#Kyocera has unveiled the #DuraForcePro bearing a pretty rugged design and an industry first action camera on the back. The device comes with a regular camera on the back and a second sensor right next to it. The company also mentions that it has a wide view lens, making it capable of capturing a lot of character from its subjects.
The action camera is capable of functioning under any circumstances, including underwater. This is something that most water-resistant smartphones can’t do today. Although there’s no support for 4K video support, the addition of this feature alone makes the DuraForce Pro an interesting device.
This is the same device that was rumored to be launching via T-Mobile by Q4. Unfortunately, the company has been quiet about the handset’s pricing and carrier availability, but we should hear more on that front soon.
Barring the attractive action camera, the DuraForce Pro comes with a pretty attractive 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (expandable), an octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC, a 13-megapixel camera (accompanying the action camera), a 5-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and a 3,240 mAh battery.

The #Kyocera DuraForce series of devices have been moderately successful in the market thanks to their rugged nature and the true promise of durability. Well, it seems like we’re in for a new model in the lineup as per a leak by Techno Buffalo. What we’re seeing here is apparently the Kyocera DuraForce PRO that is bound to be released via T-Mobile later this year.
While it’s not known when exactly the phone will be launched, a rather vague Q4 2016 timeframe is being pitched. Now to talk about the device itself, it seems like Kyocera is aiming slightly higher this time as we can see a dual-camera setup on the back. The fingerprint scanner appears to be missing, though.
It is said that the back is equipped with a 13-megapixel sensor (one of them), while the front has a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies, apparently. The handset is also said to be packing a 3,420 mAh battery. This is pretty much everything we know about the handset right now. Of course, the DuraForce PRO will be water/dust resistant as well, which is a prerequisite to being called a rugged device. The exterior looks pretty solid as well. Pricing information is awaited, but we expect hints to drop by in the weeks to come.
