Samsung shows off the Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit in a new introduction video

Galaxy S5

Samsung has just posted two new videos showing off the features and specifications of its MWC 2014 devices. Starting with the Galaxy S5, the video shows off its features in length with focus on core features like the camera and the heart rate monitor. This is basically an introduction to users who are new to the Samsung flagship.

The other video covers the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit smartwatches respectively, showing off all that they can do. The Gear Fit in particular has drawn significant attention from the masses and could be one of the most talked about smartwatches of the year, given its size and features. However, we’re still early into the year and a lot could change in the coming months, so it’s hard to predict anything at this point.

The Gear 2 is compatible with 17 Samsung Galaxy devices while the Gear Fit is compatible with 20 Galaxy phones/tablets, so there are quite a lot of devices to choose from. It is a tad disappointing though that Samsung has restricted the compatibility of these smartwatches to its own smartphones and tablets.

  1. Sometimes I wish I have something in me always that will let me know if i
have notifications when my phone is in another room in the house.
I think the Gear series is the answer.
    Thanks Samsung.

  2. FItibit was very early to the fitness band game. But this is still the very beginning. Give time and other OEMs will jump in to the arena, and then it will get interesting. Samsung is the only mainstream consumer electronics company that is seriously into the market and experimenting. Other big names have to join the list yet.

  3. The Galaxy S5 video din’t interest me much, but the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit just look amazing, especially the fact that those two combine a watch and a fitness band, something like a FItbit Force. I was eyeing the Force for quite sometime now. But after the Gear Fit, I don’t think I’ll go for a Force.

  4. Galaxy S5 looks alright. I’m still surprised the Gear 2 is out already. It’s only been a few months since the first Gear was announced…I would’ve expected Samsung to put a bit more work in the Gear before releasing a second. After all, was pretty lackluster compared to what Samsung made it out to be.
