S6 Will Only Charge With USB Connection
Problem: My phone will only charge with a usb connection to a computer. I’ve tried multiple wall charger and cable combinations – nothing happens, it’s as if nothing is plugged into the phone. Those same charging cables work fine when connected to a desktop or laptop usb. Have not tried a car charger yet to see what the status is with that.
Solution: In cases like this the first thing that you need to do is to clean the charging port of your phone since there’s a possibility that dirt or debris present in this port is causing this problem. You can use a can of compressed air to clean the port or by blowing into it using a straw. You can also use a toothpick to dislodge any dirt that could be in this port. Once the charging port is clean check if the phone will charge.
Another possible factor that can cause this problem is the charging cord that you are using. Since you have already tried multiple charging cords then we already have this covered.
One other thing which you haven’t checked is the phone software. Try disabling the USB debugging mode from the developer option settings.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap on “About Device” menu and then tap on “Build Number” 7 times.
- You will get a prompt that says that you’re a developer now.
- Go back to the Settings menu then tap on Developer options.
- From the Developer options, uncheck the box that says USB Debugging.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do should the above steps fail is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.
If the problem still persists then have your phone checked at a service center since this could already be a hardware related issue.
S6 Will Not Charge
Problem: The phone will not charge beyond 0%; The phone dies, then when I connect the charger it will charge just far enough to be turned on, but it does not continue charging after 0% so it almost immediately turns off again. Phone has been recently repaired due to water damage, issue is not with the cable as the cable works fine on other phone. I cannot find this problem anywhere on the internet, help would be much appreciated.
Solution: Since the phone was previously water damaged then I suspect there might be other hardware components that have been affected by the water. The most likely suspect in this case would be the battery. Before bringing the phone to a service center to have the battery checked and possibly replaced try to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw.
- Try charging your phone using a different charging cord and all charger.
- Try charging your phone using the USB port of your computer.
- While your phone is charging try to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that you need to have a backup of your phone data before doing this.
S6 Stopped Charging
Problem: Plugged my phone into charge today. Everything was fine. It was charging as normal. Suddenly the phone turns itself off, battery life was increasing (was checking the time). Start it back up, works normally. Didn’t realise it stopped charging. Batteries dead now can’t even do reset. cable is fine tested it on another device and it worked.
Solution: In cases like this when the phone does not charge you will need to check the charging port of the phone first if it has any dirt or debris present. I suggest using a can of compressed air in cleaning this port. You can also blow into it using a straw. Next, try using a different charging cord when charging the phone. This cord gets easily broken especially if it is constantly coiled or bent. Try charging the phone for 20 minutes using a new cord and wall charger.
If the phone does not charge or turn on then I suggest you have this checked at a service center as this might already be a hardware related problem.
S6 Charging Paused
Problem: Error codes battery to hot charged paused, i have had a new battery installed and same error code shows, battery to hot wirless charged paused. I have soft and hard reset phone and still tells me same error code. Also beeps twice. I have stuck phone in freezer just so i could get a little charge. Phone is not even hot when i try and charge it. Phone wont charge wh3n powered off
Solution: There are two possible reasons why this issue is happening. First, it could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Second, it could be caused by a hardware component that is failing. As a phone owner, the software side is what you should troubleshoot. In this case you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will revert your phone back to its original condition. Once the reset is finished do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware issue which could be caused by
- Water damage
- Internal thermometer of the phone is faulty
- Defective battery.
I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.
S6 Fast Charging Not Working
Problem: hi, Fast charging is not working on my phone i used genuine fast charger come with my phone but it shows cable charging always i tried many chargers as well but always it shows cable charging which will take about 6 hours to charge completely my phone model no is 920F. Please guide me about any solution
Solution: Make sure to clean the charging port of your phone since dirt or debris that’s in this port can have affect the charging process. To fast charge your phone it’s always best to use Samsung approved charging cables and chargers. Replace the charging cord that you are using since this may already be damaged. You should also try to use a different adaptive fast charger.
Take note that you can’t use the fast charging feature when the phone display is turned on.
S6 Not Detecting Charger
Problem: I don’t know what android version it is as my phone has worked perfectly fine till last night when I plugged it in and the phone wouldn’t read the charger or any other charger it is now dead. What do I do?
