On more than one occasion the godfather of Android, Andy Rubin, has made it seem like Android appeals first to a tech savvy, developer type. In fact Google insiders have told us that originally back in the G1 days everything was done from a developer/engineer perspective. With the widespread Android assault though things have changed and Android is becoming even more mainstream than Rubin’s first effort the Danger Hiptop/T-Mobile Sidekick.
More and more people are resorting to Android phones as their smartphone of choice and while the demographics have skewed a bit younger than say Blackberry, they’ve definitely caught the eye of two financial powerhouses in Charles Schwab and American Express.
