Samsung has announced that they are now shipping the critically acclaimed Samsung galaxy Note 2 to Canadian retailers and will be available to purchase within the next two weeks or so. TELUS, WIND, and Mobilicity will be offering the Note II. Bell and Rogers have also confirmed that they will be carrying this device. In fact, these two retailers are already taking orders online for a mere $199 on a three-year contract. TELUS has also notified people that they are facing delays with the Note II and will not have the device until later this week at the earliest. In fact, you may not see the device until next week. Despite some of the delays, Samsung has also said that Psy, the creator of the famous Gangnam Style, will be performing in Toronto tonight.

The Galaxy Note II will be featuring HSPA+ and 4G LTE connectivity, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, an 8 megapixel auto focus rear-facing camera with a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3100mAh battery, 2GB of RAM and microSD card support up to 64GBs. The Galaxy Note II will also be coming in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models along with a white or black color to choose from.

The Galaxy Note II is definitely a behemoth of a device and Canadians will no doubt be excited to see this in retailers very soon. TELUS hasn’t said how long the delay will be for them, and “sometime this week” was rather vague, so don’t hold your breath.

In more unrelated news, T-Mobile, U.S Cellular and Sprint have released the Galaxy Note II in the United States with AT&T and Verizon set to release there versions of the handset in the coming weeks and months. AT&T will be launching it on November 9th (hopefully there won’t be any delays that we experienced with the original Galaxy Note last year) and Verizon will be launching it on November 29th. Quite a bit of a wait, and for unknown reasons, but Verizon is usually late on everything anyway, especially their Android firmware updates. Though, users on Verizon’s network should be happy as they aren’t getting carried away like T-Mobile has with their $369.99 price tag. Verizon has the device priced at $299 like many of the other carriers in the United States and across the world.

All that said, are Canadians excited for the Galaxy Note II? Have you already pre-purchased the phablet through a carrier or are you waiting for it to officially release before you throw any money down? Are any of you going to Samsung Electronic’s launch party in Toronto with Psy tonight?

We’ll keep everyone updated for when TELUS has their Galaxy Note II’s in stock and ready for purchase. It shouldn’t be too long from now, but who knows what complications and delays they are experiencing. In the mean time, after the official release of the device, there will be plenty of things to read up on it to hold you over!
