Note 8 Not Charging To 100%
Problem: My battery on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 won’t charge beyond 72 percent. Changed power bricks, USB cables, changed outlets and the phone never takes long to recognize the cable when plugged in and it’s not loose, so i don’t think the port is broken, but it’s just stuck. Restarted the phone and that didn’t help

Solution: The first thing you need to do right now is to isolate the charger you are using as this could be causing the problem. To do this you have to clean the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once this is done try charging the phone with a different charging cord and wall charger. If it still does not reach to 100% then it’s time to check if this is caused by a software glitch. Perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if you are able to completely charge the phone in this mode. In case the issue is fixed in this mode then an app you downloaded could be the culprit. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try charging the phone again.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s likely that the phone battery is faulty. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
Note 8 Does Not Charge
Problem: Hi, I’ve got an almost a year old Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Its been working good till now but one day is just went dead. It won’t charge at all. When I put it on charge, the LED indicator won’t illuminate at all. I’ve changed the charger and the charging cord but no luck. Can you please advise what else to try.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as dirt or debris stuck in this port could be preventing the phone from being charged. Once the port is clean try charging the phone using a wall charger as well as from a computer USB port. In case the phone still does not charge or turn on then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Gets Hot Freezes When Charging
Problem: Hey guys! I have a Note 8 , while I was using it the other day it became hot on the side where the chips were (under charge) the screen freeze a couple of times and the it blacked out just leaving the blue light on. No signs of life even under charge, until today that the led become red (in charge for 10 minutes) and connecting it via usb I was able also to see it in my PC (but no content shown). Don’t really know what to say, a guy from a shop suggested me to change the mainboard, but i thing that is more software than hardware. what do you think?
Solution: If your phone gets hot when you try to charge it then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The question right now is what component is causing this problem. Try eliminating the charger first by using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. You should make sure to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air first before you charge it.
In case the issue persists then we might be looking at a faulty charging port, battery, or even motherboard.
Note 8 Battery Drains Fast
Problem: Hi i have a samsung galaxy Note 8 and the problem is battery drain it drains fast, so i did factory reset, turned safe mode , stopped or uninstalled apps it’s still no use still drains fast. I did not make it to charge fully 100% . What should I do? Please i need help Thanks
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? Try removing this then check if the issue still occurs. If it does and since you have already performed a factory reset then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
