Sprint Unveils Preorder Site For HTC Evo 4G LTE, Pre-Order May 7

Now that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is officially out of the gate, Sprint has opened up preorders for the HTC Evo 4G LTE. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two years since the original HTC Evo 4G debuted. That was the first “4G” Android device as well as the first “4G” smartphone.

The HTC Evo 4G was the first Android powered smartphone to grace Sprint’s WiMax network known as 4G at the time. Now Sprint has stepped it up and gotten in pace with Verizon Wireless and AT&T and they will begin offering 4G/LTE service sometime in June. When they released the HTC Evo 4G it became the best selling Android phone of all time. Depending on who you talk to (as long as they’re not in Basking Ridge NJ), the HTC Evo 4G outsold the original Motorola Droid.

HTC and Sprint tried to carry the Evo tradition through a couple of other devices but none mustered up the excitement and sales of the HTC Evo 4G. There was the HTC Evo Shift 4G, The HTC Evo 3D, The HTC Evo Design 4G (which I liked) and the HTC Evo View 4G (tablet).

More after the break

It looks like the HTC Evo 4G LTE will be the first legitimate replacement for the HTC Evo 4G. Sprint seems to think the same thing as the ask you to “Fall in love all over again”.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE packs a 4.7″ HD 720p Super LCD display, 1.5ghz dual core processor, 8.0 MP rear facing shooter, 1.3mp front facing camera, and of course Android 4.0. It also features NFC and is the first HTC device to offer Google Wallet.

If you want to preorder the Sprint pre-order page goes live on May 7th
