Sprint Offering Kyocera DuraXT Handset

Users who are prone to dropping electronics devices may want to take a look at the Kyocera DuraXT phone. This device, which is exclusively available from Sprint, is a highly durable device that is covered in a Dura Grip-branded non-slip, rubber casing that makes gripping it easy even in rugged environments. More impressively, it passes the Military Standard 810G Specifications for the usual enemies of phone durability, including shock, dust, extreme temperatures, vibration, salt fog, solar radiation, and humidity. It can also withstand rain and water submergence for up to 1 meter or 3.28 ft. deep and for as long as 30 minutes.

The device has a clamshell form factor and offers push-to-talk services from Sprint. It features Sprint Direct Connect, which provides push-to-talk calling with other users of the same service. This feature comes with Guaranteed Talk Permit that assures users that their calls are sent through a chirping sound. Group Connect also allows the user to connect with up to 20 other users of Sprint Direct Connect, while TeamDCSM does the same, but for up to 200 other users nationwide.

Meanwhile, Call Alert with Text transmits a text message and or a sound alert to other Sprint Direct Connect users. This alter lets them know the reason why the Kyocera DuraXT user is trying to reach them. A feature called NextMail, for its part, transmits the user’s message to another person’s email inbox or phone by simply pushing the Direct Connect button. Lastly, one called Availability Notification informs the Kyocera DuraXT user of the availability of other users.

As for the phone’s specifications, it comes with a 3.2 MP camera that has a flash function and is able to record video. It supports SMS and MMS messaging as well as email through POP3 and IMAP. Moreover, it sports Bluetooth connectivity 2.0 + EDR, a 2.5 mm audio jack, hearing aid compatibility, and speakerphone mode, and voice activated dialling.

The Kyocera DuraXT phone is available for $69.99.
