S7 Edge Not Getting OTA Updates
Problem: I have an issue with Samsung s7 edge. I am not getting OTA/FOTA updates in phone. But, if I connect my phone with Smart Switch in PC, it shows and update. i have visited Service Center and they have re flashed the firmware. But, still, I am not getting OTA update for my phone. I want to know how this problem can be solved?
Solution: Since you have already reflashed the phone firmware which doesn’t appear to fix the problem then one other factor that could cause this is your data connection. Try checking for the update when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network.
Your phone should also meet the conditions listed below to be able to get the update
- Your phone must be running on its original network if it is an unlocked device.
- Your phone must not be rooted.
- Your phone must not be running on a custom firmware.
S7 Edge Crashes With LInes On Screen Showing
Problem: I bought some Skull Candy earbuds with microphone, and since then the phone crashed a couple of times, with a weird electronic noise, and magnetic type of lines on the screen. Now the phone doesn’t respond anymore . I let it run out of battery to start again. But when i started it again, after 1min the phone crashed again, still with this weird lines of colours on the screen.
Solution: It’s possible that the earbuds might have caused some component to short circuit thus causing this issue. To troubleshoot this issue what you can do is to check if the phone software is involved by following the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Nce the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Freezing And Restarting Constantly
Problem: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is freezing and it restarts frequently in a day.I have done master reset, cleared cache and tried few other things as mentioned on you site but nothing helped. Please resolve as it is too annoying
Solution: Does you phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this can cause freezing issues on the phone especially if the card has corrupt sectors.
If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Freezes With Distorted Display
Problem: The phone suddenly freezes and part of the display horizontally from edge to edge is distorted and after a few seconds the phone restarts. This could happen as much as three or four times in a row, and sometimes less like every hour or so. Did a factory reset from settings, but the problem persisted. Same issue whether the phone is on charge or battery. Phone is now a month old. I have a video of the problem which I would gladly upload if you have the option to upload it.
Solution: This is a similar issue to the one that we have addressed above. Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? Try removing it if you have one as this could cause this kind of issue. If you don’t have a card installed or if the issue still occurs after removing the card then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Keeps On Restarting
Problem: Hi there I have an issue with my Samsung s7 edge that it keeps restarting all the time I have tried clearing the cache, factory reset but still keeps on doing the same Please shed some light on how to cure this or have I got to send my device back to you for you to look at Thank Some in anticipation
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it as a card with corrupted sectors can cause a phone to freeze and restart. If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card installed or if the issue occurs even after removing the card then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Freezes
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s7 edge keeps on freezing on me, when it freezes, I am unable to turn it off until the battery die. It’s been over 4 weeks I haven’t been able to use my phone. The freezes as soon as I turned it on. Please help!!!
Solution: Try starting your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. Before restarting your phone remove the microSD card of your device if one is installed. Should the issue still occur after the reset I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
