The Samsung Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo were launched back during the MWC as successors of the Galaxy Gear from last year. Although the Gear 2 Neo wasn’t exactly a high end smartwatch, its pricing was a bit too steep at $200. And now, a new deal over at Daily Steals is offering the smartwatch for just $165, providing a decent $35 discount on the standard asking price. The deal will last until stocks run out, so you might not have long to make up your mind. Free shipping is being offered as well, which is a bonus to go along with the price.
Retailers like Amazon and Best Buy are selling the smartwatch in the $190-$200 price segment, so this is a considerable discount on the standard asking price. The Gear 2 Neo can do almost everything the Gear 2 does, but some features such as the camera are missing. So if that’s a worthwhile trade off for you, head over to the link below to place an order for the Gear 2 Neo.

Samsung’s latest trio of smartwatches are now getting a minor update with some much needed features on board. The update is being seen in the U.S. variants of the smartwatches for the time being and might take a couple of days to finish rolling out to all units.
Below is the list of changes making its way with the update:
- Pedometer is more accurate and starts counting steps automatically.
- Higher pedometer goals.
- An easier pedometer data transfer process.
- Improved heart rate monitor accuracy.
- Updated Sleep Mode that disables the screen wake-up feature, so you can wear it while sleeping without being disturbed.
- More options for messages sent to rejected calls and the ability to create custom messages.
As this is an update for the three smartwatches, users will have to update using the Gear Manager app on their compatible Samsung smartphones. Make sure you check for an update now or you can wait for an update notification to pop as well.

Samsung is off to a great start with the Gear 2 , Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit smartwatches which have managed to convince users that wearables are certainly a viable option in this day and age.
However, if you’re still on the fence about choosing either of the two smartwatches, the company wants to make it a little easier for you to pick the right one with this neat infographic listing out its features as suited for a particular individual. This infographic also reveals the existence of two new wrist band colors for the Gear Fit in the form of Ruby Red and Camouflage.
The Gear Fit appears to be well suited for people who don’t like a heavy watch and use it mostly for notification and fitness features. The Gear 2 however is a complete smartwatch which can make or reject phone calls, while the Gear Fit can only reject calls.
Also, there’s no camera on the Gear 2 Neo or the Gear Fit, which is another reason to pick the Gear 2. It’s clear that Samsung wants users to pick the Gear 2 as it is the most expensive option available.
So which one would you pick if you haven’t bought one already?

The leaks and rumors were plenty, and so was the anticipation after the Galaxy S5 was officially announced by Samsung. Now, right on schedule, the latest Galaxy S flagship has gone up for sale worldwide, in more than 125 countries. The phone should be available from retailers and local stores for $700 and up, in black, white, blue and gold color options (though some might not be available everywhere.) (more…)
Online retailer Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit smartwatches, just a week ahead of its official release. The pricing is what we’ve been told on plenty of occasions, so there are no surprises. The Gear 2 will set you back by $299 while the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit will cost $199 each. These are official Samsung USA products and not imports, so you can pre-order a unit with confidence.
The Gear Fit has received significant attention for its small yet very functional design and the curved display which wraps around the wrist quite comfortably. For $199 the Gear Fit is a complete bargain considering the hardware features that it comes with. If you’re looking for something more advanced, you can give the Gear 2 a look as it comes with a dedicated camera and a better hardware inside. The Gear 2 Neo isn’t a bad option either as it looks identical to the Gear 2 but lacks certain hardware features.
Ultimately, it depends on what you’re looking for in a smartwatch, so make sure you take a wise call. Remember, these smartwatches are also compatible with older Galaxy devices, so head over to the links below for the official compatibility list.

The Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit smartwatches are expected to land in the markets officially on the 11th of April. However, UK retailer Unlocked Mobiles is already selling the Gear Fit and the Gear 2 Neo a week ahead of its official release. It is said that the Gear 2 Neo is the most popular at the moment with both devices selling with a price tag of £179.98 ($299). Only the black models are said to be in stock at the moment.
Considering that the Gear devices are compatible with older Samsung devices as well, this news doesn’t surprise us. However, we’re not sure if this is merely the retailer’s doing or if Samsung has given the permission to launch these wearables ahead of launch to leverage the massive hype and demand.
The Gear 2 Neo is very similar to the Gear 2 in terms of looks, but it lacks certain hardware features which justifies the low price tag. When available, the Gear 2 is slated to cost $399 globally, so it certainly won’t go easy on your wallets.
