San Diego-CA Ben Vu one of the founders of SkyVu, the creators of the Battle Bears franchise, is showing off the Battle Bears at ComicCon 2011. Not only that but Vu had an exciting announcement.

SkyVu is partnering with FunMobility and their FunChat platform to debut new avatars and themes for FunChat surrounded by the highly popular Battle Bears. Don’t let these cuddly bears full you because in Battle Bears 1 and Battle Bears Zombies they are packed to the hilt with the heaviest artillery.  You’d think the Battle Bears were brought up on some compound in no mans land.

TDG LIVE: ComicCon 2011: Mimoco Debuts MimoBlotz Hello Kitty Blind Box USB Flash Drives

Mimoco is the company that’s merging the latest from the pop art world with the functionality of USB flash drives with their collectible MimoBots.  A Mimobot is a USB flash drive designed to look like our favorite pop art characters.

Based on your favorite Star Wars, Transformers, Anime and Comic Book characters, Mimobots puts a really fun twist on traditional removable storage. Not only that but since their introduction in 2005 Mimobots have been a highly collectible staple of the uber chic geek.  Well in addition to CES, CE Week NY and other consumer electronics shows, they find themselves smack dab at the heart of ComicCon this year.

Find The Android Beanies At ComicCon 2011 And Win!!!

Thedroidguy staff has taken to the streets of San Diego, California and the San Diego Convention Center for ComicCon 2011.  As you probably know ComicCon in San Diego is the largest comic and popular arts convention in the world.  It’s also the largest collection of geeks and geekettes on earth and we’re there in the thick of it, not to take a vacation but to work to bring you everything going on from ComicCon 2011.

As you probably know the Android Beanie’s, available exclusively from, have kind of became our trademark over the last year.  They’ve been to Barelona, London, Seoul, Germany, California, Texas, New York, Florida and many many more places representing Android fans throughout the world. We even got Carly from T-Mobile to wear it.  ComicCon 2011 will be no different.

So if you’re headed out to ComicCon here’s a real easy contest for you.  If you spot an Android Beanie (and it doesn’t have to be on a TDG Staffers head) snap a picture of the beanie and post it to twitter. Make sure you include @thedroidguy @androidbeanie and @androidswag in the tweet, and you could win one of four $25 gift certificates to  A random winner from each day’s pics will be chosen at the end of the day (10pm Pacific Time).

Just In Time For ComicCon, ComiXology Brings DC Comics To Android

ComicCon 2011 starts tomorrow night in San Diego, and just in time for it ComiXology has brought some of your favorite DC Comics to the Android Screen in a new Android app.

DC Comics has teamed up with Comixology to bring you an app that pulls from an online catalog of DC Comics titles.  The ComiXology app gives you access to over 3,000 issues with varying price ranges from $.99 to $2.99 and each issue can be paid for almost effortlessly via Android’s in-app purchasing feature.

Comic lovers from across the universe are converging on San Diego California starting tomorrow evening for the biggest comic book and general geekery convention of 2011.  We’ll be on site with several cool contests.
