Official Nexus 5 bumper case gets a minor refresh with new buttons

Nexus 5 Bumper Changes

Nexus 5 Bumper Changes

The official Nexus 5 bumper case has now received a small update according to a new revelation. These cases while very pretty on the eye, suffered from a problem which didn’t allow users to press the volume or power buttons at the right angle. The alignment of the buttons appeared to be the problem and Google has now fixed this by offering slightly thicker buttons.

As you can see from the image above (courtesy of Droid-Life), the grey bumper is the new one with the thicker button while the yellow case is the older skinnier version with slightly misplaced buttons. Google hasn’t made a formal announcement about these changes, but the fact that it has revamped the design comes as an acknowledgment of the issue. At $35 each, these cases aren’t very cheap. So it will be interesting to see if Google will offer some sort of a replacement plan for early customers of the case. Either way, it’s very commendable that Google has decided to make these changes without making a big deal about it.

Head over to the source link below if you’re looking to get the new case for yourself. However, it is being reported that yellow cases are still shipping with the old button layout while the red, grey and black bumpers are coming with the changed buttons, so make sure you keep that in mind if you’re getting one.

Nexus 4 Bumpers Now Available In The U.S. Play Store

Lucky owners of the coveted Nexus 4: you don’t really want to cover that slick design with a clunky case do you? I wouldn’t either, albeit you may still want something to protect your new Nexus 4 from harm. Good news, as the official bumper for the Nexus 4 is available in the Play Store in the United States. It’s been out of stock for quite some time now, but you can pick one up for $19.99 now. Customers will be happy to hear that there is only a 3 – 5 business day shipping time as well!

This bumper protects the sides of the Nexus 4 by covering them up. That way you can keep your device protected and also show-off you shiny new device to the world. Granted, that is on the basis that you have a shiny new Nexus 4 unlike a lot of us. The bumper also raises it a bit off of its surface to refrain from the glass backing getting any sort of scratches (which was a great idea, I might add). Make sure to head on over to the Play Store before they run out of stock again. Albeit, I assume that they would have a whole lot more to sell this time around.

Make sure to hit the Play Store source link below to go and grab your own Nexus 4 bumper!
