Comex leaves Apple and might not jailbreak iOS 6

The very popular iOS jailbreaker and cracker, Comex, whose real name is Nicholas Allegra, was selected for internship at Apple by Apple itself. Comex was a very popular cracker in the jailbreak world, one of the most prominent jailbreakers. The jailbreaker is now out of the company for not replying to an email from the Cupertino tech giant.

Apple hired Nicholas Allegra for the sole purpose of making jailbreaking a bit harder than it actually was. Most people think that there is no proper jailbreak solution for the company’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 6, only because Comex is not working on it. Now that the jailbreaker is officially not a part of the Cupertino tech giant, he will get back to finding a solution to jailbreak the latest operating system. But it turns out, that is never going to happen.

Nicholas Allegra tweeted on his timeline that he is not a part of the company anymore, saying, “So… no point in delaying. As of last week, after about a year, I’m no longer associated with Apple.” And as already stated, the reason is simply that he did not reply to an email. You may think Apple was a bit cruel to send him home only for such a small reason. But that is not so.

The Cupertino tech giant actually asked Nicholas Allegra whether he wanted to continue working at Apple now that his tenure as an intern was over, and the company asked this through an email. But Nicholas Allegra never replied to that email. So soon after that, the company sent another email saying that he is off the company. He said in another tweet, “Because I forgot to reply to an email.”

Venture Beat writes:

Stories like this always more complicated than they first appear, of course. Talking to Forbes, Allegra admits that there were other factors that led to his leaving Apple, but he was smart enough to leave those details to himself.

Allegra’s next plan, he says, is to continue his studies at Brown University, and not take revenge on Apple by cracking iOS  6 (as many hackers would have liked). But there’s probably more to this decision as well, as Allegra was likely legally bound to refrain from jailbreaking future Apple products anyway.
