Galaxy Tab 3

A new deal from an eBay retailer is now offering the #Samsung #GalaxyTab3 7.0 for just $89.95. This is a seller refurbished model of the tablet, so the discount is justified. The deal might not be valid for long, so it is suggested that users proceed with haste in order to get their hands on this budget Samsung tablet on the cheap.

The Galaxy Tab 3 is originally from 2013, so it’s not exactly a brand new product. [Deal] Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Kids Edition on offer for $59.99

Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Kids

The #Samsung #GalaxyTab3Lite Kids Edition can now be yours for a miserly $59.99 courtesy of a deal running over at Amazon. This is significantly cheaper compared to its usual pricing of $149.99. Naturally, this is not a permanent price reduction and will not last for long, so make sure you snatch it up before it’s too late.

The deal is valid for the next few hours and is part of Amazon’s Gold Box, which offers incredible discounts on a multitude of products on a regular basis. This Kids Edition model of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite comes with a slightly toned down design and attractive coloring to appeal to the kids in your household.

Naturally, it will also pack deep parental controls allowing parents to pre select what their children can access on the tablet. We’ve seen Amazon launching a Kids Edition tablet not too long ago, so this concept has certainly picked up traction in the recent years. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Kids Edition lacks some basic features like a front camera, but it shouldn’t be much of a concern given that this is not a high end device.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 on T-Mobile now getting Android 4.4.4

Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung’s relatively old Galaxy Tab 3 is now getting the Android 4.4.4 update courtesy of T-Mobile USA. This comes at a time when people are expecting Android 5.0 on their smartphones and tablets, but considering that the Galaxy Tab 3 is over a year old, this isn’t very surprising.

T-Mobile’s changelog mentions that the update finally brings a transparent navigation bar, better performance from the device and improved RAM management, which could be a massive addition to the tablet.

Since the device was running Android 4.4 already, there won’t be any other major visual changes in tow, so don’t be surprised at the lack of newness after the update. One can only hope that Samsung issues the latest Android 5.0 update to the device over the coming months.

The OTA notification for Android 4.4.4 should pop on your device any time now, but if it doesn’t, make sure you hit the settings and check for an update manually.

Already received the update? Let us know what you think of the new changes.

Galaxy Tab 3

Galaxy Tab 3

The Sprint variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is now getting the update to Android 4.4.2 with the build number T217SVPUBNE7. The update will be rolled out in stages, so don’t fret if it doesn’t appear immediately on your device. The update has been long overdue as Google is already transitioning into Android 4.4.3.

But coming from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the update is quite significant for the Galaxy Tab 3. And considering that this is the carrier variants of the tablet, the delay in the rollout doesn’t surprise anyone. With all that being said, it’s commendable of Samsung to provide an update to a device which was marketed as a budget offering last year.

Checkout the changelog for the update below:

  • New Lock Screen Access – Media Controls, Camera Shortcut
  • SMS App Chooser – select a default application for sending and receiving SMS text messages
  • Restyled Status and Navigation Bars – status and navigation bars are translucent and can sit on top of apps, along with simplified status bar icons
  • Consolidated Location Settings – location services are integrated and more detailed by new Location menu
  • Expanded Emoji Icons
  • Wireless Printing – supports printing over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • Prevention Information pop-up message is suppressed

Samsung announces Garnet Red variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 for the U.S.

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Garnet Red

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Garnet RedSamsung has just unveiled the Garnet Red variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 tablet for the American market. This joins the already available White and Black variants of the tablet available through various retailers across the country. This sparky variant of the tablet will start making its way to the U.S. via major retail outlets beginning from February 2. The Garnet Red variant of the smartphone is certainly a neat addition to the lineup as it spices up the rather plain color choices given by Samsung at this moment.

Pricing is set at $199.99 for the Wi-Fi only variant with no word on the LTE variant of the tablet, but we think it will eventually make its way to the shelves. Samsung is on a roll since the last couple of weeks as it has launched several tablets including the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite earlier today, which is a slightly underpowered version of the 7 inch Galaxy Tab 3. Launching new color variants of an aging device is something which the manufacturer has done on several occasions, so it’s no surprise that the Garnet Red variant of the tablet has arrived so late in the day.

T-Mobile to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 by the end of January: Leak

Galaxy Tab 3

Galaxy Tab 3A leaked document has revealed the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 through T-Mobile in the U.S. The 7 inch Galaxy Tab is already available through several retailers as well as carriers in the U.S. This new revelation was made by TmoNews which accessed a leaked internal document revealing the tablet’s arrival through T-Mobile. We would have been more excited if the recently unveiled Galaxy TabPRO and the Galaxy NotePRO tablets made their way to the carrier, but that shouldn’t take long now.

The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 packs a display resolution of 1024×600, a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 4G LTE and a 4,000 mAh battery. So it’s not a hardware beast by any stretch of the imagination. But if T-Mobile can manage to price it appropriately, there might be a few takers. The document reveals that the tablet could launch anytime before the end of January as units have reportedly made their way to stores already, so there’s not a long time to wait now.

Samsung Plugs Security Hole In Galaxy S4 And Galaxy Tab 3

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy S4 or a Galaxy Tab3? It’s probably best to change the password of your Samsung account right now. This after German based company MediaTest Digital was able to confirm that both devices were transmitting important information from the Samsung account such as name, email address, and even passwords. The company specializes in testing the security of apps and mobile devices.

MediaTest then informed German tech news company Heise Security about the issue. The media company was able to confirm that a security flaw did exist which prompted them to inform Samsung South Korea. It seems that Samsung took the mater seriously and in only 5 days after the report was made to them they had announced that the security hole has already been plugged. There are still no follow up tests conducted by third parties to confirm if indeed the security issue has been fixed already.

This issue occurs when a potential hacker is on the same WiFi network as the Galaxy S4 or the Galaxy Tab 3. They will be able to gain access to the Samsung account of an individual which not only contains the backup information of the device but location data as well. If an account has been hacked into the hacker can locate the precise location of the owner of the device, get a glimpse of the owners’ movements in a 12 hour period, place call redirects, check the calling lists, and even lock the owner from his or her device.

If you own any of the two affected devices then it is highly recommended that you change your password immediately from the Samsung account website and not on your mobile device. New users should also register their accounts on the Samsung website as well.

With a lot of people concerned about privacy and security lately it is very important to take all the necessary precautions to safeguard our data.

Samsung rolling out multi-user update to two Galaxy Tab 3 tablets

Galaxy Tab 3 multi user

Galaxy Tab 3 multi userSamsung will apparently roll out the Android 4.2 Multi User update to the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Although these tablets run Android 4.2 out of the box, they don’t feature this stock Android feature which Google introduced for tablets with the Nexus 10 last year. It is not known yet if this update will bump the Android version to Android 4.3.

It’s great to see the multi user update making its way to the two tablets as such devices are usually shared between family members or friends. The revelation comes from Sam Mobile which has accessed a couple of screenshots revealing the new addition. Surprisingly, Samsung seems to have left out the 7 inch Galaxy Tab 3 tablet from this update.

The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 comes with a 8 inch 1280×800 resolution display, a dual core Exynos 4212 chip with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, a 5MP camera, a 1.3MP front camera, 1.5GB of RAM and a 4,450 mAh battery. The bigger Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 also comes with a resolution of 1280×800, a dual core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 chip on board along with 1GB of RAM, a 3.15MP camera on the back and a bigger 6,800 mAh battery. Several retail outlets in the U.S. sell the Galaxy Tab 3 series of tablets with prices starting from $199 for the 7 inch variant. LTE variants of the tablet cost substantially more.

AT&T launches Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 LTE for $299.99

Galaxy Tab 3

Galaxy Tab 3

AT&T has now begun selling the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, which is the newest iteration of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series. This one however comes with support for AT&T’s blazing fast LTE network and can be snatched up for $299.99 with a two year contract or $399.99 without contract. The tablet can also be bought through the AT&T Next plan for $20 a month. The Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab 3 costs about $175 through third party retailers like Amazon, so the user is paying a premium merely for the LTE chip inside.

The AT&T Galaxy Tab 3 packs a 7 inch 1024×600 resolution display, a 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 dual core chip, 1.5GB of RAM, a 3.15MP camera on the back, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, Android 4.2.2 and a 4,000 mAh battery. The tablet isn’t a high end device by any means, but fits in nicely among AT&T’s lineup as a budget tablet.

Specs of Galaxy Ace 3 Smartphone and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Tablet Leak

Samsung’s Premier event scheduled for next month is a much anticipated event, especially among dedicated Samsung fans who expect the company to reveal new devices and technology that will change their daily lives.  I am one of those dedicate fans who are keeping their fingers crossed, wondering and speculating what may be in store for us this time.  We have already heard rumors of new devices that the company will unveil including Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3 and a Galaxy Ace 3 smartphone.  At the moment, all we have are speculations and rumors especially on the specs of these new devices.

Samsung Premiere

Earlier today, a rumor surfaced that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 may pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (read the story here) and another rumor hints at the possible specs of the Galaxy Ace 3 smartphone and the Galaxy Tab 3 tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Most people will put focus on the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 phablet but this does not mean speculations on the specs of the Samsung’s next mid-range smartphone will go unnoticed.  The predecessor of the Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy Ace 2, was a 3.8 inch mid-range smartphone packing a NovaThor U8500 dual core processor and 768 MB RAM and 4 GB ROM.

Samsung, it seems, is upping the specs of mid-range phones as the Galaxy Ace 3 is rumored to come with quite a modest yet impressive dual core 1 GHz processor, 1 GB or RAM and the same amount of ROM as its predecessor Ace 2 of 4 GB.  The good thing with Samsung smartphones is that they always have a microSD card slot and the Ace 3 will be no exception.  This phone seems to target first time smartphone or first time Android users who want a cheap yet decent smartphone to get a feel of it before considering an upgrade.

The Ace 3 also has an improved screen of 4 inches up from 3.8 inches but it will have the same 480 x 800 pixels resolution as Galaxy Ace 2.  The handset will also have dual cameras of 0.3 and 5 megapixels (front and rear respectively) and the same 1,500 mAh battery that Galaxy Ace 2 comes with.  Where we expect to see a lot of improvements though is operating system as the new phone will most likely come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but we can hope for 4.3 if it is launched late this year.  What makes the Ace 3 appealing to most users is that it measures just 121.2 x 62.7 mm and is only 9.8 mm thin, making it easily fit the pocket.

Galaxy Tab 3

Galaxy Tab 2 was a 7 inch tablet with decent specs (even high end at that time) released in April 2012.  Its successor, Tab 3, is rumored to have a dual core 1.6 GHz Intel Z2560 processor which is quite surprising because no one would have expected that Samsung would have an Intel chipset in their devices, especially not an Android tablet.  It is also rumored that the tablet will have 1 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB onboard memory, a 13 megapixels rear and 3 megapixels front cameras and will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

What is not clear though is whether the 10.1 inch Tab 3 will have a full HD display unlike the rumored 8 incher Tab 3 variant which is said to have a screen resolution of 1280 x 700 pixels.  We do not know either whether this new tablet will have both 3G and Wi-Fi support like Tab 2 or there will be variants for 3G and Wi-Fi and others for Wi-Fi only.  The rumor that I base this post though tells us that the tablet will measure 243.1 x 176.1 mm, 7.95 mm thick and will weigh 510 grams.  It will supposedly come with a 6800 mAh battery too.

If these rumors are true, then these two devices will just be minor improvements from their predecessors and are unlikely to bring any new technologies such as the rumored optical zoom capable camera that may come with Galaxy Note 3.  The rumors also indicate that Samsung may be launching these two devices during the 2013 Samsung Premiere Event on 20th next month.
