S6 Warning Camera Recording Failed

Problem: When i try to use the video camera appear an error that said “Warning Recording Failed” and then the camera goes off.

Solution: If this issue only occurs when you try to record a video then try to check first if your phone has sufficient storage space. The camera will either store the saved video file in the internal storage space or to a microSD card. Check the free space of the storage space where the video is going to be stored and make sure that it is large enough. It’s also best if you remove the microSD card then check if the issue still occurs.  Next, make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update.

To troubleshoot the problem you should first try to clear the cache and data of the camera app. This deletes the temporary data stored within the app which could be causing the problem.

This issue could also be caused by a third party app that is conflicting with the camera app. To check if this is the case just start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

You can troubleshoot the issue further by starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you first try to wipe the cache partition of your phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have your phone checked.

S6 Recorder Shuts Off

Problem: Hi–I begin recording and the recorder automatically shuts off without me doing anything. Can anyone tell me why this happens? Thanks!

Solution: Before troubleshooting make sure your phone is running on the latest software update. If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it first then check if the problem still occurs.

Troubleshooting this problem is the same as the problem we tackled above. Start by checking if the issue caused by the camera app by clearing its cache and data.

Proceed with checking if a third party app installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it’s very likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still persists then start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Camera Does Not Focus

Problem: The focus on my camera goes crazy everytime i open the camera. It makes this buzzing noise like the camera is trying to focus, and the image is super blurry and shaky. I have to open and close the camera about 5 or 6 times to get it to focus.

Solution: If you hear a buzzing sound while the camera is trying to focus then this may already be caused by the camera lens being stuck or a weak focusing drive. You should however check if the problem is software related by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything yet. You should check the camera first and see if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Pictures Appear Green

Problem: I am having an issue whenever I take pictures, every other picture turns out green. I believe I have checked out all of the settings and put them back to normal but still every other picture I take comes out all green. Please help!

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app first. This clears out the temporary data in the app and resets its settings. You should also follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone from recovery mode. Try taking a picture and check if the issue still occurs. If the issue still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Recorded Video Only Sound Playing

Problem: Greetings!  When I take a video on my phone, it will playback on the phone but when I copy it to my computer, it will only play sound and not the video.  It is an MP4 video file, just like previous ones taken which play both sound and video so I can’t understand what has changed.  There was a software update recently on the phone – could this have changed things as far as the video is concerned?  Many thanks for your help with this

Solution: If the phone can play the video file without any problems then the issue could be during the copy process or with the video player software of the computer. Restart your computer then copy the file to your computer. Try to play it again. If it still does not play then I suggest you try to download the VLC player ( this is a free video player software) and use it to play the file. If the video file plays with VLC then the problem could be with your computer CODECS files which needs to be updated.

S6 Only Records 6 Seconds Of Video

Problem: The camera’s video only records for 1 to about 6 seconds or so before stopping on its own. There’s plenty of memory on the phone (17+ Gb) and the battery is more than 50%. System cached data is only at 500Mb. Previous photos and videos were removed to make sure there was room. No such luck. Any ideas?

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card? Try taking it out first if it does then check if the issue still occurs. You should also make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update.

To start the troubleshooting you should clear the cache and data of the camera app. This clears the temporary data stored in the app and resets its settings.

It is also possible that a third party app is causing this problem. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then i is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
