Android developers have very high regard for the #HTC #HD2 from 2009. Even though the phone has long been discontinued, it is one of the most customizable Android smartphones available out there. This is quite ironic as the phone originally debuted with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. Even though manufacturers struggle to send out Android updates
The #HTC #HD2 smartphone has run several mobile operating systems in its day. The handset which was originally released in November 2009 or about six years ago, was launched with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. However, the device went out of Microsoft’s support cycle soon after that, but still remained quite active in the developer community.
It’s baffling to see how some developers manage to get newest versions of an OS running on a relatively older device. This is crucial for devices which are usually forgotten by its creators. Due to (alleged) hardware limitations, manufacturers quickly write off a device from their update list. The HTC HD2 is one of them.
