Galaxy S8 Cannot Make Or Receive Calls

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S8 is unable to make or receive calls. Internet is working fine. Everything else is working fine. Even SMS is working. Only calls won’t go through. I checked and no call blocking is active on the phone. Performed a factory reset as well, still persists. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and no call blocking is active then the problem is most likely caused by an issue with the SIM card or your account. You should try replacing the SIM card with a new one then check if this issue still occurs. It’s also best to contact your carrier regarding this matter.

Galaxy S8 Automatically Answering Phone Calls

Problem: Samsung S8 I have no idea what operating system Good afternoon, For the past month or more my phone has been randomly answering phone calls with the speakerphone enabled. This has been quite distressing as I am a therapist and during a session we will randomly hear someone on speakerphone from my phone. I don’t hear the ringing of the phone as I put it on silent. I’ve checked a few things and here is some more info. My bluetooth is never enabled when this happens. I also went to the phone setting and the option for automatically answering when bluetooth or headphone present has always been turned off. Any help fixing g this problem would be wonderful! Thank you!

Solution: The first thing you will want to do in this case is to make sure that the automatic answering setting of the phone is not enabled.

  • Turn off the Bluetooth switch
  • Go to settings and then select accessibility.
  • Next select answering and ending calls and then make sure that  Automatic answering is off.

If the problem persists then try checking if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Galaxy S8 Shuts Down When Receiving Or Making Calls

Problem: Hello, Recently a friend gave me a used Samsung Galaxy S8 that had been barely used. I bought a SIM card, installed it, and had my service transferred over. My provider said I had to have the SIM card. At first the phone worked great but after a few weeks it began to lose power quickly. Once I charged it seemed okay. After a few more days it began to shut itself off. A call or text would come in and it would shut down. I would reboot and it would turn on then immediately shut itself off again. The only way I can keep it operating is to keep it on the charger. That is only good for calls and text. If I try to connect to email it shuts down while on the charger.

Solution: It looks like the battery of the phone is already faulty. To check if this is the case you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider having the battery of your phone replaced at a service center.

Galaxy S8 Emergency Calls Only Error

Problem: I have an Samsung S8. It keeps jumping into “Emergency calls only” (although it isn’t in there) and won’t let me place phone calls. What can I do to stop this or how can I disconnect this feature? It is very hard to get it to stop once it is in there.  Thank you so much. I am learning a lot from your site.

Solution: Are you in an area that has a good signal reception? Try going to a different area to check if this is a reception related problem. In case the issue still occurs even if you are in a different area then try removing the SIM card from your phone then insert it again. You should also try to get a new SIM and insert it in your phone. This way you can easily eliminate any SIM or account related problems.

If this doesn’t work then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
