Note 4 Shuts Down With Battery Power Left

Problem: Hello, I have been dealing with a major issue recently involving batteries of the samsung note 4. Since about 3 P.M. PT, my phone shut down at an estimate of 17%. This was common for me. I simply began to charge it again. As expected, it showed the charging sign briefly. however, it then cuts off instead of showing at what percent it was charging. since then (it is 11:22 P.M…. 8 hours later) it has been performing the cycle of “charging, fade to black”. powering it up in recovery mode succeeded once. i cleared the cache and reboot it. there was no difference, except for the fact that now, recovery  mode was not reachable, as it cut to black booting it up. a culprit of this might be that this was a couple of days after it notified me of a “t-mobile software update” however, i have moved networks from t-mobile to cricket nearly a year ago. i did not have much but three apps running at the time. I have also tried the soft reset method, and multiple methods of charge (five wall outlets, a laptop, a pc, a radio and a Playstation 4 with 3 different ac adapters (a samsung one, an apple one, and a third-party one) and three cables (a samsung, Wacom, and third-party). i believe it to be the battery or the charging port, as last time this happened, i cleaned out the charging port, and plugged it in to the highest amp outlet for the strongest charge (PS4)  Please help. sincerely, a concerned samsung phone owner.

Related Problem: My phone shuts off by itself takes many tries to get it to come back on. Did the soft reset still having issues with turning it back on. This is my only phone. Need it to work. Please help me.

Related Problem: battery keeps dying at around 49%. took the phone to Samsung and Samsung says the battery is good, not damaged and no faults. i close all the apps in the background after i use an app.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to check if the phone turns off while it is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t turn off then you will need to replace the battery with a new one as this might be causing the problem.

In case the issue still persists then you will have to check if a software glitch is causing the problem. To do this a factory reset must be performed. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the factory reset.

In case you are unable to perform a factory reset or if the issue still occurs right after the reset then this problem could be caused by a faulty power IC or other internal component that is failing to work. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Keeps Freezing After Software Update

Problem: After a recent OTA upgrade from three network the mobile phone keeps freezing or going blank. I tried factory reset but didn’t work. get a message

could not do normal boot

ddi:mmc read failed

PRODUCT NAME:SM-N910F

CURRENT BINARY:SAMSUNG OFFICIAL

SYSTEM STATUS:Custom

REACTIVATION LOCK:OFF

KNOX WARRANTY VOID:0x0

SECURE DOWNLOAD ENABLE

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have one then try removing this as this could be causing the problem.  If the issue persists then I recommend that you try flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get the firmware file as well as the instructions on how to flash your phone at the Sammobile website.

In case you still experience the same issue after flashing the phone firmware then it’s very likely that this is already a hardware related problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Charging After Software Update

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Today it prompted me to do the 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. After all was said and done, it wouldn’t charge after the update. I tried different charging blocks, restarting it a few times, and eventually I went to the store to see if I could test a new cord. They tested it on a Samsung charging cord and it worked just fine. So, I purchase a new cord and when I get it home, it still won’t charge. It appears that this new update has made it so my phone will not charge on off-brand cords. Is this fixable?

Solution: It’s possible that the charging cord that you bought is faulty. Have you tested if this cord works on another device? If it does then what you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed as this can interfere with the charging process. Once the port had been cleaned try to check if the phone can charge. I it still can’t charge then I suggest that you get a Samsung branded charging cord.

Note 4 Restarts On Its Own

Problem: I have been having trouble turning on and charging my phone since Friday, August 4. My phone automatically was updating some apps and when I held it in my hand, the phone was felt like it was on fire and the battery was extremely warm too so I waited a while and it reset itself, I thought it’ll be okay- till it restarted for the third time, then it was the fifth time so I took out the burning battery and waited for it to cool. The next day, yesterday, I thought it could be the battery; so I plugged in the charger but the power bar was displaying the thunder sign for 3 hours. I don’t know what to do and I seriously don’t want a new phone. How can this problem be fixed?

Solution: It’s possible that the problem could be caused by a faulty battery since you mentioned that it got extremely warm. Before buying a new battery though I suggest that you check if a software glitch is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then you should proceed with replacing the phone battery.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by an internal component that is failing to work, possibly the power IC. If this is the case then I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off At 60% Charge

Problem: I have the issue of the phone dying with 60% charge, and when you plug it in it still says it has 60% charge. Your recommendation is to bring the phone to a service center. Mine is AT&T, so do you mean take it to an AT&T Store? Or do I need to find a Samsung Store?

Solution: I recommend bringing the phone to a Samsung store Before bringing your phone make sure to perform some of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem which we have listed below.

  • Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air then charge your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Remove the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then turn on the phone. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
  • Try getting a new battery.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Hi – I have a unlocked UAE edition Note 4. Bought it 2 years back. About 2 weeks back, started noticing that the battery would drain very fast (5-6 hours) with normal usage. I removed my microSD card, factory reset the device and changed battery, but nothing has worked. Battery still drains in 6 hours or so with basic usage (Facebook, web browsing etc. No videos, no games, no music). Any idea what is happening?

Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset and even replaced the battery which doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty internal component possibly the power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: Hello, I have issue with my Note 4 in last couple of months. Phone randomly turn off and I can’t turn on phone unless I remove and move back battery or put phone on charger (even if phone is 30-60-80% charged). This started after Marshmallow update. Sometime turn off in 5 minutes 5 times, sometimes once in 5 days. I tried to change batteries but same issue. If you can help it would be awesome. I can provide more data if needed. Thank you

Related Problem: HI there, My Samsung note 4 has worked beautifully until 3 weeks ago when it died overnight. Since then my phone resets itself intermittently, on the worst of days it will reset every 5 minutes for an hour and will freeze with the screen on overnight (phone is on my nightstand so no reason for it to be on). So far I have cleared the cache, factory reset, replaced the battery with a new one and removed any apps I added just before these problem’s started to occur. I had one day with no restarts yesterday which was a miracle however it’s worse than ever now! I love my phone and i’m not ready for it to die.

Solution: There are several possible factors why a phone will randomly turn off on its own. It could be caused by a software glitch or it could be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work.

What you will need to do first in this case is to check if the problem is software related by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.

  • The first thing you need to do is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. While the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Does the issue still occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the software troubleshooting fails then it’s time to check the phone hardware. The first hardware component that you need to check is the battery. Get a new battery and check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem is most likely caused by a malfunctioning power IC. If this is the case then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: My phone dies extremely fast. Today, from 8am & now it is 9am, it has gone down 20% with me only listening to music. Another issue is that it sometimes decides to die at around 15%. Thanks

Related Problem: I am facing my note4 battery drain issue particularly when 28 % within 2mins fastly drain. Sometimes the charging only 86% when i am removing battery and power switch Pressing then installing battery back showing 100% Suggest me the solution

Solution: The first thing you will want to do first is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the battery drain issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Does your phone have a microSD card? If it does then try removing it since a corrupted card can cause a battery drain issue.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the problem still occurs after performing the steps listed above then you should try replacing the phone battery with a new one.

Note 4 Will Not Power On

Problem: Phone will not power on until letting it sit with battery out for almost 1 hour. Have tried numerous times holding power switch with battery out etc. just stays dead unless left for 1 hr. Will start fairly regular using the long wait time. Phone has never been wet or dropped. Can it be fixed?

Solution: What you will need to do first in this case is to check if the battery is causing the problem. Get a new battery and check if the issue disappears when you use this new battery. If the issue persists then you can proceed with checking if a software glitch is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy of your data before doing this.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a malfunctioning power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Freezes And Lags

Problem: The phone like freezes at times and it’s laggy some of the times, i tried the suggestions of taking of the battery and then putting it back after 10 seconds, like 15 minutes later it started lagging and freezing and randomly going on a black screen, right now it’s lagging a lot as i’m writing this message, please help, i bought it last week.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem especially if the card has some corrupt sectors.

Another possible reason why the phone freezes and lags is because of a downloaded app. To check if this is the case you need to start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

If you are still experiencing the same issue at this point then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Down With Battery Power Left

Problem: I have samsung note 4 from us. I’m from Philippines. The problem is about the battery or something. Whenever the battery drops to 15%. It will turn off whenever i play an app or do something on my phone. Then when it turns off. It says 0% and i need to charge. But when i plugged it in. It says 14%. It sucks. Hope you can help me.

Related Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that every time I use it, the battery runs out quickly and when the phone is at 40 percent of battery, it shuts down an the phone will be really hot, What can be the problem? I thought it was the battery so I bought the new one and it keeps doing the same?

Solution: Whenever a phone shuts down with battery power left the main culprit is usually the battery. Try replacing the battery with a new one then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if the phone software is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a malfunctioning internal component. You will need to have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Battery Drains Fast Issue & Other Related Problems

There are only a few smartphone models that are still popular two years after their initial release. The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is one of these devices. Sporting a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display, and a 16MP camera among others, this device is still being used by quite a lot of people. The constant software updates that this phone is getting also helps in making it popular. While this phone has proven itself as a reliable daily driver there are instances when  certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 battery drains fast issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: This is an unlocked, international (Singapore) Note 4 Battery Drains Fast. Started 2-weeks ago after i removed battery and changed SIM card (I reinstalled the original card after 5 minutes as I wanted to check my account on another SIM card I use while travelling overseas. 1). Screen Battery usage at 46% regardless of display settings (including gray scale). Performed system cache reset, safe mode app check, most apps on sd card, reduced screen timeout. Performed battery analysis (good and temp good). I have lots of google play/drive etc apps. Will do app cache reset for each app. Drainage problem persists. 2). Sound playback on video calls extremely low. volume settings at maximum. Thank you for any feedback.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it has then try removing this. The card might have some corrupt sectors causing the phone to constantly try getting the data from the card which in turn drains the battery.

Once you have eliminated the microSD card as a possible cause to this problem the next step is to determine if this problem is caused by a battery or software issue. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Charge the phone until the battery reaches 100% then observe if it still drains fast. If the issue doesn’t occur then some software glitch could be causing the problem. If the issue still occurs then you should consider getting a new battery.

Note 4 Turned Off Then Keeps Rebooting

Problem: Hi…I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which i bought just 6 months ago…My phone was working all fine until it suddenly just turned off and then it just kept on rebooting never turning up..I tried doing everything from the Troubleshooting (power button+Volume up+ home key) and i also did a factory reset.. before the reset my phone would only turn on when attached to the power supply and as soon as i took it off it started rebooting again..after the reset the phone remained on for about half an hour until it suddenly turned off while i was still using it and the problem started all over again and the phone doesn’t get past the initial galaxy note 4 sign ..plz help..is there anything i can do ??

Solution: Since you already tried doing a factory reset then it’s safe to say that the phone software is not causing this issue. Try replacing the battery of the phone as this could be causing the problem. If the problem still occurs even after replacing the battery then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Keeps Shutting Down With Battery Life Left

Problem: Good Morning: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – and I love it! I have had it a couple of years….love the pictures/camera, love the keyboard etc. etc. however I’m not a fan that my phone keeps shutting down with 50-82% still showing on the battery life. It will often shut down if I am taking a picture and then it will attempt to reboot itself over and over and over looping this procedure several times until it finally dies. At times it also “clogs up” when I’m trying to send a text and one is being received it will not let me type and I have to wait until texting has cleared to send my message. Any suggestions?

Solution: One of the causes of a phone shutting down when taking a picture is a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery then check if the problem disappears. If it still occurs then follow the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the phone does not reboot when in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data which if corrupt can cause this problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Will Not Restart

Problem: Hello, I have been having issues with my phone for about two weeks, first it started shutting off and on by itself. I bought a new battery and issue still continued, I deleted most of my apps also. It seemed to be overheating and if I but in a fresh battery or let it sit it would restart, but yesterday it restarted and now it will not turn back on. I tried doing all the safe starts and no power at all, is there a way to restart it?

Solution: I suggest connecting your phone to a charger that is known to work and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not have a charging indicator then try cleaning the charging port first using a can of compressed air. You should also try using a different charging cord. If the issue persists then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Working Unless Plugged In Charger

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 says battery fully charged. I unplug it… It begins to and continues to reboot itself until I plug it in. As long as it is connected to the charger it works… I have done a factory reset & I have done the cache partition wipe.  Any further recommendations or do I just need a new battery?

Related Problem: OK so I have a note 4, and I’m thinking I have a faulty battery, once the phone gets below 30% it suddenly shuts off, and I turn it on, it turns on, marks 0% battery then shuts off, I plug it in and charge it and it goes up from 0 to 100% but if I take out the battery when it turns off and put it back in it shows the battery percentage of where it was, and I can charge it from there, but yet it still keeps turning off, this should be the battery no? Thanks in advance.

Solution: It’s possible that you might just need a new battery. Try replacing the battery first then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off When Using Camera

Problem: My note 4 has a problem, it dies off at 40% when you use the camera, we have tried replacing the battery with a new one, and also done a restore factory setting, aside from removing third party apps, but still the same issue persists. We previously also tried doing a safe mode and cache cleaning.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is already caused by an internal component that is failing to work. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Battery Drains Fast Issue & Other Related Problems

One of the best features of the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is its huge 3220mAh battery. This allows the phone to operate at extended periods of time without needing a charger. On average, users have reported 28 hours of talk time or 11 hours of web browsing on a single charge. There are however instances when this is  not the case as the battery appears to drain very quickly. This is what we will tackle today as we address the Galaxy Note 4 battery drains fast issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: 2nd Hand Samsung galaxy note 4 user . I got this phone just 1 day only . Within 1 day all slots of problems involving battery pops out . 1st problem – Rapid Draining of my Note 4 Battery .For comparison I have a Galaxy S6 . My S6 has a tiny 2500mah battery but the battery doesn’t drop so fast like the 2nd hand Note 4 does . Typing until now just drain 4% battery . I have physically checked the battery itself , no protruding sides or lump . I have also check the charger that comes with the 2nd hand Note 4 – no issue here , charges at the rated Volts and Amp . I also have the Galaxy S6 Charger (Both Note 4 & S6 uses the same charger model in my country Singapore ) and also it charges the Note 4 well . I just can’t figure out the problem is . Tried hard reset- No use . I want buying battery (Note 4 ) to be my last option . Please help thank you.

Solution: If a hard reset fails to fix the problem then you might have a battery that’s not performing at its optimal level. I recommend that you get a new battery then check if this fixes the issue.

Note 4 Not Charging

Problem: Phone has new battery after I noticed I was not getting the life out of the previous one (about 4 months). However the new battery is not getting charged either. The Battery Icon appears but no green bubbles from the usb to the battery like it use to do. Initially it was going on and off, but I did the power button trick to ensure it was not stuck and that took care of that. I also did the usb cleaning, no debris left behind. instead of a red charging light, I have a pulsing blue light. I can not get the phone to stay on long enough to do anything software wise. I have done several soft boots to no avail.

Solution: What you will need to do first is to ty a different charger. Use another charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone. If this fails to fix the problem then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still occurs even after the reset then there might be an issue with the phone charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Restarts Frequently

Problem: I’m really hoping that this is not a hardware or device problem but I just recently got this phone and after a couple of hours, it started to act up and restarted very frequently. When I try to put my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 into Safe Mode, all that happens is the Samsung logo keeps rebooting itself . Is there any issue regarding to the phone that could give it a reason to act up like this? It would mean a lot if we can solve the issue as soon as you are available to reply back. Thank you  It also stated (one time) that the start up FAILED and that I needed to connect to Verizon Software Repair Assistant. I have yet to try that since I don’t know where to start with that so maybe mentioning that could help bump up the solution?

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.

Try also to check if the problem occurs when the phone is connected to its wall charger. If the issue doesn’t occur then it could be caused by a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery.

Another possible factor that can cause this issue is a glitch in the phone software. If this is the case then I recommend that you start your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that if you have any personal data stored in this phone it will be erased in the process.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Battery Drains Quickly Even After Reset

Problem: Hi I hard reset my samsung note 4 and also cleared the cache but whenever I`m running something, It starts draining battery although it never happened before when I`m charging my phone since it always charges even tho apps were running… Help me please its annoying. I live in Ireland.

Solution: For this particular issue I recommend that you try getting a new battery and replace the one on your phone.

Note 4 Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: Hello there, Yesterday before i go to sleep.. i already charged my samsung note 4..and its 100% full. Then i watch a movie in 40 minutes then after that feel sleepy so i just click on the s voice button once and put it at my table. and not charging.. because left 50% btry i think.. but today when i woke up… i take my phone and it wont turn on and cannot charging.  help me please.what should i do..

Solution: Try taking out the battery of your phone and microSD card if one is installed. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try turning on your phone. If it still doesn’t turn on then try connecting it to its charger first for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that you are getting a charging indicator on the device. Turn on your phone. If it still doesn’t turn on then try using a new battery. Should this fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Charging Unless Phone Is Off

Problem: Won’t charge unless turned off. Also when charging when off it still won’t charge properly. It will be 44 percent then be 8 percent then be dead shortly after.

Solution: If your phone only charges when it is switched off then you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Next, try using a different charging cord and wall charger. Once you have eliminated the possibility of the charger causing this problem then the next step is to check the phone.

Try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. This will allow you to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem.

Try also to use a new battery on your phone.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Dies With Charge Left

Problem: hello i am having a issue with my samsung galaxy note 4 it was originally for AT&T but has been factory unlocked i bought it used and i am having a issue with the battery it always dies while there is still battery left and the battery will still drain if i’m using it while it is on the charger i have reinstalled stock 5.1 and it seemed it was working but the issue came right back i don’t know what else to do

Solution: It appears that the battery of the phone might not be performing at its optimal level anymore. I’d recommend that you get a new battery and check if this fixes the problem. Make sure to get an original Samsung battery for your phone so you won’t have any compatibility issues with it.

Note 4 Turns Off Then Goes To Boot Loop

Problem: Hi, I’ve a Samsung Galaxy Note (4) Edge and I’m having problem with my battery (not sure if it is) because sometimes when my phone has charged to the 50% or 30% it turns off and it starts an infinite loop (turning on and off automatically). I’ve tried to buy another battery but the problem persists so I think it’s a firmware problem, now I’ve bought a new battery because the last one emitted a voltage of  3.3 V but it have to issue 4,4 V. Also the original battery (which one was in the box with the phone) emits 3,3-3,6 V and only if it is under charge it emits 4,4 V, is it normal?

Solution: The standard battery for this phone is a 3.85 volt Li-Ion battery with a charge voltage of 4.4 volts. If this isn’t what’s stated in the battery that you got then try getting the official Samsung battery for this device. If the problem still occurs even with the official battery then it’s time to take a look at the phone software. Before proceeding make sure to backup your phone data. You should also take out the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.

To troubleshoot the software side you will need to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem I suggest that you have this phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Hello there. My phone is about one year old since I got it. The past few months the battery got drained really fast. After it’s fully charged overnight and I disconnect it in the morning, despite hardly being used, it can go from 100% to 80% in just one hour. Much time I capture some short video clip (about 90 secs) while the battery is still at 60%, my phone would shut down and the battery is completely go to 0%. However, when I attach it to the wall charger, to my surprise, within 5 mins, it shoots back up to about 50%. Here are a few things I’ve done, without any improvement: Use another Note 4 battery. Clear cache partition. Factory reset, then restored backed up data. Swap out for another Note 4 Did 2 and 3 again with restored backed up data Did 2 and 3 again without restoring old data. Got a new battery (phone will not boot) I really appreciate any insight provided.

Solution: It appears that the issue is already hardware related possibly caused by an internal component that is failing to work. What’s even strange is that it is happening on both Note 4 devices since you mentioned that you swapped another Note 4. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked so that the malfunctioning component can be pinpointed.

Note 4 Not Charging On Power Bank

Problem: I recently got a 2200 mAh power bank for my Samsung Note 4 and am having some trouble. When I initially plug the phone up to the bank it will charge but after a minute or two the bank shuts off. I know it is not a faulty power bank because my friend used it with no problems. Is there something with Samsung phones that isn’t compatible with the power bank? Is there a setting I’m missing that I need to change? Any tips or advice at all?

Solution: Try using a different charging cord as sometimes the problem could be caused by the cord. If the issue remains even when using a different cord then it’s possible that the output voltage of the power bank is not compatible with your phone. This phone is capable of accepting a charge input of 9V at 1.67A or 5V at 2.0A. You should also test your phone with another power bank as the current power bank you are using might not work well with your phone.

Note 4 Not Turning On

Problem: hello I have a problem with my note 4, the phone would turn on and the after showing the start up screen it dies. yet the led light still stays on and continues to blink. Every time try to turn it on it does the same thing, but sometimes it does not even turn on till i remove the battery. What should I do?

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will erase the temporary system data of the device which could be causing the problem. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then try getting a new battery as sometimes the issue could be caused by a faulty battery.

Should the issue still occur at this point then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Down When Using Apps

Problem: My device shuts down between 99-80% when I’m using apps like email, internet, ig, or texting. I can talk on the ph below those percentages but as soon as I disconnect the call, the phone shuts down. Once it shuts down under those circumstances it will not power on until it’s connected to the charger.

Solution: Try to check first if an app you downloaded is causing thi problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then backup your phone data and follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Try replacing the battery with a new one.

If you are still experiencing the same problem at this point then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Battery Drains Fast Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 is powered by a 3220mAh battery which provides a good usage time duration. When the battery is fully charged you will normally get 28 hours of talk time or 11 hours of web browsing time. This are actually good figures which should make the phone last a full day on normal usage. There are however instances the battery life is not what’s expected which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 battery drains fast issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Hi droid team,  My note 4 has been giving many issues for a while, i don’t know if it’s a single problem or a combination of problems. However, here are the issues Battery drain : there’s something peculiar about this….i could charge up my battery to say 100 percent, removing the charger from my battery and turning on data on my phone….it begins a steep battery drain that starts with the “no signal sign” with very brief resumption of “signal” as battery percentage slides towards Zero. whilst heating up. I have gotten two new batteries in recent months, thinking it was a problem with the battery. but the problem has persisted despite.

Solution: Since you have already tried replacing the battery which doesn’t appear to fix the problem then the next thing you should do is to check if the phone software is causing this issue. For this problem you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. If you have a microSD card installed then try removing it too. Check if the battery drain problem still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Not Turning On After Replacing Battery

Problem: My note 4 was draining battery so I got replacement battery. After I installed the battery phone was tested and functioning fine. I put phone in a drawer and when I took it out it was on the screen that said not to turn off downloading target. Thus Android screen remained until I finally removed the battery. Now the phone won’t start up. I did try taking out the battery replacing it and holding down the the reconnected keys at once. I got a vibration and a different screen that stayed on but disappeared when I let go of the power button. Now I can’t get anything, no charge no turn on, nothing. Please advise. Thanking you in advance fit ask of the wonderful advice you have given in the past and for the future.

Solution: For this particular issue you should first make sure that the battery is charged and not drained. Clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed as this will interfere with the charging process. Next, charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Turn on your phone.

If the phone still does not turn on try to use the old battery and see if the phone turns on.

If your phone remains unresponsive then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off With Battery Power Remaining

Problem: My Note 4 will turn off by itself when the battery is between 30% and 60%. After I turn on again, battery is 0% and it has to be recharged. I have already reset the device and replaced the battery. Device is running latest updates for Brazil (Android 6.0.1).

Solution: When you have already performed a factory reset and replaced the phone battery but still the issue remains then it’s possible that this is caused by a faulty internal component of the phone possibly the power IC. For this issue I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Keeps Restarting On Its Own

Problem: Hi there, I have Samsung Note 4 phone. After reaching 50% or 45 % battery my phone keeps going on and off. I have to then plug in the charger to charge it and then it works. I have also tried a new battery but still the problem remains the same. Can you please help me and guide me to resolve my problem.

Related Problem: hello i have a galaxy note 4 that i have had for a little more than a yr. it did an update not to long ago and then it started shutting off when the battery would be full. it can  be like on 45% or 65% and it shuts off to where i have to put the phone on the  charger just so that it can turn back on. if you know what the problem is please let me know because i have a son in school and have to have a working phone.

Solution: Since you have already tried using a new battery which doesn’t fix the problem the next step is to troubleshoot the phone software. Do the following steps listed below. Check if the problem still occurs after performing a step then move to the next one if the issue still occurs.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Off Doesn’t Start Unless Battery Is Removed

Problem: my note 4 (SM-910F) suddenly shut down and starts when i plug out the battery and then plug it in… i recently downloaded the updates and tried to install automatically but a message popped up saying that u should try manually using kies… but a friend of mine advised me to use odin 3.12… is it software disturbance or something else ??? plz help me as soon as possible…

Solution: There are two things that you need to check for this particular issue. First, you need to use a new battery on your phone. This is to verify if the current battery is causing the problem. If the issue still remains then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. One the reset is complete try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then you can try to update your phone software. I suggest you use Kies first as upgrading the phone software using this software is easy. If you are unable to update the phone software using Kies then you will have to manually flash the update using Odin. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty internal component. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: I bought this new phone note 4 910A 3 months ago from Walmart. Since the first week the battery issue started to act up. The phone dies randomly between 50% to 30% and keeps restarting till all sudden it’s dead supposedly showing 0%. I put it on charger and it shows nothing and it turns on. So when I charge the phone sometimes it won’t reach past 50% or sometimes 80% I thought it was the cable from Samsung so I used my LG cable and same results. After removing the battery when the phone shows it’s only at 60% charged only, I reinstall the battery and it will show it’s pretty much at 98%. The kicker is the battery doesn’t last also more than 3 hours when I look at the battery status it shows it will not last that long. If the phone is fully charged and I don’t use it and I come back to it say in 8 hours it’s pretty much dead. I keep hearing also there’s an update for the firmware since its 5.0.1 from AT&T but I can’t find it, I saw it will help with the battery issue. So could it be software or battery.

Solution: Even if a new software version is available the current software version that your phone is running on should not cause this kind of issue. What you should do first is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. You should check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then try getting a new battery as the current battery that your phone is using could be causing this problem.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the above steps and if the phone is still under warranty then I recommend that you bring it back to Walmart.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Hello so I have a note 4 that started draining fast and dying when it says there is %10 to %35 battery left. As well as shows it only charges to around %91 most of the time. And so I did the cash part delete which didn’t work also did factory reset didn’t work, as well as got a new factory battery and charging station for the battery and cord, then did another factory reset and still doing the same thing. What a piss off Samsung has become. I have had this phone for no longer than a year and a month, and always in life proof case and never in water or banged around and this is how it ends up being. I also tried cleaning the ports a number of times for the charging port and draining the charge in the phone itself fully while battery was out and nothing has done a thing. I also tried doing slow charge as well. I’m sure I’m forgetting other things I’ve tried as well. I’ve tried many apps to fix this as well I should have known that wouldn’t work but tried anyways. Please help thanks

Solution: If doing  a factory reset and replacing the battery of the phone doesn’t fix the issue then this might be caused by a component inside the phone that is failing and causing a shorted circuit somewhere. I’d recommend that you bring the phone to a service center that is capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Fast Charging After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Hi, I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Last week my phone finally got the Marshmallow update and installed with no problems. However, since then I have noticed that my phone is no longer fast charging. Even though the fast charging option is enabled and shows that it is fast charging, it now takes hours for a complete charge. I am using the original charger that came with the phone, so I have a feeling it is from the update. Is there anything I can do to fix this or will I have to wait for another update? Thank you for your time!

Solution: If the issue is caused by the update then a factory reset is likely going to fix this. You should however do this as a last resort and consider performing the other troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone. Sometimes dirt or debris stuck in this port can cause this kind of issue. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw to clean it.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone. This cord gets easily damaged and the one you are using might already be damaged.
  • Try using a different adaptive fast charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then I suggest you backup your phone data then proceed with a factory reset to check if the problem is caused by the update. This reset will remove any old software data that could still be in your phone which is usually the cause of issues that occur after an update.

Note 4 Shuts Down For No Reason

Problem: I have a Galaxy Note 4 that keeps shutting down for no reason.  When I try to turn it back on the power button does not work.  I have to remove the battery, then put it back in to even get the phone to turn back on.  What could this be?  Also it doesn’t happen when I’m doing anything in particular.  Its random.

Related Problem: I have a note 4 and it turns off by itself, it has nothing to do with the battery life nether with the ram, and it won’t turn back on until I remove the battery and put it again.can you please tell me what’s the problem

Solution: You should try to check first if a glitch in the phone software is causing his problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

Another thing that you should do is to verify if the battery is causing this problem by replacing it.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then it might be caused by a component inside your phone that’s failing. If this is the case then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I have been using this phone for about one and a half year now. Previously my phone keep restarting and I brought it to a technician.  It was working well until after the software update, my phone would not turn on at all. I have tried all of the methods of switching it on on this website but nothing seems to work. Do I have to send it to the technician again?  Ps, I have no idea what version is my phone right now. I’m so sorry!

Solution: There are several things that you can do before bringing the phone to a technician. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps for this issue.

  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. If you don’t see the charging indicator on your phone then try cleaning its charging port using a can of compressed air. You should also try using a different charging cord and charger.
  • Try using a different battery.
  • Try turning on your phone while it is connected to its charger.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Stuck In T-Mobile Screen

Problem: When i try to turn on my phone, it will go to the Samsung Note 4 screen, then to the samsung startup screen, but after that it goes to the T Mobile carrier screen and just stays on that screen. It never turns on, but when i charge it the battery comes up and shows that its charging. This just happened randomly one day and i do not know how to fix it. I have tried taking the battery out overnight and then trying, and i tried to reboot the device but i’m not sure if i did it right or if it just didn’t work. Thank you!

Solution: This issue where the phone gets stuck on the startup screen can usually be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step in the list if the problem still occurs.

  • Take out the phone battery and microSD ( if your phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. Check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by the microSD card or a software glitch.
  • Try turning on your phone while it is connected to its charger. If the issue doesn’t occur then this could be caused by a faulty battery. Get a new battery and see if the problem still occurs.
  • Start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.

Note 4 Stuck In Recovery Booting After Software Update

Problem: Hello.  So recently my phone had a software update, so I decided to update it. Once it downloaded, I pressed Continue to let it install. My phone went into “Recovery Booting” and once it reached 100%, it just turned off. I tried to turn it back on by pressing and holding the power button, but it did not turn on. So, I took out the battery, waited 10 seconds, put back in the battery, and tried again. This time my phone went into “Recovery Booting” again and started updating. Once it reached 100%, it shut down again and the same thing keeps repeating.  Please Help.

Solution: It looks like something went wrong during the update process. Try connecting your phone to a computer with Kies installed and let the software update your phone. If this doesn;t work then disconnect your phone from the computer then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider manually flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Shuts Off With Charge Left

Problem: Phone has been dying whenever i use apps around 70% and has been dying at a higher percentage lately around 80. I’ve been reading online that i should “calibrate” the battery by draining the battery to 0 and charge it with the phone off until it reaches 100. Phone took several hours to charge and as soon as i start it up, it shuts off and stays in a reboot loop.

Solution: This kind of issue is usually caused by a glitch in the phone software or a faulty battery. Perform the following steps listed below to fix this issue.

  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Replace your phone battery with a new one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Shuts Off By Itself Issue & Other Related Problems

A lot of people choose the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note4 because of its huge display and long lasting battery life. In fact, in several tests conducted on the device, a single charge on its 3220mAh battery can provide around 28 hours of talk time, 11 hours of web browsing, or 17 hours of video playback. Some owners of this phone however are not getting these results. This is what we will be dealing with today as we tackle the Galaxy Note 4 shuts off by its own issue & other related problems. We have gathered several issues of this nature sent to us by our readers and have addressed them below.

Note 4 Shuts Off By Itself

Problem: It’s shuts off by itself and it won’t turn on by using the power button sometimes it works or it doesn’t so I have to remove the battery to turn it on. It’s also slower and freezes sometimes. This  started to happened after I installed the new software in June 12th. Battery drains so fast too. I had it reset to factory setting setting but it’s still a problem. Is it possible to get toehold software back on my phone?

Solution: Since you mentioned that you have already performed a factory reset the next thing that you should do is to verify if the issue is caused by the battery itself. As we all know, as the battery ages it doesn’t hold its charge that well anymore. Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem.

If the issue persists then your option to rollback to the previous software version is the last option to consider. This has to be done manually by flashing the previous firmware version to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Does Not Stay On Unless Plugged

Problem: My phone won’t stay on unless it is plugged into the wall.  I did a factory reset and charged it fully to 100% but as soon as I unplug it, it dies.  Please help me!  It says 100% but it still dies.  Then, when I plug it in to charge, it says 0% and charges back to 100% but still dies immediately when I unplug it.

Related Problem: My phone only works if the charger is plugged in.  I have rebooted,  factory reset and mastery reset the phone. I have even tried the phone in safe mode and it still kept rebooting. When I have it plugged into the charger I can use it but when I take it off the charger it reboots?

Solution: It looks like the phone battery could already be faulty. Try replacing this battery with a new one. If the issue still occurs even with the new battery installed then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

Note 4 Battery Discharges Power Fast

Problem: Over the course of 13 hours, my phone went through the power of three fully charged batteries. I normally place phone on fast charge when I go to bed, leaving it plugged in throughout the night. In preparation for a trip, I slow charged three new batteries utilizing a separate charger that cuts off at 100% so as to not overcharge. This morning I did my normal routine of checking emails and a quick run through of facebook, all in less than an hour; the battery now reads 71%. What gives?

Solution: There are several factors that could cause this type of issue. First, the battery may not be holding its charge the way it used to. This is especially true if the battery is already old and has undergone several hundred charging cycles already.

Another possible reason behind this is that there is an app in your phone that is aggressively running in the background. Third party apps usually cause this kind of issue. To check if this is the case just start your phone in Safe Mode. If you don’t experience any battery drain in this mode then you should find out what app is causing this and uninstall it.

One other reason that could cause this problem is a corrupt temporary data. To find out if this is the case just start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider should the above steps fail is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding with this.

Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: My phone simply turns off, the looks like it’s going to come back on again, then switches off, then tries to come back on again etc etc… it seems like it is stuck in a restart mode.  I can have my phone plugged into my battery charger and it will be fine, but when it isn’t plugged in as soon as I try to use the camera, or go on facebook etc, it starts restarting.  I have to remove the battery to stop this from happening as it won’t allow me to switch it completely off.  once I have put the battery back in I can plug the charger in, turn the phone on and it will work until I remove the charger again.

Solution: Since you mentioned that the phone has to be connected to its charger to turn on then it’s possible that the battery could already be faulty. Have you tried using another battery in your phone? If using a new battery doesn’t fix the issue then try doing a factory reset next. Take note that this deletes your phone data so you better have a backup copy first.

If the above steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked at this could already be a hardware related issue.

Note 4 Shuts Off On Its Own

Problem: Hello there. I have a Note 4 which is constantly in a reboot loop unless the charger is plugged in then it’s fine.i bought a new battery but non original   this problem ended.another problem came up that the phone suddenly shuts down and doesn’t open till i plug the charger and then it works fine..sometimes it shuts off when i open an app..dont know what the problem..i cleaned the cache partition..made master factory reset..don’t know what the problem is ..please help..

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and also tried a new battery then this problem could already be caused by a hardware component inside the device that is failing. One possible factor that could cause this is a defective power IC. To really get to the bottom of this you need to have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Randomly Turning Off

Problem: It started with my phone randomly turning off even when it had just been charged, even at 99% battery life. Then I realized it was any time I used my camera or used any app that had a camera option like snapchat, Facebook, messenger… well the last few days it will just shut itself off even when I am not in the camera. It will not turn back on without me either plugging it into the charger OR taking out the battery and putting it back in. I have replaced the battery thinking that was the problem. It did not fix it. I also tried resetting the phone, deleting apps… none of which have worked… it used to take an hour to charge now it takes more than 8 hours on the charger to fully charge! Please help!!!!

Solution: You already tried using a new battery and you already did a factory reset. It looks like this problem could already be hardware related. A component inside the phone could already be failing. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 Takes Too Long To Charge After Software Update

Problem: today my phone made a latest update after finish it when i tried to charge it i observed that it takes much more time for being charged. i have it almost 3 hours in charging condition but still is in 51%. (i use its original fast charger)

Solution: Most issues that a device owner will experience usually happens after a software update. This is usually caused by some form of old software data that has till been left in the device. You should eliminate this possibility first by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. If the problem still occurs after the reset then follow the steps listed below.

  • Try cleaning the charging port of your phone by using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Make sure that this port is free of any dirt or debris,
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger.
  • Replace your phone battery as this could already be faulty.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge still under the 2 year warranty. However Samsung wouldn’t honor the warranty as my screen has crack and they want to fix it first for $340 and then check the phone. I have an issue where the phone battery goes from 50% to 0% in seconds. Although Samsung has checked battery twice and it is perfectly fine. I have also done a factory reset and clear cache memory twice now. Still the same problem.I wanted to ask whether it could be any other issue in the phone which might be causing it or should I buy a new battery top try it. Any comments will be highly appreciated. Also someone told me it could be Motherboard problem (Is it True) Thanks

Solution: Before ruling this as a motherboard problem try replacing the battery first with a new one. The problem could just be caused by a faulty battery. If after replacing the battery the issue still occurs then have the phone checked at a service center as this could already be a board level issue.

Note 4 Will Not Charge

Problem: My phone is not taking a charge, when I turn it off it will charge for 10 seconds and stop for a few seconds and charge again and repeat. I left it alone for over 8 hours (shouldn’t take that long because of the fast charger) and it was at 50% but that dropped to 10 within 5 minutes. I left it alone long enough to get to 60% and when I had it on I tried to go into the google app so I could backup my stuff just incase, nothing google related works at all, not google now, google+, google maps or the google website. Not even youtube will load but other apps that require internet load, I tried using only my mobile data and still the same. When I got to the google website in my browser it says something like “couldn’t load ??????? connection not secure” (???? because I don’t remember it all). Right now I can’t get it to charge at all so I’m going to be ordering a new battery to see if that will fix the charging issue but there is still the google issue. Before any of this happened I would check for software updates once a week but I haven’t had any in months but my friend who has the same exact phone as me has but I am not sure if its the same update that she never installed or a new one.

Solution: For the charging issue you could try using a different charging cord first. This cord gets easily damaged especially if it is constantly coiled or bent and can cause this intermittent charging issue. Another factor to consider is the accumulation of dirt or debris in the phone’s charging port. Check the charging port and if necessary clean it using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. You should also consider using a different charger as the one you are using could be defective.

Regarding the issue of the Google apps not loading this could be a data issue. Try starting your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If the problem persists then try to check the time settings of your phone. Make sure that you have set it to automatic date & time. If the problem persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Shuts Down If Not Charging

Problem: Hello thedroidguy, I recently started having an issue with my phone in where I cannot use my phone other than when I am charging it. When it’s not charging, it seems to just completely shut down, and if I try to turn it on again it will show the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 logo, go black and show the logo again. I had this issue before a couple months ago. So I bought a new battery pack. It worked well for about two months, so I don’t believe the battery is any problem. I also tried a hard reset on the phone as well and again the problem continues to persist. Honestly I don’t know what else I can do. I hope you can help. Thanks!

Solution:  This could already be a hardware related issue. You should however check if this issue is caused by a problem with the phone software. Since you have already done a hard reset which doesn’t seem to solve the issue I would suggest that you flash the original firmware to your device. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the issue persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Down Even At 100% Battery Level

Problem: It started with my front camera not working anymore, then when I’d open Snapchat my phone would shut down if my battery was close to 20%, now my phone will shut off even at 100% if I open Snapchat or Shazam. Also if it is at 100% and I take it off the charger, it will die immediately. It will continue to try to turn on and keep dying over and over again until I eventually take the batter out to make it stop. Then when I plug it back into the charger it will shoot back up to its fully battery and turn back on. (But if I take it off the charger it will die again).

Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery then check if the issue still occurs. If the problem still occurs even with a new battery installed then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Shuts Off Randomly

Problem: Phone shuts off randomly, gets to the screen that says “Samsung” and restarts again, repeatedly, without stopping. I’ve tried taking out the battery once this happens and putting it back a few minutes later but it starts restarting again, over and over. The only thing that I’ve found that fixes it is connecting the phone to a power source. This started in the last week. I’m not sure what’s happening.

Solution: If charging the phone temporarily fixes the problem then there’s a possibility that this issue is caused by a faulty battery. The battery may not be providing the correct voltage necessary to turn on the phone which is why it shuts down on its own. I suggest you get a new battery then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In the event that the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Battery drains fast, even after replacing the battery, performing 2 systems resets, removed and disabled several apps.  Also downloaded S 360 security. Could it be a firmware issue? If so, where can I possibly get the phone replaced?  Thanks

Solution: It’s possible that the phone firmware is causing this problem. You should try to flash your phone with its stock firmware then check if the issue still occurs. To do this you will need a copy of the firmware file as well as the latest version of Odin installed in your computer. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the issue still occurs even with a fresh firmware installation then this could be caused by a problem with the phone hardware. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Will Not Charge

Problem: Phone is turned off and charger is plugged up to the phone and it just vibrates ..phone will not charge did factory reset phone still wont charge please help

Solution: Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone. You should also consider using a different charger if the issue still occurs.

Another factor that can cause this issue is dirt or debris in the charging port of your phone. If necessary you should clean the charging port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.

A faulty battery can also cause this problem. To check if this is the case try to use a new battery on your phone.

If the problem still remains then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Not Taking Charge Issue & Other Power Related Problems

The #Samsung Galaxy #Note4 is one of the smartphone models available in the market that offers a great battery life. Having a 3220 mAh battery allows this phone to make 28 hours of 3G calls, 11 hours of web browsing, or 17 hours of video playback on a single charge. This is indeed quite impressive considering the fact that most of the high end smartphones available in the market today loses its charge at the end of the day.

Samsung Galaxy S4

There are however some owners of this phone having a problem charging the device or turning it on. This is what we will be discussing today as we tackle the Galaxy Note 4 not taking charge issue & other power related problems.

We will be more than happy to assist you with any concern that you may have with your device. This is a free service we are offering with no strings attached. Note 4 Not Taking Charge

Problem: My phone is not taking charge. It is at 46% and when I plug in the charger , it takes like forever to charge. If I just swipe the screen the battery power will drop to 44% quickly. I have changed the battery and I am still getting the same problem. Please help me.

Solution: One of the main cause of this kind of problem is a faulty battery. However, since you mentioned that you already replaced the battery which didn’t resolve the issue then there may be another factor involved that’s causing this problem.

The next likely culprit in this case is your phone software. There may be an app or process running aggressively in the background that is using up the battery charge. You can check if this is the case by opening your battery settings. See if there is any process or app that’s unusually using up most of your battery life

If an app is using up most of the battery life try to disable the app first then check if the problem still occurs. You can also start your phone in Safe Mode. This disables the third party apps from running in your device while only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue persists. You may have to uninstall the app to resolve the issue.

If the problem is caused by a running process then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the issue gets resolved.

As a final note, a defective microSD card can also cause this type of problem so if you have one installed then try taking it out.

Note 4 Won’t Charge

Problem: My Note 4 won’t charge, just turns off and vibrates, won’t turn back on until I remove the charger cable.

Solution: If your phone does not turn on if the charger is connected to it but turns on without the charger then there may be an issue with the charger. The first thing you need to do is to replace the charging cord. This cord gets damaged easily especially if it is constantly coiled or bent. If the issue still occurs after replacing the cord then proceed with replacing the wall charger.

Once you have replaced the cord and charger and the problem still occurs then the next thing you should do is to check the charging port of your phone. If there is any presence of dirt or debris then clean the port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.

If the issue still persists then this may already be caused by a faulty phone hardware possibly caused by a defective charging port.

Before bringing your phone to an authorized service center for checking and repair I suggest you backup your phone data first and do a factory reset to eliminate any possible software related problems that’s causing this issue.

Note 4 Does Not Charge To 100%

Problem: I have samsung note 4 N910F model with original charger and cable. My phone stop charging at 37% and when i discharge the battery of that 37% and restart the phone so the remaining battery 63% automatically comes. I don’t understand what is the problem and why my phone don’t charge completely 100% in one time like normal phones. I tried to re calibrate the battery and discharge 37% then 63% but when i charged from 0% so the phone charged first 63% then started with 1% again and stopped at 37%. I have changed new original battery but problem remains same. Kindly tell me the reason if you can.

Solution: If replacing the phone battery does not resolve the issue then try replacing the charger and charging cable that you are using. Check if your phone can now charge to 100%.

If the problem still persists then there’s a possibility that this may be caused by a software glitch. I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Powers Down When 30% Battery Life Left

Problem: When my battery gets down to 30%, my device usually powers down. If it makes it past 30 and goes to 15%, when you immediately get the warning that your device battery is low, it shuts off.  When this happens, it tries to power back on automatically, then powers back down. Keeps doing this until battery is depleted. This issue happens to a couple people I know that also has a Note 4, so I know it’s not a singular problem

Solution: There are two factors that can cause this type of problem. First is a faulty battery and second is the phone software. Let’s first tackle the software part. A glitch in the phone software can sometimes cause this kind of problem. To check if this is the case I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the issue still occurs.

If the problem still occurs then I suggest you get a new battery (make sure it is an original Samsung battery).

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: My battery drain extra fast at work. The only thing I do there is check the  news app 2 or 3 times in 10 hours shift. I barely make it for 8 hours . I bought a power bank, but while out of work on my days off, I get a day and a little bit more on charger with using it in a far much heavier situation, like youtube and so! They had earlier to change my cell 2 times sent me 2 batteries. It used to be bad inside and outside. Now it’s only at work!

Solution: If the issue only occurs in your work then one possible factor that can cause this is poor signal reception. If the network signal is weak in your workplace then the phone antenna will use up more battery life to get a stable signal.

Another possible reason why the issue occurs only in your workplace is that a location based app may be activating in this particular area. This app may be running aggressively and using up battery life in this place. Try checking what apps are running while you are at your work or you can start your phone in Safe Mode while in your work. Once the phone is in Safe Mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while app you downloaded are disabled. See if the problem still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is very likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Note 4 Turns Off Randomly

Problem: Phone turns off randomly when this happens  phone and battery get hot also had red broken lines when this happens

Solution: Try checking if this issue is caused by some form of corrupt data in your phone by starting your phone in recovery mode then choosing the wipe cache partition option. Once this is done check if the problem still occurs.

If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after performing the above troubleshooting steps the problem still occurs then I suggest you try using a new battery on your phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Slow Charging Issue & Other Related Problems

When your phone is low on power the first thing that you do is to grab the wall charger and charge the device. The #Samsung Galaxy #Note4 with its 3220mAh battery can go for a longer amount of time before it needs a recharge nevertheless the device still needs to be charged once the battery life becomes low.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Charging the Note 4 is quite simple since all you have to do is to plug the wall charger to an outlet then plug the charging cable to the phone. There are however instances when the phone will not charge normally, which is what we will tackle today.

In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will resolve the Galaxy Note 4 slow charging issue and other related problems.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4  or any other Android device for that matter then feel free to contact us using this form. We will be more than happy to assist you with any concern that you may have with your device. This is a free service we are offering with no strings attached. We however ask that when you do contact us try to be as detailed as possible so that an accurate assessment can be made and the correct solution can be given.

Note 4 Charges Slow

Problem: my note 4 was eating through my battery so i ordered a brand new battery. that new battery was draining quickly so i performed a hard reset and now when phone is on , it doesn’t recognize the charger, when it’s off, it gets a lightening bolt on the screen and vibrates every 2 seconds. if i leave it plugged in like that it will charge extremely slow. i’ve tried both batteries and multiple chargers and cables

Solution: The first thing you need to check is the physical connection. Check your phone charging port for any signs of dirt or debris. If necessary, clean this port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. The USB cable is also a factor in this type of issue. This cord gets easily broken if it is constantly coiled or bent. Get another cord and see if it resolves the issue ( preferable another Note 4 cord or a Note 4 certified cord). You should also try using another Samsung wall charger.

Since you already performed a factory reset then we can skip this part.

If the problem still persists at this point then this could be caused by a defective charging port on your phone. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Fast

Problem: I will go all day with the same battery and will go to bed fully charged.  Looking at my graph, there suddenly is a enormous power drain between 1 and 3 am.  I have to plug in like at 4 am.  I can’t figure out what is causing it.  It just started a week ago.  Any thoughts? I don’t have any new apps that I can think of.

Solution: Try checking on your battery settings during the time the issue occurs and see what is using up your phone battery life. You will get a list of the apps and services that is using up your battery, check for any unusual activity. There may be an app that runs during this particular time.

You can also start your phone in Safe Mode before you got to bed. Make sure your phone is fully charged before setting your phone to Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while the apps you downloaded and installed in your device are disabled. This makes it easier to check if a third party app is draining your battery. When you wake up in the morning you should check the battery status of your phone first. If the battery drain issue disappears then the problem is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

There are also instances when a form of corrupt data causes this issue. If this is the case then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If your phone has a microSd card installed then try removing it. If this card has some corrupt sectors then it may also cause the battery drain problem since the phone will have a hard time accessing the data stored in it.

One final troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset using the hardware keys. Take note that this deletes all data stored in your phone so you should make sure to backup your data before performing this procedure.

Note 4 Battery Draining Fast After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I have a Note 4 and I received an update from Samsung and I updated it OTA, since then battery backup is not what it was before with 90% of charge it is saying me that I have 9hrs 30min left. How is this even possible?! Charge is dropping @1% per 2-3 min while casual browsing. I took the battery out and put it again, but no change. Please help, I don’t want to do a factory reset.

Solution: I highly recommend that you do a factory reset since this problem occured right after a software update. Since this is not an option right now then the best thing that you can do is to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This deletes the temporary data stored in your phone that could be corrupt and is causing this problem.

Note 4 Boot Loop Unless Charger Is Plugged

Problem: Since yesterday, 11/10/2015, my Note 4 has begun to shut off and be stuck in a reboot loop that will not allow it to turn on until I plug in the charger. Once the charger is plugged into the phone, the loop will be broken and the phone will turn completely on. It will stay on as long as it is on the charger and for a while after I remove the charger. but eventually it will shut off and get stuck on the loop while booting. I checked your forum and have done a clear cache from safe mode. This did not seem to do anything once I rebooted the phone. although it stayed on the entire time I was working on safe mode. At no time has the problem happened where the battery has been drained. As it happens whether the battery shows 80%, 35%, or 50% life. Thank you for the assistance and hope you are able to help me with this problem.

Solution: The first thing you need to do is to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset using the hardware keys.

Once the factory reset is complete observe if the boot loop issue still occurs when the phone is not connected to the charger.

If it still occurs then I suggest you try replacing your battery with a new one.

If the problem persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On Erratic Charging

Problem: i just got a new galaxy note 4. last night it was charged about 85% and just shut off out of nowhere I tried to turn it on and it would start and get to the Samsung logo and jingle and then shut off. then by itself turn back on and then off 2 more times then it stayed off but the light was flashing between blue and teal and I did a factory reset with the same issue result when I tried to turn it on just the little light was on flashing from blue to teal so I tried to plugin the charger and it was at 12% went up to 45% in 30 sec. any thoughts?

Solution: It appears that the phone battery may be defective. Before getting a new battery though I suggest you check if this is a software related issue by backing up our phone data then doing a factory reset. If the problem persists after this then get a new battery.

Note 4 Freezes With Replacement Battery

Problem: I bought a spare battery and every time I use the new battery it works fine for a while, then all of a sudden it goes to a black screen and I can’t do anything to get it to come back up without removing the battery and replacing it.  Then it will do the exact same thing once again.  Once I remove that battery and replace it with my original battery, it never freezes.  I thought it was a battery issue, even though it is the exact model number and make Samsung EB-BN910BBE as my original, so I requested a replacement of the bad battery.  I received my new battery, same model number (Samsung) and it does the exact same thing!  When I replace it with my original battery, it never locks up!   Help!!!  I can’t figure this one out!!!  Thanks!!!!

Solution: It looks like the store where you got the battery may have a bad batch. If you have a voltage tester you can check the output voltage of the replacement battery you got and compare it with the original phone battery. I suspect that the replacement battery may be providing a lower voltage which is causing the problem.

You should also eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue by backing up your phone data and doing a factory reset. Once the factory reset is complete insert the replacement battery then check if the issue still persists.
