S7 Edge Not Turning On After Overnight Charging

Problem: Hi, My daughters Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge wouldn’t turn on this morning. We had it plugged in and charged all night. All it shows is a yellow/orange light flashing at the top. I searched your trouble shooting and did the following procedure: Step 1: It might just be a system crash and a Forced Reboot is necessary This is the first thing you should do. It’s easy and it’s safe. It’s an equivalent to the battery pull procedure for devices that have removable battery. If it’s a system crash or a minor firmware or hardware glitch, then this procedure should fix it: Press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys together for 7 to 10 seconds or until the device reboots. The device will perform the simulated battery disconnect if it’s done successfully and if it still has enough battery to power up its components. Now….It shows a blue screen with the download icon in white in the middle with the word downloading below it and “do not turn off target” below that. in the top left of the screen is “Odin Mode (HIGH SPEED) in red PRODUCT NAME: SM-G935V CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL FAP LOCK: ON QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE RP SWREV: B4(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S3 SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE”  This has been in this mode for about half an hour so far,…..very concerned. What should I do?

Solution: It looks like your phone is stuck in download mode. This is a mode that allows you to flash your phone software. If your phone is still running on its stock firmware file then there’s a possibility that this could just be caused by a glitch in the phone software. What you will want to do is turn the phone off first Once the phone is off wait for a few seconds then turn on your phone. Most of the time the phone should boot up properly this time.

If you are still having a problem starting your phone then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If you are able to access this mode then an app that has been downloaded to the phone could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is then uninstall it. Reboot your phone afterwards.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe the cache partition of your device.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode. Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Keeps On Asking For PIN

Problem: when i power the phone on i get the usual samsung galaxy s7 edge screen followed by samsung then my to start up your device , enter your pin . after entering pin number it says starting android , shows padlock opening then goes back to the samsung galaxy s7 edge screen and enter pin screen again ? occasionally it has flashed up my open homepage screen for a second then went back to start up procedure again , please can you help me ? look forward to your reply.

Solution: Do you have a third party launcher installed in your device? Some owners of this device experiencing the same issue say that it is caused by a launcher. To check if a third party app is causing the problem then try to start your phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by a third party app possibly a launcher. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Since you are not getting a wrong PIN error and the phone just restarts then it’s possible that a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. Try the following troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.

  • Start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then wipe the cache partition of your device from here. This will erase the temporary system data of your phone. Restart your device.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode. Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Shuts Down Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hey, I have a Galaxy S7 edge that just shut down on me this morning. It literally turned off and will not turn back on at all. Nothing has happened to it physically but because it is dead completely it is not covered through the warranty. Any ideas what I could do or have you heard of this happening to others?

Related problem: I thought I lost my Samsung galaxy s7 edge but I left it untouched at my best friend house for about two, two in a half month.. When I finally found out it was there I raced over and got it back.. But to my amazement when I plugged it into the charger it NEVER came on even after two hr of it being hooked up to charger no luck.. Which brings me here…

Solution: Try charging the phone first as the battery might just be drained. Follow the steps listed below for the charging process.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. This will clear out any dirt or debris stuck in the port which could potentially cause charging issues.
  • Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes. You should also try charging your phone via the USB port of your computer. I also recommend that you try to charge your phone wirelessly. Check if there is a charging indicator and if the phone will now turn on.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty battery or other internal component. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.

S7 Edge Not Turning On

Problem: Hi. My phones screen has been going a bit shaky recently but i didn’t think anything of it. Then today, I was doing some work on it and then went to open it and it didn’t respond. When I press the power button it flickers blue and then a faint Samsung Galaxy background appears then goes off. When I reboot it a blue light shows for a few seconds then the return key and open apps key lights up then goes off again. It’s got 80% charge from before it went off. I’ve done all your trouble shooting tasks. So I’m abit stuck now of what to do. You’re help would be very appreciated

Solution: Try connecting the phone to its wall charger for at last 20 minutes then turn on the device with the charger still connected. If the phone turns on then this issue might just be caused by a weak battery. If the problem remains and since you have already performed most of our  recommended troubleshooting steps for this problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Check Port Moisture Detected Error

Problem: Hi there, My s7 edge is having problem charging. When i charge, it does not charge it says “check port : moisture detected, make sure the usb port or charger is dry”. But my charger and the usb port is dry all the time. Can u help me with this?

Solution: This is a safety measure introduced by Samsung to the device to make sure that the charging port is not wet when you try to charge the phone. What you will want to do first is to make sure that the charging port or the charging cord is not wet. If everything is dry and you are still getting the error then try restarting your phone first. Once the phone has started try charging it again. You might also want to try using a different charting cord and wall charger to charge your phone to isolate any charger related issues.
