J7 Black Screen After Getting Wet
Problem: Dropped my phone into the water, at first i quickly wipe off the water with soft cloth and tissue. Afterwards put the phone in the hard boiled rice in the airing cupboard overnight while the screen sometimes shown constantly flashing blue/black screen. By 11pm at night I check my phone by turning it on and there was starting screen but automatically turn itself off/on 3 times with having to put it back on, including the screen were upside down while it still being plug in with its charger til next few days. Next morning try to press volume and home button with the power button for 10 secs but did not work. Later I felt constantly vibration while the screen is still black.
Solution: You should not place your phone in cooked rice. The correct way to remove the moisture inside the phone is to place the phone in a bag of uncooked rice for at least 48 hours. After 48 hours if the phone does not have any charge then connect it to its charger and let it charge for 20 minutes before turning it on.
In case the issue persists then the phone is most likely water damaged. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 home Button Not Working After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, I have a problem with my Samsung J7 button and power button. It happened when I accidentally spilled a drop of water not entirely wet but it mostly drops on the home button then after that every time I click the Home button it pops up the Google Assistance, then the power button does nothing when I clicked it even the assistant menu can’t function when I press the lock screen option. So if that happens I do the manual restart of my phone (power button and volume down) that’s the time I can now click the power button however I can’t click the Home button to get back to the home screen every time I open an app. So I have to press it again or do long press that’s the time the Google assistant keeps on popping and it will do the same routine again like the power button not functioning. I have to do the same process for restarting my phone just so I can locked my phone or have the power button function. Every time I click the home button it pops up the Google assistance then the power button is not functioning. So please help me.
Solution: Because the phone got wet it’s likely that water might have damaged the home button. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Check if the issue still occurs once this is done. In case the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Keeps On Restarting After Drop
Problem: So, I dropped my phone one day. It hit the ground pretty hard, but the screen did not crack or anything. A few days later, my phone screen froze and it just kept on restarting over, and over again. Once it finished restarting, I used it again and the exact same thing happened. I tried factory resetting the entire phone, but it is still having the same problem. I am not sure what to do
Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have one installed then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
