Note 8 Only Charges From Computer USB Port

Problem: hello..i am having charging issues with a note 8 will only charge with a USB  connection…I have tried several fast charging and regular charging chargers and several cables and several wall outlets with no luck…I have tried a wireless charger...I have done a soft reset….I have cleaned lint out of charging port….it will only charge with USB connector on a computer….also the battery after being  charged is draining much faster than ever before…my battery is not bulging or damaged…..any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Solution: Since you have already performed most of the troubleshooting steps recommended for this particular problem then it’s likely that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. I would usually say that the phone needs to have the charging port assembly replaced however since the problem also occurs when using a wireless charger then some other faulty component might be involved. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Randomly Turning Off

Problem: My samsung galaxy Note 8 has been exposed to sea water a year ago but there seems to be no effect on it at all. But recently, i noticed the bottom part of my screen turned light pinkish and the middle part is a darker light pinkish. Only the upper most part is white. It also randomly turns off and on, i noticed this when my phone is slightly tilted but i’m not so sure if its the cause.

Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to check if it is caused by a software glitch. First, start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out hwt app this is and uninstall it. In case the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

Note 8 Only Charges When Off

Problem: My wife’s phone will not charge if it is plugged in while turned on. I have to turn it off get it to show charging then I can turn back on and it will continue. We have same phone so have tried hers on both chargers with same results. Running Android pie same as mine. I am having no issues. The are both the 128GB models. Any thoughts? Thanks

Solution: For this particular issue you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done try charging the phone using a wall charger. If the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also consider doing a factory reset to eliminate the possibility of a software glitch causing this problem. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

Note 8 Has Black Screen

Problem: My samsung Note 8 was totally black out for two days up to now, i just left it charging for three hours, and i also used it calling my wife while charging. After i called i just leave it charging and i lay down on bed for a few minutes and when i get it it was totally black out. What will i do or the best way to restore its power? Not charging at all

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. In case the screen remains black then try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. Try a soft reset again.

You should also check if you are able to access the recovery mode then do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
