Note 4 Not Connecting to The Internet
Problem: So I recently dropped my phone in the sink, yes I know stupid me. But all is fine with the phone except my internet. So my phone will connect to my wi-fi connection at home and elsewhere and if I open my internet app it loads fine, but if I open youtube or fb or snapchat or any other internet related app, it says I’m not connected to wi-fi. Is there a way to help this, also when I go to date and time. It give the wrong date and time if I select ‘Automatic date and time'(top option). And I have one more problem: If I get a text message, I get a notification, but if I press the notification and it takes me to the chat of me and that person, it doesn’t show new texts I received or send.
Solution: Did the phone get wet when you dropped it in the sink? If it did then you should make sure to dry your phone first before using it. To dry your phone just place it in a container filled with rice ( make sure to take out the battery, SIM, microSD card when doing this) for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside your phone that can usually lead to issues.
Since we are not sure if the problem is caused by your phone getting wet or if it is caused by the phone software what you should do is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issues still occur.
If the issues still occur after the reset then this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi Login Page

Solution: Have you tried clearing the cache and data of your phone browsers before opening it? Try doing this for the Chrome browser. Once this is done follow the steps listed below.
- From the Home screen, touch Apps .
- Touch Settings .
- Touch Wi-Fi .
- Touch the network you want to connect to.
- If the network is secured , enter a password. Touch Show password to display the password as you type.

Note 4 Wi-Fi Does Not Turn On
Problem: Unable to on my WiFi radio button. Able to on when my mobile data is on but cannot connect to any WiFi. Unable to use my mobile hotspot also. Please help me on this issue. Having a hard time due to this issue.
Solution: Try checking first if a third party app you installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install anything in your phone after the reset. Check first if the problem still occurs.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue then there’s a possibility that this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Mobile Data Turns Off When Screen Times Out
Problem: Mobile data (4G) stops working the moment I turn off the screen. Meaning, the mobile data will be working properly and very fine, but the moment I press the power button and the phone’s display turns off, the mobile data stops working. This happens everytime I’m on mobile data.
Solution: Try to check if your phone is running on power saving mode or ultra power saving mode. To do this just pull down the status bar from the top of the screen using two fingers. You will see the power saving mode icon, make sure that it is disabled. Scroll to the right to check if ultra power saving mode is enabled, if it is then disable it.
If your phone is not running in any power saving mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software.
Try to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Reboot your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Connected To Wi-Fi But No Internet
Problem: Phone says it is connected to WiFi but it does not want to load. I turn off the wireless icon and it will load. I have removed the connection and reinstalled with password and it still does it. I have done a soft restart as well?
Solution: Sometimes this kind of problem could be caused by the wireless router your phone is connecting to. Do you have any other Wi-Fi connections available in your area? If you have then try connecting your phone to it. If you are at your home then you can also try to restart the router and your phone then check if the issue still occurs. To further check if the problem is with the wireless router have another wireless device ( such as a laptop, tablet, or another phone) connect to it then see if the same issue occurs.
Once you have determined that the problem is with your phone you should try to connecting to the Wi-Fi source while your phone is in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If you can connect to the Internet without any problems in this mode then an app could be the culprit behind this. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset as this may be caused by a corrupt phone software.
Note 4 Internet Not Working Properly After Update
Problem: Since the system updated from 5.1 to 5.1.1 my Internet won’t work properly and the messengers won’t download picture or anything that requires MMS
Solution: Try checking the APN settings of your phone as this may have changed during the software update. Compare the settings in your phone to the settings used by your network. Make the necessary changes in your device if necessary.
If your phone is using the correct APN settings and the problem still occurs then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is a highly recommended procedure that needs to be done if issues occur after a software update.
Note 4 Can’t Connect To A Particular Wi-Fi Source
Problem: I am having a wifi connecting problem, only to that particular wifi address . The weird thing is that all my colleagues can connect to that wifi except me.
Solution: You should try to delete the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then scan for it and connect to it again. Make sure to enter the correct password if one is needed.
Note 4 Website Restricted Error
Problem: Everytime I try to access a website either using Firefox or straight internet I get a web restricted error that my personal settings have to be reset to accept the different with site
Solution: Does this issue on a Wi-Fi and mobile data connection? If it does then the issue could be caused by a setting in the browser or by a security app installed in your phone. Try starting your phone in Safe Mode first. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then an app you installed in your phone could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstal it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then try to clear the cache and data of all your browser apps.
If the problem persists then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In the event that the issue only occurs when your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi connection then the problem could be with the router. Try connecting your phone to another Wi-Fi source then check if the issue still occurs.
