On the inside the phone  has a much more powerful processor and larger RAM. It also has a superior camera which takes great low light photos. The device also has a beefed up battery of 3000mAh for a longer usage period. There’s also the extra features not found on the S6 such as a microSD card slot, waterproofing, and dustproofing. S7 No Network Connection

Problem: This is a new replacement phone less than a month old s7 model . Seemed to be working ok until this morning ..no network connection i have reset and also taken back to factory settings….with no success. We have another phone on the same mobile network and that shows no issue . I cannot receive or send texts or phone calls . the reception in certain areas is also spotty …however i have had an earlier model samsung with no issues.

Solution: Try inserting a different SIM in the phone to check if the problem is caused by an issue with the SIM card. Make sure that airplane mode is not activated when you check for a network signal. In case the issue still persists and since we already know that

  • there is a good signal in your area
  • You have already performed a factory reset on the phone

Then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this phone checked at a service center.

S7 Not Getting Text Messages

Problem: I turn off my galaxy S7 at night, when I turn it on in the morning all the texts that were sent to me when the phone was off immediately comes in and I am notified however this has changed in the past month or 2. Now when I turn on the phone I don’t receive any text notifications, I have to send myself a text in order to retrieve the texts that were sent while the phone was off. Wondering how I can fix this?

Solution: First, make sure that you are in an area with good network reception as sometimes if the signal is spotty this particular problem can occur. If the signal is good in your area then it’s very likely that this is caused by a software glitch. To fix this problem perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Restart the phone then check if the problem still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Turns Off Randomly

Problem: My phone turns off when I’m using it, sometimes I’m able to use messenger if I’m connected to a power source, my phone will just restart but won’t restart completely and will continue to do that until the “actual” battery life is depleted.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.

In case the issue persists or if the phone does not have a microSD card then the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue persists. If it does then the problem could be caused by a faulty hardware component. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Doesn’t Stay Connected To Wi-Fi After Software Update

Problem: As of 4 days ago my Samsung Galaxy S7 will not stay connected to my home wifi account.  It began after the last update happened.  I have tried everything and can’t get it to stay connected. This is resulting in a data charge from my cell phone for data I already paid for with my wifi.  How can I fix this problem?

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if other devices in your home are experiencing the same problem. This will indicate whether the problem is caused by the home router or your phone itself. If the issue occurs only with your phone then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Forget the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then connect to it again.
  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Not Receiving Sending Text Messages

Problem: My galaxy s7 won’t receive text messages. All other apps work on phone but I can’t receive texts or send out. My phone is also lagging in functions and shutting off on its own. This started after i received storage running low alert. I freed up space and now have over 5gb free but it isn’t helping. I checked all app setting on phone and they seem to be fine. Thanks

Solution: Regarding this text messaging concern the first thing that you need to do is to contact your carrier and make sure that the account has an active text messaging subscription. You should also make sure that the phone has a good signal reception.

To troubleshoot the phone proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Restart the device by pressing and holding both power and volume down keys for at least 10 seconds. This refreshes the phone software and resets its connection to the network which usually helps in this kind of issue.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 No SIM Error After microSD Card Inserted

Problem: I inserted an SD card to my phone for more storage. After doing so, I got a pop-up that said “No SIM” and my SIM card stopped working. I forced stop on the System UI, but that only caused my home screen wallpaper to reset (and probably more that I don’t know of). If there is no possibility of that bring the issue, I’d also like to add that I installed an gaming app yesterday. I would like to fix this problem without having to lose data involving photos or memory (I believe that is what a reboot does?). Erasing things like cache is fine with me. I’m not so sure on my Android Version and I don’t know how to check. I think it is Marshmallow. Please help, and thank you.

Solution: Try removing the SIM card from your phone then carefully place it back to its SIM tray making sure that it is in its correct position. Insert the tray back to the phone making sure that it is pushed firmly in. Does the issue still occur? If it does then try removing the microSD card from the phone then again check if the issue still occurs. In case the SIM card can be read then the problem could be hardware related wherein the phone can’t detect the SIM when a microSD card is present. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case. If the SIM can’t be read then you should try inserting another SIM card on your phone to check if the problem is caused by the SIM.

One last troubleshooting step to consider is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data when you do this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
