S6 Stuck In Verizon Screen

Problem: My phone turned itself off last night at a battery life of 25%, I put it on a charger and waited a few minutes before turning it back on, except that once it got to the white background with the word verizon on and the little multi-colored circles below it. It stayed like that for about 30 minutes until I tried to t just let it charge. I tried again this morning and it is still just staying on the white screen. I’ve tried starting it and holding the volume down button but that does not work either. Please help

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to disconnect the phone from the charger then perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should reboot after this. If it doesn’t then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Turns Off Randomly

Problem: I have Galaxy S6 that charges, but turns itself off and on when it wants to.  The battery is sitting at 94% the last time I looked.  I am not sure if it is a S6 or S6 edge.  What is the difference? I am not sure of the OS version

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you have to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then backup your phone data then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs.

S6 Screen Went Black After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung s6 that was working fine for past year. It’s had a few software updates quite regularly this past week or so. suddenly the screen went black, was not ringing and blue led light was pulsing. The light stopped after about an hour or so. I tried the power and volume buttons but nothing. I sent the phone to a local repair guy and he couldn’t get it working either. Any suggestions?

Solution: The first thing that you will have to do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. To do this just follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris present in the port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the phone does not turn on then attempt a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

S6 Not Powering On

Problem: I tried to unroot my galaxy s6 by using odin without my serial number. This caused a lot of instability on the firmware i was using. Because of this i tried with using smart switch to reset my phone but without the IMEI number i couldn’t reset it. Some days later my phone started powering down repeatedly when vibrated. It seemed as if it was sensitive of vibration and later that week it just shut down and didn’t want to power on or charge. Now all I can see of the phone when charging is the red diode that after a while turns green when fully loaded. When I try to power it on or remove the charger the led  instantly turns off. Then I have to wait a while until it the diode turns red again. Please help me. I have tried everything and to clear things up I can’t access download mode, safe mode, data erase mode or anything like that.

Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If this fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Does Not Light Up When Cold

Problem: I have a scratch resistant screen protector installed. It is like thin glass. My screen does not turn on at the slightest chill in the weather. After I warm up the screen, screen turns back on. My phone is a unlocked Verizon phone,I use work metro pcs. Could this type of screen protector be causing this issue?

Solution: It’s unlikely that the problem is caused by the screen protector. This appears to be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work when the temperature is low. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
