S7 Edge Will Not Send Text Messages

Problem: Phone will not send text messages, and will stop sending the message and report that the message could not send, even on full 4g LTE bars. Phone also will not load web pages and internet using apps on 4g LTE data, even with full bars.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that you have an active text messaging subscription. You can contact your carrier regarding this matter. You should also inquire if you still have mobile data credits.

One you have cleared out any account related issues that could be causing the problem it’s time to troubleshoot the phone.

Check if your phone is using the correct message center number. This number is unique for every carrier and is needed in order for your phone to send out text messages.

To access this setting from your phone.

  • Tap Messages.
  • Tap MORE.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap More settings.
  • Tap Text messages.
  • Tap Message centre.

Once your phone is using the correct message center number and you still can’t send out text messages then you should ty clearing the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager. If this fails then check if the same issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If you are able to send out text messages in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider backing up your phone data then do a factory reset.

As for the issue of you not being able to use your mobile data subscription what you need to do is to make sure that your phone is using the correct APN settings. Your phone APN settings should match the one your carrier is using.

S7 Edge Text Messages Fails To Send After Software Update

Problem: Since the last update, my text messages fail to send, there have been times I don’t get them for hours later. I lose calls, weird background noises as well. My phone is running very slow. I clear my cache everyday and do the maintenance.

Solution: Are you in a location with a good reception? Sometimes if the reception is spotty then this issue can occur. If the signal is good in your area and other devices on the same network are not experiencing the same problem then it’s time to troubleshoot your phone by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone. This not only resets your connection to the network but it also refreshes your phone software.
  • Try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app.
  • Check if the same issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

In case the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. What you need to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.Once the reset is complete you should now be able to send text messages.

S7 Edge Text Messages Received Can’t Be Seen

Problem: When I receive a text, I can see a preview of the text but when I go into my messages, the new texts aren’t there. It doesn’t even allow me to see the texts I’ve sent.

Related Problem: I’m wondering why text are disappearing, but not my text persue, the text that I’ve received from my fiance. I’ve gone back and looked, and it basically looks like I’ve been texting myself. Where are her text? And I have my text delete set off also.

Solution: This problem could be caused by a software glitch. Try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app first from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S7 Edge Sending Out SMS As MMS

Problem: Hi i have issue if I sending an sms to my friend it is converting to mms type and my provider charging me extra. how I can fix this. Thanks

Solution: Some carriers have a certain limit on the number of characters that can be sent out as an SMS. If you exceed this limit then the message will be automatically converted to MMS. One workaround to this is to try changing the input mode of the text message by going to Menu – Settings – Applications – Messages – More Settings – Messages. From here tap on Input Mode then try choosing the GSM option.

S7 Edge Text Message Received Are Mixed Up

Problem: My text messages are received in disconnected form. Words are separated. First sentence may be last sentence and also sent in pieces. I have a Samsung S7 Edge but had same problem with Samsung Galaxy Note 5. All info on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was transferred to new phone which I purchased 2 days ago

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app. Once this is done you should check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could be caused by some corrupt data from your Note 5 that has also been transferred to this phone. What you will want to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

S7 Edge Notification Keeps Showing Unread Messages Even If There Is None

Problem: The text message notification icon on the bottom of my phone continuously shows I have 7 unread messages. I do not. I cannot figure out how to clear it. I use the message+ app. Please help!

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the Message+ app from the application manager. This will usually get rid of the unread notification that you have.

S7 Edge Call Can’t Be Heard

Problem: S7 Edge, callers can’t hear me , volume fading during call. Phone worked fine till about a month ago. Already verified signal / location is ok, performed system update and cleared cache.. This doesn’t seem to happen when on bluetooth in car.

Solution: It looks like there seems to be a problem with the phone microphone. Try cleaning the microphone hole of the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. As soon as the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
