Prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless is no stranger to Android. At a 1:1 meeting with Thedroidguy this past March Cricket’s VP Matt Stoiber and Marketing Guru Greg Lund told us that Android has been a great success to them and they are happy that they can offer Android powered smartphones to their cost conscious subscribers.
Cricket began their Android line up with the Kyocera Zio, even before it was released on Sprint and Sprint ID was added. The next Android device on the Cricket network was the original Huawei Ascend. It offered the best value proposition for an Android 2.x smartphone at the time, and they are following it up with the Huawei Ascend II.
