Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Not Charging After Software Update

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone that is quite compact despite the fact that it sports a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display. This is possible since it is designed with minimal bezels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. On the inside the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor or an Exynos 8895 processor combined with 4GB of RAM to make apps run smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues an occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 not charging after software update issue and other related problems.

S8 Not Charging After Software Update

Problem: Did a software update and from then the phone refused to charge and after a soft and hard reset the phone displays a charging symbol but has now run down to zero and still wont charge and does not switch on.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone making sure that any dirt or debris is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port, If you have a wireless charger available then I suggest that you also use this to charge your phone ( In case this works then it’s likely that the phone has a defective charging port).

In case the phone still refuses to charge at this point then you will need to bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: So i have s8 and i took it to pool to take pictures and at no time the screen went off and it doesn’t turn on anymore i have tried to dry it, kept it under rice for more than a week but still no response shown .i don’t know how i am going to solve this issue, if anyone know how to solve this so please help thanks!

Related Problem: So last night, I was on instagram and my phone charged out, so as normal I tried to charge it, At first I found my cable was broken, so I changed it to a new one, i tried to turn it on and it did, showing 0% but that the device was charging, i’d left it overnight and after trying to turn it on, it wont work, it takes me to the samsung logo screen, stating ‘Samsung S8’ and then back to a powered off phone. i did take my phone into the shower last night, so it would be possible if thats got something to do with it. Hope you can help.

Solution: It looks like water might have entered the phone and damaged some internal components. While this does not usually happen due to the water resistance feature of the phone it is still possible for the device to be water damaged especially if the rubber seals are broken. The best thing to do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done check if the problem still occurs and if it does you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S8 Not Turning On Unless Connected To Charger

Problem: Hello.. I’m using a samsung galaxy S8..i’m happy with this now the phone suddenly showing a problem. Turning off by itself. When i remove the charger..not boot looping.. it shut down completely. And I can’t turn it on unless I plug in the charger I switched it on with the assist of a charger. Then take the charger off. It all works well not until I opened up a game apps. The phone switched off. I tried it several times with other less communing stress app like YouTube. Facebook. Google. It works well for a few tries. Then after that I need a charger to always plug in to stay awake. If not , the phone will switch off. And can’t be turn on unless I plug the charger. I done the soft boot Safe boot Hard boot Format my phone to factory And it’s still the same I don’t want to waste money on buying a new phone , do I have to buy a new logic board? I hope I have the answer here. Thank you

Solution: This is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best thing to do right now so the exact component that is causing the problem can be detected is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Stuck In Bootloop After Software Update

Problem: recently I updated my Galaxy S8. but after installing updates it is stuck on the bootup screen (on samsung logo). I have tried to wipe off cache and also used recovery mode but nothing has helped me. eventually the battery drained out and I plugged in my device and it was charging fine then I tried to start my device again but nothing happened. I don’t want to lose my data so please Provide me a solution to revert my phone to original state. thanks

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then perform a factory reset in the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
