T-Mobile Stands Up For Samsung As Well

Earlier this week Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., publicly stood up for Samsung in regards to pending Apple and Samsung litigation.  Today, T-Mobile has joined Verizon Wireless in support of Samsung.

T-Mobile said  “At this late date, T-Mobile could not find comparable replacement products for the 2011 holiday season,” according to Reuters. Currently, Apple and Samsung are suing each other all over the world including the United States.  Apple is seeking an injunction against the import of Samsung’s Galaxy line of devices both phones and tablets. This could potentially affect the holiday seasons of all four major US carriers who all sell Samsung’s Galaxy line of products.

More after the break
T-Mobile just announced yesterday that they would start carrying Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet with HSPA+ “4G’ for the T-Mobile 4G network.  They also announced earlier in the week that they would be carrying the Samsung Galaxy S II phone beginning October 12th.

Despite standing up for Samsung today, T-Mobile made a big deal of practically begging Apple to resume discussions about carrying the iPhone at T-Mobile USA.  T-Mobile has the iPhone in other parts of the world.  While nothing may come out publicly about it, Apple can’t be too happy with T-Mobile’s new position in support of Samsung.

T-Mobile gave a statement to allthingsd in regards to the Apple vs. Samsung matter:

“While T-Mobile respects intellectual property rights and believes that owners of intellectual property deserve the right to present their arguments and evidence of infringement in court, a preliminary injunction is a drastic and extraordinary measure, and the courts should pay particular attention to its public consequences,”
