[Deal] Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 for $269.99

Galaxy Mega 6.3

The #Samsung #GalaxyMega6.3 can now be snatched up for just $269.99 thanks to a deal over at eBay. The handset is a very decent offering given the cost and comes with one of the largest smartphone displays we’ve seen from Samsung (not counting the 7 inch tablets with calling functionality). The phablet might not be the newest kid on the block, but it’s a fair value for the price.

The handset is available unlocked and off-contract, so you’re free to pick the carrier of your choice once you purchase the handset. It is 4G LTE compatible as well, but your choices are limited to GSM carriers of the U.S. such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk and the likes.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with a massive 6.3-inch 720p display, a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 16GB of expandable storage, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.9-megapixel front camera, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a 3,200 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 on T-Mobile getting the Android 4.4.4 update

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

The T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 handset is now receiving the Android 4.4.4 update with some bug fixes and performance enhancements in tow. The update should make its way to devices through an OTA update relatively soon, but users can also try hitting the Settings menu to see if the update is available.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega series is widely popular in developing regions, although it hasn’t quite caught on in regions like the U.S. The sheer size of the device puts doubt in the customers’ minds about this being a portable device. However, the extra screen real estate also means that users can get a lot more work done with the device.

If you own a Galaxy Mega 6.3 from T-Mobile, make sure you’re on the lookout for this particular update. In all likelihood, this should remain a bug fixing patch which resolves the OpenSSL related vulnerability that was left open with Android 4.4.3. And we wouldn’t put it past Samsung to surprise us with a new feature or two.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 launching on MetroPCS this Monday

Galaxy Mega 6.3

Galaxy Mega 6.3Earlier in October, we saw the MetroPCS bound Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 leak out. This mega sized smartphone finally has an arrival date on the carrier, thanks to a direct confirmation from the carrier. Interested buyers can expect the smartphone in MetroPCS stores by November 25 which is this coming Monday. The smartphone will be sold off contract with MetroPCS’ qualifying plans including 4G LTE (via T-Mobile). Pricing has been set at $399.99, but users will receive a rebate of $50, bringing the price down to $349.99.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has been available in the U.S. through Sprint, AT&T and U.S. Cellular so far, and it’s good to see MetroPCS joining that list as well. With promotions and a number of deals, carriers can hope to sell a large number of midrange smartphones like these which will appeal to phablet enthusiasts (or tablet lovers).

The smartphone is gargantuan in size as it packs a 6.3 inch 720p display and packs a decent specs sheet too. The smartphone has an 8MP camera on the back, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 for Sprint leaked out

Galaxy Mega 6.3 Sprint

Galaxy Mega 6.3 Sprint

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will apparently make its way towards Sprint according to another revelation by Evleaks on Twitter. The leak shows the White variant of the smartphone without any carrier branding, which is good news. We recently saw the MetroPCS branded Galaxy Mega 6.3 leaking out, while the AT&T variant has been available since August. We’re not given an approximate time of arrival for the smartphone, but it’s safe to assume with the amount of leaks so far that the day isn’t far away.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes in a big package for an affordable price tag and has been widely successful in several markets of Asia and Europe. Going by the pricing set by other carriers so far, the handset shouldn’t cost more than $100-$150 on contract through Sprint. The image also reveals the presence of 4G LTE, which is a relief as well. The smartphone packs a 6.3 inch 720p display, a dual core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, an 8MP camera on the back, 1.5GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot and a 3,200 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 heading towards MetroPCS

Galaxy Mega 6.3

Galaxy Mega 6.3

A new leak has revealed the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 on MetroPCS. TmoNews has accessed an image which shows the Galaxy Mega 6.3 with the MetroPCS boot screen, confirming its arrival on the carrier. Rumors suggest that the smartphone will be launched slightly before the holiday season. This is Samsung’s largest smartphone in the market right now and it’s good to know that it is making its way towards smaller carriers like MetroPCS. The smartphone isn’t high end by any means and the only attractive (or unattractive) aspect of the handset is its size.

The smartphone packs a 6.3 inch 720p display, an 8MP camera, a 1.9MP front camera, a dual core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 400 chip, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), 1.5GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and a 3,200 mAh battery. TmoNews claims that the smartphone will feature a MetroPCS customized firmware and will be SIM locked to the carrier as well. Pricing is expected to be cheap as it isn’t a high end product. There’s no word on whether this variant will support LTE through T-Mobile’s networks, but it mostly likely should.

Almost a month ago, U.S. Cellular launched the Galaxy Mega 6.3 on its network while AT&T got it back in August, so the smartphone is quickly becoming one of the hottest midrange smartphones out there.

U.S. Cellular launching Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 tomorrow

Galaxy Mega 6.3

Galaxy Mega 6.3U.S. Cellular will launch the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 through its online store beginning from tomorrow, with store availability slated to begin from September 19. The carrier is charging $149.99 for the smartphone on contract with an instant rebate. U.S. Cellular will only sell the black variant for the time being with no mention of the White variant yet. Samsung announced a new purple variant of the smartphone earlier today.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is not your conventional smartphone, so make sure you do your research before thinking of buying the product. Featuring a mammoth 6.3 inch 720p display, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a true phablet. We’ve seen the Sony Xperia Z Ultra which also comes in a similar size, but with relatively better internals. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a true midrange smartphone with a dual core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 400 chip, an 8MP camera on the back, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and a 3,200 mAh battery. The smartphone hit AT&T in late August for $149.99, making U.S. Cellular the second carrier to launch the smartphone, with Sprint slated to get it soon.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will hit multiple American carriers this month

Galaxy Mega 2

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 phablet will officially arrive in the U.S. later this month according to a new press release. The AT&T version of the smartphone was leaked yesterday, revealing very little about launch. But now we have confirmation coming through that the smartphone will launch on Sprint and U.S. Cellular in addition to AT&T, later this month. However, launch dates could differ as it is carrier dependent. The smartphone will be launched in Polaris White and Nova Black color variants. AT&T will sell the device for $149.99 on a two year contract or $24 per month through AT&T Next.

There’s not much to differentiate this with the global variant, as it packs pretty much the same hardware. As a refresher, it packs a 6.3 inch 720p display, 1.5GB of RAM, a 1.7 GHz dual core processor, 8MP camera on the back, a 1.9MP front camera, Android 4.2.2 and a 3,200 mAh battery. The smartphone is a sliver smaller than the Xperia Z Ultra, which packs a 6.4 inch 1080p display.
