Lenovo has just revealed their new line of Android smartphones called the Vibe series with the introduction of the Lenovo Vibe X (S960) in a product event held recently in Beijing, China. This device will become available in the Chinese market starting this October 20.Aside from this model, a second device called the Lenovo Vibe Z (K910) is also expected to join the Vibe family with a still to be announced launch date. The Lenovo Vibe series targets the younger generation of Android smartphone users as well as the international market.
The Lenovo Vibe X (S960) is going to be the first Vibe model to be released in the market and will come with a 5 inch full HD 1080p display. It’s going to use a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589T quad-core processor combined with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The storage can further be expanded by using a microSD.
This device comes with a 13-megapixel rear facing camera as well as a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Other notable features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, NFC, USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and support for GSM /WCDMA/HSPA networks. It’s also only 6.9mm thin and weighs only 121g.

A second Vibe device was also spotted called the Lenovo Vibe Z (K910). This device is similar in design with the Vibe X and even uses the same metal material. This is however a much larger smartphone that sports a 5.5 inch display capable of full HD 1080p resolution. One other notable feature of this model is that it does not have any physical buttons. The menu, home and return buttons are all touch based.
Just like the Vibe X the Vibe Z also uses a 13-megapixel rear facing camera as well as a 5-megapixel front facing camera. This makes its front facing camera superior than most models out in the market today.
The Lenovo Vibe Z (K910) uses a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor combined with 2 GB of RAM. The GPU used is an Adreno 330. This model uses Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean however there are plans to upgrade this to Android 4.4 KitKat in the near future.
There is still no information when this model will be released in the market and how much it is going to cost. Judging from its specs it’s going to cost more than the Vibe X.
An AnTuTu benchmark test conducted on the device showed that it scored 34,000 points.
