leaders in camera optics and bringing their technology to mobile devices is a good move as it makes mobile devices take great photos. The dual camera configuration of this phone is different from what other brands are doing. For the P9 one camera shoots exclusively in black and white while the other camera provides a DSLR style depth of field. Although this is a solid phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. P9 Screen Flickers

Problem: Hi I don’t know if you could help me these started recently my phone starts to flicker and sometimes it don’t, sometimes it does its that bad that I can’t touch the page my instagram app have this problem and at times the background of the phone or the online browsing I really don’t know what might have caused the problem? Thanks

Solution: The first thing that you want to do in this particular case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this you need to start the phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn off phone.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • Once the Huawei screen appears, release the Power key and immediately press and hold the Volume Down button.
  • If successful, you can see ‘Safe mode’ in the lower-left corner of the screen.

If the screen does not flicker in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I would suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you can check if the issue is caused by a system glitch.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

P9 Opening Apps On Its Own

Problem: Good evening I am having a huawei p9 lite it just started pressing itself opening menus and closing. And when I turn it off and try to unlock it it is not giving me a change, it just start pressing alphabets on the keyboard… And now as I speak the screen is blank. Your help will be much appreciated

Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue persists even in Safe Mode then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

P9 Not Turning On

Problem: I have a Huawei smartphone .Yesterday, it would not turn on at all. I followed the directions on the site, and my phone was able to turn back on and work just fine. Today, it has stopped working and I have followed the instructions to no avail. When it is plugged into the charger, I have a blinking white screen. If I unplug the phone, nothing happens and I cannot turn it on. Is the phone fixable? The phone had been saying it was running low on storage space, so I am not sure if this is related. Thank you.

Solution: The best troubleshooting that you can do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. To do this just follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the phone does not turn on then try accessing the recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then perform a factory reset in here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

  • Make sure the phone is Off.
  • Press Power, Home and Volume Up buttons together and hold them.
  • Once you see the Android System Recovery screen, release the buttons.
  • Use the Volume Down button to navigate through options. Use Power button to choose the factory reset option.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

P9 Not Rebooting After Bootloader Unlocked

Problem: Hi! So basically, I tried to root my Huawei p9 phone (by myself) December a year ago making me unlock at the same time my bootloader . Eventually, all my data was wiped out so I decided not to continue the rooting (but I have already unlocked the bootloader). There was this note that says, “Your phone has been unlocked” everytime I restart or reboot my phone. I was scared therefore I tried unlocking or locking my phone (or the bootloader) but it wasn’t successful I don’t know why. Days after I have unlocked the bootloader, my phone still restarts and reboots successfully and brings me to the home screen immediately. But lately when I restart my phone, it remains to the same note saying that my phone has been unlocked and will reboot in three seconds but doesn’t reboot at all and needs to drain all the battery first before I can charge it successfully bring me to the home screen. I needed to badly reboot my phone because I was denied to access my wifi at home but again, I will still have to wait for a long time before my battery drains and turns extremely hot before I could successfully restart it. If I will let my phone be unlocked by experts, it will be turned off and restarted, right? So they will also have to wait before my phone restarts? Please help me with my phone. I will never experiment it again. Ever.

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up by doing a factory reset. If the issue persists then you should try flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can download the firmware file from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.

P9 Pictures Saved In microSD Card Gets Corrupted

Problem: Hi I have an huawei P9 however there are issues with the sd card/ phone. It is a kingston sd card and I never had any issues with it before when using with samsung galaxy a5 . I have inputted the sd card in my new phone huawei however when i take pictures and save to sd card some of the pics later shows up as corrupted/ blank. i have formatted the sd card and factory resetted the phone but the issue still continues. I am now saving the pics to the phone memory but this is taking up space. I have also changed sd cards but still same issue. How can i resolve? Thank you

Solution: It looks like this might already be a hardware related issue probably caused by a faulty microSD card slot. The best thing that you can do right now is to have this checked at a service center.

P9 Stuck In Recovery Mode After Screen Replacement

Problem: Hey, good evening, I was wondering if you could help me. My hubby has just replaced his screen on his P9 (which he has done numerous times alas) but this time the phone isn’t working as it should. When he tried to switch it on it automatically went to the recovery menu. He tried the reboot option first but that took him back to the recovery menu. Then he tried wiping the cache…same issue. Then he finally tried the master reset and an error came up saying that the software couldn’t be found/installed. Now he’s no idea what to try next. I’ve selected that he has the newest version of android because I had to select an option, but he’s not actually sure what version it is, although he says he keeps it updated. If you have any suggestions it would be very much appreciated!

Solution: Try checking the cord that connects the display to the phone motherboard as this might be damaged. It’s also possible that the issue is caused by a faulty replacement display. If this is the case then try using another display assembly.
