Samsung’s new 256GB UFS 2.0 storage module could feature on the Galaxy Note 6

Samsung 256GB

#Samsung has just announced a new 256GB UFS 2.0 storage module, which could change the course of the mobile industry. While we currently see phone storage options maxing out at 128GB, this could mean that devices with 256GB of internal storage could soon be a reality.

Of course, since Samsung is coming out with this chip, it’s  safe to assume that the company will use this in one of its own flagships over the coming months. Speculation has already begun that the company might use this chipset on the Galaxy Note 6, although there’s no evidence to prove this at the moment.

Some other reports have suggested that Apple might be finally ready to make the switch to 256GB iPhones starting later this year, so it’s possible that Samsung will supply the modules to the Cupertino giant. This doesn’t seem inconceivable given that Apple already gets some iPhone components from Samsung.

In any case, this is a big technological advancement and could only do great things for the mobile industry. We look forward to devices with 256GB of internal storage, what about you?
