J7 Not Fast Charging After Getting Wet
Problem: I dropped my Samsung Galaxy j7 in the ocean but immediately removed it from water. I quickly wiped it with a towel I had handy. The phone did not turn off, which made me think my phone was ok. A few hours later when I got back to the hotel, my battery died on me (it was low at the beach, so I didn’t think too much of it). When I attempted to charge the phone through the regular charger, the charging symbol didn’t show up on the screen. I tried several plugs in the room and the result was the same. I went and bought a bag of rice and left the phone in it overnight. The next morning, I plugged in my phone and I noticed it was charging. However, after an hour of charging, it only reached 28%. It occurred to me that my phone is no longer fast charging. What do you think I should do? Thank you.
Solution: Since your phone came into contact with water, and this device does not have any water resistant feature, it looks like this problem is caused by water entering the phone and affecting one of the components. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Try charging the phone. In case the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have this checked at a service center as the phone might be suffering from water damage.
J7 Screen Went Blank
Problem: Hi My J7 galaxy went blank I tried to power up and got it to reboot briefly It went blank again. I pressed the power & volume buttons together It booted up and reboot a few times. It indicated to get in touch with At&t My provider is tmobile. I TRIED TO power up and the screen showed Samsung Galaxy J7 with a padlock symbol The phone did have charge but it eventually went blank.The phone battery did show signs of weakening. In my attempt to charge it i left it charging for a couple days accidentally. At present i cannot power it up and the screen remains blank can you help
Solution: Right now the first thing that you need to do is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge to turn on the device. Try connecting the phone to its wall charger then check if you can see the charging indicator. If there is no charging indicator then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
- In case the phone does not charge try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
Once the battery has sufficient charge try starting the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Shuts Down On Its Own
Problem: My device is a Samsung Galaxy J7. While switched on the screen went black and the phone began to vibrate constantly. I tried a reboot, I entered the PIN and for a moment it seemed ok and then it shut down and rebooted on its own only to shut down again.I checked your advice site (great job btw !) and cleared the cache as suggested, also tried holding down the power key for a minute, same thing. I will try a master reset if necessary but I can’t get the phone to stay on long enough to save my data which I understand will be cleared. Hence my email, many thanks for any advice you can give me. Solution: You can try connecting the phone to its wall charger then check if it stays on. If it does then you can proceed with backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. In case the issue persists after the reset then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
