T-Mobile’s Uncarrier X May Be Called BingeOn And Involve Video Streaming Services

T-Mobile Uncarrier 10

Evan Blass, more commonly known as Evleaks on Twitter, has had an excellent track record over the last few years when it comes to rumors about phones and carriers. And now, he might have revealed what T-Mobile’s upcoming Uncarrier X event and service might be.

This leak actually came because the CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere, was mentioning that since the Uncarrier X event had been announced last week, rumors were flying. That led Evleaks to respond with a theory of his own.

The best part about this though is the response to that tweet John Legere had. Instead of just ignoring it or attacking Evleaks, which has happened in the past, he openly acknowledged the tweet and even invited Evan to the event on November 10th to see if his theory is true.

Knowing Evan’s track record however, it’s very probably that he’s correct. And with this move, it’ll be interesting to see how T-Mobile integrates the streaming services into the plan and if they might even be data exempt in some situations, similar to music streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, and many others. It looks, that way again, though, from more tweets before Evan’s interaction with John Legere.

So we only have about a week and a half until we find out if this is the truth or not. Are any of you T-Mobile customers and interested in this type of feature?

Evleaks announces retirement from leaking mobile devices

@evleaks_logo

“All good things must come to an end. Thank you for an amazing two years.” Those are the words chosen by the tech industry’s most prolific and infamous leakster @evleaks to announce his retirement, a move that has taken quite a few folks by surprise. Originally an anonymous account, evleaks outed himself as Evan Blass, a former editor at Engadget and Pocket Now, and has been leaking images and details of future products from various companies. LG V510 leaked as new Nexus tablet

LG V510

The LG V510 has once again surfaced in a leak. This time, the information comes from @evleaks, who posted a tip that he received that the same device will be an upcoming Nexus device, along with a screenshot bearing the name of the device.

LG V510
LG V510

LG V510 specifications

It may be recalled that earlier this month, the LG V510 was spotted in a leaked service manual. Such manual revealed some of the device’s specifications, including an 8.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 4600 mAh battery, a 5 MP camera, and 2GB of RAM. Its measurements are said to be 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3mm. It is worth mentioning that a concept render of a Nexus 8 tablet circulated in the tech community earlier this year, but its features, save for the resolution of the display, do not match the ones provided by this leak.

Meanwhile, Phonearena notes that the word “Nexus” does not appear on the service manual nor on the images of the device in the same document. This absence of the Nexus branding on the leaked manual, says Phonearena, could mean that the LG V510 is a mere variant of the LG G Pad 8.3, and not an upcoming Nexus device.

Rumor history

The service manual, however, is not the first time that the name LG V510 came up. Even before the service manual was leaked, the name LG V510 appeared on a Bluetooth certification website in late October. Back then, speculation about whether the device was a variant of the LG G Pad 8.3 or the Nexus 8 was already heating up. It was pointed out that it was unlikely for Google to release an 8-inch tablet, given that it already has a 7-inch device. Still, around that time, a mystery 8-inch tablet with thin bezels that has a similar appearance with the LG G Pad 8.3 was spotted at Google’s website, once again fuelling the Nexus 8 rumor.

At any rate, these conflicting speculations about whether or not the LG V510 is an upcoming Nexus device, or whether there would even be a Nexus 8 in the future, serve to make the conversation (and possibly the wait) more exciting.

ASUS Padfone Mini images surface

ASUS Padfone Mini image

ASUS Padfone Mini image renders have made their way online, thanks to famous tipster @evleaks. Rumors of the device have been circulating for the past couple of months, but so far no detailed renders have been posted, prior to these ones that @evleaks uploaded.

The images show the 4.3-inch smartphone as well as its 7-inch tablet dock. Both the front and rear sides of the device are pictured, making it clear how the handset slides right into a slot on the tablet in a portrait orientation.

The leaked renders do not include any specifications, but earlier rumors have suggested that the smartphone of the ASUS Padfone Mini will have a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Meanwhile, the tablet will pack a display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Internally, the ASUS Padfone Mini is believed to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The images give consumers a preview of the device which is set to be unveiled on December 11th in Taiwan. Earlier, it had been rumored that ASUS will reveal the device in January, but the company apparently has sent invitations to the media for an earlier launch.

Meanwhile, there is no word about whether the ASUS Padfone Mini will make it to the United States. However, it would probably be best not to expect too much, as ASUS has not made any of the devices in its Padfone product line available globally. That said, ASUS may choose to do things differently this time, especially given that companies left and right have been releasing mini smartphones. Making the ASUS Padfone Mini available on a global scale may just be what the manufacturer needs to compete more effectively in international market.

Be sure to check this website on Wednesday for the official list of specifications and features of the ASUS Padfone Mini.

LG D820 may be an LG G2 variant and not the new Nexus 5

lg-nexus-5

lg-nexus-5

The LG Nexus 5 was spotted on Google’s KitKat 4.4 video reveal a few days ago, something that has caused quite a controversy, with some saying it may have been staged by Google – to tease the new smartphone.

Whatever the case, Google removed the video hours after and the idea is that the new smartphone is being internally tested, for a full release sometime before the end of November this year.

Evleaks has pitched in with some pretty disappointing news, saying the LG D820 FCC filing is actually an LG G2 US variant and not the new Nexus 5. Looking back, it does seem very similar to the LG G2 and we did say this could be an option.

Normally new Nexus devices slip in unnoticed, but with the current barrage by journalists and leakers sweeping through the FCC filings, we are likely to see a new specs sheet uploaded in the coming weeks, unless Google hides the information.

It seems we have almost settled one argument, who the manufacturer will be for the new Nexus device. All rumors and leaks now point to LG, with only two rogue announcements of Motorola taking over development for the new Nexus smartphone.

LG is set to add a larger sensor, improved internals and a new larger screen to the Nexus 5, fitting with the design of the LG G2. The device should come for the same price as the Nexus 4 (without the recent price drop) and should be on some US carriers.

Moto X press photos leaked

Press photos of the Moto X smartphone have been shared by Evan Blass of @evleaks, providing what could be our clearest look yet at the upcoming handset before its unveiling. Both the front and rear sides, both in black, are shown off in the photos.  They feature on-screen buttons and near-stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Shortly after its release, however, it is expected that an Android 4.3 update will be made available. It also appears like the smartphone will sport a rear casing made of Kevlar, a durable material that Motorola has used on several other handsets including the Motorola Droid Maxx, RAZR M, and RAZR I. Such rear casing seems to have a striped look, possibly indicating some texture .

moto-x-press-render

Plenty of photos supposedly showing the Moto X have been published before, including one in the hand of Google CEO Eric Schmidt himself in a recent event. However, none of the photos had been image renders of the smartphone. For the most part, consumers had been left guessing how the actual phone would appear when it arrives, especially because Google and Motorola will introduce many customization options.

The Moto X will be finally revealed on August 1 in a press event in New York, according to an official announcement from Google, putting an end to months of leaks and rumors.

Although the smartphone is believed to be pitted against flagship handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the HTC One, the phone makers allegedly did not include too many high-end specifications, and instead focused on bringing impressive features. This will allow Google and Motorola to sell the Moto X at a mid-range price.

Android Police claims to have sources that have confirmed the following specifications: a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro MSM8960DT CPU, Adreno 320 GPU, 16 GB of internal storage space, of which only 12 GB will be available to the user, 2 GB of RAM, a 10.5 MP rear-facing camera, a 2.1 MP front-facing camera, and a 4.7-inch display (or 4.5-inch, without including the on-screen buttons) with a resolution of 720 x 1184 pixels. Furthermore, the smartphone is said to have a18-19K AnTuTu score and 7100 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme score.

The Verge was also able to obtain a list of specifications that mentions a 1500mAh battery, an autoHDR camera mode, support for a wrist flick gesture to launch the camera, an always-on listening feature, and a removable Kevlar rear casing.

We will keep you updated with more Moto X information as the launch date approaches.

[Rumor] LG G2 To Come with Edge-To-Edge 1080p Display, Buttons at The Back

LG’s next flagship smartphone model which will succeed the Optimus G is the Optimus G2. The company together with Qualcomm announced that the next flagship device will be running on the Snapdragon 800 chip however they did not refer to the device as the G2. While information surrounding this upcoming model is scarce a few credible rumors are spreading about its possible specs and features.

lg g2

We all know that the company will be hosting an event this coming August 7 which is to be held in New York. This is most likely going to be the company’s official announcement of the G2 as well as the rest of their lineup for 2013. The South Korean market will however get the chance to try out the G2 first as it is said to become available as early as July before spreading out to other markets.

So what do we know of the Optimus G2 so far? While no official specifications have been released by the company yet we’ve listed some of its rumored specs below.

  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3 GHz processor
  • Adreno 330 GPU
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 32GB of storage
  • 13 megapixel camera

Twitter account @evleaks has also just leaked a photo of what appears to be the G2 with a 5 inch edge-to-edge 1080p display. The device has an extremely slim bezel making it difficult to place physical buttons at the front. The capacitive and home screen buttons are now located on-screen while the other buttons will be placed at the back of the device. These buttons may include the power button and the volume rocker key.

Even if the specs are purely rumors right now they are pretty impressive. Several sources say that this is going to be the best smartphone that LG has produced so far.

We will get to know everything about this device this coming August 7 when it gets announced. Stay tuned on our coverage of this event.

Rumor: Verizon to release limited-edition Galaxy S4

A limited-edition version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones will be arriving on Verizon, according to a post by famous leak source @evleaks.

verizon-limited-edition-galaxy-s4

Attached with the information is an image of a web page which bears the tag line, “a phone that’s as limited edition as you are.”

From the image, it appears that the upcoming version of the handset will sport designs by Kidrobot, a company which hires various artists to make designs for toys, clothes, and accessories.

It is unclear whether the custom designs are printed on the rear plate itself or simply attached via a skin.

Four designs are visible from the screenshot, which are Kronk, Mad, Buff Monster, and Groening. There is also an option to choose from among four brands, Kawks, Undftd, Krinks, and Kidrobot.

Supposedly, users are allowed to “design [one’s] own wallpaper,” as per the leaked image. Collaboration is also encouraged by the same image.

The leak suggests that the limited-edition Samsung Galaxy S4 from Verizon will permit smartphone owners to customize their own handsets. As to how much freedom they will be given, however, is still unknown.

Will users be able to create their own designs from scratch? Will they be able to share their designs with the Verizon community? Will there be some sort of contest that will inspire users to compete against each other in making creative designs?

As for the smartphone itself, the so-called limited-edition smartphone is expected to have the same technical specifications as the regular Galaxy S4 that is out in the market. In other words, it may also sport Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor under the hood.

The leak does not include any information regarding the price or the date of availability of the customized smartphone.

Motorola Moto X smartphone specs leak; includes 1.7GHz processor, Android 4.2.2, 720p display

The purported technical specifications of the Motorola Moto X smartphone have been posted by @evleaks, a frequent source of information about unreleased devices.

motorola-moto-x

According to the post, the handset will sport a 720p touchscreen display, a 1.7GHz dual-core MSM8960 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and lastly, dual cameras, including a rear-facing one with a 10 MP sensor, complemented by a 2 MP front-facing camera. Such post leaves out information about the battery, the measurement of the screen, and the connectivity options, among others.

Judging from these specifications, it appears that the Motorola Moto X will be aimed at the mid-range segment. That said, Motorola’s statement a few weeks ago stated that the device is deemed as a competitor against the Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the Apple iPhone. Given these specifications, however, it is quite difficult to imagine how Motorola will manage such feat. Granted, the full list of features is not yet available, which means that Motorola may still provide consumers with some surprises, such as a good battery, or even an attractive price tag.

It bears mentioning, as well, that the leaked list of specifications is unofficial, and like all leaks, should be taken with a grain of salt.

Previously, rumors suggested that the X Phone would have an NVIDIA Tegra 4i processor, 16 MP rear-facing camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 4.7-inch full HD display. It was also believed to come in different colors.

Motorola just a few weeks ago already confirmed the existence of the Motorola Moto X smartphone, which was earlier rumored to be called the Google X Phone.

Motorola’s Dennis Woodside, speaking at the D11 Conference, revealed that the Moto X will be assembled near Fort Worth, Texas. This would make the device the first smartphone to be built in the United States. He furthermore noted that that its internal parts will come from Taiwan, Korea, as well as twelve American states. Woodside also boasted about the device’s so-called contextual awareness through its sensors, which will give the device an edge over others.

New HTC One (M7) Photo Leaked At Twitter

A new photo of the upcoming HTC One (formerly known as M7) has been posted over at twitter by Evleaks.  The new photo looks quite similar to the first ever image of the device that was leaked which further gives validity to it. Since nothing is official yet, this could just be fake or it could be a real image of a different model altogether.

New HTC One (M7) Photo Leaked At Twitter

HTC is expected to make the official debut of the HTC One (M7) this coming February 19 in New York City ahead of the MWC expo. The other models expected to be revealed will be the M4 and G2.

Based on the leaked image we could see striking similarities in terms of physical design between the M7 and the BlackBerry Z10 or even the iPhone 5. The user interface however looks to be a revamped version of the HTC Sense.

So what do we know about this upcoming model so far? Below are its rumored hardware specs.

New HTC One (M7) Specifications

  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • Full HD 4.7-inch SoLux display (468 ppi)
  • 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal flash storage
  • 13MP rear camera, f/2.0 lens 1080p video
  • 2MP front camera 1080p video
  • Beats Audio technology
  • 2300mAh battery

As usual since this is not official yet we should take everything with a grain of salt. The official announcement date is fast approaching so we may have solid facts regarding this device soon.

HTC had a tough year last 2012 due to strong competition from other Android manufacturers and even the iPhone. This year will be different though as the company plans to be more aggressive in selling their products.

Overconfidence might have played a big role as to why the company had a dismal 2012 as they ended 2011 strongly.

According to HTC CEO Peter Chou “Our competitors were too strong and very resourceful, pouring in lots of money into marketing. We haven’t done enough on the marketing front.”
