Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Reboots On Its Own Issue & Other Related Problems

Note 4 Reboots On Its Own

Problem: It battery is fine. IT Shuts off and reboots when I try to do anything with it. I AM SO FRUSTRATED . I REALLY cannot afford a new phone, on disability. I Factory reset it and all. NO change.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does, then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. Another possible factor that can cause this problem is a faulty battery. You will need to get a new battery to check if this is the case.

A software glitch can also be the culprit in this case but since you already performed a factory reset then it’s safe to eliminate this possibility.

If the above troubleshooting steps fails to fix the problem then it’s very likely that this is already caused by an internal component that is failing to work. If this is the case then the best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Reboots And Freezes Randomly

Problem: My Note 4 started acting weird in the last 2 weeks after some updates.  It would turn off by itself, reboot by itself and freeze.  I bought a new battery and it kept doing it. I did one of your troubleshooting to wipe the cache and now it won’t start.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the device. To do this you will need to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone making sure that it is free from any dirt or debri. You can use a can of compressed air to clean this port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that you see the charging indicator on the screen.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also check if the phone charges from a computer USB port.
  • If the phone still refuses to charge then try getting a new battery.

Once the phone turns on after charging what you will want to do is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then backup your phone data. Once this is done perform a factory reset. As soon as the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. You will need to check first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

Note 4 Slow Charging

Problem: My phone was charging but due to voltage problems it restart by itself and now i am facing slow charging issue.. 10 percent in an hour.. what to do?

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the charger that you will be using has an output of 2A.

Another factor that can cause this problem is a faulty battery in which case you will need to get a new battery.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset. This will allow you to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing the problem.

In case the above steps fail to work then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Have a galaxy note 4 helping fix for a friend have tried the resets still will not turn on plugged into charger and also changed battery still won’t turn on. Any suggestions?

Solution: If the battery that was replaced has charge on it and the phone will not turn on then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The power button of the phone might not be working or the power IC of the device is already faulty. What you need to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Verizon Unlocking The Bootloader

Problem: Marshmallow is the worst android version I’ve ever had at least even with 4.2.2 with its security and SD card flaws was stable, 6.0 and any version of it ,have been nothing but issues for me. But anyways my main issue is how do I unlock the bootloader and permanent root so I can change to a custom nougat rom? And what rom do you recommend as the coolest and offers the most options for customization and performance? I really want all my voice features to work as best as possible ie, search by voice, voice unlock and notifications etc I also want my fingerprint scanner to properly work , I read somewhere that it was just a software not hardware problem and that the scanner has so many other things it can do also I would like my heartbeat sensor to work and my auto rotation because both have not worked since lollipop , I just factory reset and my phone is still super slow and unresponsive and I’ve owned 4 note 4 phones with none of these issues only this one and only since the 6.0 update. Basically looking for everything that came with my phone to not only work but work like it should or close to it as possible. And can you please email me or send me the downloads I would need to unlock bootloader , root , and any mods that are close to what I’m looking for. I appreciate any help you can offer and lastly I’m also trying to carrier unlock my phone how would I do that without calling and getting the unlock ie from verizon the original carrier for my note 4 (I use tmobile on it but verizon is the original carrier , and also before I forget trying to not only stream my screen to pc windows 10 but also use my phone as a remote for my k2 box android TV and need to somehow get back ussd code function

Solution: Unlocking the bootloader of a Verizon branded Note 4 requires that you perform some complicated procedure on the phone. It’s best if you have some working knowledge on the Android system. The easiest method so far that I could find to unlock the bootloader of your phone comes from this XDA forum post of ryanbg at this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/note-4-verizon-bootloader-unlock-t3358913 .

Once the bootloader of the phone has been unlocked you can then root your phone then install any custom ROM that you wish to run on the device. As for what ROM is best for the device is going to be your personal preference. Different ROMs have different advantages, some offer a smooth user experience yet compromise on some features while others have tons of features but then may have some bugs. It’s best that you personally check which ROM you would want to use.

As for the unlocking of your phone there are several methods that you can choose from.

First you need the IMEI number of your phone. Once you have this you can contact Verizon and ask for the SIM unlock code. This code will be sent to your email.

The second method to unlock your phone is to purchase a SIM unlock code from a third party SIM unlock service.

Note 4 Firmware Upgrade Encountered An Error

Problem: I was trying to update but each time I finish the update, the message is still there. I Ended up doing it up to 5 times before I got “Downloading do not turn off target”. Even with this, I could still power my phone and use it, until I gave a technician who flashed it with Smart switch. Now when the phone is connected to Odin it displays “fail”. I am stuck with message ” “firmware upgrade encountered an issue, connect to kiez and try again”

Solution: What you should do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If the error message in Odin still appears then try the following.

  • Uninstall Odin then download a fresh version and install it in your computer.
  • Try using a different USB cord to connect your phone to the computer.
  • Try connecting your phone to a different USB port.
  • Try using a different computer.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center as this could be caused by an issue with the charging port.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Shuts Down When Screen Goes Dark Issue & Other Related Problems

Although we could say that the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is already an old device it is still quite an exceptional phone today. A lot of people who are using it as their daily driver are satisfied with its reliability as it delivers a solid performance. It might be showing some signs of aging such as not able to smoothly run some of the latest 3D games but overall it does deliver. Sometimes though certain issues can occur on this phone which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 shuts down when screen goes dark issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Shuts Down When Screen Goes Dark

Problem: When my Note 4 screen goes dark the phone shuts off completely and the only way I can restart it is to take out the battery.  Once I reinsert the battery it will power up and will stay on as long as I am using it.  As soon as it idles for 2 minutes it shuts down again.  I installed a brand new battery yesterday and it’s fully charged but the problem persists.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if the phone software is somehow involved in causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing one step check if the issue still occurs and if it does then proceed to the next step.

  • What you should do first is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps don’t fix the problem then it could be caused by an internal component that is failing to work, possibly the power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 turns Off Tries To Restart When Using Apps

Problem: When I’m using my phone (not on any specific app) it will turn itself off and restart but fails unless it’s plugged into charge. I tried to isolate the problem by putting my phone into safe mode but it still turned itself off. Please help, thank you

Solution: If the issue still occurs even when the phone is in Safe Mode then the next step is to try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should try replacing the phone battery. If the issue persists then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be caused by a faulty power IC.

Note 4 Shuts Off Does Not Turn On Unless Battery Is Removed

Problem: my samsung note 4 shuts off and when i try to press on/off button it won’t start so i removed the battery and installed again then it starts normally. the second time that it shuts down i connected the charger and without removing the battery pushed the on/off button and starts normally

Solution: You should try replacing the battery with a new one as this problem could be caused by a faulty battery. If the issue still occurs even when the phone is using a new battery then it’s possible that this problem is caused by a faulty internal component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Shuts off With Battery Life Left

Problem: I have a galaxy note 4 my phone started shutting off at 23 percent battery life a few months ago. If I try to turn it back on it it shows 0 percent but if I plug in the charger and wait for about 15 seconds it shows 23 percent. I bought a new battery thinking possibly that was the issue but the phone does the same thing no matter which battery I use.

Related Problem: Phone keeps powering off at 45% – 25%. It will not turn back on until you plug it in. Once it is plug it, it tells you there is 40% battery life left. I have been dealing with this everyday for the last 2 weeks. I have taken the battery out and re inserting it, in hope it will work right again.

Solution: If replacing the battery doesn’t fix the problem then the next step is to check if some glitch in the phone  software is causing the problem. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below which are intended to check the phone software. Move to the next step should the issue remain.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue still occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: So my phone is completely dead and has no power whats so ever. So before this happened phone was working fine then I notice phone rebooting itself and after the last time it did it. Phone will not turn on at all. Tried everything I could fine and do. Phone is rooted not sure if it makes any difference.

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge. To do this follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger that has been tested to work.
  • Try charging your phone using a computer USB port.

If the phone does not charge then try replacing the battery with a new one. If this still fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that’s failing to work. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast After Software Update

Problem: Since the last software update my battery drain way too fast. Also when it is on charger does not say it is a fast charge. Yes i changed the battery charger, cord. All of them genuine Did factory reset, wiped the cash updated the apps etc..

Solution: If you already performed a factory reset and changed the cord and charger then you should consider getting a new battery as the current battery could be causing the problem.

Note 4 Keeps Freezing

Problem: My phone keep freezing up, I’ve had the phone for at least 2 years it just started freezing up. I’ve reboot it and turn off let set for a while still isn’t working. I maybe putting too much on it I really, don’t know what’s wrong. Thanks!

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? You can start the troubleshooting by removing this card as this could be causing the problem. If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue still occur? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Randomly Switches Off Issue & Other Related Problems

Getting a #Samsung#Galaxy #Note4 in 2017 is like getting a vintage car today. It might not come with the latest technology and have all those extra features but then you can be assured that it is solid and performs well. Initially released in 2014 this phone was one of the best Android smartphones back then. The phone has a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display making it great for productivity tasks especially when the S Pen is used. Although this is a reliable phone model there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 randomly switches off issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Randomly Switches Off

Problem: hello my name is Nina. so in the beginning , my phone kept dying. it would be at 100% and sometimes at 40%/%05 it dies on me. the rate at which power was draining was ridiculous so i quickly replaced the battery. power longer now with the battery but it still dies on me at 20%/355. this seems to happen when am doing something like receiving a call, using an app , taking pics and most especially playing music. if i have been playing music the whole time, for instance battery is at 100% and i start playing music, when it gets to 40% the phone dies. put it on charger and it’s on 0%. it charges fast. I just got off a call, it was at 35%, once the call is finished and i opened a message on Facebook, checked a message on insta. phone slowly switched off. now its on Charge. what’s really the problem? what can i do to solve this issue please?

Related Problem: HI good morning, I bought my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 about year on 8 month now about 6 month after I noticed that whenever my phone reaches 30 percent the phone would shut down however I purchase a new battery in February of this year didn’t have any problem with the battery until two days ago I was using my phone to send a message my battery at the time was 36 % after sending the message I realized the phone indicate battery low on just shut down. So am asking what could have caused the issue.

Solution: Since you already tried replacing the phone battery then the next step is to check if a software glitch is causing this problem. You should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty power IC. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly After Security Update

Problem: I’ve received the July security updates about 2 weeks ago, and since then the mobile turns off when the battery reaches 35%, in addition to that, the battery drains so quickly, it’s 65% and the next second it’s turned off and when I attach the charging cable it shows 30% and one time it showed 0%. what may be the problem? and if I downloaded the previous version of the rom would it be ok? or if you have a better solution I would be thankful.

Solution: If this problem occured right after the security update then it’s possible that it is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in issues such as this. What you will want to do right now is to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done proceed with backing up your phone data then perform a factory reset.

If the issue remains then I suggest you try using a new battery on your phone.

Note 4 Shut Down Randomly

Problem: My problem with my Note 4 is the same at the “Galaxy Note 4 keeps shutting down by itself, other issues” topic. It shuts down when the battery is at 60% or at similar percentages. There is an exception for this issue. When the phone is in the power saving mode (which starts immediately) I can use it until the battery is 0%. I am using the phone while power saving mode is on since 1 year. What can the problem be? Perhaps a bad process starts when power saving is off.

Solution: If the phone does not shut down randomly when it is operating in power saving mode then the problem might be caused by some software glitch. The first thing that you should do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is completed do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to get a new battery as this problem might be caused by a faulty battery.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: My note 4, purchased new few years ago, was working fine on Aug. 11, then the next day, it would not power on.  I tried all of the soft reset and reboot methods I could find, but nothing worked. Today, the 14th, I took the note 4 to a local Quick Fix phone shop.  After a few hours, they reported that they could not repair it — they said that the problem was definitely software.  I thought it was hardware related, perhaps the power on switch.  This phone has never been dropped or exposed to water, and, up to this time, has never presented a problem.

Solution: If some software glitch is causing this problem then you will still be able to start the phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset ( which erases all of the phone data). In case the phone does not start in recovery mode then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you should perform.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging your phone from a computer USB port.
  • Try getting a new battery.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to another service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly Then Restarts

Problem: Battery goes suddenly from 80% to 19% and then phone reset without an end. I’ve not yet tested a plain phone but suspect it is a faulty battery as replacing the battery solves the problem. Just trying to charge the old battery to use it as a spare battery but seems not possible. Battery has been used during 2 years with a decreasing usable time. It’s the original Samsung battery model EB-BN910BBE S/N: AA 1F A16yS/2-B No production date.

Solution: If replacing the battery fixes the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty battery. I recommend that you get a new battery for your phone to avoid this issue.

Note 4 Turns Off At 50% Charge

Problem: My galaxy note 4 battery is turns of the phone at 50-60% charge. When I start recharging it quickly gets to 100% charge. Can you advise on how me on how to sort this problem. I have had to quickly buy portable phone charger as the problem is causing interference with work. Thank you and hoping to hear from you soon.

Solution: There are two troubleshooting steps that are recommended for this problem. First you should check if a software glitch is the culprit by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. In case the problem still occurs after the reset then you will need to get a new battery as this problem might already be caused by a faulty battery.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Freezing And Shutting Off After System Update Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is still considered as a great smartphone today even though it was released in 2014. Sporting a 2K resolution display, a powerful Snapdragon 805 processor, and 3GB of RAM, this phone is still able to give the latest smartphone models a run for their money. A lot of people are still using this phone today which isn’t a surprise since it has proven itself as a reliable daily driver. There are however instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 freezing and shutting off after system update issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Freezing And Shutting Off After System Update

Problem: after downloading a system update, my note 4 has been freezing and shutting off at several different battery percentages (sometimes even when on the charger). Sometimes i will have to perform several battery pulls to get it to turn back on, while a lot of times a screen comes on telling me “downloading do not turn off target” and its stuck on this screen for a very long time doing nothing.

Solution: The first thing that you should consider in this case is that the phone software is causing this problem. Start the troubleshooting by checking if any of your apps has any updates available. If you are running an older version of your phone apps then this could cause the phone to freeze. Open the Google Play Store then go to the My Apps & Games section. You will see any app that needs to be updated from here.

Another step you should do is to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is working in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the problem still persist then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this still doesn’t work then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

On the hardware side the following factors are to be considered.

  • A faulty battery. If this is the case then try replacing the battery.
  • You should also try removing the microSD card of your phone as this could also cause this type of problem.

If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Drains Very Fast

Problem: Original battery on my Note 4 was draining faster than usual and turned off at 5 percent, then said 0 but still could be turned on like 15 times again and again. I bought a new Samsung official battery and it was OK at first. In short time it started to have problems when plugged in. When I plug it in it plunges 5 percent every time. And last few days it started to turn off by itself around 20 percent and says 0 when plugged in. And it still drains pretty fast.

Solution: Try checking first if an app installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Observe if the battery drain issue still occurs on this mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then try following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card if your phone has one installed. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Battery Drops To 1%

Problem: Hey guys, I have an issue with my Note 4. The battery goes down to one percent but will refuse to shut down. I tried resetting it, turning it off, unplugging the charger then plugging it back in but nothing seems to work. I plug it in and charges quite slowly, gets to like 43 percent, I unplug it, then it automatically goes down to 3 percent until I get to 1 but it will not shut off. I’m confused to why this is. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution: There’s a big possibility that the problem could be caused by faulty battery. You will need to replace this battery to fix the problem.

Another possible reason why this issue occurs is because of a software glitch. If this is the case then you should try doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 Shuts Down On Its Own

Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and for awhile now it would shut off. I would charge it while it’s on and use it for a bit in the morning that would end up my battery around 80 to 75 percent. I would turn it off during the day because of school and at the end of the day when I turn my phone on again on the bus it would turn on then turn off again repeatedly. Yesterday I did a factory reset hoping it would fix this problem but it didn’t. I would always take my battery out and put it back in when it does this but it still doesn’t work. Please help.

Solution: You should try using a new battery on your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then it’s very likely that this problem is caused by a faulty internal component possibly the power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Not Waking After Screen Lock

Problem: Hi, My Samsung note 4 fell into a rain water a week ago. I didn’t remove the battery at the time. after few hours i removed the battery and let it dry in rice for few days. Now i can on the phone and use but if i lock of the phone for more than 15 min i couldn’t on the screen even if press the power or home button. Then if i remove the battery for few minutes and assemble back the phone can be on and used. The problem is when i lock the phone for more than 15 min i cant on the screen. Is the due to battery damage. Thanks

Solution: Sometimes issues such as this can be caused by a glitch in the phone software. To check if this is the case perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty internal component.

Note 4 Stuck In Reboot Loop

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is stuck in a reboot loop after being put on the charger. I took the battery out but it did not work and when I pressed the volume up button the home button and the power button it goes into the reboot command (one line in blue letters – Reboot ……) but then kicks off and goes back into the reboot loop (Samsung screen and 2 quick buzzes). I went to a battery store and tried a new battery but it did not fix the problem. I can’t remember which Android Version it is running.

Solution: The following troubleshooting steps listed below are recommended for this boot loop issue.

  • Does your phone have a microSD card installed? Try removing it first as this could be causing the boot loop problem.
  • Remove the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps don’t work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Switches Off With Battery Life Left

Problem: My note 4 switches off at 20% battery . Sometimes at 40% battery . It restarts in a loop until I plug in a charger . Also sometime when it’s charging it doesn’t go beyond 70% and I have to remove the battery and when I put back and switch on it comes up at 90% . Also it’s been 2 yrs since I purchased my phone.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a faulty or weak battery. This is why the first thing that you should do is to replace the battery with a new one. If this fails to fix the problem then try checking if a glitch in the phone software is causing this by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I charged My phone with oppo a37 phone charger. After that my Samsung Galaxy Note4 started showing signs of problems like hang restart and getting switched off .but yesterday morning I tried charging my phone as the battery was low but the phone Switched off and heated up so I immediately removed it from charging and let it cool down. But after that I tried switching it on but it didn’t Turn on. Pls help me switching the phone on.

Solution: The heat that the phone generated is a sign that some hardware issue could be causing the problem. One possible cause is a shorted battery. To check if this is the case you should get a new battery then check if the issue still occurs. If the problem persists then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: Hi, My phone (Galaxy Note 4) had recently turn off on its own at and this had progress to not restarting unless I performed a soft reset. I have changed the battery and the condition had only improved for a day before the whole shut down things happen again. While the phone was on in safe mode, I had also clear some apps in hope of this may allow me to turn on the phone in normal mode, after which the phone continue to on in safe mode. But the phone shuts down again when left idle. Battery charging screen can no longer be seen in shut down and I tried soft reset again but there was totally no response on the phone. Can anyone help me with this or is this the end for my phone already? Please let me know. Thank you.

Solution: For this particular issue I would recommend that you do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if some glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset has completed don’t install anything in your phone yet. Try to observe first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem could be caused by a faulty power IC. If this is the case then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Freezes When Powered On

Problem: Good day! I’ve been reading all the Note 4 problems on your page but I haven’t seen anything like mine yet. A week ago, my phone started to act sluggish and hangs whenever I power it on. It hangs for a few seconds until it works again. The following days, it became worse. While it is off, it started to vibrate once then when I click the power button, the screen remains black. Although there are moments when it remained black with the normal notification light flashing. When the screen lights up, instead of me scanning my fingerprint, it asked for my backup password, which only happens when you reboot the phone. This happened a lot in a day. There are also instances when it shuts down on its own and it doesn’t boot up unless I remove the battery. Thinking that it’s a firmware related problem, I tried flashing different firmwares for Note 4 (EVR and BAL). At first run, it’s all normal but after a few minutes, the problem still persists. I have to change back my firmware because I know it was hopeless. I’ve been through a lot of flashing and even used samsung kies but everytime I flash a firmware from Kies, the phone says mmc_read fail or the WRITE FAIL message. One thing I’ve noticed is that whenever I leave my phone off and power it on for a few minutes, the hanging happens or the rebooting/shutdown happens. I cannot predict which one would take place but mostly it’s the shutting down and removing the battery is needed to power it on again. I tried charging it once after a full shutdown and it doesn’t work at all. I also tried recovery mode after putting the battery back and all it showed me was fail to boot mmc_read fail. I remove and return the battery a few more times before the phone works again. I am really worried about my phone. I don’t want to go to any repair center yet because I am still hoping there might be a way for me to solve it on my own. I hope you can help me with this, Droid Guy. Thank you!

Solution: This appears to be a hardware issue already caused by a faulty internal component. As for what particular component we really can’t say unless the phone is examined properly. The possible suspects however are a faulty  power IC, eMMC failure, or even a bad battery. Try replacing the battery with a new one first. If the issue persist then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: hello, have an issue with my note 4 (SM-N910V) I bought from ebay. When i insert the battery automatically the led green turn on, then I try to turn on the device but the phone doesn’t respond so I took the battery and insert in another phone and it works (80% of charge) and I also interchange the other battery but the phone makes the same  just turn on the led green (permanently) but the phone doesn’t respond. would you know what is the reason ? I tried to hard reset (hold 3 buttons) but doesn’t work too. Please help what options can I do. Thanks

Solution: Try reinserting back the battery to your phone then attempt to start it in recovery mode. If the phone works in this mode then you should do a factory reset. If however the same issue occurs even in recovery mode or if the phone can’t enter recovery mode then you might want to contact the eBay seller regarding this matter. If the phone doesn’t have any warranty then have it checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a hardware issue.

Note 4 Vibrating Restarting On Its Own

Problem: I OWN A SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4 AND Thursday night it just started vibrating and restarting on its own. Looping is what some have referred to it doing. I tried a new battery and took it to a tech. The tech said it appears that it crashed during an update and it won’t do a restart or a reboot. Essentially he said it’s a brick of a phone now and nothing can be done. Is this true? It’s not even 2 years old and I have lost all of my contact, pictures, etc, because I of course didn’t back the phone up. But, it would be nice to be able to salvage my $700 phone if possible. Is there any hope for me?

Solution: If the phone software got corrupted during a software update then the best way to fix this problem is to flash the phone with its updated firmware file. You will need a copy of the specific firmware file for your phone as well as a computer software called Odin. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Keeps Crashing And Lagging Since Software Update

Problem: Phone keeps crashing and lagging since software update, have changed the battery for a new one still has the same issue so tried to do the clear cache option on the restart and it came up with installing update! Then after a couple of mins the boot menu came up so I cleared the cache and restarted the phone also it seems to crash if someone sends me an email/text/whatsapp/call while it’s standing by it also seems to have trouble unlocking and will just restart. The phone is 25 months old and was going to be retired for a note 7 but we all know what happened to that, I want to hold out for the next note but feel like I should just junk this one and get a new handset even though I don’t really fancy any of the options, it’s driving me crazy.

Solution: Whenever issues occur right after a software update the primary suspect is old software data that hasn’t been completely removed during the update process. This old data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in various issues including the one you are experiencing right now. What you need to do to fix this problem is to do a factory reset. This will effectively remove the old software data. You should however backup your phone data before doing the reset as this will also be erased in the process.

Note 4 Keeps On Vibrating The Reboots

Problem: Hi there. I have a note 4 and all the sudden today, when it was on, it started vibrating over and over so I hit restart and now all it keeps doing is rebooting itself to the Samsung screen then turns off, vibrates 2 times then reboots again. It does this over and over. It will charge tho. I’ve done the soft reboot and I also cache cleaned it and reset it as well and it’s still not powering on! Please help me!

Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occur when your phone is connected to its charger? If the problem doesn’t occur then it could be caused by a faulty battery. I suggest that you replace this battery. If the problem occurs even when the phone is connected to its charger then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 Battery Drains Very Quickly

Problem: Hello. Pls tell me what can I do I don’t want to sell my handset…at first I thought it is my phone’s battery issue so I purchased a battery but it still doing same…I charged the new one and then after connecting to Internet within 5 min it was shut down and when I restarted it it showed me the charging as 0%. And sometimes it gets off at 30% charging. Even the battery drains out so fast. It seems like there’s is no issue with battery as the new one still showing the same problem or what do u think is there any hardware issue? Is there any tip I can do at home? Pls reply

Solution: What you will need to do first in this particular case is to verify if the new battery that you got is indeed working properly. To do this you should test it in another phone. You should also try using a different battery in your device.

Once you have made sure that the battery is not causing the problem the next step is to check if a glitch in the phone software is the culprit. To do this you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install any app in your phone yet. Try to check first if the problem still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Keeps On Restarting

Problem: hello, i have Samsung Note 4 with me. it working really well, but since last month i have noticed when i use to play some video song or some video content for long time, sometimes it starts restarting on and on from boot screen until i plugged in charger. when i plugged in the charger it starts normal.. but it happens when the battery level is around 35~40%..  do i need to change battery?

Solution: If your phone restarts after using power hungry apps for awhile then your phone might already have a weak battery. You should definitely ty using a new battery on your phone and see if this fixes the problem.

Note 4 Do Not Turn Off Target Is Downloading Error

Problem: Hello, My note 4 has been recently freezing and restarting at random times. The problem is bad, when restarting it will go into boot mode and say, “DO NOT TURN OFF,  TARGET IS DOWNLOADING” I turn it off, and it goes into the load up mode, and the AT&T powers up, but it stays stuck on the AT&T load screen, and the phone will not load. Also if it does load, the fingerprint lock screen will not work, it will go on swipe for whatever reason.

Related Problem: Its been 2 weeks since my phone has been shutting off and turning back on its own. It constantly gets frozen. but today the screen says could not do normal reboot and downloading do not turn off target. It’s been like that for hours. I already took of the battery and sim card but it’s still like that

Solution: The best way to fix this issue is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here you will have to wipe the cache partition of the device. Restart the phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then you will have to start the phone in recovery mode again then perform a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this.

What makes this phone model still relevant today is that its hardware is still powerful enough to smoothly run any app installed in the device. Its software has also been updated to Android Marshmallow providing the phone with many new features not found in its original software version. While this model has proven itself as an exceptional daily driver there are still instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. Note 4 Turning Off Randomly

Problem: Hey mate, I have a Samsung note 4, I’ve had it for a while now and recently it slowly started turning off randomly. Now it turns off every 2 minutes. I’ve tried the reset the phone (Down button, Power Button and Home screen button) but it stayed on the android image and saying downloading for several hours then turned off again. Any ideas? I’ve changed the battery and it was a bit better but now back to it’s normal 2 minute state. The phone has been looked after very well. Thanks

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem. To do this you should start your phone in Safe Mode. when your phone i running in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while downloaded app are prevented from running. If the phone does not randomly turn off in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then do the following steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode
  • Do a factory reset

The above steps are meant to troubleshoot the software side of the phone. If the issue is caused by a glitch in the phone software then by now the problem should disappear. If it persists then this might already be a hardware related issue. Try replacing the battery with a new one. If the issue still remains then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Not Charging To 100%

Problem: I have a Note 4 (GSM) and I was having serious battery issues. So I bought 2 new ones. They are original samsung batteries. They even work with NFC like the original. However, I cannot get either of them to charge to 100%.   THe first one I tried made it to 100% once, then never made it past 70% ever again. So I switched to the other new one, only to never get it above 63%.  At least the other one would make it to 80% if I turned off the locator.  Should I factory reset it?  I’d rather not. But I did clear the cache in recovery mode.  Still not charging to 100%.

Solution: Try using a different charging cord and wall charger first when charging your phone to eliminate the possibility of the charger causing this issue. It would be better if you clean the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air before you charge the phone. This way you will remove any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port.

If the issue still persists then you should proceed with the factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before performing the reset.

Note 4 Constantly Changes Battery Percentage

Problem: My battery constantly changes percentage. It can go from 88% – 3% – 57%. This happens while on, and whenever it’s powered off everytime I take my charger cord out and reinsert it a new percentage pops up. I brought a new battery and now my phone gets stuck on the Samsung logo screen and never turns on unless I have the charger plug in. Once I take the charger out it dies. So I had to continue using the old battery. Lastly my phone is always dropping signal whenever I’m in mid use or during a phone call. Once the signal drops I have less than 30 seconds of use before it turns off. I took the phone to a cellphone shop and they believed it was a software problem. I have wiped the partition and factory reset it. No progress.

Related Problem: I have a Galaxy Note 4, and then only problem I have with it is that it will say 17%,… All the way down to 7% and some days it will shut off at 17% like it just did, and some days it’ll shut off at 7% like yesterday when I needed my phone. I charge it well and let it die occasionally so it’ll hold its life. I’m so confused though, and I’d like any help you could give me because it’s very annoying when it says like 17% and then just randomly shuts off with no warning and when I plug it in it’s at 0%.

Solution: The best way to deal with this issue is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. What you want to do first is to check if any of the above issues still occur.

If the battery percentage is still erratic then do the steps listed below.

  • Try using a different battery.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the signal still drops then try to go to a different location. This way you can check if the problem is caused by poor network coverage.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Keeps Turning Off

Problem: Hello, my Samsung Note 4 keeps turning off even at 100% full charge. It will only turn back on if i connect my charger and not just any charger but it must be Fast Charging or else it will turn off again. Before this issue I’ve had battery issues like note 4 turning off at different battery percentages. Now it seems like it’s gotten worse. Do i need a new battery? Is it a hardware problem? By ‘turning off’ i mean the phone heats up then it seems to want to restart but only up to the point of “Samsung Galaxy…” screen then just would not turn on unless i connect a charger.

Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already however before bringing the phone to a service center for repair I recommend that you perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • What you will want to do first is eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this problem. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset ( preferably from the recovery mode). Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs.
  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in this port.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger
  • Try replacing the battery.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s time to bring your phone to a service center.

Note 4 Bricked After Software Update

Problem: Hi. My galaxy note 4 auto upgraded to android 6 in august. Ever since there were problems including screen freezes, lagging and random reboots. Tried factory resets to no avail. Eventually I sent the phone to samsung for repair. The phone was returned to me bricked with a letter stating that the phone cannot be repaired as it has severe internal physical damage not covered by warranty.

Solution: Does the phone still start? If it does then you might want to try to flash the phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the phone doesn’t turn on then you should try to get a new battery and see if the phone turns on with the new battery.

You should also consider bringing the phone to a different service center capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello, I’ve been having with a lot of problems with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. And about a month ago, I have stopped using because it never wanted to turn on even when I tried to factory reset. I finally bought a new battery and got it today. I put it in and it still didn’t wanted to turn on. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Solution: Try charging the phone with the new battery installed for at least 20 minutes. Make sure to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air before charging it. It’s also best if you use a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone. If the issue still occurs then this might be caused by a defective power IC of the phone. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Not Working

Problem: My Note 4 battery quit working in a single instant. It was sitting in my external charger (i have two batteries) and the charging indicator light was on. I took it off the charger and went to put it in my phone. I tried to power on the phone and nothing. Plugged my Note 4 charger into my phone and nothing. Terrified my phone was broken i put my mostly dead battery into the phone and it charges fine. I tried my now-defunct battery and put it back on the external charger and it doesn’t register it’s there. Any ideas?

Solution: It looks like the battery might be faulty already. One reason why a battery quits working is if the polarity has been reversed when charging it ( this usually happens when charging with an external charger). I suggest that you get a new battery to fix this problem.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Does Not Fully Charge Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is one of the mobile devices available in the market that has a large 3220 mAh battery. This allows the phone to be used at a longer period of time before needing a recharge.  On average, a consumer will get 28 hours of talk time or 10 hours of web browsing on a single full charge. There are however instances when this isn’t the case which is what we will be discussing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 does not fully charge issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Does Not Fully Charge

Problem: Hey Friends, I own a galaxy note 4 and lately I have been noticing some issues regarding the charging of the battery. This started 2 two weeks prior. I changed my battery as well and it worked well for two days and again it started to drain and now again I am facing the same issue with the battery. My battery just does not charged fully. It charges only till 69% and then remains constant even if the charger is plugged in. It discharges quickly as well…. and charges quickly till it reaches 69% and then becomes stagnant. Please help me out with this…What is the solution for this. Thank You in advance for all your suggestions.

Solution: If you have already replaced the battery with a new one then there are three possible factors that could cause this issue which we will list below.

  • Software: Sometimes a glitch in the phone software can cause this type of issue. You will need to check if an app installed in your phone is causing this problem first by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s possible that an app you downloaded is causing this. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Charger: Sometimes a defective charger can cause this issue. Try using a different charger and charging cord then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Hardware: A component inside your phone could be damaged. If this is the case you should bring your phone to a service center that does board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Down On Its Own

Problem: Previously my phone keeps shutting down on its own. I got it repaired and told me it has something to do with the phone’s rom. After a few minutes, the phone shuts down again on its own. I went back to find them and they say they will have a check. 2 weeks later they said my battery has problems and have to be switched out. Now my phone faces an issue where when i charge my phone, it shuts down for no apparent reason. The phone often gets hot when i charge it. I spent 35$ on repairing and it was no use. I hope you can help me with my note 4 thank you

Solution: Have you tried doing a factory reset on your phone? If not then try to do it. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset as it will erase your data. If this doesn’t fix the problem then try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port. Use a different charging cord and charger when charging your device.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by an internal component that is damaged. Have your phone checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Powering Off On Its Own

Problem: I have been experiencing my phone powering off on its own usually in the 50% range, has been happening more and more often, i have just ordered a new battery to help determine if in fact it is the battery, other than that i have no clue as to what might cause this, my phone is always in pristine order, i do use religiously and never had this happen to any of my past devices and they all have been a samsung model, current phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910W8 model and it is a canadian model from Telus Mobility which is unlocked since moving providers. Phone is not rooted.

Related Problem: The phone shut off by itself at 36% battery. I plugged it into a charger. When I press the power button it vibrates and starts to come on. I can see “Samsung GALAXY NOTE 4 powered by ANDROID” on a black screen. Then it turns itself off, and a few second later it vibrates again and I can see the same words on a black screen. It does this over and over. I have tried all of the refreshes and resets and so far nothing has worked. What would you advise?

Solution: If your phone turns off on its own the first thing that you need to check is if the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if your phone battery is causing the problem by replacing it with a new one.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center as this is most likely a hardware related issue already.

Note 4 Not Charging

Problem: Hello, My phone has for a long time died at random percentages. Originally it was like 20%, but as time went on it went up to 50% and 60%. I got new batteries. At the high of my battery collection was like 5. I would just cycle them to deal with the low battery problems. But I lost a couple and then some of them were cheap. I  got a fresh battery recently and it still dies at random amounts. Now I have a second problem. The phone doesn’t charge when it is plugged in. I can charge the batteries in an external charger that I have, but the battery simply does not charge when it is in the phone.  This means it is an internal problem. What is it specifically?? Thanks for your time.

Solution: If your phone fails to charge then it could be caused by a defective charger unit or it could be caused by some issue with the phone itself. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to deal with this problem.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port and is causing the problem.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps don’t fix the issue then this might be caused by a defective charging port or power IC. I recommend that you have this phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: My Note 4 keeps rebooting over and over again. I can’t even get there to do a factory reboot. I am 2 weeks away for my new phone to arrive. I was told that my phone has to be in working order to do my upgrade without having to completely pay off this phone. Meaning no cracked screen and able to turn on. This has never happened to me so I wasn’t worried. I take care of all my devices. I have never dropped this Note 4 or anything! Please help me!

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it first then check if thei sue still occurs. If it does then try connecting your phone to its wall charger. If the issue doesn’t occur then this could be a power related problem possibly due to a faulty battery. I recommend that you replace this battery. If the issue still occurs then try starting your phone in recovery mode then do the reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with the reset.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: My phone doesn’t want to turn on. At first it would shut on and off by itself even with full battery. After that, it just completely died. I tried charging it, soft resetting, safe mode, everything I’ve read on the internet, I’ve tried.  I even bought a new battery, that didn’t work. And even with the new battery I tried these things.

Solution: Since you already tried using a new battery then the problem could be caused by a defective power IC or other internal component of the phone. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Shuts Off Randomly

Problem: HI, I’m having an issue with my note 4, the other night it just shut itself off randomly I turned it back on but it would go past the Samsung screen before switch itself off and restarting before doing it again, I plug in my charger and it’s good as gold for less than an hour before shutting itself off again

Solution: The first thing that you should check in cases like this is if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. Try to check first if the same issue occurs. If it does then the problem could be hardware related. In this case you will need to replace the phone battery to verify if a defective battery is causing this problem.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs since there might be a component inside the phone ( possibly a power IC that’s defective).

Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: I have been having some serious battery issues lately. It drains power quickly and it just doesn’t last as long as it used to. My phone froze up so I took the battery out and replaced it. Before I took it out my phone was at 58% and when I rebooted it it was at 84%. I then was busy for about 3 hours and didn’t use my phone at all. When I came back it was at 45%. I then took the battery out and put it back in and my phone then went to 24%. What is happening?

Solution: There are two possible causes for this type of issue. First, some app or corrupt data is causing the processor to run constantly thus draining the battery. The second possible reason is that the battery your phone is using could be defective.

For the first scenario you would need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset ( if your phone has a microSD card installed then take it out). Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the problem still occurs.

If the issue is caused  by the second scenario then you should try replacing your battery with a new one.

Note 4 Turns On and Off

Problem: Hello, My Galaxy Note 4 turned off and on by itself. This has been happening for a week. Sometimes it didn’t turn off & on by itself for a day, sometimes for few hours. But for the last 19 hours, I have been trying to turn it on and it doesn’t. Battery is new, bought from Samsung account in Amazon. Last application installed a month before the problem started. Thank for your help

Solution: Before troubleshooting the phone you need to make sure that it is turned on. To do this try charging the phone then turn it on. You should also try replacing the battery to check if it is causing the problem.

One the phone turns on proceed with the troubleshooting steps below.

Just like the issues that we have addressed above you should try to check if the phone software is causing this issue.

First, check if an app installed in your phone is causing this problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. When your phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run making it easier for you to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Try to check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

You should also check if a corrupt cached data is causing this problem. To do this start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition from here.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should do a factory reset. This will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy.

If the issue persists then bring your phone to a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Restarts On Its Own

Problem: When my phone reaches 20% my galaxy note 4 completely turns off and when i put it on the charger it says its at 0% and this problem happened ever since i got the phone. i just recently updated the phone and now it restarts itself when its at 40-43%. i’m not sure what to do at all and i tried downloading apps to clean my battery and everything but it doesn’t do anything. please help me.

Solution: Try starting your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If your phone has a microSD card installed try removing it as well since a corrupt card can also cause this issue.

To check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to replace your phone battery as this might be causing the problem.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Bought a used note 4. Worked ok at first with latest so upgrade AT&T. But would stop working at 80% battery. Would take out battery and then it would charge back up and next time it failed at 84%. And so on up to above 90%. So tried factory reset. Failed to fix it. Now at 100% it will not come on. Ordered a new battery to see if that will work. ls the phone just be bad? Have only had it for 2 weeks.

Solution: It looks like this issue is caused by some component inside the phone that has failed to work.

Since you have already performed a factory reset and even replaced the battery I suggest you bring this to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that some component inside the device has been damaged.

Note 4 Freezes Not Turning On

Problem: Hello, my phone started acting up about 2 weeks ago. it would freeze, and start working again.  Than it started to freeze and have a black screen. finally it would freeze, black screen, and turn off and on by itself. finally last night I put it to charge for about 1.5hours b4 I had to go to work at midnight and it would not even turn on anymore. I have a note 4. is there anything I can do to save this phone? I have tried the 123 and the smack phone about 30 times and nothing has helped…

Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to make sure that the phone is getting power from the battery so that it will turn on. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below then move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris that could be in the port. To clean the port use a can of compressed air or blow into it using a straw. Charge your phone for 20 minutes then turn it on.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger.
  • Replace the battery with a new one
  • Check if the phone turns on in recovery mode. If it does then you need to perform a factory reset from here. Take note that thi will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Black Screen Not Responding

Problem: Hello. My samsung note 4 is in a black screen and not responding to anything. I removed the battery and pressed the power button about 3 minutes then inserted it but couldn’t turn on. I also tried to reboot by pressing the 3 buttons it but it couldn’t get to any mode. It’s totally a black screen. Maybe an application i tried to download 2 days ago was a virus. So what may be the problem and what’s the solution please.

Solution: Try connecting your phone to its charger for 20 minutes then turn it on. If it still does not turn on then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Take out the battery and microSD card (if your phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone will turn on.
  • Connect the phone to its wall charger for 20 minutes then turn it on.
  • Check if you can turn on your phone in recovery mode. If you can then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
  • Replace the battery with a new one.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is a 2014 device that was then considered as a high end smartphone. Depending on the market the phone is released in, it will either be using a Snapdragon 805 or an Exynos 5433 processor which is powerful enough to handle various tasks. Combined with its 3GB of RAM the device will run any app smoothly. Although this phone has proven itself as a reliable daily driver there are instances when certain issues can occur. Note 4 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: I bought this new phone note 4 910A 3 months ago from Walmart. Since the first week the battery issue started to act up. The phone dies randomly between 50% to 30% and keeps restarting till all sudden it’s dead supposedly showing 0%. I put it on charger and it shows nothing and it turns on. So when I charge the phone sometimes it won’t reach past 50% or sometimes 80% I thought it was the cable from Samsung so I used my LG cable and same results. After removing the battery when the phone shows it’s only at 60% charged only, I reinstall the battery and it will show it’s pretty much at 98%. The kicker is the battery doesn’t last also more than 3 hours when I look at the battery status it shows it will not last that long. If the phone is fully charged and I don’t use it and I come back to it say in 8 hours it’s pretty much dead. I keep hearing also there’s an update for the firmware since its 5.0.1 from AT&T but I can’t find it, I saw it will help with the battery issue. So could it be software or battery.

Solution: Even if a new software version is available the current software version that your phone is running on should not cause this kind of issue. What you should do first is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. You should check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then try getting a new battery as the current battery that your phone is using could be causing this problem.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the above steps and if the phone is still under warranty then I recommend that you bring it back to Walmart.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Hello so I have a note 4 that started draining fast and dying when it says there is %10 to %35 battery left. As well as shows it only charges to around %91 most of the time. And so I did the cash part delete which didn’t work also did factory reset didn’t work, as well as got a new factory battery and charging station for the battery and cord, then did another factory reset and still doing the same thing. What a piss off Samsung has become. I have had this phone for no longer than a year and a month, and always in life proof case and never in water or banged around and this is how it ends up being. I also tried cleaning the ports a number of times for the charging port and draining the charge in the phone itself fully while battery was out and nothing has done a thing. I also tried doing slow charge as well. I’m sure I’m forgetting other things I’ve tried as well. I’ve tried many apps to fix this as well I should have known that wouldn’t work but tried anyways. Please help thanks

Solution: If doing  a factory reset and replacing the battery of the phone doesn’t fix the issue then this might be caused by a component inside the phone that is failing and causing a shorted circuit somewhere. I’d recommend that you bring the phone to a service center that is capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Fast Charging After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Hi, I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Last week my phone finally got the Marshmallow update and installed with no problems. However, since then I have noticed that my phone is no longer fast charging. Even though the fast charging option is enabled and shows that it is fast charging, it now takes hours for a complete charge. I am using the original charger that came with the phone, so I have a feeling it is from the update. Is there anything I can do to fix this or will I have to wait for another update? Thank you for your time!

Solution: If the issue is caused by the update then a factory reset is likely going to fix this. You should however do this as a last resort and consider performing the other troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone. Sometimes dirt or debris stuck in this port can cause this kind of issue. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw to clean it.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone. This cord gets easily damaged and the one you are using might already be damaged.
  • Try using a different adaptive fast charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then I suggest you backup your phone data then proceed with a factory reset to check if the problem is caused by the update. This reset will remove any old software data that could still be in your phone which is usually the cause of issues that occur after an update.

Note 4 Shuts Down For No Reason

Problem: I have a Galaxy Note 4 that keeps shutting down for no reason.  When I try to turn it back on the power button does not work.  I have to remove the battery, then put it back in to even get the phone to turn back on.  What could this be?  Also it doesn’t happen when I’m doing anything in particular.  Its random.

Related Problem: I have a note 4 and it turns off by itself, it has nothing to do with the battery life nether with the ram, and it won’t turn back on until I remove the battery and put it again.can you please tell me what’s the problem

Solution: You should try to check first if a glitch in the phone software is causing his problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

Another thing that you should do is to verify if the battery is causing this problem by replacing it.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then it might be caused by a component inside your phone that’s failing. If this is the case then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I have been using this phone for about one and a half year now. Previously my phone keep restarting and I brought it to a technician.  It was working well until after the software update, my phone would not turn on at all. I have tried all of the methods of switching it on on this website but nothing seems to work. Do I have to send it to the technician again?  Ps, I have no idea what version is my phone right now. I’m so sorry!

Solution: There are several things that you can do before bringing the phone to a technician. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps for this issue.

  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. If you don’t see the charging indicator on your phone then try cleaning its charging port using a can of compressed air. You should also try using a different charging cord and charger.
  • Try using a different battery.
  • Try turning on your phone while it is connected to its charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Stuck In T-Mobile Screen

Problem: When i try to turn on my phone, it will go to the Samsung Note 4 screen, then to the samsung startup screen, but after that it goes to the T Mobile carrier screen and just stays on that screen. It never turns on, but when i charge it the battery comes up and shows that its charging. This just happened randomly one day and i do not know how to fix it. I have tried taking the battery out overnight and then trying, and i tried to reboot the device but i’m not sure if i did it right or if it just didn’t work. Thank you!

Solution: This issue where the phone gets stuck on the startup screen can usually be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step in the list if the problem still occurs.

  • Take out the phone battery and microSD ( if your phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. Check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by the microSD card or a software glitch.
  • Try turning on your phone while it is connected to its charger. If the issue doesn’t occur then this could be caused by a faulty battery. Get a new battery and see if the problem still occurs.
  • Start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.

Note 4 Stuck In Recovery Booting After Software Update

Problem: Hello.  So recently my phone had a software update, so I decided to update it. Once it downloaded, I pressed Continue to let it install. My phone went into “Recovery Booting” and once it reached 100%, it just turned off. I tried to turn it back on by pressing and holding the power button, but it did not turn on. So, I took out the battery, waited 10 seconds, put back in the battery, and tried again. This time my phone went into “Recovery Booting” again and started updating. Once it reached 100%, it shut down again and the same thing keeps repeating.  Please Help.

Solution: It looks like something went wrong during the update process. Try connecting your phone to a computer with Kies installed and let the software update your phone. If this doesn;t work then disconnect your phone from the computer then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider manually flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Shuts Off With Charge Left

Problem: Phone has been dying whenever i use apps around 70% and has been dying at a higher percentage lately around 80. I’ve been reading online that i should “calibrate” the battery by draining the battery to 0 and charge it with the phone off until it reaches 100. Phone took several hours to charge and as soon as i start it up, it shuts off and stays in a reboot loop.

Solution: This kind of issue is usually caused by a glitch in the phone software or a faulty battery. Perform the following steps listed below to fix this issue.

  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Replace your phone battery with a new one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Does Not Turn On Unless Plugged Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 has been in the market for nearly two years already. When most devices reach this age they are usually taken out of circulation, not this model though. Combining an impressive hardware with constant software updates, this phone has become the daily driver for most people. While this model is quite dependable there are instances when issues can occur. In today’s installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 does not turn on unless plugged issue & other related problems. We have gathered several issues of this nature from our readers and have addressed them below.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On Unless Plugged

Problem: 1st off I don’t know what version it is . Usually always am good at keeping up with the updates. If that helps. Unfortunately, I can’t go check because my phone’s broken, hence for my contact. So my boyfriend seems to think because “I play games on it” & “use it when it is charging”, is the reason it started to mess up. But once it stopped turning on at all the other day, I noticed the red water damage indicator on the battery. But I haven’t gotten it wet so it must be from steam and what not. But anyway, basically, my phone wouldn’t turn in at all, unless it was plugged in, and even then it wasn’t a guaranteed way to get it turned on. And it would only work on the “fast charging adapter” of mine (I have two of them and it would only work on one of them for some reason),  I tried to do a factory reset on it and totally thought that would do the trick but it did not….. So it must need a new battery right??

Solution: There’s a possibility that the battery is causing this problem since the liquid damage indicator sticker has turned red. Try getting a new battery then see if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you should have the phone checked at a service center for a possible liquid damage.

Regarding your use of the phone when charging the only thing this affects is the charging time which is increased.

Note 4 Battery Drains Rapidly

Problem: I just got a refurbished Note 4 online. And it works great when its on the charger. But when I disconnect it, the battery will drain from %100 to %0 rapidly. It will begin to reboot during several apps, so i don’t think it’s a specific one that is causing the issue. Is there a display mode that has to be deactivated first? Or could it possibly be a safety setting because my sim card has not come in the mail just yet. I haven’t tried to factory reset it yet or even anything in safe mode. I’m not the most tech savvy when it comes to software.

Solution: I suggest you try doing a factory reset first to eliminate any possible software glitches that could be causing this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this. If after the reset the issue still occurs then I suggest you get a new battery since this could be what’s causing the problem.

Note 4 Reboots When Battery Level Drops

Problem: Once cell phone reaches down in the ranges of 40%-50%, starts to reboot. Will continue to until plug on charger or take out battery. Once on the charger it will charge at normal rate but the plug of charger gets really hot. Sometimes onces it gets to 80% it slows down or stops charging and plug cools down. Just bought a new battery and testing it out. Charging new battery and plug is very hot, don’t know if that’s normal.

Solution: The device should not get very hot when you are charging it. The heat in this case could be caused by a shorted circuit possibly due to a faulty charging port. I suggest you have this checked at a service center immediately. Take note that you should not charge the phone unless it is checked by a technician since it might cause a fire.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Mobile is not turning on. By connecting to the charger if I turn on, only charging icon and Android icon flashes up and switching off again. Without connecting to charger, it is not even turning on. I tried changing the battery but it didn’t help.

Solution: Have you tried checking if your phone can start in recovery mode? If it can then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

If you are unable to access the recovery mode then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this might already be a hardware related issue.

Note 4 Could Not Do Normal Boot Error

Problem: Hi. My issue is really weird… It started 2 weeks ago. The phone started to run REALLY slow… And now when I leave it 10 minutes without using it, I’m not able to unlock it… I mean, the screen keeps black when I press the unlock button but I know it’s not turned off because the led light which shows if you have any notifications keeps flashing… The only thing I can do is to remove the battery to turn it off and wait for 30 minutes to put it on again. (Even after doing this, sometimes it doesn’t work and a screen saying ‘Could not do normal boot’ appears’). I have tried another battery, I have restored the OS 3 times but nothing seems to work. I think that maybe the RAM could be damaged, what do you think? Thank you!

Solution: By restoring the OS I assume that you have flashed the phone software and not just a factory reset. If flashing the phone doesn’t fix this issue then it’s possible that this is already a hardware related problem possibly due to a bad RAM or ROM. You should try to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Life Poor After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Ever since I upgraded to 6.0.1, battery life is very poor. It will display 25%, and that will quickly be 15%. Then only moments after displaying 15%, the phone guys. It’s fine after recharged fully. It does not go near as long as it did and you lose that 25% as well. It’s only started happening after my update to 6.0.1.

Solution: If you noticed this issue occurring only after getting  the Marshmallow update then this is most likely caused by some old software data that has been left behind in your phone. This data which normally gets removed during the update is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this issue.

Note 4 Does Not Completely Charge

Problem: When i charge battery it arrives at 50% in 30 minutes but after 2 hours it is still at 90% and even if i leave connected the charger all night long the charging process stop at 91%. I have sent the phone to samsung for three times but the problems is still there. when the phone came back from assistance the first charge is okay but from the second the problem came back stopping the charging at 91%

Solution: For this particular issue you will need to check first if the phone software is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before doing the reset since it will be erased by the reset process.

Once the reset has completed check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then I suggest you get a new battery as this looks to be a battery related issue.

Note 4 Turns Off Does Not Start

Problem: Two days ago I did a factory reset on my phone because whenever it got to 80% my phone would turn off and not reboot.  The first day of having the factory reset I got about 6 hours before having to charge again which was better than turning off at 80%.  Well recently the phone turned off at 60% and would not reboot, when putting it on a charger it said it was at 70%.

Solution: Try taking out the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then check if the phone turns on. If if turns on then check if the issue still occurs. If you still face the same issue then try replacing the battery.

Should the above steps fail I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center as this might already be a hardware related issue.

Note 4 Powers Off Then Restarts

Problem: Hi, i’m in possession of a Samsung Note 4 for a little over a year. For the past three weeks i noticed that while using it, it froze, powers off and restarts by itself. This happens sometimes three or more times for the day. There are days when it doesn’t happens at all leaving me to think that it has corrected itself, then out of the blues it just happens. Yesterday i noticed for the first time that it was just powering off and restarting itself for almost a minute until it stops. Must i had, i have factory reset the phone once but the problem still continues.

Solution: When you performed the factory reset previously did the problem occur immediately again or did it take some time before it occurred again? If it took some time before the issue occurred again then it might be caused by an app installed in your phone. To check if this is the case try starting the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the phone freezes and restarts in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the phone still freezes and restarts even in Safe Mode then there might be other factors involved that’s causing this.

  • If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it. Check if the issue still occurs after taking out the card.
  • Try connecting the phone to its charger. If the issue does not occur while connected then you should try using a new battery on your phone.

If the issue still occurs after following the steps listed above then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Crashing Resetting After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Phone updated to marshmallow from lollipop since then intermittently crashing and resetting. So i factory wiped and cleared cache but issue still the same. So used odin to reinstall lollipop. This worked for day or 2 but the same intermittent crashing occurred. And would constantly boot loop and sometimes automatically go into download mode. Now phone does not even turn on in normal or download or recovery mode. Seems bricked and i have three different batteries and a battery charging kit so i know i have a fully charged and working battery plugged in so that is not the issue here. Would be really grateful for any help please. Thanks

Solution: It’s either the phone is not getting power from the battery which is causing it not to turn on or a software glitch is preventing the phone from turning on. In this case though it appears to be hardware bricked. If the phone is not detected by your computer and you can’t use Odin to flash it again then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Turning On After Software Update

Problem: This phone was recently updated 0200, 19 Jul 2016. This morning it would not power on or turn on. I tried everything that the T Mobile wanted me to do. They wanted me to send this phone back with a fee( no warranty or ins). Anyway I checked out your website, it gave me pointer and tricks but basically the same as T-mobile was telling me to do. I don’t know now if I want to get it fix or just buy another phone like IPhone. I like Samsung but as I see from other Samsung phone have the same problem “Phone will not turn on”, so I’m reluctant of purchasing another Samsung. I need your help I still like this phone.

Solution: Have you tried checking if the phone is getting power from the battery? Try taking out the battery and microSD card ( if the phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will completely discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone turns on. If it doesn’t then you will need to charge the phone. Before charging make sure to clean the charging port first using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in the port. You should also use a different charging cord when charging the phone. After charging the device for at least 20 minutes try to turn it on.

If the issue still persist then try getting a new battery. Should the issue persist bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Dies Even With Charge

Problem: Battery dies between 35-40% every time. When I go to charge it, the battery says I’m at whatever percent it died at. When I try to turn my phone on again, it cycles with the opening screen. I am unsure how to do anything regarding my phone. I tried navigating through the website, but I am unsure of what a soft reset is along with other ways of fixing it. Your help would greatly be appreciated. Also, there has not been any significant damage to the phone. Only dropped a few times. No water damage. No cracks in screen or anything along those lines.

Solution: You should try checking first if the phone software is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

To perform the factory reset follow the steps listed below.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • As soon as the phone vibrates, release the Power key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release all keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device

After the reset do not install anything in the phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try getting a new battery.

Note 4 Battery Power Decreasing Even When Charging

Problem: I have tried several chargers and a few different ports and looked in the usb port for lint and junk and I’ve done the hard reset, soft reset, and turned my phone off for a few minutes and back on. My problem is the battery power. Right now it is at 29% and decreasing even while charging (not with the original charger). I don’t know what the hell to do. Please help..

Solution: The battery might not be getting power from the charger which is why it is getting drained. To fix this problem follow the troubleshooting steps listed below which is recommended for this issue. Check if the issue still occurs after performing each step then move to the next step should the problem still occur.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Make sure that no dirt or debris is present in the port.
  • Try using a different charging cord
  • Try using a different wall charger
  • Replace the phone battery.

If the issue persists then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Constantly Rebooting

Problem: I woke up to phone constantly rebooting whilst on charge. i took it off the charger and it just continued to keep rebooting. i tried to go through the menu quickly before it shutdown again and factory reset it. Didnt work, i tried soft resets, didn’t work so i came on to the forum here and found out to master reboot. now as the it tries to reboot and it says optimizing apps it’s even constantly rebooting and not letting it finish complete the master reboot. so now i can’t even get to a menu. What do i do to fix this?

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it has then try removing it since this might be causing the problem. You should also try connecting the phone to its charger then check if the master reboot completes.

If the issue still occurs then remove the battery and microSD card ( if the phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the issue gets resolved.

Note 4 Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: Phone keeps rebooting. I reset it twice. First it freezes then restarts. When i’m on the phone it disconnects the call and restart. then after it restart sometimes it doesn’t come back on. I get the green android guy that say don’t stop download and a boot error i have to take the battery out a few times to get to come on.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs. You should also check if the battery is causing this problem by replacing it with a new one. If the issue still persist and since you already did a factory reset I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware issue.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I press the power button on and nothing comes on I try charging it and it also doesn’t come on it’s been like this for about two months now and I tried everything to make it come on but it’s impossible and doesn’t come on . I really need help

Solution: Try using a new battery on your phone as the battery that your phone is using could already be faulty. If the problem still persists then I suggest you have the phone checked at a service center.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Turns Off By Itself Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is one of the bigger phone models out in the market with an excellent battery life. This is due in part by its use of a 3220mAh battery which can provide around 28 hours of talk time or 11 hours of web browsing time on a single charge. What this basically mans is that you will be able to use the phone for a longer period of time before it needs to be charged again. There are however instances when power related issues can occur on this phone. This is what we will tackle today as we address the Galaxy Note 4 turns off by itself & other related problems.

Note 4 Turns Off By Itself

Problem: Hello, about two months ago, I updated my note 4. After the update my phone started glitching. It would turn off by itself, freeze the screen for 5 minutes, then restart itself again. Sometimes I would restart 10 times in a hour. One day I came across a forum the suggested a factory reset. I did the factory reset and everything went back to normal. But problem came back again last week, and now my phone won’t turn on. I have tried everything on your troubleshooting steps, and still nothing. I have a upgrade in October, and this is the only phone I have until then. Please help!

Solution: One possible reason why this issue is happening is because of an app you installed in your phone. This is very lilley since you mentioned that when you previously did a factory reset the issue disappeared. However, right now you are unable to turn on your phone. This could be caused by several factors such as the battery not providing power to the phone, a software issue, or even a hardware issue.

Try replacing the phone battery first with a new one then check if your phone starts. If it doesn’t turn on then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes. Before charging the phone make sure to do the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in this port.
  • Use a different charging cord when charging the phone ( you should also try to use a different wall charger).

Check if you are able to turn on your phone. You should also check if the phone turns on in recovery mode. If the phone turns on in this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fails to resolve the issue then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Off Won’t Turn Back On

Problem: My Note 4 started shutting off all of a sudden and it won’t turn back on, it’ll just keep turning on where it says “Samsung Galaxy note 4” and then the screen will go black. It will turn off a couple seconds after I disconnect the charger, this has been happening for 2 days now and it was only in the afternoon when I was taking a phone call that it did not shut down on me but a minute after that it turned back off. I tried taking out the battery and waiting to put it back in and turning it on again but it keeps happening. It just stays on when it’s connected to the charger. I’ve had this phone for about 3/4ish months now and the only times it happened was 2 times after I got the phone but it was fine after I took the battery out. Hope you guys can help! Thanks!

Solution: If the phone will not turn off if the charger is connected then the first thing you should suspect is that the battery might already be faulty. I suggest you try to get a new battery first then see if the issue still occurs.

If it does then the next step is to check if the phone software is causing this by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Draining

Problem: For the last month, my phone has had the battery draining issues as described by others, going from 100% to about 40 normally then shutting off at about 40. After the latest update, installed about 5 days ago, I noticed delays in pulling up just about everything.  Also delays in typing and loading. Now the phone has completely shut off and there are no “lights on” anywhere.  I checked the battery and it is fully charged.

Solution: For this type of issue you need to check if the battery is causing the problem by connecting the phone to its charger then see if it turns on. If it turns on then you should try using a new battery on your phone.

If the issue still occurs even when the phone is connected to the charger then try removing the battery and microSD card ( if one is installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out the RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone.

If the above steps fail then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Turns Off After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Hi, My phone suddenly goes off even though the battery still has around 30% of charge. It started happening after I got Marshmallow update. Today I went off and it automatically tried to restart, but it never came back. It was going on and off over and over. So, I removed battery kept aside for few minutes and then tried, but no luck. I charged phone and it works fine. Thanks in advance.

Solution: If this issue occured right after the Marshmallow update then it could be caused by some old software data that got left behind. This data is causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. I suggest you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. This will delete the old software data in your phone. Once the reset is done check if the problem still occurs.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: the note 4 works flawlessly when on. the problem is turning it on. it doesn’t want to turn on at all. i bought a new battery for it. my third to be exact. but the phone won’t boot up. it is completely stock. if it’s plugged all night it will stay on all night because of the setting. as soon as i turn it off to restart it ..again it wont start. as if there’s no power. it wont even charge. i can’t get it to go on download mode, safe mode, or even recovery. once in awhile when it does start my kies will recognize it. but it is very seldom. i tried factory resetting it. it wipes clean but then it wont start. as soon as i pull the battery i’m looking at another day without a phone. can you help? i even called tmobile and all they gave me was smart switch app link.

Solution: Since you already tried different batteries in your phone and even performed a factory reset which didn’t fix the problem then I suspect that this is caused by an internal component in your phone that is failing. I suggest you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: for about 8 months now, my battery drains quickly.  I have replaced the chargers with original Samsung chargers, purchased a new battery and sd card.  I also deleted many pictures and apps this did not help.  The battery charges very slowly on a rapid charge and hardly at all on car charger.  I love this phone and am very distraught over this as i AM STILL UNDER CONTRACT with Verizon.  I have done everything except a factory reset. Your help is appreciated as I just don’t think I should have to pay any money out of pocket to resolve an issue that is a Samsung problem.  Many customers report this.  I really love my note Samsung.

Solution: One thing you haven’t checked yet is the possibility that an app might be causing the battery drain problem. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone first from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary data in the phone which could be causing this problem. Proceed with starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the battery drains quickly while the phone is working in this mode. If you don’t experience the issue then it might be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Regarding the slow charging issue you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Try also to use a different charging cord as this might be causing the issue.

Note 4 Slow Charging

Problem: For the past couple of days I’ve had the slow charging issue. The device shows it is plugged into a USB instead of AC or wall charger. This happens with any and all USB cords I’ve tried. I know that when the phone thinks it’s plugged into a USB it will only draw .5 amps due to most computers only being able to put that much out on each port. This also stops the fast charge from happening as well.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone. Do this by using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. If the issue still occurs then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in the phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Powering Off At Random Percentages Issue & Other Related Problems

One of the many reasons a lot of people love to use the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is that it has a large 3200mAh battery capacity. This is a good design move by Samsung since the 5.7 inch display of the phone consumes a considerable amount of power. Several tests conducted on the device shows a fully charged battery can provide up to 28 hours of talk time or 11 hours of web browsing time. There are however instances when the phone can’t be used this long. This is what we will tackle today as we address the Galaxy Note 4 powering off at random percentages issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Powering Off At Random Percentages

Problem: My phone keeps on powering off at random percentages (highest being at around 70%) regardless if battery was fully charged. For the majority of the time, it would power off and then boot back on. If I plugged the charger in before the phone completely bottled back on, the battery percentage would remain around the same percentage before it died. If I don’t plug in the charger, it would either go back to the same battery percentage and then a couple seconds later drop to 0% or won’t even boot back on. Lately it has been getting worse. My phone would lag and freeze, screen would turn off and wouldn’t turn back on even if I press on the power button(phone is not dead). I still have the same problems even though I switched my batteries with a family member who never had any battery problems before. Our Note 4 are almost 2 years old.

Solution: Since you already eliminated the possibility of the battery causing this issue the next step is to check if the phone software is the culprit. You need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything in your phone yet. Instead, check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware problem.

Note 4 Difficult To Turn On

Problem: My phone has been having issues (off/on) for awhile.  It has been having issues that have caused Soft Resets if it powers off and often requires a soft reset to be turned on.  At time, it ends up on the Droid Screen when it boots, other times it turns on without issue. Last week, I the phone died (due to battery drain).  I was able to plug it in and it showed charging without being turned on.  I unplugged it and attempted to turn it on, without success.  I tried the typical soft reboot – with no success.  I have tried all other methods, no success.  We took the phone to a store and they tested the battery – they said it showed 81% but with a load the AMPS dropped significantly.  We’ve just put a new battery in and aren’t seeing it show a charge or accept a soft reboot or any of the other options.  As  there are some key things on the phone, I would really like to get it booted (at least once) to get the rest of the info off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: The only way you will be able to retrieve data on the phone is if it is turned on. Have you tried connecting the phone to its charger then turning it on while it is connected? If this doesn’t work then try to start your phone in Safe Mode while connected to the charger. If the phone turns on then you should be able to retrieve the data stored in the phone. If the phone does not turn on in Safe Mode then try to start your phone in recovery mode. From here try to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This will delete the temporary data store in the phone.

If the above steps fail then you should have your phone checked at a service center. The phone might have an internal component that it failing to work properly.

Note 4 Freezes Then Shuts Off When Disconnected From Charger

Problem: Ever since the last update a couple of weeks ago my phone has been acting up when I have it on the charger it’s showing a 100% charge and it’s working normally but when I take it off the charger like two minutes later the phone will freeze up and shut off and then it takes forever to even attempt to try and power on even popping the battery out. I have done a hard reset on the phone still nothing I have done a soft reset on the phone still nothing and when it turns on a lot of the time it just goes straight to the big Android and then it says updating something do not turn off but it never updates anything it stays like that for hours and then if I take the battery out I might get lucky and then able to turn the phone on but if I don’t plug it into the charger after the phone is on it will start messing up again.

Solution: It looks like the battery might be causing this problem. Try getting a new battery then check if the issue still occurs. You should also try removing the microsD card ( if the phone has one installed) as this might also be causing the issue.

If the problem persists then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center since this might be caused by a component inside the phone that is failing.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I dropped my phone is water but took battery out and let the whole device dry for a day.  About a month later my phone battery was low so I put it on the charger like normal.  I noticed that the battery was getting lower so I left the phone alone for awhile.  When I came back to check it again my phone had died but showed the battery charging symbol like it always does when it’s dead but charging.  I checked my phone after that and the symbol was gone the phone was completely dead.  I’ve tried different chargers and taking out the battery nothing works the phone shows no signs of life.

Solution: The thing about water damage is that the effects may not appear immediately. Sometimes it takes days, weeks, or even months for the problem to show itself. In this case where the phone is not turning on there’s a chance that it might be caused by the water damage or it might not be related at all. Below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to do in cases like this. Perform each step below then move to the next step if the problem still occurs.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone by using a can of compressed air or blow into it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris in this port that could prevent the phone from charging. Try charging your phone for 20 minutes then see if it turns on
  • Try using a different charging cord and charger when charging your phone.
  • Try using a new battery on your phone.
  • Check if you are able to turn on the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then the problem could be caused by the phone software. I recommend that you do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might be a water damage related issue. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 Does Not Charge

Problem: My phone is a mess yesterday. It just suddenly could not charge. Or else the charging icon went on but the battery percentage keeps on decreasing. I tried changing chargers, tried soft reset and even tried factory reset, I also adjusted my usb cable port. And now it can at least charge but it can’t speed charge anymore. Please help me

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by the charging port in this case. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Make sure that you take out any dirt or debris present in the port that could be causing this problem. When charging the phone try to use a different charging cord.

If the issue still occurs then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Randomly turns Off After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Hi, my phone suddenly goes off even though the battery still has around 30% of charge. It started happening after I got Marshmallow update. Today I went off and it automatically tried to restart, but it never came back. It was going on and off over and over. So, I removed battery kept aside for few minutes and then tried, but no luck. I charged phone and it works fine. Thanks in advance.

Solution: This issue might be caused by a glitch in the phone data. Usually, if issues occur right after a software update it is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. This data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in this problem. To fix this I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast After Marshmallow Update

Problem: My Note 4 recently updated to Marshmallow and ever since my battery is draining about twice as fast as before.  I’m not using it any differently than before the update.  Where I only had to charge my phone every 3 days or so I now have to charge it daily or maybe every other day.

Solution: Since your phone is already running on Marshmallow you might have some apps installed that are not optimized to work on this system yet which is causing the battery drain. Open your Google Play Store app then head out over to the My Apps section. If you see any app that needs to be updated then update it.

If the problem persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is a highly recommended procedure whenever issues arise after a software update.

Note 4 Battery Dying

Problem: My phone keeps dying at 60% or higher everyday. The power level on it varies from day to day but still dies unexpectedly.   I tried taking the battery out for about ten seconds and it did nothing. I close out my apps regularly and it is still acting up.  Have no idea what is going on. Need help

Solution: There are two most likely reasons why this is happening. It could be caused by a weak battery or by a glitch in the phone software. Try replacing the phone battery with a new one then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Restarts On Its Own Issue & Other Related Problems

Most owners of the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note 4 are quite pleased with the device and have not upgraded their phone yet. Released last 2014, this phone can still give newly released high end phones a run for their money. Aside from using powerful hardware components this device has also gotten the Marshmallow update making it relevant to use today. There are however instances when certain issues can occur on this device. This is what we will tackle today as we address the Galaxy Note 4 restarts on its own issue & other related problems. We have gathered several issues of this nature sent to us by our readers and have addressed them below.

Note 4 Restarts On Its Own

Problem: As of today, my note 4 turns off everytime I open any app.. snapchat, facebook, call logs, messages etc. It is at full battery and stills turns off. Then turns on, not fully, and turns off again and continues to do this until it is plugged in. Once it turns back on it is still at 100% battery so the battery has not drained. At&t stores do not carry the note 4 or any products for it anymore. At least where I have gone which was 2 or 3 different stores. I cannot not always have my phone plugged in. Please help! Never had this issue before. Tried the soft reset and any other steps I have seen.

Solution: There are two things that you need to do in this kind of issue. You will need to check if the phone software is causing this problem. Next, you need to check if the battery is causing the problem. I suggest you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next thing you should do is to replace the phone battery. If the battery is not supplying the correct power to the phone then this could be causing the problem.

If the above steps fail then you should have the phone checked at a service center as the problem could be caused by a component inside the phone that’s failing.

Note 4 Restarting

Problem: Every night I plug the phone into the charger, that it came with,  before bed time and use the Ambiance app to sleep to. The first night after Marshmallow, the app stopped working and my alarm didn’t go off. Turns out the phone was had restarted. I looked into the doze function and turned it off on the clock and Ambiance app. The alarm thankfully worked but not the app. The phone restarted again last night and it won’t allow use of the fingerprint unlock until after I enter my password. It’s not set up to power cycle as far as I know. The battery seems to drain much faster too. Any ideas? I really do not want to factory reset, but if I have to…

Solution: While a factory reset will most likely fix this issue there are other steps that you should consider before doing this procedure. Listed below are the steps that you can do, move to the next step should the current step fail to fix the problem.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. While the phone is working in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then an app could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Solution: You have already performed all of the possible troubleshooting steps that can be done by a user. Since the problem still occurs then this could be a hardware related issue. I suggest you have this phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: 12 JUN – installed game “”Criminal Case”” – all fine  (may not be related) 13 JUN – suddenly went into battery power off/on loop, took battery out.  Rebooted but went back into loop before fully loading.  No effort helped.  I let battery drain and recharged when I got home. 14 JUN – all fine, deleted game, just in case.  phone worked for 4-5 hrs, when down to 13%, plugged in, light came on.   Came back later and would not start or charge (no light).  Ordered new battery from Samsung. WAIT for battery  24 JUN battery came, but I had surgery (and mother died – rough week) so had to wait to fiddle with it. 30 JUN replaced battery, but still, no charge, no light, no boot. 1 JUL followed steps listed on your site for soft reset, etc…. to no avail. I do not even know what to do with a phone that breaks as it has never happened to me in 20 years.  If you don’t have miracle answer, can you advise?  Take back to Sprint?  (no warranty, but still on payment plan/contract).

Solution: We are sorry to hear about your mom. Regarding the phone you should try taking out the battery and microSD card. Once both are removed press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try to turn on the phone. If it does not turn on then connect the phone to its wall charger then let it charge for 20 minutes. It’s best if you clean the charging port of your phone with a can of compressed air before charging it. You should also try using a different charging cord. F the phone still does not turn on then I suggest you bring this to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off When Battery At 30%

Problem: my phone have a serious issue I have Samsung galaxy note 4 I have recently updated the phone to 6.0.1 I have a battery issue its get automatically get off when the battery level goes at 30% to 40% then I have to connect with the charger to start the phone . and when I start the phone the battery remains the same . after that when I unpulled the charger after few minutes the same thing happen I just stuck in this problem

Solution: The first thing you need to check is if the update is causing this issue. To do this just backup your phone data and do a factory reset. The reset will delete any old software data that may not have been removed during the update and is now causing the problem. If the reset doesn’t work then try replacing the phone battery with a new one as this could be causing the problem.

If the above steps fail I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Shuts Down Does Not Start Unless Connected To Charger

Problem: My phone shuts off by itself and will not reboot even though I have 90% battery..it only reboots while it is on the charger. When trying to restart in safe mode it comes on, with the usual Samsung galaxy note 4 message, but turns right back off after the T-Mobile jingle and then that process repeats until you take the battery out.. (but safe mode does work when also connected to the charger.). I looked at the battery and it still has that white spot and no red, so as far as I know it hasn’t been damaged in any way.. Can you help me understand what might be wrong? And what I should do. I also heard that an app (snapchat) has been causing problems with others phone so I uninstalled that and force stopped the Google play store since that has been using up a lot of data… I did this in safe mode and once I turned off safe mode and let the phone reboot (all while still on the charger) it started the same shutting off and take restarting as soon as I take it off the charger..  Any opinion on what is wrong?

Solution: One possible reason why this issue is happening is due to a software glitch. You need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset to eliminate this possibility. After the reset do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

Another possible reason why this is happening is due to a faulty battery. To check if this is what’s causing the problem try using a new battery on your phone.

If the above steps fail then this could already be a hardware related issue. If this is the case then have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Charge

Problem: Here is one you haven’t heard of yet! My Note 4 does not charge. My fiance also has a Note 4. I tried soft reset, wipe cache, and factory reset, and still does not charge. However, if I plug it in while the phone is powered off, the phone will vibrate once every two seconds. But it doesn’t charge. Here is the kicker, if I plug it in via USB in my car, it recognizes it. But not if I plug it into my laptop. Right now I have her phone to charge batteries, but I need to be able to charge my battery!  No new apps added, no phone drop, no settings changes, nothing out of the ordinary that I can blame this on. I really thought the factory reset was going to work, but no dice. Please help! Is there a setting I’m missing?

Solution: What you can further do in this case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. The aim is to take out any dirt or debris in the port which could be causing the problem. Next, try using a different charging cord as the cord you are using could be faulty.

If the issue still persists then the problem is most likely  hardware related. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
