The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is the latest flagship phone of the South Korean giant that sports a fresh design from the previous models. The phone has a large screen real estate with minimal bezels on all sides. The phone uses a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display which has an 83.6% screen to body ratio. Some of the great features of this phone include its use of a Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor with 4GB of RAM, 12MP camera, and 3000mAh battery just to name a few. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 fast charging not working issue & other related problems.

S8 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: I have a fast charging cable and I went overseas however overseas I was using normal charge however when I came back I am using the correct adaptor which says fast charging but when I plug it in it does not work I have a Samsung galaxy s8

Related Problem: My biggest issue presently, is that I cannot get the phone to always charge fast. This is the most difficult phone I’ve ever had for charging. I have so many scratches around where I place the charge cord. I was getting lots of ads at first and I did something, not sure what, but now that really isn’t a big issue for me. I hear this is the best phone to have, but right about now I’m missing my iPhone. Any advice for charging my phone?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air since the presence of dirt or debris in this port can interfere with the charging process. In case the phone still does not fast charge then make sure that the phone is set properly for fast charging.

  • Navigate to Apps > Settings.
  • Touch Search, then search for and select Battery.
  • Touch More Options.
  • Touch Advanced settings.
  • To turn on Fast cable charging, touch the slider

You should also make sure to use a working charging cord and adaptive fast charging charger to charge your phone.

S8 Not Starting After Getting Wet

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S8 got wet and I immediately turned it off. It then went to a Factory system download.  With the instruction not to  turn off.  I couldn’t turn it off anyway.  I put the phone in a bag of rice for 1 day, used a hair dryer and now it has been 2 days, it would not start. How long does the moisture evaporate from the phone, before I need to take it for repair?

Solution: Placing the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours will usually remove the moisture inside the phone. If your phone is not turning on then try charging it first for at least 20 minutes. In case the phone does not charge then try cleaning the charging port with a can of compressed air then charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Secure Folder Has Been Locked To Prevent Any Unauthorised Access

Problem: I’m using Samsung S8 and recently my secure folder doesn’t open. Everytime I click on it a popup message appears saying that “unauthorised software is installed on your phone. Secure folder has been locked to prevent any unauthorised access” I tried to delete the app, but I couldn’t. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much in advance.

Solution: If you haven’t rooted your phone and you are getting this error message then the first thing that you should do is to check if there are any new software updates available and if there are you should update the phone accordingly.

In case your phone is already running on the latest software version then you should try wiping the cache partition of the phone from recovery mode.

S8 Moisture In Charging Port Error

Problem: Hi, My S8 just started giving me a warning during charging that the USB is wet, and won’t charge when turned off. My phone has never been near water or anything else to cause this message. Also, as of this morning, when the phone is on and plugged in, the charging symbol is on, but the battery is still straining. I tried a soft reset and cleaning the port, but there’s no difference. Fyi, I’m guessing about the Android version as I can’t find the info..I just know that I don’t have Oreo Thanks!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. I recommend you try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone. In case you still experience the same error message then I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Black Screen With Blue LED Light

Problem: Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy S8. My battery was running low so I put on my the charger. A couple minutes later I went back to get on my phone and the screen just stays black. The blue light at the top still lights up and it still vibrates when I turn it on and turn it off. Other than that nothing shows up on my screen. I,ve pressed and held the power button volume down button for about a minute turned it back on, but still nothing. Not sure what else to do.

Solution: What you should do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Follow the steps listed below to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

One last troubleshooting step to consider is  a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the issue persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Randomly Not Charging Not Turning On

Problem: My battery died and when I plugged it in to charge a single white line blinked horizontally all night. It didn’t charge nor could I turn it on. I unplugged the phone and turned it on. It was at 1% so I quickly plugged it in and now it’s charging. Why did this happen?

Solution: It’s possible that this is caused by a software glitch. Just observe the phone first and check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I would recommend that you do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
