Note 4 Restarts On Its Own
Problem: My galaxy note 4 is starting and switching off on its own continuously. I have tried to remove the battery overnight it can’t change. I tried to remove the sim and micro sd and start it but it’s all the same. Please help any tips to make it working again.
Related Problem: Thank you for taking the time to listen to my enquiry. I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that is about 1-1.5 years old. Recently, my phone keeps lagging and randomly shuts down and restarts even at 80% or 60% battery when i try to enter my pin or use the camera, or simply swipe the home screen. Sometimes the phone gets very hot. I have already factory resetted 2-3 times, and am unsure what other courses of action i should take. Thank you very much!
Solution: Whenever a phone restarts on its own the most likely cause is a glitch in the phone software. Listed below are some of the troubleshooting steps that are recommended for this kind of issue. Perform each of the step below then check if the issue still occurs. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue doesn’t occur then it’s possible that an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then try connecting the phone to a charger and check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the issue could be caused by a faulty battery. Try replacing this battery.
If the above steps don’t work then I suggest you have this phone checked at a service center since this might already be a hardware related problem.
Note 4 Does Not Fast Charge
Problem: Just swapped my Nexus 6 with my son’s Note 4. He did not tell me when it started but sometime after he got this phone it stopped fast charging. I have tried multiple cable and quick chargers to no avail. All options show it is being charged via usb, even though it is plugged into a wall. I have also tried multiple outlets. I have factory and master reset the cell with no luck. I know all the cables and chargers work as they all show quick charging on my Droid Turbo 2 and the Nexus 6. Using an amp app, I show that when charging it usually only gets about 300-400 mH. I’ve read multiple people having the same issue. I also tried plugging the cord to the cell, then to the wall. Then vice versa, but no luck. The usb port on the cell appears to be good with no visible damage.
Solution: The most likely cause of this issue is a defective charging port pin. This port has a separate pin for data transfer, slow charging ( via a USB port), and fast charging ( via the wall charger). It’s very likely that something is wrong with the pin for fast charging. This or there could be a problem with the power IC.
To troubleshoot this problem try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air as sometimes dirt or debris stuck in this port can cause charging problems. If cleaning the port doesn’t work then you should have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Turns Off When Using Apps
Problem: Note 4 like to turn off when I use apps like snapchat or anything that seems to use a lot of ram it started this when my phone would get to 30% now it’s doing it even when the phone I’s fully charged. The phone will work if I use it in ultra power saving mode. When it turns off it will go into a startup loop and just do that till I plug it into my charger. I got a new battery and put it in an it would not take a charge. I did a factory reset an a cache partition. Thank You For Your Help
Solution: If doing a factory reset and changing the phone battery doesn’t fix the issue then this could be caused by an internal component that’s failing. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center that can do board level repairs.
Note 4 Not Charging After Software Update
Problem: My Samsung Note 4 was forced to update by AT&T 2 days ago. It has suddenly started losing battery power AND does not recognize any of my chargers. I need my phone for my work tomorrow. desperately need your help. btw, Not sure about android version.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air first. Make sure to remove any dirt that could be present in this port. Once the port is clean remove the battery and microSD card. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone will charge. If it doesn’t charge then proceed with the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.
- Try using a new battery.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Screen Flickered Then Turned Off
Problem: My note 4 screen flickered then the phone turned off want cut back on I’m on 6.0 marshmallow I tried the resets vol up power home key and nothing, I took battery out presses power key for one min put battery in and nothing phone battery was at like 40% before it cut off.
Solution: Try connecting your phone to its wall charger for at least 20 minutes then see if it turns on. If it doesn’t then try replacing the battery with a new one. If this doesn’t fix the problem then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Doesn’t Respond Unless Battery Is Removed
Problem: My samsung galaxy note 4 sprint it stuck, freezing and go off every time, but i update from lollipop to marshmallow but now i experience one problem when i use my phone and leave it once i need to use again it doesn’t respond until i remove the battery and place it again please how do i fix this problem

Solution: There’s a possibility that the issue is caused by some form of corrupt data in your phone. The best way to deal with this is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the reset fails to fix this issue then it could be caused by an internal component that’s damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.
