This is the latest flagship model of the South Korean company which was released early this year. It has a similar design to the S8 however it has the advantage of upgraded hardware components. Although this is a solid performing device there are still instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S9 disconnects from security camera system issue and other related problems.

S9 Disconnects From Security Camera System
Problem: I have a Lux Pro home security camera system. The S9 will connect to the software when I am home via wifi but as soon as I go outside the wifi distance the phone disconnects. My wife does not have this problem with her iPhone. Is there any way to get the S9 to connect to the software via cell signal.
Solution: For this particular problem you will need to make sure that your phone has a strong mobile data signal ( LTE or 4G is preferred). You should also make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription. If you meet these requirements and you are still unable to connect to your security camera system using mobile data then try the following steps listed below.
- Restart your phone. This will refresh the phone software and will usually fix this problem.
- Uninstall the security software app from your phone then install an updated version from the Google Play Store.
- As a last resort, backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete download the security system app then check if you are able to connect to your camera using mobile data.
S9 Not Receiving Pictures From Social Apps After Software Update
Problem: I took a software upgrade yesterday. I am noticed now that none of my social apps are displaying pictures. I am told I was sent a picture multiple times this morning via text but it has been denied. I also received a message from snapchat. I looked at my notification and saw the picture but when I respond and look at the history there’s no pictures from the sender. Please help.
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to make sure that you have a strong Internet connection ( whether it’s Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) so that the apps can download the pictures to your phone. If the connection is not the problem then this is most likely caused by a software glitch caused by the update in which case you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Perform a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Once the phone restarts check if the issue still occurs.
- Make sure to update all of your phone apps. This can be done by opening the My Apps section of the Google Play Store.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9 Screen Becomes Black When Using Camera
Problem: Everytime I open up my camera (app that came with phone) it goes to a black screen. I lock the phone then unlock it, if still pulled up it will go back to black screen, I then push back button to back out of camera lock button, slide up and it is fine. This happens with snap chat, Instagram camera, some videos playing on Facebook, and some ads from games. I have done a reset, uninstalled and installed snapchat and problems still happens. Please help.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Stuck In Optimizing Apps After Software Update
Problem: hi i m having samsung galaxy S9. last night i start installing software updates.it was running as per procedure. but at the point of optimising app it is stopped from last 15 hours. it’s neither starting up no turning off.just showing ”optimising app 105 0f 105” from last 15 hours. any solution??????
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it is still stuck in optimizing apps then try starting the phone in Safe Mode then from here backup your phone data. Once you have made a backup of your phone data turn off the phone then start it in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow it up with a factory reset.
S9 Google Play Store Randomly Opens
Problem: For some reason, my Google play store opens up for no reason. The phone my not be in use, like all night long while I’m sleeping. But when I turn on the screen, let’s say to turn off my alarm, the play store launches to some game. In the past, I’ve uninstalled any new app that I’ve installed, but nothing changes.
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If you are having a hard time finding the app then you should consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
