S8+ Will Not Turn On
Problem: My phone won’t turn on at all. I didn’t realize until I woke up that the power bar the phone was plugged into was turned off and my phone probably ran out of battery overnight. After I turned the power bar back on and wait a few minutes, my phone won’t turn on and then I switched to using the usb cord and still the phone won’t turn on. I then cleaned and got some dust out of the usb-c connection on the phone. When the phone is plugged in again, this time it feels a little warm but it still won’t turn on. After about 1.5 hours, it became cool again so I unplugged the phone. After another couple hours, I tried press and hold the power button again and still got nothing out of the phone, the phone did feel warm to the touch though. Note, it is not just the black screen but no vibration from the plugging in or holding of the power button neither. To make the matter worst, I work at a remote mine site, I really can’t take my phone to get it checked by anyone until my shift is over in another few days. Thanks.
Related Problem: My galaxy s8 plus shuts down on its own and when I power it back up it shuts off immediately. When this first happened to me I got it into airplane mode and turned off cellular data right away and it didn’t shut off. It was fine for a while but has started doing it again and now it will not stay on no matter what I do.
Solution: For this particular issue try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case it doesn’t then try checking if this is a charging issue by letting your phone charge from a computer USB port. Check if the charging indicator is present. If it isn’t and the phone still gets warm then immediately disconnect the phone from the charger. The best thing to do right now is to have this checked at a service center as it could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8+ Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: My phone drop in water for few seconds. at that moment it worked normally. Then it turned off. I tried to turn it on by mistake and the screen get stuck on the password page (draw design). Then I shake it to remove water from the phone. Then it turned off completely. I remove liquid with tissue paper and let it dry on ventilator. Then I left it in a rice bowl 24h and my phone is still off. Do you think I can recover the phone? Do I need to seek advice to technician to repair? I need case of replacement; can I take back my photos/videos? Thank for your help.
Solution: Despite the fact that the phone is waterproof there is still a chance for the device to become water damaged which is most likely what is happening right now. Since you have already placed the phone in a bag of rice which does not work then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked. If the damaged component is easy to replace, such as the battery, then you will be able to recover your phone data.
S8+ Stuck In Optimizing Apps Screen
Problem: My phone ran out of battery so I charged it for a good hour. When I came back to boot it back up it did the same think it usually does accept the samsung logo loaded kind’ve laggy. After it passed the tmobile logo it came to a green screen. It said “Android is starting” and optimizing apps 0 – 100
Solution: Sometimes if you have a lot of apps installed in your phone this process may take a few minutes. In case it is stuck in this screen then you should start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your phone. Restart the device then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
