As we head into the 2011 holiday shopping season some may think it’s odd that we are featuring a case for a phone released in June 2010. Well if you weren’t aware, the original HTC Evo 4G was still the number one selling Android device in the third quarter of 2011.
The new Ballistic cases challenge the main stay by Otterbox for tough, reliable, durable and stylish cases. In fact, in a space that Otterbox used to rule, more and more companies have found ways to make equally protective, and more eye appealing cases.

The Shell Gel case for the HTC Evo 4G even features a kick stand so you don’t lose that functionality by covering and protecting your HTC Evo 4G.
The Shell Gel case by Ballistic is also available For the, HTC Evo 3D, Droid Incredible 2, Thunderbolt, Sensation 4G, Nexus S, and the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G.

In June 2010 HTC and Sprint released the HTC Evo 4G. The HTC Evo 4G was the first Android smartphone on Sprint’s WiMax 4G network. It also had the biggest screen, the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI, and the latest version of Android at the time. It was also the big giveaway at the 2010 Google I/O developers conference in San Francisco in May.
One year and 3 months later the HTC Evo 4G was still the best selling Android phone according to NPD. That seems in line with the rest of their research as the iPhone 4S (a year old) was the best selling smartphone in Q3 and the iPhone 3GS (2 years old) was the second best selling smartphone to date.
